Reviews of Summerfield Crossings Golf Club
Held our 5th annual Charity golf tournament here. First time using the course for the tournament. Best costumer service we have ever had! Jason and his team do an amazing job of managing the course, ensuring all details are in place, and are fabulous at timely and thorough communication. Highly recommend!
Great people and management! We have spent most of our visits at the clubhouse, enjoying delicious food, friendly service and great drinks! The course is in a great community and has a couple of really interesting holes. Our first experience was not stellar, so I’m glad we gave it another shot - this place has become a home away from home!
I was impressed by this layout just south of Tampa. Played in New Years golf tournament there. Had great character to the holes and the greens were in good condition. Many thanks to the staff and server's there today. You all made it a great day!
We hosted our annual fundraising event at Summerfield Crossings Golf Club last week, and I would wholeheartedly recommend booking your event here. Jason (General Manager) and his team were so tremendous throughout the planning process leading up to the event, had wonderful suggestions to help us in our efforts to raise money for our fundraiser, and adapted to whatever change arose on our end. Day-of was a huge success and the staff could not have treated our party of more than 80 players any better. MOST importantly, our event lost its caterer four days prior to our Sunday event and Jason and his team came thru with on-site catering without blinking an eye, and if you’ve ever planned an event for that many people and had something like that happen last minute, I have no doubt you understand what a huge SAVE that was. We will definitely be back for future fundraising events!
Great course and staff. My only complaint are the practice facilities. They want you to hit off matts most of the time but the matts are trash and need to be replaced. Very rarely do they let you hit off the grass tees. Last year I used to visit the range 2-3 times a week. I won't be visiting the range until they fix it. They can do better.
This course has definitely made improvements. Greens are true and slick. Overall course in pretty good shape. Will play more often.
It’s great for the breakfast buffet, hidden little gem. Sometimes the staff is nice. It’s $12.95 for breakfast buffet- good breakfast options. I think the buffet ends at 9:30am but you can still order off the menu after that. You don’t have to be a member of the summer field club or housing addition to eat here.
Even if you don’t play golf you need to try their breakfast!! A buffet with more than you could ever ask for. They also have a menu if you’re craving something they don’t have out.
The area looks well maintained however I have not tried the course.
Held a little outing at Summerfield Crossings and the tournament staff was fantastic to work with. They are able to accommodate both large and small groups. I was able to set a menu with the kitchen and the staff had everything hot and ready for when the round was complete. The course is in amazing shape, staff was friendly, and food was amazing. For people looking to host a tournament, I suggest Summerfield Crossings. They have an online scoring tool that had a digital Leaderboard scrolling on multiple televisions while we were eating lunch. It felt like we were on the golf tour.
Great greens and fairways and no crowds! Offers some challenging holes but a novice like me can still enjoy the course.
Booking new tee time soon.
Great golf experience!!
I liked it so much I joined as an annual member
Decent golf course. Free driving range. And not to expensive. Very scenic course as well.
Great course and conditions. Staff is friendly too
Fun corse greens lightning fast. A real challenge
Nice little hidden breakfast spot staff was nice and food was good!
Absolutely great golf and a great club! Just really unfortunate how rude and uncaring the bar tender was when we went. She was really the opposite of hospitable.
Good course. Doesn't seem to fair well when it's rainy. Was car path only the last time I played which made for a long round. In either case it was an enjoyable course. Friendly and helpful staff. The restaurant and bar were great also. Will definitely play here again when it has not been raining.
Normally it only takes 3:45 mins on average to play it took 5 hours and 4 minutes to play not typical. Maybe it won't take as long next time. The course is in good condition. Look forward to next round.
Very good round of golf. Pace of play was great. The layout and challenge was good. Staff was friendly. Value for the money was great.
Nice track for the rate.
Greens were really fast but in fairly good shape.
Fairways are in their winter mode.
