Speaking only on men's haircuts, this place is consistently good and the staff is all talented. I've been going here off and on for 6 years, when I need a good cut or something specific done, I almost always call and see what their availability is first. $20 men's hair cut with a free 14 day touch up and a shampoo and rinse. That's a hell of a deal. The entire staff is skilled, I've never had a schedule that worked with having one regularly, but I was never disappointed. Ashley was my stylist last time I was there and I highly recommend her. She got exactly what I wanted with out me having to say too much, and helped with product to get as well. Guys, go here. I was forced to find a new hairdresser in 2019. Honestly, I chose Gunnar at Di Carlo Salon by random. But I'm so glad that I did. Gunnar has not only taken personal care of my hair care needs, but has also filled the social need that I desire from a salon experience. He's very personable and really cares about what's going on in my world. He could accidentally chop my hair off, and i'd still come back time and time again. Not to mention, I always walk out of Salon Di Carlo, looking like a million bucks!

The owner (Jason) has been cutting my hair for about a year now. As someone who is very particular and likes a precise cut, Jason and his salon check all the boxes. He is quick and efficient, easy to schedule, and gives you a consistent haircut each time through. I used to pay $60-70 for a nice haircut that was half as good. Great value for the quality of service. Would (and have) recommended them to all my friends/family.

I have been going here for almost a year now and have had a few different people cut my hair. The last couple times I have used Kia and she has done a wonderful job. All the employees are very nice and helpful. The only reason my review isn’t a five star is because I recently made an appointment with Jason since he was the only one available. I was disappointed with it, he seemed like he was trying to set a word record for the fastest haircut and honestly it looks pretty bad. I would much rather have someone take their time and do a good job. I never mind saving time but when it comes to paying $40 for a haircut, I’d rather have it look nice. I would recommend this place and specifically Kia. however, I’ll probably just look somewhere else next time.

Great experience! Everyone was so nice and they were able to get me in super quick. My stylist Clarissa was great. She die a fantastic job coloring my hair, she got all my greys. I have very long hair and the glaze she used made my hair look beautiful. We talked about cutting my hair and giving it a bit more shape, her vision was spot on for what I am looking for and cant wait to come back and get it done. Been searching around the Milwaukee area for a long time for a barbershop I can call "home." I've tried many different places, all of them are either too pricey or don't deliver a good haircut. Everything about Di Carlo's is exactly what I was looking for. The atmosphere, the skill of the stylists, the price range, everything was perfect. I didn't have to babysit my stylist while she cut my hair as I've had to do with less capable stylists. She knew what she was doing and was able to style my hair unlike anyone has ever been able to before (I have really thick hair). They have a new regular customer, and I would highly recommend it to my friends.

2/2 fantastic cuts from two different hairstylists is uncommon, usually you gotta know a guy who knows a guy who knows a barber and it’s $40-50 MINIMUM. This place is gold, the stylists listen and try to communicate back what you describe to them. Not only that, but they’ll ask and answer questions during the cut. They’re all very friendly, engaging, and know what it means to exude professionalism in the workplace. I wouldn’t hesitate to book with any barber here, even if my two are fully booked, their schedule runs deep, and as long as you COMMUNICATE like a normal human being, you will enjoy the cut, the staff, and the results.

UPDATE: Owner reached out to me a week ago. He offered me a free haircut with a different hair stylist/barber. Receiving an apology and willingness to offer more is enough for me. So with that I’m changing my star rating. Went here for the first time around two weeks ago. Overall, felt like kind of a cold environment based on my experience. I understand how some people have off days. However, you still have to do your job correctly, right? I understand if my barber and I have not much in common, but she was just kind of cold throughout the haircut. Also, I showed her a picture of my haircut from another place that I had liked to replicate. She just glanced at it once and then only asked me how long my sides should have been cut, but nothing else. She ended up messing up the front a little bit and once I took a closer look at the back of my head, it was just not even and kind of blocky. Just kind of upset about the experience and money I spent on trying out this place.

