I love this salon. I have had two different technicians, everyone I work with has made the hair removal as fast and painless as possible. I switched from "hard wax" to sugaring and I find that it is similarly less painful than soft wax, maybe even less so! Also much more environmentally friendly :). I plan on continuing to use this salon from now on and I'm very pleased with the results

I needed to switch sugaring salons because the one I had been going to for years wasn’t doing it for me anymore. I’m soooo glad I found Sugar Bar. I’ve been twice now and had amazing experiences both times. I was literally able to wait 2 months in between appointments without shaving or anything because the hair grew back so thin and sparse. It is IMMACULATELY clean, they offer you free wine, and the techs are so incredibly skilled and friendly. Both times I had great conversations with the techs that took my mind off the service and made the appointment go by so quickly. This is the third sugaring salon I’ve been to in Philly and it is hands down the best.

I had went there, about a month ago, to get my very first waxing experience and it was amazing! The woman that helped me, I apologize for forgetting your name, made me feel very comfortable and asked if I was okay multiple times. The place looks aesthetically pleasing and overall a great place to go to, even if you never had a wax before. Definitely coming back!!

This is literally the best place to go for all of your self care needs! I moved to Philly during the beginning of the pandemic and to date this is my favorite place in the city. All of the staff are so compassionate, friendly, and professional! Getting the my first Brazilian with Alex was such a good experience, I haven't missed an appointment since. Also Erin is amazing with the brows and lashes, so patient and they always turn out perfect! I've recently moved back to the D.C. area for work and yet to find a place a great as this. I decided to have my full face sugared and it was an enjoyable and almost painless experience. I’ve been to Sugar Bar twice and I’m so happy there is a salon like this in the city. I was in and out of there in like 10/15 minutes for a Brazilian both times. I dread getting hair removal but knowing how quick and efficient the estis here are I feel good going in :) I’ve had two providers and I wish I remembered both their names but I saw Kia today and she killed it. I cannot say enough good things about this place ! I am so afraid to move because then I have no idea who is going to wax me ! Alex has been waxing me for the last 3 years before opening the salon. She is the ONLY person I allow to wax me and she does amazing every time . She is quick, gentle and knowledgeable. The place is so beautiful and nicely decorated . 5 stars. This place is clean & nicely decorated, & the service is exceptional. Alex is the THEE (two e’s) BEST. I am sensitive & have a low pain threshold, but she finishes QUICKLY so I can get on with my day, & she’s hilarious, so that helps minimize the pain. The job is always very neat with little to no irritation & ingrowns. Booking is always super easy & I appreciate the automatic reminder emails & texts. Thanks for the amazing service! I went to Sugar Bar for hybrid eyelash extensions a few days before my wedding and could not be happier. It was my first time trying eyelash extensions and didn't know what to expect, but everyone made me feel comfortable from the moment I entered the salon (and was offered a glass of wine). I showed the lash stylist a picture of how I planned to have my makeup done for my wedding and she took the inspiration and got to work. She was so, so patient and my lashes looked phenomenal, especially in my wedding photos. Four weeks later and the lashes are still on and looking great (not as full but still noticeable and pretty) - even after 2 weeks in the Caribbean with exposure to sunscreen, seawater, snorkeling, and SCUBA diving. I highly recommend Sugar Bar for lash extensions!

My only problem was that I wear strip lashes everyday so I thought the hybrid extensions was more dramatic considering I’m going on vacation and going off the price I thought it would of been more detailed but my eye lash strips were more detailed if you want an natural lash come here the manager took my Unsatisfactory seriously and called me directly also reimbursed me and welcomed me back again but due to my up coming trip I didn’t have any time thanks for caring how I felt about the service

