We had the best time here this morning! Played the whole course, then visited the clubhouse after. The employees we encountered were very friendly and eager to please. We even got to meet the owner and his staff. Got some awesome souvenirs and will definitely be back!

Played here on labor day. Course is still in rough shape but you can tell they are putting some work into making it better. Hole conditions are hit or miss some looked decent some not so much. Some greens are still pretty bad and some tee boxes are filled with weeds. This is a $45 course at best. If they continue to work on the golf course it could be back to looking really nice in another year or two.

Course is in good shape. You can tell owners are investing in quality. Staff always friendly and it’s obvious they want you to have a great time. We play here every other week and really enjoy it. Also, the clubhouse pub makes a great cheesesteak!

I started playing at Patriots in September of 2022. I got three other friends to play at Patriots on one occasion and we all liked the course. We’ve played there a half dozen times since then including last week January 18th and had a blast. With the staff, beautiful course new construction of electronic driving range, new putting greens being built and pretty bar maids at the 19th hole the course has become our favorite in the area.

Love the wide openness of the fairways. I lose less balls then at other golf course's Staff is very friendly and my Nephew loves it also. It's a 5 star in my book.

We had scheduled 3- foursomes to play the day after Thanksgiving. Most of us never played here before and it had rained all morning from 6am to 11am. Our tee times were 11:10 & 11:20, and we lost one of our foursomes becuase 4 people though it would be to wet to play this course. Not only did we thoroughly enjoy our round of golf, but the course was in excellent condition for being late fall and raining all morning. The greens dried out within an hour of playing and by the 4th or 5th hole we couldnt even tell it had been raining. We will all be back to play again very soon.

Played 4/10/21. First time playing here after years of driving by, and poor word of mouth. It is very apparent they are working to correct the previous turf condition concerns. Fresh sod in trouble spots and what looks like some green changes. Very pleased with the layout, a nice challenge. Greens are in decent shape for early spring. The bunkers looked a bit rough, however, there was a storm the night previous to my round there. There are wet spots. Its a relatively flat course, so if there has been heavy rain lately it will be swampy in some spots. Definitely worth a look again this year if you had previously been turned off, but keep in mind there are improvements being made.

The new management of patriots glen really has things figured out. The course has come such a long way in the last year that 90% of the bad reviews are no longer relevant. As an Elkton resident of 20 years I am thoroughly impressed.

Good time this afternoon at Patriots Glen greens were in good shape although a little bumpy and slow. Fairways were winter conditions as expected. Definitely will be back to play again.

The new owners are really working to make the clubhouse a destination. If you golf it's a nice course. If you want a nice place to grab lunch or a drink after work. It's a hidden gem. I used to live in the neighborhood. If the clubhouse had this atmosphere when I lived there, I would have been there regularly. If you live close, it's worth stopping by. ALWAYS ASK ABOUT THE SPECIALS. The menu is very limited, but the specials are worth asking about.

Course looks a lot better than it did last time I played. Greens are mega slow (you might ruin your putting stroke trying to get balls to the hole), bunkers are in bad shape, but fairways and tees are looking better than when they closed. I'm sure with time it will look more like a premium course, but right now it is not worth the prices. $35 for 9 holes on a weekday after 5 PM? Definitely not worth it with the conditions. Hoping they haven't priced themselves out like the previous owners, but I'm not so optimistic. Membership prices (according to the website) are also astronomical for the way the course is playing. Love the layout but wish the owners (or whoever controls the prices) were a little more self aware.

My son and I had a great day. Course is just a little bit rough but you can tell the new owners are improving it daily. Absolutely loved the layout. The bar is great and the hot dogs were the best. We will return on a regular basis.

This place has been renovated and is really nice. Met owner a few times and is an awesome guy. Course is fun and challenging. Bar and restaurant is really great as well.

Not a terrible course. 2nd cut was ridiculously high. Many balls lost unnecessarily. Tee boxes were ok. Some greens had some rough spots. Bar area is great. Pro shop is dismal, just a large shed. They have golf surf boards in addition to the normal golf cart. They looked fun, but I did not try.

Recently held a family surprise birthday party here and the event went great. Easy parking, Staff was very accommodating, and the food was great. Overall great experience.

My friends and I play every week, sometimes twice a week. The new Super ( from Cavaliers)is really trying. The greens are better than they've been for years. I can see a concerted effort to make it one of the best plays in the area. Bunkers, one at a time, are improving. Tee boxes also. Layout is challenging but very playable, no matter what your handicap. Staff are very accommodating, facility is clean, carts run well ( a bit expensive for members) and pace of play weekdays (early) is definitely the way to go, if you're retired. Give it a try. You won't be disappointed.

It's like having a driving range, putting green & 18 hole golf course all to yourself. Plus the bar & grille has good food & fairly priced drinks, w/ friendly staff and a relaxed atmosphere. Rarely is it busy, so the staff is usually attentive & service is quick. I'd like to see them do more business, so they could thrive and maintain things to a higher standard, but selfishly I also enjoy the fact that it's never crowded. I really hope they fix the cart paths for the 2020 season. The driving range needs time dedicated to upkeep & new golf balls as well. Tip: The back 9 seems to be in a lot better shape than the front 9. I imagine the latter gets far more use, so it shows more wear-n-tear.

*Update- May 2019* The course has dramatically improved since my prior review last year. Great job to the staff and all of the groundskeepers for doing an excellent job in bringing the course around. I have been playing over the last few months and each time I return the conditions have noticeably improved. All of the tee boxes and the greens are really looking good (If only everyone would fill or replace their divots), and the fairways are in the best condition I have seen them yet. Keep the carts on the path whenever possible and it will continue to improve. Some bunkers still have drainage issues and need more sand but I'm sure they are in the process of working on that. Definitely a gem of a course that has the best value and one of the best layouts of any course I've played. Don't worry about the previous negative reviews because this course is really shaping up and if you try it you won't be disappointed.

