I was very impressed by the spray tan I received here, especially because it was February and I was very concerned that my bundled up clothes would ruin it when I left. They let me stay in the room and dry myself with the blower machine for as long as I wanted, which was great and my tan turned out amazing. The only thing I didn't love was that they charge you for little things that most studios don't, like a hair net and paper thong, so just be aware of that in case you need any of those items. Customer service was great for the whole experience!

As far as hair removal goes, this is one of the better experiences! First of all, I’ve done all kinds of hair removal (from shaving, waxing, hard-wax, and sugaring) and I’m the biggest fan of sugaring. S+B has been awesome. I’m definitely a committed member now.

I recently also got sugared - it was my first time and they were so helpful and informative about the process. The facilities are extremely clean and well organized. I was unfortunately late for my appointment and the staff was extremely accommodating in fitting me in - excellent service. I had never gotten sugaring before and have 4 positive comments on the experience:1) Initially I was confused / in discomfort as the process and feel of sugaring vs. normal wax is completely different. My aesthetician (very sad I didn't catch her name but want to call back and ask!!) sensed my initial confusion and explained everything about the sugar process to me so I wasn't in any discomfort.2) my aesthetician was an efficiency QUEEN - I was absolutely shocked that she got all the hair of my bikini area off in only a few nearly painless pulls.3) I really enjoyed her approach/manners- she wasn't talking off my ear, but provided some distraction, conversation and was very sweet and helpful with breathing techniques to minimize discomfort!4) I was absolutely shocked at how good my skin looked after - no red angry dots, no peaking hairs, no need to tweeze, no cuts/bleeding and redness and sensitivity lasted only an hour or two instead of the hot wax full recovery day. Week later still no sign of prickles!Overall would 100% recommend this team for first time hair removal clients and regulars alike for an efficient and high quality service.

I've gone to two different S+B locations and I have had a great experience at both! This was my first time at S+B Union Square and it was great. I was helped right away at my appointment time and the salon was very clean and had a pleasing aesthetic. The associate who helped me (I think her name was Ava) was very kind and was happy to re-explain the different elixirs and the timing to shower. My tan came out great and I had the perfect bronzey glow for my bachelorette weekend and got a ton of compliments at how natural it looked. I will definitely be back in the future!

I've been regularly getting spray tans at Sugared And Bronzed for a couple of years now. I'm so happy with my tans and have been tanning so often that I recently signed up for their membership, and I couldn't be happier. They always do a great job with my tans, and I really love their tan extending lotion as well, I wish that came in giant size bottles! I'm a regular tanner and have tried so many salons out there, it's really great to finally find a great place that's also affordable. Being able to text for appointments is also a huge plus for busy schedules! Definitely a happy customer.

Great first time experience. Staff was really accommodating when it came to rescheduling. The girl who did my sugaring was really nice to talk to and made me feel super comfortable. Facility is clean and has a friendly atmosphere. The results are amazing and better than any wax I’ve gotten before. 24 hours later and I haven’t had any irritation nor sensitivity. This is my favorite tanning & sugaring/waxing place in NYC! I have been to the Union Square location multiple times for both sugaring and tanning services and have always had a fantastic experience. They have great deals for first time customers and for referrals. The receptionists are friendly when checking you in and over the phone to book appointments. You can also book online through their portal booking platform (and cancel on that platform) super easily. I used to go to EWC for waxes and ever since I started sugaring here, I haven't gone back to waxing. The results are so much better (smoother, less painful) and last for 3-4 weeks. I also love the Express Spray Tan which you can shower off within 2 hours - the color is super natural (brown/bronze) and not orange at all. The solution also smells nice and is never streaky whatsoever. Huge fan.. 10/10!

This is the best airbrush spray tan in all of Manhattan. I love that you can make your appointment online and they send you a text reminder. They really listen to you and make sure that you get the exact color you want. They always ask if you have a special event coming up and take that into account before spraying. Personally, I LOVE the Express Tan. It is such a luxury to be able to go home and shower a couple of hours later. It saves your sheets and my tan usually lasts at least 2 and half weeks. The staff is so sweet and the facility is spotless. The most important part- it doesn't smell! :) It isn't anywhere near my apartment, but I wouldn't consider going anywhere else in the city (and I have tried a lot of places). Highly, highly, highly recommend Sugared + Bronzed. They are tanning angels.

