Reviews of Blue Mash Golf Course
First time playing and it was a very well maintained golf course.
Very impressed with the quality of the rough for a public course and the greens were as good as anywhere, hats off to the superintendent. $17 for a XL bucket of balls and there's a practice green for chipping and putting.
Definitely will be back again, great golf course, great value
Blue Mash is easily my favorite course in Maryland. The course itself offers a fun and diverse layout of holes. The course is always in immaculate shape and the greens roll true and fast. Besides the great course and excellent course conditions, all of the staff is always extremely hospitable and welcoming, which is not something that can be said about most courses. (The food and drinks are also amazing.) The manager, Sam, has gone out of his way on several occasions to ensure that my group is enjoying the round and truly cares about the experience of every golfer. I would also be remiss to leave out the fact that Blue Mash is reasonably priced and is a lot cheaper than some other “high-end” public courses in MD, such as Whiskey Creek, which does not even have as good course conditions. Anyone from the DMV area should put Blue Mash on their list of top courses that are worth playing multiple times throughout the year.
Loved the course! Very well maintained - each hole has a unique feature- challenging but not diabolical. Greens still settling down after a recent aeration but still able to be predictably putt. Good value and will be back for sure.
Best public golf course in Montgomery county hands down. Grass driving range (balls are a little expensive as a result) and plenty of putting and chipping space. Every hole that isn’t a par 3 is a driver hole and super open fairways so it’s pretty hard to lose balls. Carts all have gps on them which is a super nice feature. Very removed from any roads and gets super quiet with beautiful views all over the course. Will be returning to play frequently.
Course is good once you are into the middle of the front nine and the middle of the back nine. Opening holes on the front, back and closing all have the annoyance of roadways, power lines, driving range and clubhouse. Golf nirvana is achieved for about 7 or 8 holes out of the 18. Its okay. I would actually play here more than once a year if they had the ability for single golfers to play. Not sure of this strategy they have as all the other courses allow singles to play golf.
Comfortably the best condition public course in the DMV. A joy to play with the fall colors in the backdrop on a beautiful Sunday for golf.
Pros
- Greens are fantastic, they’ll hold a ball and run fast and true
- The layout is enjoyable for folks who don’t boom it off the tee, lots of short par 4s to make you think but there are some challenging holes too - 11 is a tough par 3
- The price point of $79 for a twilight round is great value for the quality of this track. Appreciate the electric carts w/GPS too.
Cons
- Pace of play was slow, took 4h40m & we finished in darkness. Didn’t see a marshal all day; would recommend they do a better job at tee time spacing or have a proactive marshal working weekends.
Overall this is easily one of the best courses in the area, Worthington probably more challenging for a low single digit player but you’d have some fun here even if you are a low handicapper.
Blue Mash is an extremely well marshaled course for the pace of play. Marshalls sit at key points on the course where slow play may occur and serve as a visual reminder to keep up with the group in front of you. Most rounds we have played there are between 3.5 and 4 hours. Excellent experience.
Leaves are a big issue now and they have been taken care of VERY WELL. Greens were in great shape. Slow play seems to be the only issue we encountered. Keep up with the group in front of you seems to only apply to those of us that actually know what GOLF ETIQUETTE really is. And they won’t let you play through. Overall it was great. Jimmy exceptional as always.
First time playing this course after hearing great things from friends and family. Great layout, and course was in great shape. Highly recommend. Lots of marshalls out and about making sure pace of play was up.
Mostly play at winter times in past few years as summer rate is too pricey for me. Long and wide fairway. Big greens (fast). A lot of holes with water especially the back nine. The ponds does show a blue reflection in winter time as the name of the course indicates. Beautiful and great golf course.
Played again 11/22/22. The course is in great shape with great winter rate from Teeoff. Love Blue Mash.
Good links style course. Really reminded me of the courses I've seen Rick Shiels and Peter Finch play, haha. I played on a rainy day in early January. Due to the soggy cold weather, only the green tees were put out which was fine by me. Still a challenging course from that distance. Overall facilities are good condition: the range is wide and long, putting and chipping greens were also in nice conditions.
It is possible to walk this course as it is mostly rolling hills.
The Breakfast sandwich was delicious.
