She walked me through the whole process, while also making small conversation to distract me. I gotta say it was a little painful, but definitely MUCH less painful than waxing. French sugaring and mini kitty with Michelle, the latest esthetician to join the salon. She was considerate, gentle, reassuring, and friendly. All the other staff was friendly and provided quality service. After I was done, Sara (rhymes with Zara, like the upscale Spanish clothing store on Michigan Ave) helped me check out. The salon itself is beautiful and squeaky clean, which I loved!

Update: it’s been awhile since I have visited and Vanesa was great! She was very understanding and accommodating with the wax session. Every employee I’ve encountered has been so friendly and knowledgeable about the products they offer for after-care and before-care items. Definitely glad I discovered this place! Scheduled my first Brazilian with Marielle and she was awesome. She made me feel extremely comfortable throughout the whole process. Will be back again - if you are on the fence on trying sugaring, just take the leap and try it out!

After waxing for years, I tried sugaring here for the first time last month for eyebrow shaping (and tint). I was impressed the first time, but my second visit with Marielle locked me in as a regular. The amount of care and dedication she put into perfecting my brows was exceptional. Everything about this salon is excellent, from the warm greeting to the products offered to the high professionalism of the staff. The exfoliating mitt is a must-have!

if you get brazilian waxes and want less pain this is the place to go. I was going to hard wax salons previously and it was extremely uncomfortable and painful. I’m currently pregnant (sensitivity in that region is at an all time high due to more blood flow) and sugar waxing has become my best friend. Taylor is my specialist and she helps put you at ease by chatting so your mind is taken off of what’s happening. I am not in pain after the sessions or waddling like I would coming out of hard wax and strips. The facility is cute and clean— I can’t stop recommending. 10/10!

The salon was sparkling clean, and they made me feel super comfortable. I got a Brazilian sugar wax from Vanessa, and she was skilled, thorough, and a delight to talk to throughout. She used powder and numbing spray, and used several different types of sugar wax from wax warmers in the room. Sugar Pop is a non-tipping salon, so when you factor in the 20+ percent you would have tipped (and you should!) at one of the chain waxing salons, it's a really good deal. You end up paying a bit less for better service! She cleaned everything up nicely, and sent me on my way with a goody bag of chocolate and samples. A+ experience!

Everyone was so nice when I arrived. I got my first ever Brazilian done with Vanessa. I didn’t know the difference between sugaring and waxing but Vanessa explained it to me. I am very glad I did sugaring instead of wax for my first Brazilian experience. I will likely never get a wax. Sugaring is said to be more gentle on the skin as the sugar paste does not adhere to the skin only to the hair so it is less irritating than wax. I have sensitive skin and expected irritation and redness, but the sugaring really does work. I didn’t experience redness or irritation at all. If you’re worried about it at all, I would say try sugaring instead of wax and see how you deal with the pain. Yes it was painful, but not nearly as bad as I thought it would be and once it is over you realize the results are totally worth the pain. It isn’t as bad as it seems. I walked out of there very happy and comfortable. 100% recommend this place. I will be back!

Beth was amazing! Really takes her time with you and goes above and beyond just providing a sugaring service and teaches you about your options and even how to apply makeup to give you the look you want! Would highly recommend Beth and sugaring to those who have not tried it! Not sure why everyone is not sugaring yet as it is much more gentle than wax (I have bad reactions to wax and had not problem with sugaring). The women at the front desk was also super friendly and excited about the customer experience. Great experience at Sugar Pop!

Typically you are skeptical of going to a salon without a personal referral especially for something as intimate as waxing. But I felt very comfortable from the moment Sara greeted me on the phone as well the moment I walked into the Salon. The Salon was clean, friendly and welcoming not only by the staff but a few of the patrons that were waiting in the lobby. My waxing experience was nothing short of fantastic as Vanessa was very informative, gentle and effective. She did a beautiful job and I am scheduled to go back for my follow up waxing with her. I've been trading my waxing to sugaring for quite a few years. At the time it was not easy to find a place that offer sugaring instead of waxing (brazilian). I thought my sugaring experience was good enough - until I tried Sugar Pop, then I realized how much more amazing sugaring here is! I'm not even sure what's the difference. Perhaps the product used? Perhaps the skills of the esthetician? Perhaps both? But I definitely have found my forever sugaring spot (unless I move out of Chicago, of course). And, definitely get the mini kitty, ladies! (aka facial for your precious). I don't even know how I could survived all the waxing and sugaring I've done in the past without a mini kitty following afterwards. Your precious part will thank you.

Beth and her team are awesome! I have eyebrows that got over waxed in the 90’s and have been trying to get them back ever since. Beth has shaped my eyebrows to look fuller and symmetrical with my eyes. They use a method called sugaring that lessens the chance of breakage so your skin stays smoother longer because it grabs it from the root. I would say another bonus when getting a bikini sugaring it doesn’t hurt as bad as waxing :-) they do offer waxing if you don’t want the sugaring method. All around awesome place for hair removal and they have great products available for purchase!

Best waxing experience! Beth is very knowledgeable and has the best technique! Definitely the most comfortable waxing experience I’ve ever had. I have been coming to Sugar Pop since it first opened with Beth and I am so happy for its expansion. Sugar Pop is a very easy going and unpretentious experience. It is always easy to make an appointment as they offer online booking. This is the only sugaring boutique I have gone to that doesn't make you feel bad for having to reschedule or push appointments to later times given they are available. All the technicians are efficient, in tune to their clients, and most importantly they know what they are doing. They take their time and are VERY meticulous with every service. Sugaring can be pricier than conventional waxing but the attention to detail, painless services, and knowledgeable staff makes it worth the money. Not only do they so a professional job, they are passionate about it. This is also a no tipping boutique so the price you see is the price you pay.

Visited yesterday and was greeted by a sweet receptionist. One esthetician was in front greeting another customer and they seemed to have such a great rapport, it was nice to see and made me feel more comfortable! Vanessa was my esthetician for my appointment and she was so sweet and professional. Vanessa made me feel comfortable and talked me through the pain! She mentioned that there's a numbing spray to ask for but I wasn't notified ahead of time. Please ask for that if you can! Also street parking can be a tiny challenge so get there a bit early to find some!

I'm 8 months pregnant and so safety is extra important to me these days. Sugar Pop was great. It was clean and efficient. First time sugaring and started with full legs! Not for me, but the experience was so great I came back to try a Brazilian. I am a convert! They offer a complimentary numbing spray, which may have helped a little, but sugaring felt so much less painful than waxing. And my skin wasn't irritated whatsoever...I was shocked! Sugarpop Salon is an incredible place for all your hair removal needs. Michelle was so efficient and thorough, and I've previously seen Vanessa who is also incredible. Highly recommend the Mini-Kitty after intimate sugaring as a way to feel pampered and to soothe the removal areas. I will never go to another place for my hair removal needs.
