Heather is great with curly/wavy hair and everyone was very friendly. I haven’t had a hair dresser really understand my hair needs as I have 2B curly/wavy hair, and Heather not only was really efficient- she handled my hair in a way that works well with my texture, and this is the first hair cut I’ve gotten that I really love. The salon is beautifully designed too, very stylish and comfortable, and they’re so accommodating.

One of the most relaxing, beautiful, professional places i have ever been to! Matt, was so professional with everything he did! I seen a lot of hairstylists and watch how they work. Matt was very professional! I seen the difference felt the difference! :)

Tara is the best! I worry when picking new hair stylists to do my hair since blonde fine hair can be tricky.. but my worries always disappear when I step foot in The Collective. The environment is relaxing and clean. Staff are amazing. Stylists are even better! Definitely recommend coming here for all you blondes out there.

Cara has been my hairdresser for over 20 years and, each and every time I get my hair done, I leave happier and more excited than the previous time. She is creative, professional, fun and focused on making her clients happy. She does amazing color and her styling is fantastic. I go in each time with no direction of my own to offer and always love the results! I’ve followed her from Austin to Houston and, if I have to, will follow her to Milwaukee. I can’t rave enough about her!! Go see her!

Cara is amazing!! I have tried all the top salons in Milwaukee trying to find a stylist that could do the exact icy bleach blond I have been desiring AND be able to do an amazing haircut AND who actually listens to what I'm asking for AND completes it all in a timely manner. I know, I am high maintenance. AND THEN I FOUND CARA!!!! She does it all! She listened and worked with me until we found the perfect color that I love (I get so many compliments too). I have been seeing her for about 6 months now and every haircut has been amazing!! So well structured to my face and styling needs. She always checks in to make sure we are still on the same page and best of all she is so efficient!! Time is very important to me as I am sure it is to most people. I do not want to spend 3-4 hours at a salon and with Cara its usually about 2 hours total for what takes way longer with anyone else. I could not be happier and I really think Cara is the best in the entire city!!!!

Cara did an incredible job and made sure I understood everything she was doing and why she was doing it, which is sometimes rare. She made me feel extremely comfortable and was so detailed and meticulous in her work. She also gave me tips for how to style my hair at home so I could try to replicate the style myself. Honestly one of the best haircuts of my life and I tend to be pretty picky, 10/10!

So exciting to find a hair stylist who specializes in curls! Cara made me feel comfortable and gave me a wonderful cut, along with tips on how to easily air dry my curls at home. It’s worth mentioning that my hair is not super curly—more of a loose wave pattern—and I appreciated that she was knowledgeable and excited to work with the texture I have. Really cool woman.

From the moment I called to schedule an appointment to how kind and professional the staff treated me was a FABULOUS experience. Especially my stylist Cara! I am in Milwaukee on business and my hair badly needed some TLC. I had called a different ‘highly rated’ downtown salon and was treated with disregard and felt unimportant. So I called THE COLLECTIVE and instantly felt welcome and comfortable. Cara is a powerhouse of knowledge and ideas! She consulted with me and offered ideas and suggestions and in less than two hours transformed me into looking and feeling like a Beverly Hills Housewife! She is also very sweet and friendly :) My hair is shiny and healthy and the colors are complimentary and brilliant! She added a few layers to give my hair “movement” and viola!!!! I would without any reservation recommend Cara and The Collective! Going forward I will be scheduling my travel via Milwaukee and Cara!!!! Thank you!!!!

I got the best haircut of my life tonight from Cara- and I just had to sing her praises. I have extremely curly hair that typically stumps stylists and leaves me fairly traumatized in the salon chair. She took the time to discuss what I wanted and what I struggle with- and then offered suggestions for a cut to meet my needs while also elevating my style. She's so creative and clearly incredibly experienced. I will be coming back for sure because of her amazing work, technique, and disposition. **Of special note to curly haired people- she knows what she's doing- an actual curl whisperer.**

Probably the best haircut and style Ive ever had! I described vaguely what I wanted and Cara new exactly what to do with my hair. It came out better than I could’ve imagined. I have naturally fine hair but she gave me the “backstage blowout” which gave my hair a ton of volume. Sad that I just found this place now because Im moving to Seattle in a few weeks. If I wasn’t moving I would never go anywhere else. Thanks Cara!

Yo, this salon is gorgeous! Cara Crafton cut and colored my hair and did an excellent job. I live in LA and grew up in Dallas around impossibly high hair standards and Cara was such a relief to find in a new city. I love her work and highly highly recommend trying her out for yourself. When I met him I had unfortunately suffered an intense mulleting experience with another stylist, Matt has since fully rehabilitated my long hair and continues to effortlessly create perfect cuts. He's the only stylist/mind reader I've ever actually walked away from loving my hair. The entire staff at The Collective is superb, even booking here is a pleasure. Wow, this place is fantastic! Shannon gave me one of the best haircuts I've ever had. My hair is thick and curly, and most barbers butcher my hair. Shannon is the real deal and truly knows what she's doing. I'm new to the area, but I wouldn't be surprised if this is the best hair salon in Milwaukee.