My only quip with the course is the location (olney, md) but nothing anybody can do about that. To me, this course is worth the drive.
I'd rank this course 1 or 2 among the public DMV courses (arguably, the number one course being Laurel Hills).
Will be back.
On a frosty morning they got things back of track quickly. When one of the golf carts topped working, a replacement was provided within minutes. Pleasant effective people run this place.
Always a good experience. The course is always in good shape and generally in excellent shape. Staff are good and they have a decent restaurant with Stella on tap. The all grass range is the clincher which is why I've frequented Blue Mash since its opening in 2001.
Wow! Played here today walking in some horrible weather. The course was in incredible condition regardless of the 4 days of rain prior. Incredibly kind and cheery staff. Will most certainly play here again!
What a wonderful course. I love the hills and the open fairways. Sam is the absolute best! Also the pro-shop is loaded with deals. Check this course out asap.
Great track. The conditons where great from tee box to green. Challanging where needed but fun for all levels. Greens are very challanging or maybe my putting was just bad that day lol. Pace of play was right on time. Would defientely recommend playing here.
Great time good atmosphere hung out with friends would go again
First time playing and it was a very well maintained golf course. Very impressed with the quality of the rough for a public course and the greens were as good as anywhere, hats off to the superintendent. Only complaint is that irrigation water stinks and the starter didn’t really help getting me situated. Had to approach him myself with questions about where to go, who I was paired with, what cart to take, etc. Definitely will be back again, great golf course, great value
11 of us played 3 nov everything was perfect the ranger even stopped to blow leaves off every green............great staff a really nice ranger retired lcmd in navy then spent 20 for at the agency.............a wonderful day ; severna park to blue mash much quicker via I 200 to georgia ave.............do miss this place!
The BEST course in Montgomery County by a longshot. Well kept, friendly staff, and some challenging greens.
Love Blue Mash!! Great course is always perfect. Outstanding Short game area and grass range.
Most of all super friendly staff and wonderful food.
Also, they are extremely Junior Friendly which means the world 🌎 to me as I have a 12 year old son that Loves golf. My son Leo loves it there and everyone knows him and they treat him great.
I really appreciate that!!
Highly recommended by me Tony Z
This is a very nice golf course— very well maintained and managed… staff is very professional and courteous….
Unfortunately it was slow when we played Sunday. Other than the first tee, waited to tee off on every hole. Friendly staff, the course was in great shape.
We love playing at Blue Mash. The course is always in great condition. They offer a level of service that is unmatched around this area. Great people, fun course!
Somehow, someway, they are keeping things green and rolling smooth in the dog days of August, and it is a very walkable course even in the heat, but it needs a few more water jugs on the tee boxes!! Back nine gets pretty parched with only one cooler on ten and one on 12. The beer in the clubhouse is still cold, tho. 5 stars!!
Blue Mash changed the trajectory of our high school team's golf season and their team were unbelievably accommodating in providing us incredible service throughout the fall.
I've been playing and practicing at Blue Mash for 15 years+ now and this was my first season helping to coach a local high school team.
The grass driving range, chipping/approach game area and the putting green are an unparalleled practice facility for a public course. Helps that everyone who works there from the starters, to folks in the kitchen/bar, to the people at the front desk is their to make sure you get good service and have a great time.
And man-oh-man is it a fun start to play the first 3 holes from the tips.
Kudos to Blue Mash and their team. I'd give it more than 5-stars if I could.
I think it was okay. I live in VA and have been to better courses. I don't think it's worth the drive but if you are near the area, it's not bad. I think it was just okay compared to the other public courses in VA. Probably wouldn't go back since it was a 50 min drive for me. I would only go here if you have to only drive at max 30 mins.
Great golf course in outstanding condition. Pace of play was great. Played on a Monday morning and it was smooth going. Lots of grounds crew out and about taking care of the golf course in windy, cool conditions! Courteous staff as well. Will be back.
My 8 yo son and his friend have played Blue Mash multiple times, including summer camp. We can’t say enough about the course, so professional and well maintained; and the staff are so friendly. You could not achieve any better atmosphere for it has all the feel of a private club course in a public course. We love Blue Mash and can’t wait to visit again soon. Don’t change a thing!
