April treated me to a phenomenal experience during my first ever visit to SBA. Her years of practice were evident in her bedside manner and technique. She was constantly informing me about the process and telling me what she was observing. All of my fears were eased and I felt like this was a place I could frequent for treatment. She explained my facial anatomy in layman’s terms and I understood everything she was doing from start to finished. I did not experience any bruising from the procedure. She has truly perfected her craft. She is surrounded by a great team to whom I am appreciative. They provided me with a natural look that I am beyond pleased with. Dr. Eubanks is a level headed physician and skin care specialist that won’t try to convince you of procedures and “solutions” you don’t need. She patiently heard what I had to say and reasonably prescribed a sustainable solution. I’m thankful for my time with her!

This was my 1st experience with botox. I came in a little bit nervous, but Doctor Bruce and her assistant Cassie were wonderful. All of my questions were addressed and answered fully. Cassie spent a good amount of time talking to me about the procedure that I had done, along with potential services for the future. I appreciate that they advised me to start out conservatively and see how I like the results.

Before I say my reasoning for the rating… the office is very nice, everyone that works there is very friendly, the booking process is simple and they have free coffee. I have been to many dermatologists before, specifically for acne. I had hopes that this one would be a bit above my expectations because of the reviews. My adult acne onset about 5 years ago. It used to be pretty bad but has cleared up tremendously. Now I only have a few ocasional spots, some enlarged pores and these cyst/enflamed pockets near my eyebrows that always fill up and I’ve never been able to get rid of. Even with every topical, oral medications and laser treatments. I was hoping that this office would do something a bit more proactive and try to drain or open the painful nodules. The did not even touch examine them, just looked at them. And the very FIRST recommendation was accutane… I know some think it’s a miracle drug and it can be for severe acne but believe me what I have is not anywhere near severe. They even recommended this before looking over my chart, I know because they would see with the medications I’m on I can’t take accutane. They then proceeded to tell me they’ve never heard of something like that being done (opening/draining/removal) while one of the other reviews specifically mentions that’s why they liked this place so much. It was the same interaction I’ve had a thousand times concerning acne but this is the first time they haven’t event physically examined the area to see the inflammation. Like I said, everyone was very nice and professional. I really liked the assistant that worked with me. But it made me a bit sad that even she said she wanted to go on accutane after working with this attending and was excited…of course I didn’t physically examine her face but her acne didn’t even look that active. It was all a bit disappointing and discouraging. I’m glad other people had a good experience here but honestly it was just another pointless rehearsed visit for me and below that even. I would rate it even lower but the office is nice, as well as the people like I said.

Before Dr. Megan Couvillion came in to see me, Cassie, the Aesthetic Consultant came in and explained what I should expect at the appointment, then Dr. Couvillion came in and she was very patient and kind in explaining about several options for what I was there to inquire about. I’m a big fan of SBA - I first came to SBA in high school (20+ years ago) with acne concerns. It’s always been a great practice! At 33, I started working with Marcela doing toxin and filler. She’s so great to work with! From the beginning, I let her know my areas of concern and things that made me self conscious. We have continued to address those areas and I feel more confident than ever in my face… now it’s more about maintenance and resurfacing! I mainly see Sonia in the spa for laser hair removal and dermaplaning. Kayla is also exceptional in the spa. The staff is always friendly and tries their best to be the most helpful. I always look forward to my appointments at SBA. Who doesn’t want to look younger and feel amazing?

Front desk representatives are nice, polite and friendly, the waiting room atmosphere is pleasant but the appointment time wasn't respected. Had to wait for extra 40 minutes to be seen by doctor and get a 1 -2 minute consultation.

I came in to see April for lip and undereye dissolving. April explained everything to me so well and she’s also very knowledgeable. I’ve done dissolving at other clinics and they hurt like hell, but April concocted this magic juice to go along with hylenex and to my surprise I didn’t feel anything at all. Dr Gantz is absolutely incredible. She is so knowledgeable and literally fixed a skin issue I was having for 20 years!!! I can't tell you how many dermatologists I have seen. They all would prescribe stuff that was expensive and never worked. Dr Gantz prescribed something that was over the counter, very affordable and easy for me to order. She truly cared about helping me, and didn't prescribe BS pharmaceuticals that were never going to work!

I was so glad to see his name when I recently googled dermatologists and that he was back in Houston and centrally located off of St James Place (we arrived there quickly via Westpark tollway and Chimney Rock). I honestly had a pretty good experience getting MiraDry at SBA. Dr. Gantz is pleasant and polite and the pain is tolerable after numbing. However, I was off put by the pricing situation after my treatment. I honestly had no idea the practice had changed their MiraDry pricing, as this was never communicated to me by anyone. When I went to check out I was caught off guard when the women came up to me talking about old pricing vs new. I was sent an email by SBA about a discount on a re-treatment, which I didn't seek out. Why proactively send advertisements to clients who aren't eligible? Plus, nothing in your fine print mentioned that either. Just a really crummy way to feel leaning the office.

Everyone was very nice and professional. If you are thinking of laser hair removal I would definitely recommend SBA Dermatology. A detailed history was taken prior to using the laser to ensure no damage to my skin was done, and the specific laser needed for my skin was selected based on my skin and hair (to be removed) color. Everyone’s pain tolerances are different, but I have a low pain tolerance and it is VERY tolerable. Like didn’t even flinch, and I was done in 10 mins tops. Pricing is very competitive and reasonable, packages are offered.

I went in because I’ve had a cyst for years, I’ve visited other dermatologists for this exact reason and they would always just prescribe me with antibiotics. Once I stopped taking antibiotics my acne and cyst would come back in the exact same place every single time. Dr.Powell was the first dermatologist who drained it in the first visit and gave me a long-term solution for it. He suggested accutane to try and stop my cyst from coming back and also help with scaring. His assistant, Lyana, was extremely informative and explained the process throughly. Very exciting when nurse introduce this to improve my blackhead in nose with hydrafacial. I did it at the last day in 2020 and looking forward to have a bright skin in new year. However, due to I arrive 6 minutes late for the appointments, they cut my treatment time and quality. I only got 20minutes treatments, thus it was not careful, it can improve the blackhead, but only half of my nose got improved. I felt nurse moved vacuum probe too fast, not gentle at all. My face skin got little peeling after few days after procedure. This is my first time to treat my skin, and I did lots of research and want to find a good place for long term maintenance. I understood I was late, but the whole experience in treatment just disappointed me.

My small concern was that the staff (photographer on site?) did not take pictures before my first session. About 6 months ago, I started getting dark circles. They were pretty bad and a lot of people started asking me if I got enough sleep or if I was sick. I tried everything to fix the issue. I started sleeping more, elevating my head while I slept, and bought a lot of expensive eye creams and serums. Also, I went on online to find natural cures (i.e. parsley juice, cold spoons, black tea bags), but nothing worked. Last Friday, I received a dark circle treatment using a filler. I watched a bunch of online videos and was nervous. However, I'm glad that I chose Ms. Marcela Ramirez, a nurse practitioner, because I didn't experience any issues - no bruising or swelling either. Instantly, my dark circles went away. My only regret that I waited so long to fix the issue - and got green stains on my bed-sheets from the home-made parsley paste remedy. Now when I look at people, I really notice their dark circles and if they were a friend, I would refer them to Ms. Ramirez. (I also received PRP microneedling facial the same day to get rid of prior acne scars. It took 3 days for me to finally recover/heal, but the results are noticeable. Can't wait for my 2nd and 3rd facial).
