I got my first Brazilian wax today from Camryn . I was completely nervous and scared I wouldn’t be able to complete the service . But honestly she made the entire experience delightful . When she applied the wax for the first time she like you ready Im like yea . I started screaming when she ripped off the hair and that’s only because I am a little dramatic lol . But Every time she ripped the wax off she apply pressure so it can be less painful . She made me feel so comfortable and keep me laughing the entire time . I also bought some products she recommended me so I’m excited to start using it . I even signed up for my member ship . So i will definitely be coming back as a regular customer. Highly recommend this place . It’s nice and clean and love the vibe they brought me (:

She is a wonderful person who has managed to make waxing a relaxing experience rather than a stressful/painful one. I highly recommend her work and the business itself seems generally well run and professional. You get a text before your appointment, can schedule online, good location. I definitely recommend!

I had my brows done by Nina. She is absolutely fabulous! So warm and kind, and did an amazing job on my brows. She listened to my concerns about keeping the fullness of my brows, and made sure that I was happy with what she was doing by checking in throughout the process, and explaining what she was doing. Waxing the City in Del Ray is my favorite place for waxing! I have been visiting this neighborhood studio for years and have always had a great experience. The owner, Laura, is always so friendly and welcoming. The studio is super clean and smells wonderful. Emma is the cerologist that has been taking care of my eyebrows, waxing and tinting, and she does an amazing job. Emma has a fun, positive personality and the waxing experience is smooth and precise. I am always happy with the results. It's very easy to make an appointment online, which is convenient, and of course they are very helpful if you call. If it's your first time ask for Emma!

This place just opened February 2017! The look and feel of this place is calming and soothing. It is beautiful, clean, and they are professional. They do not double dip!! They use hard wax. First time and it was a great experience. Laura (the owner) was very kind and humble. She really took her time and listened to my needs. I just wanted to come on here to say how great my appointment was. I met with both Devin and AJ and it was a really great experience! I got there early since I've never been here before and wanted to make sure the parking situation would not be too complicated (parking by the way was super easy, there's a lot across the street with free parking). I expected to wait, since I was early, but was immediately seen. The waxing was painless and both cerologists are well skilled and know what they are doing :) I've booked my return appointments and look forward to getting my future waxing services done here going forward :)

My skin was smooth for weeks! I came to Waxing the City for some extensive waxing before my beach resort wedding and it was one of the best decisions I made. It was so great not having to worry about unsightly hair for our beach days and I felt so confident that I wore bikinis for the first time since maybe college. Great location and wonderful service. However, there is ZERO flexibility for any life changes. They charge a standard 50% cancellation fee for same-day cancellation. Hopefully, they will review this strict policy and make changes. In the short term the revenue is there, long term they lost a customer

I love Waxing the City Alexandria! I have been a loyal customer to them for 2-3 years. The owner, Laura, is smart, sharp, professional and personable. For services, my go-to esthetician is Jay. Every time I go in for service, Jay makes things as comfortable as possible. Jay is also quick—not too quick where she makes you feel rushed, but quick enough where you aren’t thinking “is this over yet?” Jay not only has a great work ethic, but also has a awesome personality. In regards to the front desk, Savannah, Olivia, and Janaye are killing it! In past waxing studios, I’ve only ever had a relationship with my esthetician, but here at WTC-ALX, the front desk staff are very kind and memorable. They greet you by your name and go the whole 9 yards to make sure you’re taken care of. Lastly, despite only working with a few people at this studio, I can wholeheartedly say that everyone on this team is amazing. Whether they’re working on you or not, they acknowledge you and make you feel welcomed. WTC has a great group of people working together. There is very much a one team one goal type vibe, which I love! They’re all dedicated professionals. 10/10 recommend!

I really liked Waxing The City. Everyone is friendly and the service is always fast and efficient. However, their prices are high compared to competitors and their scheduling can be inflexible. Most services never take the full time allocated, but they only provide a 5 minute grace period and they charge a 50% of the service for a late rescheduling which is a bit much. I definitely understand the importance of punctuality but with customers throughout the DMV and the location of the studio being in Alexandria, they should revisit the grace period and late rescheduling fees.

Tried Wax in the City while I was visiting my cousin in DC. So happy I found them and received great recommendations! Laura (the owner) was Amazing! The staff was friendly and greeted me when I came and even asked if I wanted anything to drink. I got the whole works (eyebrows, half a leg, and bikini wax) and even got my eyebrows and lashes tinted. I gotta say I left extremely happy! Too bad we don't have one closer in So Cal like them. I've had plenty of experience with hard wax, but never a hard wax like this! Even on sensitive areas, the wax is very tolerable! I haven't got the highest pain tolerance, but honestly this wax is the least painful I've ever had!

Love love love this place! I always like to look and see if WTC is in a town I'm visiting since my very first experience during a vacation - glad they are in Alexandria, Va. I can make it a point to always stop by especially for a brazillian - they really are the best! Upon walking in, you know this place has it together - it's chic, very clean, and just so inviting! Gigi greeted me with the biggest smile on her face, which made me feel even more comfortable. I've had both Laura and Kayla during my visits, and they are both fantastic - just such happy gals! I can go here and just chat it up with them while I get my services done - which are painless compared to other experiences I've had, which sets them apart. I also like that they are so sanitary - they give you wipes before the service, they don't double dip, and their hard wax is the best. I am hard to please, and I really can't say enough good things about this place. It's in a cute town too, so you can get your wax on (and off) and then go around town to cute little shops and eateries. It's a great location with great people and awesome services, what's not to love?

I always thought that the salon I used to go to, to get waxed was great, until I went to Waxing The City. Waxing The City's clean and relaxing atmosphere made my appointment a stellar experience. My esthetician Stephanie was incredible. She knew exactly what technique to use to make it a positive experience. I got a Brazilian and the technique she used made it practically painless. Also the wax they use feels way better then any wax I've ever had used on me in the past. I'll be moving 4.5 hours away in the fall, but I'm definitely going to travel back to Alexandria just to go to this salon.

Went today to get my eyebrows cleaned up for the first time in months (thanks, COVID19)! Booking was easy (was able to book same day), they were very accommodating when I texted to say I might be a few minutes late, and the two women I interacted with (staff) were amazingly friendly. Their procedures for COVID were thorough (infrared temperature check, handwashing station) and they even gave me a cute little bag of candy. Of course, masks also required. The staff also held open the doors and checked to make sure no other guests were in the hallway before letting me leave the procedure room. It felt weird because of the nature of the times but I felt completely clean and safe. I also learned that they are opening a location close to my apartment so hooray for that!! I got a 20% discount for being a first time customer and they have a refer-a-friend bonus as well. I think that I will be returning here for all of my waxing needs - no more EWC and their pushy sales tactics for me!

This is by far the best waxing studio I have been to. Their prices are a bit high but you get exactly what you are paying for. All of the cerologists I have had have been professional, kind and very easy to work with. I usually get a brazillian and this place is the most pain free by far. They do use hard wax, which I have heard is supposed to hurt more, but I do not think that is true. This place is clean, the receptionist will work with you if you need to reschedule. Don't get waxed anywhere else!

Although the price of a Brazilian is slightly higher here than at EWC, they include the stomach strip in the cost. I find waxing less painful, if not painless here and that alone makes their services worth the money.

The whole place is modern, tidy and super clean. You can test products while your waiting too. I had my wax with Nina and it was great. No pain at all and we chatted throughout, she was super friendly and professional. I cannot recommend this place enough! I will be back.