The course is excellent condition for this time of year. Not many leaves on the course and the round moved a good pace
Course was in great shape and as always a nice challenge. Not sure I will be booking again though as I don't care for your booking policies. I had two persons from the course contact me after getting confirmed tee times and asking for my credit card info over the phone. On top of that one of the 8 rounds I scheduled was put on my credit card, which is not my preference, as I typically pay cash at the course. Might need to look at this, just my thoughts
Had the misfortune of reserving a tee time for 3 at Blue Mash this afternoon. They had a massive tournament in the AM: 100+ golfers putting everything out and cart path only. The staff just couldn’t get them off the course in time to allow those after the tournament to play a reasonable round. Kudos to them for making it good by offering either an 18 hole rain check or a refund (as one of our players isn’t local). Really appreciate the efforts of Dan (the asst manager) to do what he could to make it right. I left a satisfied customer who will be back.
Having played around the world, including a multitude of courses in the DC area, the is unequivocally as good of a golf 'experience' as I've ever had. Yes there are great practice facilities and yes the course is in great shape and a delight to play. But its the staff that is unparalleled. I've never been treated as well, visit after visit, and that includes some of the 'finest' courses in the world. I now live in the DC area and this is my adopted home course moving forward and I'm not going anywhere else, including joining a private club. Thanks to the entire staff for proving there are still experiences that stand above the rest.
Course in Great shape. Beautiful but cold and windy day. Can't wait to head out when the weather gets a little warmer. You pay just a little more than most Montgomery county courses, but it's worth it! Great spacing of tee times. Never had to wait and never pushed too much. Beverage cart was the only thing missing!
My foursome booked last minute via phone call and we got the perfect time. Course was and is in great condition. Would be nice if players would address their ball marks/divots on the green. Staff, carts andn play are just right. Thank you for enjoyable round
Blue Mash is a great track for sure. They have done a good job setting a golf course on a flat piece of land. Mostly open off the tee but there are a few holes in the lower area that are tree lined. I enjoy having both. The first four holes are a brutal start. I like that they softened the first hole a bit. The third is the longest par 4 and almost always plays directly into the wind. Plus the par 3 4th hole is a tough green to hit. Other standouts are a great risk/reward par 5 9th hole, a tough par 3 11th hole, a really fun par 5 12th hole, and another tough par 3 17th hole. The other two par 3s could use a slight design change that would really give this course the best set of par 3s in the area.
Conditions are generally good to great. After or during the rain, the holes on the back part of the course are really soggy. Some have had big drainage issues over the years. Most greens have a ton of slope to them and can be fun when it's playing firm and fast.
The driving range here is amazing. The vast majority of the time you are hitting off grass. But the golf balls as of late have been worn out. The chipping green is huge and has two bunkers to practice out of. The putting green is also big. Just a great short game area overall.
Definitely a great spot to play and practice. Well worth multiple rounds a year. The staff can be a little hit or miss from my experiences. It would be a good place to join, but the membership tee time rules are bizarre to say the least.
This is a great course, always in great shape. I love the combination of tough and easy holes. Love playing there. But like everyone else they now charge $101 on the weekends which seems ridiculous. On top of that they have the nerve to charge you for range balls after paying $101 to play golf. That is terrible management and seems greedy to me. I give the course 4.5 but not sure if I'll be playing there anymore cause of the cost. My group that I play w/ feels the same way.
Absolutely beautiful course. Friendly efficient staff. Bonus of driving range off of grass and nice perk to have carts that have GPS rangefinders and WILL remind you when you've lost track and strayed off path only holes lol. The deceptively wide open nature of the fairways was rewarding but still left me with some challenging angles and undulations that were "Oh. I thought I had landed a great approach. 😬🤣🤣" so I was never really "safe." Nice bunker placements that required playing within myself. I will definitely be back.
The course is in great shape. The food service is awesome and the servers are very friendly and helpful. The food is also great 👍🏼 …
I took my daughter and her friend, neither had played before. The staff was very accommodating to our needs and switched our tee time (with our approval) so no one played directly behind us. The course was in good shape and easy to navigate. We had a blast and will definitely be back.
