I made the leap to visit the newly opened Ash + Gold after seeing the gorgeous salon space all over Instagram and am so glad that I did. The space that Caroline and her team have created is a spotless & stylish oasis in the middle of Winooski. They offer trend-driven expertise to our area, which was in desperate need of exactly this. The lob that Caroline gave me back in January was so well done that it's growing out perfectly during COVID-19, but the number one thing I'm looking forward to (when it's safe!) is to get back to that pre-pandemic length and get my roots touched up by her.

I got my first cut as ASH + GOLD this week and I am still so happy with the results! Bri was super friendly and really captured what I was looking for. I have wavier/curlier hair so I often leave salons with a blowout or straight hair but Bri kept my personality and curls in mind when doing my cut and style. I LOVED the products she used (Cult + King curl jelly) - she even followed up with product pictures of what she used after my cut which was so thoughtful. I also splurged and got the Olapex treatment and it was definitely worth it. Highly recommend and will definitely be back!

The amazing and talented artists of Ash & Gold have created a stunning, peaceful, simply beautiful space to treat yourself and get the best hair cut of YOUR LIFE. They also use fabulous products with the most intoxicating scents (in recycled ocean plastic to boot!) I always leave Ash & Gold feeling renewed, stunning, and smelling extraordinary. I've converted all my friends to going to Cristine Selvidio - she is a genius, and especially talented at cutting curly hair!

Ash & Gold is such a beautiful space filled with artists who do their best to provide valuable services and who are present with clientele. The space is so open and clean with gorgeous details. The fresh flowers and the plants are an amazing bonus! Caroline the salon owner has such a big heart and is truly there for the community and connection. Love this place!

Cristine is amazing! I had straight and long hair on my first appointment with Cristine. I mentioned getting it cut shorter, but wasn't sure. She spent time with me discussing how I like to wear my hear. (exercise, professional, etc.) I walked out with SHORT hair. This was in February 2020. Enter Covid AND the fact that I'm in NY - I wasn't able to get an appointment with her until July. I loved my hair the entire time. It grew out amazing and I was still able to style it... and by July, I could get it in a pony tail again. LOL. I'm in love my hair stylist! She's the best!

This space is incredibly comfortable and welcoming to all. You feel good as soon as you walk in. The best haircut & dye that I've gotten in years! I felt really listened to and taken care of, and my visit to Ash & Gold was the perfect spring fever self care after this dreary winter. This is the salon that the Burlington/Winooski area really needed - I can't recommend this place enough!!

I’ve been to salons all over the Burlington area trying to get my hair to the perfect natural looking blonde and I finally got it after one session with Rachel! Her work is the best I’ve personally seen in Vermont, especially working with blondes. She makes your hair look so effortless and natural!

Hutton is great!! I love my haircut! The space is super relaxing and industrial with a nice mix of greenery and high end accents. I drive up from Stowe and it's well worth it! The prices are reasonable.

Okay, this is a big deal to give five stars to a salon because I have *never* left one thinking it would be my forever-hair-home. My hair is fairly manageable and I've never considered myself a hair person, until now. I realize the reason I never cared was because nobody ever gave me the look or experience I was after. I have dark blonde hair but looove to go light without it looking tacky or unnatural or brassy. I need it to be a style I can wear up or down and I especially need it to be flexible with time between visits. Caroline gave me THE BEST balayage with blonde baby lites around my face and enough dark root bits to make it look perfectly natural as it grows out. I've never rebooked appointments at the end of appointments, but now I always do. I'm hooked. The space is straight out of Pinterest, with voluptuous plants everywhere and decor that makes you want to go home to redecorate. The vibe is very inclusive and high end. It's hard to find high end, high quality spaces that feel okay for people who aren't rolling in dough, but this is it! The prices are high for good reason. If you don't want to spend the money and you're okay with average hair or even errors, any other salon in town can help you. But if you want what you pay for, this. is. your. jam. I've also heard and seen that Caroline, the owner, is great to work for/with. Her employees are more independent contractor style which means they have the freedom to create their schedules, name their prices, and care for hair the way they do best. It adds a fun, diverse component and it makes it possible for all hair types to get terrific results. Pus, you can definitely 'feel' when there's tension or power struggles in salons and that doesn't exist here. It truly is a breath of fresh air. 12/10 would recommend if you want to find your forever-hair-home too!

Kaila Ward offers a free consultation prior to your appointment. She books up quickly, and it's obvious why; she is phenomenally kind and talented, making sure she knows your hair goals. I try to go months between hair appointments and Kaila gave me the most beautiful highlights that would transition well over the months. Can't wait to return.

Crristine did magic! I absolutely loved, loved, loved my haircut. I never know what cut and color I want. Fortunate Cristine knew what cut matches my personality even though she hadn't met me before.
