Very nice course. The guys checking in were very nice and answered my questions as I haven't played here before. The greens were very fast. They were probably about a 13. There is quite a lot of water but manageable with targeted shots. Think about how far out your second or third shot will put you away from the hole for your approach shot into the green.

3.5 star course layout, 5 star course quality, 5 star operations - friendly staff, decent range (would be better if we could use grass), course was in GREAT shape! Greens were small... only complaint. Ran smooth, played in 3:40

First time here. Got a TeeOff deal for $39 on a holiday. The good. The staff were nice and helpful and the course layout is really challenging. Tight fairways and small greens always make for an interesting day. The bad, this course needs some TLC. Starting with the driving range and putting green. Rough shape. For the most part, the fairways were OK, but the greens were horrible. They had just been punched, but that wasn't the problem, some of them looked like Mortar practice ranges. Big divots without grass, big stretches of mud... just not in good shape. The drainage in the sand traps need to be addressed as well. Lots of standing water. I think with some real maintenance work, this course could be one of the best in town...mostly

Golf course is in good shape except for the last two greens. My biggest problem today was the playing time. Took over 5 hours to finish my round. Needs better course playing management on days like today. In all I will be back to play again. Fun course and challenging.

First hole fairway was soaked with all the recent rain. Cart died on the second hole, but was quickly fixed with a call to the pro shop. Course was in pretty good condition. The 17th hole was pretty sad. There must be a better way to put a temporary hole together. The price was right and everyone was nice. I’ll be back.

Course is in good shape even with the rain mucking up maintenance and plugging balls in the fairways. It may be the least swampy course in the area. Good customer service, nice layout of holes and a well stocked pro shop. Love it when I get discount greens fee.

First, we love the Cheval course. It is challenging, scenic and well maintained. My friend and I played yesterday and they can do better. We were given a cart which ran out of battery on the 12th hole? They brought us a replacement 3 holes later (we limped along and the battery read zero when we turned it over) and it had no GPS, no sand for divots and also barely made it back to the clubhouse? We will continue playing Cheval but please do better. We expect a lot from a club of this caliber and they didn't deliver this week.

Great! The course is not overly difficult. There is water are a lot of the holes, but, if you hit your ball right, you'll be ok. It's a real pretty course too. And it's reasonably priced at $70 per person. I really enjoyed it!

Played Golf here on Friday. They were way out in front and extremely honorable with social distancing guidelines, the course was in excellent shape, and we had a great time. Thank you so much for the first class experience, especially now. I'll always support this great golf course/club

Good course. Good layout. A lot of doglegs. Tough track when you do not know where to hit the ball (even with GPS). Course was a little wet, but did not have any restrictions (just a few spots that you could not drive). Nice GPS on the cart (would be great if all courses had them). Rough was thick. It was hard to find your ball if it ended up in the lettuce. We only saw the beverage cart once the entire round. It was a hot day so they need to have someone out there rolling more often. Other than that, I'll be out there again.

Brought my son over to play a round of golf. Was surprised to find all of the great improvements that have been made to this course and the facilities. The course is in great shape and very challenging. Afterwards, we stayed and ate lunch at the restaurant. Food and service were amazing! Can't wait to come back.

Very nice Golf course. So many great holes.. Its Paramount that you put the ball in the fair way. The approaches are very soft so you have to carry the green.

Great layout. Totally private so getting on is difficult if you're not a member. Lots of water. Menu is good. Servings are bit small but all and all it about the golf and the course is beautiful.

I made a tee time to play last week and the course was in phenomenal condition. The greens were rolling true and the price was very affordable. Pace of play was not a problem, and the Prime 19 restaurant was very convenient to eat at following the round. I would recommend this course and restaurant facility to all looking for a kind staff with a wonderful golf course in the Tampa area.

Living in Cheval it's definitely convenient to have this great place available within the community. Chef Gerry is definitely making sure to keep things fresh with his specials, as well as some good staples like the delicious burger. The bar is also great with a decent beer selection and good friendly service. I'd recommend this family friendly place to anyone.

Challenging golf course, quick pace of play, and the Starter is a great guy. In fact, he's an awesome guy and fun to talk to. I've been to this club 3 times, and plan to play more often in 2018. They are currently working on getting the driving range back as it's bound up in legal issues, and once they do, this is easily a 5 star location. The carts are GPS enabled, the clubhouse is top notch, and the greens are fast. Highly recommend.