Went to the range, chipping green and putting green. Grass on the range was nice, and greens were in great condition too. Wish they had more targets set up, there were only 4 set up the day I went and only one of those was within 190 yards. Also, the range balls were really poor. Many were either cracked, peeling, or so worn that the dimples were going away
Course was in fantastic condition. From the tee boxes, to the fairways, to the greens, everything was in great shape, very well maintained. Carts have GPS which is always a nice feature, especially when you are new to the course. They were offering complementary small buckets of range balls, due to a slight delay due to frost in the morning. Nice touch. Course itself was challenging bit fair. Wide fairways, greens rolling true. But good luck if you go in the rough.
Staff was all very friendly, shout-out to the bartender for a fantastic bloody mary. Ability to text in your lunch order from the cart and have it delivered was another nice feature.
Great day overall. Good spot for a "special occasion" day of golf.
Really beautiful and well maintained course! It had been in my radar for some time but never had the chance to get up there to play. Greens were true, fairways were lush, pace overall was good (expect a slight back up on 7-8 since they are cart path only, but nothing severe. Entire staff was helpful and genuine. Will definitely be back.
Nice course, greens in great shape and they have my favorite beer there. Big negative side, I could not hit my driver on the driving range. Never heard of this anywhere before and it really put a damper on the day. Needless to say, my driver sucked that day. For a $100 day of golf you would think you could practice with your driver. I’ll come back but only if complimentary on the next round.
Course is in very good shape and always a great experience. This particular time, play was very slow, 330 tee time and took us almost 5 hrs to play. Unfortunately there were several slow groups and no ranger monitoring the course for pace of play. Wish there were more rangers to keep play moving.
Great Course and Service. Fabulous 19th hole area. Greens were in fantastic shape. Played 4 pm Sunday the 23rd. Rating would have been 5 stars with exception of 2 holes on the front and back nine that were log jammed about 10 minutes. Overall was fantastic and will go back
This is an absolutely beautiful golf course! I'm very VERY bad at golf, but hope to be decent some day.
Until then I'll just enjoy the beautiful weather and the COLD beer 🍺. But not too much beer, that makes golf much harder than it needs to be (it's already hard).
I play here 3 or 4 times a year and the course is always in very good to excellent condition. On a recent warm July Monday afternoon, it was quiet and I easily walked all 18 holes in just over three hours. . . and the course was its usual shape. Its not an inexpensive round, but the layout and conditions warrant the cost.
Had a great time at Blue Mash. Awesome course! What stood out the most was the friendly staff. Definitely will be back
The course is in very good shape and it's an excellent layout. It's a really good course with a nice staff and excellent practice area. I gave it 4 stars because one small thing that bothered me: they started singles on the back 9 between groups coming from the front. Nice to see they're busy, however.
Great experience today! We got off on time and played in 3.5 hours on a Friday afternoon. The course is in excellent shape. Greens were slow, to protect against the heat, but in great condition.
The grass range, putting green and chipping area are all in good shape. We will be back!
Staff are always great here and accommodating. Course was in great shape, greens were rolling true and fast. Fairways had a bit of roll out even though there was some rain recently. Nice replay discounts too!
The course is in excellent condition this year. Also appreciate the fantastic job that Dan, Jeff, Brady and the team do each week. They are short staffed in some areas but it’s a great layout.
I had a fantastic time playing your course. The staff was very courteous and the course conditions were outstanding. It was disappointing to have to play cart path only, but given the extreme heat in the area, it was the right decision.
Always love playing Blue Mash and yesterday (6/14) was no exception. The course was in great shape and the greens were fast despite all the rain the night before. Check-in was a breeze and the senior citizens rate (I paid $55) is hard to beat for an Arthur Hills design. The only reason I don’t play here every week is because I live a 40 minutes drive away. ;
I played the course Saturday afternoon (9/11). The course is in excellent shape! The staff is friendly and the driving range grass is awesome! Thank you for a wonderful afternoon!
Blue Mash - Great Course, Great Personnel, Nice Pace of Play. Btg Fan!
It was my first time playing here and the course was in excellent condition. Nice layout, decently challenging with a mix of longer holes and shorter risk/reward par 4s. Definitely recommend if you live in the area.
Blue Mash is truly a beautiful golf club. If you prefer to practice off of real grass, you'll enjoy the driving range. The club house is very nice and has a bar. The course is quite often in solid shape.