You have the option to purchase hair ties, flip flops, disposable panties if you choose. The process was super fast which is great as I needed to get home quickly. I've always been super hesitant about getting a spray-tan because of fear of streaking, looking orange, etc. but I'd heard great things about Sugar + Bronz and could not be happier. I was tanned by Chloe (she's amazing and the only one i'm seeing from now on) and the entire process is so quick and easy from start to finish and they give you instructions for before and after and sell amazing products. It's also VERY well priced for a salon of such quality. The decor is adorable, cute books to read while waiting, they'll get you in faster than your appointment time normally, really nice staff, and an overall extremely perfect process. I'm going to try the sugaring next because i never have but have heard great things but loved the tanning and am going back ASAP :) The second tan is also free which is AMAZING and if you refer people you can save $10 so it's very worth it. I will never even try another salon because I had such an incredible experience that there is no reason for me.

I recently went to great a spray tan (express solution) and I have never been more impressed with the results of a sunless tan. The color initially looks more orange because of the coloring in the solution for application, but once you rinse off and it develops it looks very natural (I ended up with a shade between sunkissed and post vacay)! The process was quick, and the ladies at the salon were so helpful throughout the appointment, making sure I knew exactly how to take care of my tan. I went to Miami a few days later, and my tan was holding up very well, even after a full day at the beach! Would definitely do the express tan service again whenever I have a special occasion and feel like I need some extra color. *UPDATE 3/12/2018* I saw Amanda last month for my wax and I have nothing but good things to say about her! Getting waxed can be uncomfortable, but Amanda made the process quick and and easy! Her technique is great, and you can tell she has a lot of experience with how efficient and thorough she is. I was out in under 15 minutes from the time I checked in to the time I paid and was on my way out. This is not a process women typically enjoy doing, but I always know I am in good hands with Amanda!

I got the Standard Level 3 full body spray tan and it’s the best spray tan I’ve ever gotten. Used to work at a tanning salon and that didn’t even compare to Sugared + Bronzed. Not super sticky, very naturally smelling, nice all over consistent tan, and lasts over a week (pending how you treat it). Hardly got any residue on clothing or sheets either. I've been to both the Union Square and Newport Beach (CA) locations. Staff is very friendly and welcoming! Space is very clean. I like that it's easy to book an appointment online and that they're open late. I docked one star because the experience (or training?) of their estheticians has not been consistent. I had a bunch of ingrown hairs after my most recent sugaring appointment at S+B, but I had no issues after my two previous appointments at S+B. Hoping this doesn't turn into a pattern! I love the sugared experience! I'm someone who has been waxing for years and after switching to sugar I notice a longer period of no hair growth and smoothness. The store itself is nice and the only thing I would say I was concerned about is the bed you lay on doesn't have paper cover which I'm used to (I'm someone paranoid about germs) and the way the associate comes in after you're already exposed on the table because I feel anyone could walk by and look in. Other than that it is a good experience.

Been here twice. I have to say I was a bit nervous the first time because I had never done it before although I did watch/read alot of a good reviews on sugaring. My sugarista was super friendly/sweet and showed me the ball of wax and how warm it was. I felt super uncomfortable at first but got use to it since you are in a private room although I am sure it is not sound proof if you screamed lol and you could hear conversations outside your room if people were loud enough. It wasn't painful at all for my underarms but could be in other sensitive areas depending on your pain tolerance. The room I was in was very clean as well so you wouldn't have to worry if you are a germaphobe! The only thing I had a complaint about was when I checked my credit card the night of, I got charged twice but it was eventually removed. I would go back!

A friend recommended Sugared + Bronze to me because she heard how much I was paying for spray tans and insisted S + B was not only the best in the city but the most affordable. I made an appointment online for an express tan because I had a wedding Saturday but had to work Friday night. They have a new client promo, two for one (50$). I showed up 15-20 mins early but they took me right away. Lauren sprayed me with great attention to detail, More so than the previous airbrush tanner I had been seeing for $100 per express tan. I was in and out in 20 mins, with a card reminding me when to shower. She described it as a custom tan you can choose your level of darkness by however long you leave the solution on (1-4) hours. 1 hour would be a subtle glow and 4 hours equivalent to your end of summer tan, or post vacation. I initially decided on 2.5 hours bc I have light skin tone but a friend with similar coloring told me she leaves hers on for a full 4 hours every time so I left it on for the full four hours. The solution isn’t very sticky like others I’ve had in the past and I was told to rinse until the water ran clear, which I did. After you rinse, you’ll look like you did before the spray tan because the makeup is gone but the color develops over the next few hours. I applied powder makeup, as to not hinder the development of the tan and went to work as a bartender. Even though I continuously had water splashed on me, the tan came out perfect. My only complaint is that on my chest, I had some clogged pores and after extracting them, I lost some of the coloring. All in all, 5 stars and I’ll definitely be signing up for their 2 a month express tan membership for 70$.