Went in for a facial over the weekend and hands down the best facial I’ve ever had. Kia was my aesthetician that did performed the facial and she was so sweet and comforting, professional, clean, safe, she did everything to make me feel cozy. Not only that, but my skin looked fabulous immediately after! No red, swelling, blotchy. Just perfectly clean radiant skin. It was fabulous. Even 3 days later my face feels so smooth, no signs of dry skin, which is shocking given the winter conditions. It was the hydration I was craving without even knowing. Highly recommend!! Sugarbar is the only place I trust for sugaring and hair removal in the city. All of the employees are professional, welcoming, and make your whole experience fun and comfortable from the second you walk in the door. The whole aesthetic and ambiance of the salon has a clean and modern vibe. I've been going here for a few months and have been sugared by Alex & Kia - both amazing! They take their time and address any issues you might be dealing with and make sure you are happy with the results before they are done. Just had my eyebrows waxed and tinted by Erin for the first time and all I can say is WOOOOOW!!! Erin found a way to fit me into her schedule and delivered above and beyond what I was asking for. If you're looking to get a brow wax or sugared in the city, this is the only place you should be going. I will be client for as long as their doors are open 😊

The women up front were so rude, and they also seemed like they might have been 19.. when I went to Sugar Bar Salon I was greeted and made feel right at home, very welcoming staff who answered any questions I had about the services. I switched to sugaring back in 2016. It’s good for me because I don’t get ingrown hairs and it’s so much easier on my skin than waxing. It’s not super common in this area so when I heard they were opening one in Rittenhouse I was so excited. The decor is AMAZING and so cute, the staff is friendly and accommodating, and the location can’t be beat. Complimentary rose and water. Insanely clean because it’s brand new. Memberships are so reasonable ($30/month) and cheaper than any wax salon I’ve been to. I’m so freaking happy and will be a regular!

AMAZING! I have been getting sugared for 2+ years and will NEVER go back to shaving. First, the salon is beautiful. It’s clean, trendy and it truly feels like an escape. Especially being in the hustle and bustle of the city everyday. Second, the STAFF. So welcoming and make you feel very comfortable. I’m so happy this opened in Rittenhouse. I used to go to a different sugaring place further from home but this is now right around the corner! It helps that it’s level with the street because sometimes I have a stroller in tow which they never mind, and always put me in a big room with plenty of space for it. I’ve been here 3 or 4 times since it opened, have a few friends who now go here as well, and I’m always in and out in 15 minutes or less and they’re always on time. It’s much much quicker and less painful than waxing and this salon is SO CLEAN! It looks more like a day spa than anything else. Alex who I’ve gone to each time is incredible, kind, and there’s no awkwardness or uncomfortableness for services that can sometimes feel like that :) If you are considering going here for the first time, you won’t be disappointed!

Not to mention I only came one time and my hair is already so sparse I still feel so bare. It was my biggest insecurity from waxing and I feel sooo good now. Made a poor experience much better! I had a 9am sugaring appointment that I booked online a few weeks before, and confirmed via text, but when I showed up the salon was closed. Turns out their online booking system isn’t fully integrated yet, or they’re still working on some kinks since it’s a new business. Obviously this was really frustrating, but was able to get in touch on the phone later and still get in that day for my service which they comped so I didn’t need to pay. Really appreciated them making up for it and will be back.

After 8 years of sugaring, beginning in Canada where Sugaring has been a norm for decades, I can safely say this is one of the first US sugaring salons that I feel most comfortable in. Most US sugarists I’ve had (I’ve been to many across the US) have been wonderful people & I’d say many good at what they do. But when it comes to the sugar (paste) product used and the atmosphere/ambience Sugar Bar has a huge leg up! From the second I walked it I felt comfortable, I didn’t question “am I in the right place?” Or “umm not so sure there isn’t something shady happening here”. My Sugarist or sugarista as they call themselves here, was wonderful. She was kind, talkative, knowledgeable of the products she was using and why, and even seemed to take my past experience & knowledge Into stride. They are taking COVID 19 restriction seriously if you have that concern. And if you are new to sugaring this is a great place to come! You will not regret it. They know what they are doing. A business that works with people in an intimate setting with all kinds of body types, walks of life and so on it is so important to provide a safe, inviting and warm environment & Sugar Bar has done that both with the space & their staff. I will be back!