Great customer service! very good layout ! I will definitely go back soon.
Great course, always in great condition. The staff very friendly
Nice course, wide open so you don't have to be worried about spaying shots everywhere and losing them. Slope of the course shows it's not too difficult. It makes up for the friendly fairways with fast and sloped greens which still make it a challenging round to shot low. Fun course to play and speed of play was good. Water on back nine is perfectly set up so you can warm up a bit before that challenge.
Great shape for this time of year. Ball marks on green we’re unnoticeable especially compared to other course. Pace could be a little faster, but was a great round. Also, love the course setup bc I hit every club in bag except 1
Blue mash is a fun and challenging golf course. I have been playing here for many years now. Besides the beautiful layout the staff keeps it in consistently great condition. The club house is modern and welcoming. The staff are friendly and helpful. I’m always impressed by how the team keeps the course in great shape.
Course is in great shape. The tall grass was cut down a lot lower than usual but that was fine being my first time out this season. Also, there was some maintenance on hole 8 but again not a big deal. My tee shot always lands in the huge sand trap anyway so I got a free drop. :)
Driving range was in good condition and as always, the staff was professional and friendly.
I don't make it out to Blue Mash often, but I had some free time and thought I'd give them another shot. It was exactly as I remembered, conditions were very good considering all the rain we've had recently. The staff was very helpful and friendly. They even honored the web rate of my green fees I saw. Highly recommend Blue Mash as one of the top golf courses in Mo Co!
This is my home course where my leagues plays and we consider it one of the finest courses around regardless of the price. You get what you pay for and blue mash gives you a lot. The best practice facility around, good clubhouse, great staff, and the course is in fantastic condition. Play it and you'll love it.
Course is in great shape and staff was very friendly and cordial. My only gripe was they started us on the back 9(no big deal) and pace of play was great, but at the turn somehow another group was able to start on 1 which then slowed the pace way down.
Love Blue Mash. Always a friendly place to play, but whoa, be ready for a challenge! PB Dye is nearby and is infamous for challenging greens...Blue Mash is a step above because the challenges are more subtle. Great course conditions, only thing I'm looking forward to is getting rakes back in the bunkers. Oh, and why won't patrons fix their damn ball marks on the green! Com'n people, pace of play is excellent at Blue Mash...take 30 seconds to fix a couple of ball marks. Your effort today is somebody's birdie next week!
By the way - text your order to the clubhouse when you are on the 8th tee and pick it up at the turn! The food is so good! Had a made to order breakfast sandwich and my partner ordered burger and fries....so good!
Would be nice if there was an easy way to pay over the phone to speed up the process at the turn, but it's a minor point.
Course is fantastic, and always in good shape for a public course. The pace of play can be really slow. Started at 1pm and couldn't finish before dark at 5:30. Wish they could push slower golfers a bit more to help with pace of play, but it really is a nice course in Montgomery County.
A wonderful and challenging course that has holes in the links style and holes in the woodland style. Accuracy will bring rewards. Placement is very important. Good to the eyes. Greens run true - get the putts on line with the correct speed and watch them fall. A good value course.🏌 …
As for someone who's worked in the golf industry for 23 years ,I can hands down say that this is a magnificent Golf Course. The layout is challenging, yet Fair. It has a variety of different looks off the tee. It doesn't play like a true links style golf course but it sure kind of gives you the sense with water and tall fescue grass being boundaries. And for a first-timer they're not a lot of blind shots on the golf course. Very straightforward. The greens are always very respectable too.
The staff at Blue Mash are some of the best I’ve seen at the many golf courses I play with family and friends. And the course is very well maintained. A real pleasure to play.
The Blue Mash golf course is always in good condition and a doable challenge for a golfers of a wide range of ability. It also has one of the best practice facility in the area.
An hour from Baltimore and kind of a different drive to get there, but well worth it. Staff was super nice, course was in awesome shape. Holes are kind of on top of each other so can be scattered at times, but a beautiful course for the price.
This is a solid course. I'll easily recommend to anyone that wants to play in the area. Its a little pricey, but it's very well maintained and worth it. The course sets you up with options to take risks or play it safe. I can't wait to play here again.
