Reviews of Inniscrone Golf Club
Thank you Amy and company for a fantastic day of golf! Your course is fantastic! It is a hidden gem and everyone who loves golf should play here!
Having played several other area courses around the same price point, I found Inniscrone to be one of the best maintained. The conditions have been great the handful of times I've played with a couple exceptions. The worst problem I found was the hole 9 tee box. It is pretty much bare dirt, but I could see they were working to repair it. They recently poured new asphalt to repair the cart paths on the front 9. The fairways are very well kept and the greens are smooth. I have enjoyed my rounds here and will continue coming back.
They have a small driving range to warm up or practice. Their putting green is large with some small slopes making for good, realistic practice. The pro shop has been closed due to COVID, but at this point it should be reopened. You check in and make all your purchases from a window.
If you come to play in the later part of the season, be prepared for some unfortunate odors. While you think it may be the sewage treatment ponds bordering the course, it's actually the mushroom fields in the area. It's nothing major, but definitely noticeable.
Some of these reviews about poor maintenance are surprising to me. I played here for the first time last week, and I found the fairways to be in excellent condition. Greens were also great and the bunkers were above average for a public course. The rough was difficult, but it certainly wasn't unfair.
I echo the comments about the physical smell of the course and most of what I've read about the difficulty. I don't know why it stunk so badly, but we could smell septic discharge or something over much of the course (and it is a very large course--as others mentioned, you often feel like you are the only one on the course and can't see any other holes from where you are)! The course has a 127 slope rating from the green tees, but I found it played much more difficult than that. It felt more like mid 130s to me. Several holes require long carries, and I felt like I was hitting into blind shots on many holes. Without a spotter, one should expect to lose a few balls that they think should be pretty easy to find.
The layout is unique and interesting. Overall it is a beautiful course, but also very demanding. If that is for you, then so is this course. As for me, I won't go out of my way to play it again (too difficult for me), but I also wouldn't turn down a good opportunity if it presented itself.
Have played here a few times and each time it gets better. The conditions continually get better and this last round the course was in probably the best shape I have ever seen it in. On top of that I truly enjoy the layout of the course. It’s tucked away, scenic and has many challenging holes. Will definitely be back
The course conditions were much improved since we played last year. Tee boxes are rough, but fairways and greens were fine. Definitely gets a merit badge for improvement. Still needs work but hopefully they will continue to improve
Overall the experience was great, like other reviews the smells there aren’t the best and if the course is wet, it appears they let the greens grow out….. it’s a great course as far as the layout goes. Could be improved a bit with some tree removal which will allow for more airflow to help the tee boxes and greens stay a little drier. I would return if they put a little more effort into the grooming. The staff was great and very courteous. Price was on point for the shape of the course. Speed of play was great. We finished under 4 hours.
One of my favorite courses. Very challenging but enjoyable golf course.
Went to the driving, but I've player the course many times. The driving range has a nicely kept grass tee area. You can also grab a beverage while you practice. Not many targets to hit towards on the range, but that's not a big deal. Staff was friendly and overall we enjoyed our evening of hitting golf balls.
Maintenance of the course has improved in the past two years. The greens are good sized and were fast with some undulations. If you are playing from the middle set of tees, you'd better drive about 230 since there are 3 par 4 holes over 400 yards and 1 at 399. Scorecard reads 5800 yards, but one hole is only 86. The rough can be punishing and there are side hill lies throughout the course. Fairways are watered at sunset and were still very moist at noon, with almost no carry with drives.
Course is challenging. I have seen quite a few complaints about maintenance on here feel it maybe a little unfair. I will say that for someone who’s not used to long cut rough it may seem like lack of maintenance but to me it seems to be course design. Fairways were pristine. Greens showed signs of a previous disease problem but looked to be under control and overall give the greens a solid B for condition. A Few holes anything but a straight drive of 200 yards or more will be punished severely.
My only complaint would be maybe the rating and slope on the card would indicate an easier playing course. My favorite thing about the course is that it’s massive. No back and forth fairways etc. That coupled With 15 minute intervals on tee times you literally feel like your the only 4 some out there most the time even on a busy day with a packed tee time sheet. Back 9 of the Course kicked my butt I’ll be Back for redemption.
A great, challenging yet enjoyable layout of a course, with a few holes being maybe a little extra challenge for the average golfer. But you will use probably about every club in your bag through 18 holes. It hasn't been in the best shape in recent years, not in the shape it could be in, not sure why. Its affordable, playable, and worth it if you're looking to try a new course. I will say it would be nice to see it in a lil better shape, but even so, it will still get 5 stars from me everytime. Very nice course
Played Inniscrone on 5/23/20. The course was in awesome condition. Course is tough and you have to be accurate off the tee or you will have a very tough time making par! The only thing I would like to see is players repairing their pitch marks on the green. Overall great day and will be back. Highly recommended this track. The price is extremely fair, $52 on a weekend at the end of May, um yes please. Great course
I consider this my "home course" for lack of actually having a membership anywhere. The layout is my all time favorite with many forgiving and many challenging holes. The conditions are never amazing but never horrible either. I usually try to get a "hot deal" on golfnow so the price feels more fair for the conditions. They have a nice chipping/putting area and driving range. Pace of play is usually pretty decent, but I've definitely had some slow rounds here, can't say I've ever seen a ranger out on the course. The staff is hit or miss in terms of friendliness. Some aren't really "rude" but definitely not the warmest personalities either. Overall though I really really like playing here, and would love to be able to afford a membership, but the course conditions would have to improve for me to justify it or giving it five stars.