The spray tans here do come out very well. They are dark, and the color is great. However, the technicians always hold the spray gun so closely to your skin that the solution begins to pool on your hair follicles and skin. With so much solution being sprayed (they seem to over spray locations), the pooling solution makes it hard to dry and leave without having to blot your skin down. Hands and feet being the worst outcome of this spray method, as its super noticeable (photo attached). Bummed because I don't really trust anywhere else, and came for an event. **Update - they reached out and were so apologetic about the results on my hands. Offered me a solution to get rid of it and offered a refund. So incredibly nice and thoughtful.

I’ve been 3 times for a sugar Brazilian Wax, and 2 out of the 3 were great. I think one of the ladies waxing me the 2nd time was a bit inexperienced with the wax and broke a lot of hairs which caused my hair to ingrown again. 3rd time I went back to my original location near 14th street and didn’t have the same issue. I called the salon a few days ago to set up an appointment and ask some questions regarding pricing, etc.No one answered so I left a voicemail. The VM was very detailed with my name, number, questions, etc. Several days later and still no one had returned my call. I called again. Still no answer.... sad :..( UPDATE: A few weeks after writing this review, the GM of the company reached out to me from California to extend her apology to me in light of the incident, which I thought was very kind and thoughtful. When I first heard of S + B , I thought it would be one of those overpriced, overrated salons so I wrote it off. Something compelled me to go on their website (after a bad sugaring experience at another salon) and I the first thing that floored me were the price points. $39 membership for Brazilian sugaring? $39 for airbrush. I'd been paying $65 plus tip for years for an inconsistent spray tan that more often than not came out with splotchy hands and a lot of hours spent googling how to remove tan streaks. I decided to make an airbrush appointment and was so impressed with the experience and the outcome. They have such a meticulous way of spraying and they really sculpt you as you go, asking you to lift your heels to sculpt your calves, flex your arms to get some definition in your arms... I've tried all levels of tan at this point, they've all come out fantastic. I've never had an issue with streaks or stained hands. The color is always natural, never orange and lasts. I've tried both the Express and Standard solution, and while I prefer Express for the convenience of getting to shower sooner, the Standard comes out just as natural and at the color I desire. S + B seems to frequently run promotions for free tanning services with trainees, and after taking advantage of the free tan about 6-7 times now, I honestly can never tell the difference between a trainees tan and a professionals tan... the solution and the application is that great. This airbrush is the biggest steal in Manhattan. The only "negative" experience I had when coming to tan, is that I came in for a free airbrush, expecting to get the express solution. When I got there, they said only standard solution was allowed on that particular day. I was unable to get the standard applied due to scheduling for that day, and after expressing this, they honored it. I use the term "negative" loosely because it was a miscommunication and they ended up giving me the express like I had originally desired, but I will say it's a very busy place, they have lots of staff, and after all I'm coming in for a freebie, so it was gracious of them to let this particular one slide considering. Because of that experience, I've been on top of calling them to ask if both solution types will be available on the day of the free session, just to make sure it doesn't happen again. But again... hardly negative...because they gave me what I had wanted and they didn't really fuss over it. As for the sugaring, I do the Brazilian with Kelly. She's so quick, I think my record for one appointment was 7 minutes?? If you're curious if it hurts, yes, its uncomfortable..pop some Advil before, but you'll survive. Especially with Kelly. She's fast and talkative so she gets your mind off of it. And at $39 a month for the Brazilian if you do the membership, it's a steal. Results have always been great. After only 4 times, it looks like I got laser removal. Hair grows in really fine and I don't mind it between appointments because its sparse and thin. This place truly exceeded my expectations, I'm a very happy customer, and can't believe I almost passed this place up.

My actual spray was decent but the bottom of my feet are BLACK!!! I was instructed by my spray technician to use barrier cream on my feet, ankles, knees and elbows. I then asked where the stickers or flip flops were for the bottoms of my feet. She said I can purchase flip flops for $3 if I like but it’s not necessary because if I stay on the two mats in the treatment room my “feet would be fine”. I even second guessed her and asked her “are you sure that my feet won’t be black” because I have an event I’m going to? She reassured me it will be fine just stay on the mats. I ended up not being able to wear the open shoes I bought for my event last night because I was worried someone would noice my freaky feet. I wore a high heel bootie that didn’t go well with my dress. I have been getting airbrushed tanned for years. I’m also an esthetician who has preformed countless spray tans. I have never heard of or seen a tan studio that makes you pay extra to have your feet not turn black! Either the mats were dirty and saturated with solution or this is just a total money making scheme so the customers purchase the rip off flip flops. Anyway now I know and next time I’ll bring my own stickers.