Course was in great shape and we played 18 holes in a little over 4 hours. Staff was courteous and helpful.
Played yesterday with my brother in law and a friend of his and they added a forth, young guy that could absolutely bomb it. I was the short hitter in the group, 240-250 hitter but had a great time, everybody enjoyed it. Course was in surprisingly great condition considering all the rain. Last time I played hear was over twenty years ago, did you switch the nines? Anyway, Loved it we all had a great time . . .my only criticism were your yardage markers, too thin and can't see the color from any distance. Suggestion, put a 150 barber pole in the center of fairway and put the others in the ground. I'll be back! Thanks again for a great day.
Just volunteered for a charity event and Blue Mash was so wonderful and accommodating. Everything was set up to our liking and the staff was so helpful and nice. I cannot speak highly enough of this business and it’s staff.
Tee boxes and greens were in decent shape. Brady in the Pro Shop provided excellent service.
Great course with some wide open links style holes as well as some tree lined holes. Course was in great condition too. Management and staff (especially Diego) were also fantastic as I misplaced an item that was found and returned!
Blue Mash is a wonderful golf course for all handicaps. Its plays firm, long, and challenging. It has a beautiful layout, two different style 9 holes. The greens roll true and fast. Its a hidden gem. They offer Team leagues, Individual leagues, Night golf, Memberships, etc. Blue Mash has good food and the staff is very accommodating. Blue Mash is a MUST play course in the DMV area.
Visiting from Chicago. Just played a round there yesterday, 12/31/2020. Incredible course. Fun and challenging layout. Great greens. This is now on my list of courses to play while out in the DC area.
The course and I arrived in Gaithersburg the same year, and I’ve been playing it ever since. It’s never been in better shape, and it’s my favorite walking course in the DelMaVa region around DC. If you survive the first three holes you’re in for a treat!
The course was in good shape for this time of year and everyone was friendly both in the grill and pro shop- will be back to play soon!
an excellent course with fairways and greens in great shape Very challenging from the blues for average length hitters with some 420+ par 4s (e.g., # 1, #2, #3). #17 is a great par 3 with little margin of error, slight mishit or not enough club can easily find the ball in the water; #18 nice 550 yard finishing hole, etc.... Keep up the good work!
Played Blue Mash for the first time and found it to be a great course. Challenging yet fair layout. The entire staff provided excellent service as well. Hope to get back for another round soon.
It is okay for a montgomery county course. In all honesty it is not any better than some of the other county run courses in the area. It is a little expensive for what you get. If I am going to spend around 80 bucks a round; I will just go a little west and play at whiskey creek or somewhere else. I play at Blue Mash when there is a deal or its late in the afternoon because its close by. The problems with it are the vicinity to the roadway, the power lines cutting through the course, and the driving range running along side number 12. Number 10 has you teeing off right next to the clubhouse and practice area. Also, it should be altered to have the 17th green as its green. It would be an awesome hole if it was setup like that.
I have played this course off and on since it opened. They have made the 1st hole easier than it was but extending the fairway. It was probably the right move as the design was a little odd to begin with. Number 7 used to have the tee box in a place that made the hole a much greater challenge...now its just a short iron off the tee on a 300 yard par 4.
Wow! tough and troublesome when least expected. Great conditions and well maintained!!
I used to work at Blue Mash and I loved working there. Recently I had my bridal shower there and they went above and beyond in accommodating every little thing we needed. If you have any events I recommend them as a venue!
I moved down the street from this course 2 1/2 years ago. I already lived in MoCo so I had played there a few times and all over DC Metro over the years. Since Blue Mash has become sort of a home course for me, I have to say that I'm constantly amazed at how consistantly beautiful/ great the course conditions are, no matter the weather. The layout is unique in that it offers both forgiving and "challenging" holes. The practice area is second to none to area public courses (huge grass driving range / free chipping and putting areas). And the staff is ALWAYS accomodating. Greens fees are a little high during peak times but I avoid that by checking their website or GolfNow for hot deals and/or play off peak. I've seen most public courses in the area and Blue Mash is in the 95th percentile. So glad they're just 4 minutes away!!!