Had the whole course to ourselves, the fairways were great and the greens were decent considering they were just aerated. The management clearly cares about this course. Would recommend to anyone.

Service is amazing! Love the atmosphere. True elegance, what you expect of a Country Club. Noticing folks playing golf & seem to be having a BLAST. Pro shop has a nice variety for men & women. "Prime 19" restaurant & bar...work of art. Highly recommend a visit.

We had a wonderful fundraiser event here in March for the Carrollwood Service League. We had an amazing lunch for 162 guests prepared by the awesome Chef followed by a beautiful fashion show and huge silent auction. Krista was a pleasure to work with and covered every detail for us. This was our 3rd year hosting our annual event at Cheval and we hope to return next year! The flow of everything went beautifully and the presentation of the meal was outstanding.

Great course spread out over a big area. Lots of woods/nature areas in between holes that help to spread out the different groups. Golf carts have gps, bluetooth, yardage to pin, and can call the office or beverage cart to you. There's a driving range (lake with floater balls) and chipping/putting area. Greens were pretty quick today but some tee boxes need more grass or need to move the tees to a more grassy part of the tee box. Lots of wildlife, I saw a gator, rabbit, and a ton of birds along the course. Would definitely recommend playing a round here.

Beautiful, challenging course with friendly staff. GPS unit in my cart didn't work, and routing from one green to the next tee was not clearly marked a couple of times. Lots of water, be sure to bring extra balls!

We hosted a Tea Party Bridal Shower in Cheval’s Sunset Room. Everyone raved about the food. Chef Gerry prepared an exquisite High Tea complete with an assortment of scones, tea sandwiches, and desserts. Even the side salad was special! Dina and Krista made our event so easy with their attention to detail in the set-up and excellent service. In addition, Krista was very accommodating as we struggled to schedule a safe and socially distant event to include larger tables, masks and hand sanitizers. We cannot express our appreciation enough to Chef Gerry, Krista and Dina. Thank you for making this Shower such a success!

Love this place and would highly recommend it to everyone! Cheval Golf and Athletic Club is my home away from home. The Tennis Club offers 9 fully lit and well maintained Har-Tru clay tennis courts. The club is well-managed, so members can always get a court. The tennis instructions as well as private lessons are truly phenomenal not only for kids but for all ages. The pros are well-informed and care about their students improvement while making sure the classes are incorporated with fun drills and exciting games. Kids love it! The classes are great for after school kids activities. This club is one of the best places in the area to take kids to. They are getting stronger every week and you can see results almost right away. Great place to involve the kids into sport. The club also provides after school programs and camps. Also, their fitness program is fantastic with more than 60 group fitness classes and personal training. The fitness instructors are very kind and helpful and they make sure that you can attend your favorite classes by providing different times throughout the day (check for yourself) . Cheval Golf and Athletic Club is located in a great and beautiful location, only about 25 minutes to downtown Tampa. All of the facilities have been incredible and the gym is always clean. The staff is always so welcoming and accommodating. It is always a pleasure to be around. Five stars to this Club!

Course is basic! And I mean basic. Layout ok not a great track. Not challenging at all! Greens ok smooth but the tees and fairways were not In Great shape. I wouldn’t pay for membership here at all! People great service great! Oh no Driving Range. Land dispute with courts. TPC is better as is Saddlebrook. Not worth $255 a month for a membership Course is semiprivate now because it’s not great. Disappointing

You need to come and see all of the amazing improvements to the Cheval Golf & Athletic Club! Being under new ownership has brought many new updates and exciting changes to an already beautiful facility and course! There is something for everyone at this course. They have recently added an adult par 3 course or junior par 62 course. The yardages per hole range from 92 - 176 yards. They also added a golf course at 5,300 yards in length. These additions will give Cheval GAC a total of 7 sets of tees. Something for everyone!

Nice layout. Always in great shape and the speed of play is ALWAYS under 4 hours. There is nothing I can say about Cheval that hasnt already been said. This is one of my favorite local courses.

Its pretty good for golfing; But you need to have someone that lives there to be part of it. One down side was the clubhouse... It definitely needs a remodeling done.