Recently played at interscroll last week under new management Everything is looking great greens are great fairways great even the rough is cut shorter Great staff 5 star review
Great golf course! We loved it. But not for the faint of heart. You must be precise on a lot of the holes. Bail out areas are few and far between. Gorgeous fairways, greens and tees. A must play for sure. Bring extra balls and a sense of adventure.
Great value for a very good course. If you are thinking of playing the gold tees - play the green tees instead. You will enjoy the round much more. Bring extra balls. There are several "ball magnets" throughout the course. Fortunately, I found more than I lost. I would play it again, if it were closer to home. On my "roadtrip" scale, I would rate it a 5 out of a possible 10. This means, it is good, but not good enough as a "destination golf course.
Very nice, well maintained golf course. This was the first time playing the course. The greens were in great shape but very tough. Not a course to take a beginning golfer but the average player can play this course. The staff was very helpful. It was worth the drive from Drexel Hill, PA (50 minutes).
This is a fun course, even for an infrequent golfer like myself. The staff in the clubhouse was nice and took time to chat and joke with us. The course is well maintained, always had people on it and is slightly challenging. I'll definitely be back.
Very challenging golf course. The driving range is a little petite and you get your golf cart by your car, load it up, and then drive to the clubhouse (because it is across a very scary small bridge over a creek). During play you cross one road but it is not a busy road.
Great course this was the first time we played it some holes were challenging the course was well maintained the staff was friendly and helpful the starter was great told some pretty funny jokes and seemed genuinely happy to be there will definitely play this course on our next golf outing
Probably one of my all time favorite golf courses in terms of value and course layout. They've been under new management who has done a great job of making modifications to the course that make it more inviting and vastly improved the pace of play.
Decent course to play but not for seniors. Too many hazards in the fairway which requires 200 yard drives. There is an urine odor in the air on the back nine from the sewage treatment plant.
Love the course! Before heading to the course, put your course management skills in your bag, because you'll need them. Friendly and professional staff. Worth the DRIVE. Pun intended.
Course was in great shape and staff was very professional and courteous. Great layout and very challenging. Must play a few times to know best way to play.
Great course for the price. Challenging but fun. My go to in the area for twilight golf and the random weekend round.
Pretty nice course for the price although some fairways had a good deal of wear and tear. Staff was extremely friendly. If you're not from the area be ready for quite the odor from nearby mushroom farms
Rustic course with some interesting and challenging holes, others looked like cow pastures. Some of the tee boxes needed to be mowed better, like the mower blade was dull.
It’s a easy front and a tough back. Challenging but humbled you really quick. Greens are great and fairways are fine- worth checking out for sure!
Great condition. Many holes are risk reward. Greens are generally in good condition. Fine Tracy, some level, allot of up and down holes
The course is coming back in condition. The various tees make it seem like a different course each time you play by forcing use of alternative clubs. Pricing is fair.
The greens are in perfect condition, the fairways are well groomed and best of all the staff is very friendly even after all these trying times.
The club manager was delightful and incredibly informative regarding golfing at Inniscrone.
3.85. Please cut down all the uncessesary fescue, the course is hard enough already. Some teeboxes and greens need attention. Otherwise, a surprisingly challenging course.
Awesome course to play. Every hole is unique in its own way. Fairly priced, and always well maintained.
The course layout is good but the greens and tee boxes where in terrible shape.
This course can find you in dangerous shot spots off the tee.
Every par three is a challenge.
Loved it.
Tricky lil course that really makes you think about each shot you take. Def. One of the better municipal courses around!
Good course. They offer coolers of beer to bring in your cart. Very handy.
For me, this was a difficult course. The extreme heat today didn't help any. Greens and tee boxes need some work.
I little quarky layout on the back nine. Decent conditions, but players need to repair their ball marks on the greens.
Challenging golf course! The greens and sand traps need work, but I would come back and play again!
Tough course, cart path only didn't help
Flooded bunkers when it hadn't rained for days. Tee boxes are beat to heck in spots.
Course is always in decent shape, and a nice challenge. Prices very reasonable for the area.
Good course, well run and maintained, very difficult and long though!, friendly staff and good experience
golf course is nice and affordable.
Nice layout and good condition. Greens need to be just little faster and it will be perfect.
Really enjoyed playing this course. Very nice.
Great rates, great course (very challenging testing your game), and a friendly, knowledgeable staff!!
Course is great shape. Excellent Value for the money.
Best golf course in the area, with equally good food service, all reasonably priced.
Tough, beautiful course and great prices. Will come back, staff is great.
Had a great time played fast and got a good value thru groupon.
Good shape for end of winter. Should be in great shape come spring.
Good tract but always a little wet and a couple of holes are tricked up.
Always a nice place to golf and normally the rates are good.
My son lives on property with his lovely wife and my beautiful granddaughter, very nice there
Great track, odd tee coloring but must play
Great place to shoot some holes, in a warm friendly neighborhood and environment.
Didn't find this Gil Hand course up to expectations. Didn't hate it just didn't fit my eye.
Golf course is in great shape and the staff is very friendly
Nice course not bad shape for February
Very challenging. Fair shape. Good price $20
The best in the area. Great course. Great people.
I love playing here, great course.
Don't like the flushed holes but understand it necessary.
Some tough holes, tight fairways. Beware 17, she's just mean.
Very nice course, well worth the trip.