I can't say enough great things about this place. After moving to Milwaukee 2 years ago from the east coast, I spent a solid year skipping from spot to spot in hopes of finding a barber with the skill set of mine from back home paired with a salon that had a great vibe. Once I came across this place, I looked no further. Not only are they doing the nicest cuts in the city, but they're doing it at a totally reasonable price. I love that I can pull up their availability late at night if I'm looking for a last minute cut the next day. I just moved to Milwaukee a few weeks ago, and as my hair fell deeper and deeper in disorder I decided I needed to get a quick cut to make things more manageable. I was hesitant about finding a new salon both because I have unusually textured mixed-race hair and I had previously been going to the same stylist for a decade. I chose Di Carlo because it was close to work and they were able to get me in the next day. I was absolutely blown away by this salon. GREAT location, tidy and chic antmosphere, and plenty of product to choose from. The best part was the actual cut, one of their stylists Niki, cut my hair and did a fabulous job. She understood exactly what my hair needed and finished the job in only twenty minutes. I couldn't believe it. I so rarely have had positive experiences outside my old stylist. I will definitely be going back, in fact I already scheduled my next appointment. Niki was friendly and the cut was amazing. What else is there to say?

Wedding Group I am a regular customer and could not imagine going anywhere else. All the staff are so knowledgeable and accommodating. I have to give a shout out to Niki who did my hair and makeup. Amazing prices! $20 for a standards men's hair cut. They have options for straight blade shaves and other services, too. Each haircut comes with a straight blade trim of your neck, which I thought was really great. I wish there was a way to tell the level of experience of each stylist, but I've never had a bad experience. Parking around there is a pain in the butt, but that's true of most places without a parking lot. There are parking garages in the area, though - so just go early and chance street parking or find a lot and you'll be fine.

Very good mens haircut, especially at the price point. A cheaper cut, for the same level of quality when compared to other barbers that I have been to in Milwaukee. My recommendation, if you are a male and prefer a fade haircut would be Brandon, he does an excellent job. They also carry some of the finest hair products that are hard to find at other barbershops.

$20 for a men's haircut in downtown Milwaukee!?...and that haircut includes a shampoo, scalp massage, and a 14 day clean-up?! That is an amazing value. Easy to get an appointment ever since they extended their hours ~6 months ago. Do not show up without an appointment and do not show up late. They are very busy and in demand. They do a better job than sports clips, although I do miss the hot towel massage that you can get with the MVP package. They have an easy to use online booking system. If you check in the morning, you can usually get an appointment during the lunch hour (if you aren't picky about who you want an appointment with). On that note, I have yet to have someone who hasn't given me a superb haircut and style. It is clear that whoever runs this place, knows how to screen for exceptional talent. The location is convenient. It is a little goofy to find as it is actually in the basement under Jimmy John's on Water St. Despite being in a basement, it has a very trendy look and is clean. I have yet to witness any roaches or rats, which is actually very impressive for a building located on the Milwaukee river. As some reviews have pointed out, yes parking can be a pain to find as it is located on Water Street, one of the busiest streets in downtown Milwaukee. I imagine most of their clients work downtown, hence the limited number of parking complaints. SO IF YOU ARE PLANNING ON DRIVING AND PARKING during the 7am-6pm window, add an extra 30 minutes to your commute. If you don't frequent downtown, be advised that the nearby City Hall has been under renovation for the past 3 years (façade and I believe their are issues with the wooden pylons under the building rotting away...so they are doing some sort of repair). Also the BMO building across the street is beginning construction on their new high rise building. Also the Bucks Arena is under construction. Also they are in the middle of laying tracks for our light right transit/trolley. So yes, downtown is an absolute mess and street parking is basically non-existent. Because street parking is non-existent, most parking structures are at or near capacity. Public parking is typically available nearby under the Milwaukee Center, kitty corner at the 250 E Wisconsin building, and there are a few structures off of the corner of Milwaukee and Wells.
