I am never disappointed in my sugaring experience at The Portland Girl. I’ve been coming regularly for almost a year now and can’t recommend it enough. The space is welcoming, the receptionist is friendly and my sugar-er is great. I feel at ease and comfortable during my visits. Sugaring > waxing. My skin is happier here too. Parking can sometimes be hard, but it’s well worth it. 10/10 would recommend the Portland girl and sugaring. Go visit them!

The Portland Girl has been my go to Studio for sugaring and facial services for about 3 years now. Recently, I started seeing Sarahi for bikini sugaring and let me tell you--she has TALENT. I'm not sure how she does it, but the service is nearly **painless**, quick, comes out perfectly and lasts a long time! She's also a sweetheart and so wonderful to talk to. All the staff here has been fantastic over the years and I will continue to be a client for years to come!

I got the portland landing strip. I had never been waxed or sugared before. I was very nervous about being so vulnerable with somebody. However I was immediately put at ease by the friendliness of the staff and the adorable atmosphere. The pain was moderate and slowly got easier as it went on. There is no body shaming here, no negative talk. It's all about positivity and loving yourself. I have another appointment booked and I will only go here from now on. 5 stars!

I’ve been going to The Portland Girl for about the past 15 months for sugaring of my bikini area. The shop is elegant, clean, and hip. I LOVE the flexibility of online booking! That’s the reason I originally went there. It’s soooo convenient! For my service, I get a cross between the Bushwacker and the Portlander. They’re really flexible and willing to do whatever I need. It’s really nice. The sugaring is quick and relatively low pain. The technicians are professional and friendly and so helpful! I highly recommend this salon!!

I have gone to the Portland girl for years (previously at their NorthEast location before that one closed) and have always been delighted with how wonderful the experience has been every single time. For being on the busy street of Morrison, they do a great job creating an oasis in the middle of the city. Though the lobby is small, they do a great job making you feel comfortable. I have been going for the sugaring but recently upped the ante and bought a membership. Now I get a facial after my sugaring appointment and that was MAGICAL. I go to see Rebekah about every 5-6 weeks and highly recommend her. That facial was incredible and she's so kind and professional. I know The Portland Girl can seem a little spendy but I promise you it's worth it. Couldn't recommend more highly!

Returned to the Portland Girl after a two year hiatus (COVID related) and was pleased to find myself greeted by a safe, welcoming, and knowledgeable environment. I booked a Signature Facial with Savannah and really soaked up those 45 minutes. Savannah was trauma informed and made sure I was comfortable and aware of the process. She introduced products that suited my skin and didn't try to oversell just for the sake of selling products. The facial itself was relaxing, rejuvenating, and I left feeling dewy and beautiful. The staff at the front desk were so kind and helpful as well. Will be coming back monthly and looking forward to my next appt!

I was looking for a place to get my personal area waxed and after a long research online and after reviews reading. I found The Portland Girl in the NE. I didn’t know much about sugaring or waxing at all because I always shave. I decided to book an appointment with them, I want my first Brazilian wax to be special since it is an exposure of your private area. I did my appointment with Erica and I told her that is my first time getting my private area wax. She’s really nice and super funny. She made me feel comfortable with the whole process of sugaring. It was a bit painful, but the result is amazing. I’ve been going back every month since I got it done in November. I’ve got different estheticians every time I go in, but the key is that everyone is super professional and friendly. That’s super efficient and I appreciate that kind of consistency. Kudos guys!

This would be either my 3rd or 4th visit to The Portland Girl. Each time I visit I get to see Christy who has been incredibly welcoming and her technique is great. For sugaring, it’s relatively painless for me. I have to admit that I have a tough time getting there on time and they have been accommodating. The studio is nice and clean and professional. The only challenge is the parking which is typical for in-city businesses. My advice is that if it tells you how long it’ll take to get there add 15 mins or more.

I loved this place the second I set foot inside. I happened to be in the neighborhood and had been wanting to try sugaring instead of waxing so I walked in to get more info. I booked an appointment right then and there and loved it so much I became a member! That was over 6 months ago and I must say that my Portland Girl Membership is money well spent. I usually get the Balanced Beauty because I love that I go in and get my sugaring maintenance taken care of before switching gears to an incredible facial all in the same appointment. It's brilliant! The studio itself is beautiful, clean, and inviting. They also stock the shelves with great products. I wouldn't go anywhere else.