Just wow! Sooo much rain this year and fairways are still running. Greens have a great firmness and were VERY true while putting with very few ball marks. I don't know why I haven't made the trip from Annapolis before as this is truly a GEM. Layout, fantastic, conditions, fantastic, staff, fantastic...I will be back!
Great course!! Love the layout! The Hybrid tee box (combo white and blue tee box) is perfect for those mid-to-high handicappers who want a little challenge. One of my favorites in the DC area!
Fantastic course conditions today. Definitely would recommend if you're visiting the area.
Awesome course, well maintained. Truly enjoyed my round. Seems all the pins were set for a final championship day. Loved the challenge and will be back!!
Blue Mash is one of the best courses in Maryland. It is a challenging course, yet a good course for the average golfer. The staff is very friendly and treats the golfers with respect. It is a must golf course to play! The location is also great for golfers from Maryland, DC, and Virginia. Membership is also available! 🏌️⛳️ …
Played today - great course in great condition!
Definitely one of the better courses in the area, half of the holes are wide open and the rest wind through heavy trees. Slightly more expensive than the average Montgomery County courses. If you aren't afraid of cold weather, try out some winter golf when they are running their temperature = price deal.
Very nice golf course except the annoying GPS system on golf cart. Too many holes are cart path only. GPS system beeps constantly when on fairway on cart path only. Overall nice staff and good course.
Giving it 3 stars just based on the value you get for the price. It's just an "okay" golf course. Conditions were ok, layout was not what I was expecting, but it's not worth $94 on a weekend morning when you have Worthington Manor, Whiskey Creek, and PB Dye just up I-270 that are much better and comparable in price.
Course is in excellent shape. Wide fairways mostly but some holes are narrow and a real good challenge. Greens are first rate. Course is above average challenge. Very attractive course.
Check-in was quick and easy. The course was in excellent condition. All 12 players in our group were thoroughly satisfied with the experience.
Great day - awesome service - excellent COVID19 protocols & a fabulous 4-hour early a.m. round of cart-path only golf. From parking lot to check in to tee off to finish and back to the parking lot for departure Blue Mash is the exemplar standard bearer across the entire National Capital Region. See you all again soon and Thanks MUCH!
Course is in great condition. New superintendent has made the difference and his hard the last two years have paid off. Staff is professional. Expect a fun day of golf!!
I like the layout. Course conditions were good versus some of the other courses I've played. Greens fees were reduced based on condition and recent aeration. I'll be back.
Course is in great shape. Staff is friendly and treats the customers really well. I brought a friend from out of town to play the course and he was impressed with the course.
This has become our new HOME course. It's easy for us to get to, rarely do we have to wait to get a tee time. One of the things I really like is that both in the spring and fall they alert you that they have aerated the greens. I have been to too many places that don't tell you until you're on the course. One place in particular in the Md area leaves holes 1 and 2 unaerated then you get hit from there on out. This course is well maintained even through it's heavy play.Ths staff is always accomodating and I have never had any issues there. Fact it, when they first opened I played there and swore I would never go back. There were no marshalls, and the pace was TERRIBLE. We had to call the club house to get someone out to see what was going on. That was WAY BACK.......I suggest you try this place. It's easy to walk, what you see is what you get, nothing tricky, no railroad ties or massive bunkers you can't get out of, well maintaned and fun to play.
Played this past Sunday and had a great time playing the course which was in solid shape for being so late in the season. Will definitely play again!
Very nice, very long course. Nicely kept, and very friendly and helpful staff. Played again this week. Course is still nicely kept, and pace was great. Really enjoyed myself.
Greens a little shaggy at the moment but I understand they want to protect them from burning out with the crazy heat we're having. Very friendly staff and overall course condition is fantastic.
Probably my favorite public course layout in the area. Awesome hole variety, makes you think strategically when the course is playing firm, and conditions are always good to excellent.
Course was in great shape & greens had some nice speed to them. One of my favorite courses!
Great round of golf! Very helpful staff. Challenging but enjoyable course in excellent condition. Looking forward playing it again.
Stunning course with mixture of links layout, elevation changes, and water holes. Challenging but fair. Far and away my favorite course!
The course was in great shape, especially the greens, but it was still far too wet in several locations (e.g., the fairway on no. 7). Also, several of the pin positions were in severe positions way to close to the edge of the green.