This is a pretty mediocre course, A very good place to go to when your game isn't exactly where you would like it to be. It's a decent play for anyone with a handicap above 18. I've played here for quite some time now and the prices seem fair. The course could definitely use a little love, specifically the greens because people don't repair their divots. but to do that, the price would need to be raised. So I'm happy with the way it is. I play this course more than any other course strictly based on price. It gives me plenty of practice to improve my game. On a side note, I've never had to wait due to slow play. That's something I enjoy, unlike most other courses.

1st time playing this course and it is a hidden gem. The layout is great with plenty of trees, wooded areas and dogleg lefts and rights to make it challenging. The course is in pretty good shape except for a few burnt greens, but I would definitely recommend playing and will be back.

Played today for the first time. Had an absolute blast! A lot of reviews I read mentioned the poor conditions of the course, but for the price, it's not that bad. Could use some updates, but if you are looking to just work on your game and play 18, I would definitely recommend trying it out. Will definitely play again!

I want to start this review that I'm not a great golfer. I just like experiences and this place has plenty to offer especially with their GolfNow rates as we played for less than $25! Everyone was Soo friendly!!!! Drinks were ample and not bank breaking. The lay out of the course is beautiful BUT.... Obviously some of the greens and fairways need some love but it's winter and cheap so who's complaining!!!

I played here after I got a good deal on golfnow. The driving range is probably the best in the area, range balls are a good deal if you buy more than one token at a time. The course was in good not great shape, some transitions between fairway and rough/ teeboxes and fairways were a bit bare. However the greens and tee boxes where in solid shape. The hazards are well demarcated and the bunkers in great condition (something other area courses don't seem to attend to). The layout of this course is great in my opinion. The lack of randomly placed tall grass really makes the round more enjoyable. I can't comment on the bar/drink prices as I didn't make use of it. It's true the facility is just getting back on its feet and for that I give a little bit of a break on some of its weak spots because it has a ton of potential.

I played Patriot's Glenn today after it had rained a little bit overnight. The course doesn't drain well so it was soggy. The course is coming back but will need more time to return to it's past conditions. The tee boxes and fairways are spotty and at least three greens were basically unputtable due to bare spots and weeds that have been treated and are in the process of dying. The rough was US Open rough with the grass actually bending over. I lost three balls that drifted a few feet into the rough. They went to the bottom of the rough and were covered by grass. Little sand in the traps too. Here's the dealif you want a recreational round to practice your shots, Patriot's Glenn is fine. If you demand really nice smooth greens look elsewhere. If you want pristine conditions you will be disappointed. That being said, I played for under $30 bucks and went around in 3 1/2 hours and had a great time. I'll be back in the Fall when conditions will hopefully be better.

Played today. Course was in good condition. Slightly tight fairways and well groomed greens.Staff was very friendly and constantly rode around to make sure game play was kept up to pace but not too fast. Even the grounds keepers were polite and courteous when you played near them. I will definitely be back in the near future.

Played June 2016. Same now as it was before it closed down for a few years. Rock hard greens and fairways that get pretty bare - for whatever reason, they've never been able to grow much grass on this course. Driving range is still pretty crappy, but it at least has grass; putting green is as bad as the greens on the course (if not worse). But, the layout here is great; we deal with the bad conditions by just playing lift & place on the fairways. It's deceptively hard from the back tees. Very fast pace of play - even on weekday mornings, there are maybe only 5-10 groups out at a time.

Course is definitely in need of some work, but is in better condition than it was a few years ago when I played there. Arrived prior to tee time to check in, no one in the pro shop for 15 min. Had to walk arou d and find a staff member to come up and check us in. No credit card charges with the beverage cart kinda sucks...cash only.

So I just started playing golf here this year and when I first played it it was rough. The owner wes and hugo both explained to me that the course is coming around and by memorial day 2015 the course should be 100% I played the day before memorial day and I absolutely loved it the greens were rolling 100x better and the fairways were looking good. The tee boxes are looking great. I read a comment that someone posted a week ago saying the the course was a dump but my experience is completely the opposite I absolutely love this course and recommend this course to anyone and everyone!

It rained yesterday so I expected the tee boxes to be muddy, but the traps were full of water and the greens were maybe a 4/10. Shouldn't be charging full price for almost un-puttable greens.

Have never played Aronimink or Merion. Nor do I want to. If you're a hacker like myself who is happy with a few beers and shooting 100, go here. Last weekend we saw greens that were in good condition and others that were not. Seemed to be same as far as fairways and rough. There was evidence of maintenance. They do need to do more though.

Needs work. Bunkers very iffy. Fairways blighted in places. Prices and pace of play very good. Usually get off without a teetime, if in a rush. Greens about 80% ok. For $20, it is what it is.

The newly hired chef at the club house restaurant is amazing! If you're in the area stop in for something to eat or sign up for the upcoming clam bake the second weekend in October. You won't be disappointed!

Learned to play golf at Patriots 5 years ago and fell in love with the layout until an unfortunate closing. While it was closed, my game bloomed, as well as some trees on the greens on the abandoned Patriots course. Present day: it's truly unbelievable how much work had to be done in 16 months to bring Patriots back to life. The new owners have lifelong experience in the game, and their commitment to this project is evident. Great things are happening at Patriots Glenn National and I am proud to be along for the ride and part of its history. It's been a hot and dry summer but with some help from Mother Nature and Old Man Time this course will be a "must play" in the Tri-State area soon enough. Cheers to the staff and please be patient local golfers. It will take an investment from everyone to reach the excellent potential this golf course certainly shows. - JS