I've been getting sugared at the Portland Girl, NE location on Dekum for the last year. First of all, I love the aesthetics and deco of this place - beautiful, clean and cozy and with a very good eye for artful detail. I had a really great experience here. All of the Portland Girls were so friendly and warm. It was really nice to be able to go in and interact with people comfortably and not have them force products on you the entire time. I had an initial acne consultation with Mykel and she was very warm, friendly, informative and helpful. She was never pushy through the service and asked me whether or not I wanted more info on the products she was using, as we had already gone over my established routine. She regularly made sure I was okay through the peel portion and extractions and really focused on my comfort. We chatted the entire time which was really nice and she's a very pro-woman, woman which was really nice. Any time you go in to get a service where you're being put under the spotlight you really start to expect the "why aren't you doing x y z that everyone expects you to do" and it wasn't like that here at all. It was really cool that she was so in support of treating oneself but also doing what was comfortable on a personal level. I have had many a facial and this one was great (and I wasn't nearly as red after as I usually get and had anticipated). It was definitely on the pricier side, but the facility and staff made it feel worth it. Casually chatting with Alexandria and Case in the lobby after really made my night. I will definitely be back in the future and will continue to refer people to this spot!

Instantly walking through the door, you can sense the thought and time put into creating a space and experience and is professional, personal, and 'good for the soul'. But what really stood out was my time with Anna (co-owner) during the "Custom Facial". She was incredibly knowledgable and patient during my many questions, and really ensured that we found the treatments and products to match my needs -- while also being very realistic and understanding of my (sometimes a bit lazy) skin care habits. And the treatment was amazing! It was by far the best facial I've ever had. Anna is wonderfully talented, and has real gift for leaving you feeling healthy, fresh, and completely blissed out. She also carries really great products. I've been using her cleanser and moisturizer, and am deeply in love. Had the privilege of getting a last minute sugaring appointment with Krystal. Such a great personality, friendly, warm and makes you feel comfortable immediately. The session was painless and she did a great job of educating me on after-care. The facility is super cute and very clean. My guy friend was able to get a manzillian and was so impressed with the sugaring experience that he's switching to that for his monthly hair removal service! Definitely will be checking out the organic facials next time I'm in town!

I can't seem to come up with enough descriptive words to express how much I love The Portland Girl. Since opening this spring, I have visited the studio numerous times and have always had a fantastic experience. After attending their grand opening party (in which I had my arm sugared and was surprised by how painless and quick it was) and purchasing The Portland Girl brand of eye cream, I decided to go back and purchase a few more items from their skin care line (cleanser, toner, and moisturizer). I love it so much. It feels, smells and is wonderful, and for someone who has problem skin, it has proven to work great. I recently tired their pumpkin mask and am sold on that as well. Along with their own skin care line, they also carry a number of other great skin/body care products. The second thing I tried with them was having my legs sugared. I've never had my legs waxed before so I have nothing to compare it to, but I can't imagine waxing could be better. The sugar they use is made of only three ingredients (water, sugar and lemon) so its not made of weird stuff. There is a little initial pain (makes sense as this is hair removal) but I haven't had any issues afterwards besides a little redness which went away a little bit later. I have now had my legs done three times and I am completely sold. Not having to shave, especially in the summer, has been wonderful. So far the greatest experience I've had at The Portland Girl was my facial with Anna (one of the lovely co-owners). Its hard to even describe just how amazing it was but it was absolutely fantastic. Anna knows exactly what she is doing and she is a master at what she does. Although I didn't fall asleep, when she was done, I had the hardest time sitting up because I was so relaxed I felt like I had just taken the deepest sleep. After she was done, she showed me the different products she used and explained what they did, what she'd recommend for me and taught me a little bit more about taking care of my skin. I left not only feeling better but with a few new products and I'm excited about adding them to my skin care routine. The Portland Girl is the best. All of the girls that work there that I've met have been very kind and extremely helpful. Every chance I get, I tell people about this place because I love who they are, what they are about, and the services they provide. As I mama of a 2 1/2 year old little boy, I definitely don't take care of myself as much or as well as I could, but The Portland Girl has been helping me do a much better job at it. I can not recommend this place enough. Definitely go check them out, you'll be very glad you did.

The Portland Girl has a nice relaxing atmosphere with free cucumber lemon water. Oriana was very kind and listened to how I wanted my brows. They now look less unruly but very natural, and the sugaring was gentle for hair removal. I had infrequent minor itchiness the first day but, after that, no problem at all. If you want to look awake but not surprised, clean but not bald, I think sugaring at this place is one of the best ways to go. I get the feeling, though, that if I'd wanted my pesky facial fur removed entirely, the staff wouldn't have raised an eyebrow.

I haven't waxed in over a decade and had never sugared before The Portland Girl, so I was really nervous about the results. Luckily, there was no need to worry! The spa itself is so clean, everyone was so nice, and the process wasn't that bad (I mean, it's hair removal, not a massage)! The Portland Girl is a cute clean little clinic tucked off of Dekum (right by Breakside Brewery...if you need a post-facial beer) My second facial ever in my life and this one was way better than the first! Taylor was very helpful and knowledgeable about skin care- but not pushy about buying products after it was all over. My face feels amazing and smooth, even a few days later! A complimentary mimosa at the beginning was a great way to start off the process :) It was a lovely treat to myself and my skin. This place is seriously great. I’ve now had two gals sugaring my nether regions and they were both incredible. We talked the entire time and they were funny and relatable . Down to earth and very real. I know that’s a weird thing to be important, but every time I’ve been anywhere to get waxed, I am just sweating and awkward the entire time while they stare at my yoni and make super awkward small talk all the while torturing me. These girls immediately put you at ease. They also do whatever they can to minimize pain. All around, I won’t go anywhere else now and it’s on the other side of town for me so that’s saying something. Highly recommend.