Service was wonderful. Pace of play for a Sunday was awesome. The course is in a very good shape. I would definitely come back.
Nice, beautiful and well managed golf course. Friendly staffs, specially the staffs at the bar and restaurant were extremely nice and friendly. I will definitely recommend this course
Excellent golf course, great food, and friendly staff. Absolutely will be coming back and recommend this place to anyone!
Pricey senior rates. You'd think as much as they charge, some proper and more defined Tee box markers could be provided ?? We totally missed the 1st tee ?? Fun time however
By far the Best . I wish I have started playing golf years ago. Became a little obsession of mine. The service is excellent and prices are decent. Definitely recommend
These folks are doing it right during the coronavirus. Course was in great shape. New for this season GPS in carts, ability to text in food and drink orders. Ability for such to be delivered on course . . . all big plusses.
Course is in great shape and has good COVID protocols in place. Challenging but still fun. Looking forward to playing here again.
Beautifully maintained, challenging, enjoyable course. All-grass driving range. Friendly staff.
Staff makes this a pleasant place to play or practice. The course is always maintained and adjusted to level of play.
While It's a bit pricey, we found Blue Mash's fairways and greens to be in great shape. The back nine is particularly scenic and challenging.
Golf is great at blue mash. Course is in top shape. Practice facility fantastic. I'll be back soon
Dan Henry helped provide incredible service and the course played well. I will most certainly be back
Had a great round of golf and then enjoyed a phenomenal meal in the clubhouse. Food was excellent! Highly recommend the crab cakes, best I've ever had!!
If you’ve never been here before than you’re really missing out. I first read about this place on yelp and I just had to try it out. A beautiful, quiet and serene environment suitable for all ages. This always the place I’m at almost every weekend.
Great course in great condition. The two young guys in the pro shop helped me out alot!
We had a great first time playing 9 holes. It was resonably priced and everyone was friendly.
Beautiful day, beautiful course. Fairways fairly easy to play but the greens were challenging.
Great course, very friendly and helpful staff, and the simulator option on a snowy day saves the weekend.
Great course, great staff.
Very well maintained. Great staff.
The course was in pretty good condition and so were the greens. The staff very accommodating. Thanks!
Greens and fairways are in great condition
Course was in good condition, except for the bunker on 9th hole. Greens were smooth, and fast.
Course was in great shape, service was great. Overall great experience. Will be back next year.
Driving range, putting green and sand traps were excellent. Nice surroundings, nice employees.
You guys have this really well figured out. I especially like the way that you have the flagsticks secured so that the ball can go into the hole in the same way on each hole. No foam to bounce off of --
Fun course and it is in great shape. Will play again soon.
A little pricey but the course is always in good shape, hilly with thick rough
Very accommodating staff. Course in great shape. Always enjoy a round at Blue Mash!
First-ever round there on Tuesday... Enjoyed it... Course in excellent shape.
Great course, in great shape. One the best public courses I’ve played in the D.C. are.
I did not get a chance to play but practice area and practice putting green was great.
Really nice and spacious driving range. Looking forward to playing the course eventually.
Course is in great shape and beautiful layout!
Fantastic course, links style. Very wide fairways, super challenging greens.
Front 9 in under 2 hours. A bit jammed up on the back. Course is in good shape.
NIce course, good condition & layout, but greens were way to slow
I love this course! I've been playing for 25 years, and it's clearly one of the best.
One of the best courses in the area, great staff and conditions.
I am a weekday member and I am treated just like I were a member of a high end private club. Great people!
Amazing condition, great staff and great practice facility. Greens were rolling super pure.
Great weekday experience. Extra crowded on weekends and not much down for pace.
other than the sand traps the course was in great shape and a wonderful walk in the woods
Course was in great condition with quick greens, fun to play.
Great practice areas putting, chipping and green. Couldn't ask for anything better.
Great condition, good pace of play, good mix of holes. 17 is a bear.
Friendly staff, course in great condition, fair but challenging.
Beautiful setting. Challenging enough. Greens slower. Will be back.
Great staff and beautiful course! A must-play if you are in the DC-area
Interesting layout, a little on the pricey side, but worth it if the greens are in good shape.