I recently had a sugar (female) treatment. First, I really appreciated the cleanliness of the establishment and it smelled so nice and fresh. Emma was the provider and she did an amazing job making me feel comfortable as well as the actual sugaring. She was informative about after care (they even provide a little informational card) and later maintenance. I wasn’t pushed out the door and expected to know everything. So thank you :-) The room was quaint, comfortable, clean, and added bonus: the ceiling lights were not blinding! Haha yay! They have reasonable hours, great products, and great staff. The Dekum location has plenty of nearby free street parking too. Can’t wait to come back for another stellar experience.

My visit to The Portland Girl was great and I will be returning! The space is lovely and relaxing, and Taylor, my esthetician, did a wonderful job. Sugaring isn't the funnest but Taylor made it easier with her sweet personality. I was accidentally billed incorrectly for my service and Taylor AND the manager both followed up with me promptly to make it right. I booked a facial and an eyebrow clean-up with Case. I couldn't be happier. For a couple of weeks prior to my appointment, my face was very red and irritated. I was worried that a facial would make matters worse, but I wasn't sure what else to do. I needed to consult a professional. Case was so gentle and her voice is very soothing. I was relaxed in an instant. My skin felt so much better afterward and a lot of the redness was gone. I made it through the weekend with only minor skin irritation and my skin looks fantastic. I also tried sugaring for the first time on my brows. It wasn't painless, but no worse than waxing. But I must say, after a waxing my forehead and brows are bright red for at least 24 hours afterward, and I get little pimples that take days to go away. After the sugaring I was a bit pink but by the time I got home the redness was completely gone and I never broke out. I purchased a couple of products and love both of them. I will definitely be back, and will tell all my friends. Thank you, Case!

I have very sensitive legs and shaving has never been a great option for me. I've tried sugaring at home but wasn't terribly successful. I was referred by a friend to try The Portland Girl. I was welcomed as soon as I walked through the door. Everyone is super friendly and it is such a calm environment (especially in the midst of a busy city) with frosted windows so you can't see all the people walking by in the waiting area. Sugaring is not super comfortable but not as bad as I had expected based on my previous experience trying to do it myself. The first appointment was a bit longer but the second (maintenance) was much quicker. I'm already seeing that the hair is growing back slower and thinner in some areas. My hair is very course and dark so expected it to take quite a bit longer before seeing those kinds of results. There are always little hairs left when I leave but they are the shorter, fine, lighter ones that the sugar wasn't able to get. They always go over after sugaring with tweezers to get any hairs that the sugar wasn't able to get. I usually go over them again with tweezers when I get home (since my legs are already used to the pain). The results last (for me) a week to two weeks before I notice the hair starting to grow back. Everyone I've talked to is super friendly and the experience was better than I expected!

I got the equivalent of a Brazilian and while it wasn’t “comfortable” it wasn’t terrible as I’d been warned hair removal could be. My refresher was only different in that I had significantly less hair to remove so it was faster and less painful. At this rate I have no desire to try waxing, sugaring seems to be the way to go. I've seen Ebonee the most and she is great at making sure you feel comfortable, communicates well and gave an amazing head/neck massage at my last back facial. Both esthetician's I have seen were friendly, made great conversation, and made me feel completely comfortable. Their price point cannot be beat - even sometimes offering extra discounts/incentives, and chances to win self-care goodies! I was scarred and felt rather body-shamed from my traditional waxing experience, but Portland Girl and sugar waxing has changed my view on it entirely! The ladies who have helped me at my appointments were so professional, personable, and excellent at sugar waxing! I had some concerns about reactions afterward, and was given great, doable advice which prevented anything unexpected from developing. I am absolutely a fan of sugar waxing, and if you are on the fence, I recommend giving it a try at Portland Girl! I have only been to the SE location, but my next appointment is at the NE location, which I am sure will be just as lovely!

I had a 30 minute back facial with Case who was amazing and made me feel completely comfortable, and had my skin looking better than it has in years. Audrey was at the front desk and was so helpful and nice. I bought a cleanser and a toner and they gave me samples for more products. I had a facial here and had a great experience. The space feels fun and flirty. They offered me a warm towel and a mimosa when I walked in, which made me feel like I was flying first class. The products they use and sell are natural and smell amazing. The aestheticians are friendly and pay attention to your needs. And I didn't have to choose between feeling pampered and getting results. The prices are a little steep-- I wish they had a cheaper option so I could go more regularly!