Would play again
Not a tight course
Really fun course, but man I wish they would work on the greens. Not sure what some other people are saying positive things about the greens, they must not golf anywhere else. They are like concrete and bare of quality grass, and of all parts of a golf course you shouldn’t have areas of disrepair it’s the greens. Some parts of some of the greens are bare down to the dirt. That should be unacceptable for a any value of course is the greens. I still rate a 3 because we love the open layout and the play of the course and the design. Some challenging but fun holes but nothing that makes you want to quit golfing lol. I enjoy no matter where your ball lays you have a decent shot at the green or fairway (unless you are in the woods ha ha). The mix up of 5s, 4s, and 3s are nice. It’s also a Great price and overall value. I truly would want to come here more often it’s a very fun course but the greens are still a thorn in our sides. To be honest my large Group of friends stopped playing here earlier this year because of wretched green conditions, especially in comparison to similarly priced courses in the area (example: Bloomingdale, diamond hill, Apollo beach, and cypress creek). Now they seem a little bit better then earlier in year, but it’s still the one thing holding us back from being our primary choice for a round of golf.
Course was wet from the night before but still in good shape. Staff was nice, they had a beverage cart which was appreciated, some courses stopped doing that for the time being. It was our first time playing here, everyone enjoyed it. Good value.
First visit here. I played the black tees, written up as 5779 yards. That means that most holes are reachable in regulation for the average golfer. I found that to be true, leading to an enjoyable round of golf. I think the layout is pretty and interesting. Very good conditions, very nice staff. Although there was some back-up at times, our threesome played 18 in 3.5 hours. Nice - I want to go back -
We recently held our annual RHS banquet at SCGC. Jason and his staff were amazing. The food was excellent, the staff was very accommodating to our needs, they were fun, too! I would HIGHLY recommend SCGC for a banquet, party, wedding, etc.
We will be back next year!
Course itself is three stars. Excellent layout , greens ok some bare spots, tee boxes ok a few not level, fairways and rough very playable. The people that work there were very nice the restaurant and bar was excellent after my round . Yes, I would recommend this course for a fun day .
This place has exactly the type of Sunday brunch I was looking for and even better, it doesn't break the bank! Children 10 and under can eat for $6.95 and adults are $13.95. It was recommended to me by a neighbor and it did not disappoint. Be sure to try The omelette station and the Belgian waffle with whipped cream and strawberries. My only complaint was that service to remove plates, get refills and get the bill was a bit slow.
Fun course and maintained well... most of the time. The tee boxes tend to be rounded and fluffy instead of flat and tight. Also, the greens and have several burn/bald spots. That being said, they are nice and reasonably priced.
The only thing that needs work is leveling the tee boxes fairways are in great shape greens were impeccable fast sloping but very true lunchroom good place to have a drink afterwards
Went to Summerfield today to play golf .
The course was in great shape. Ed and I played 18 holes. We didn't score well but we were outdoors and playing golf after two months. The crew was very helpful and great to deal with.
This place ain't bad for golf. They don't get mad that my family takes ten years to play nine holes because we all suck at golf and spend more time with the beer cart than actually golfing. Reasonably priced stuff. Wear a polo and khaki shorts.
Riverview 1st Friday's food truck festival was amazing! Follow me on IG @kingdomfitlife for more details
Generally, reasonable pricing, decent fairways and tee boxes, nice course layout. the greens are hit and miss.. when they are good they are good but lately they have been not so good.. bumpy, rough, bare and brown spots and pretty hard.. forget any wedge shots sticking.. give it a few months and some water and the greens should play better.. Good course in the summer.. you can't got wrong.
Played the course for the first time and found the pace of play to be about average for the area. Greens were in pretty good shape, fairways were well maintained, rough was challenging but fair and most bunkers seemed like they hadn't been groomed for at least 4 days. Too many bunkers were not raked probably due to the fact the rakes are supposed to be on the carts but our cart didn't have one and we didn't notice it until hole number 5. Price is competitive for the area.
Sunday brunch: It is a nice place people are very friendly and the food is good. The omelette station has anything you want for an omelette and the waffles are fresh and very good the fruit is fresh. They have many other good items as well. The Sunday brunch buffet for breakfast starts at 900am until 1 pm. The staff is very efficient and kind.
Hillsborough County veterans helping veterans have had their golf tournament there now for 4 years. Jason is always very easy to work with. Tries to do everything he can to accommodate. Nice course plays well.
Went for an outing on a Tuesday. Unfortunately we got rained out after about 9 holes. The course was very, very accommodating. We got a chit towards our next round of golf and the staff was able to serve the meal earlier. Very nice staff
Nice golf course. My son is taking lessons here and the staff is nice and the course is nice and we'll maintained. His instructors are very informative and and great guides for his golf instruction. We will continue coming here for golf.
I have been to Summerfield once to golf and countless times for meetings, Sunday brunch, lunch or to meet someone for a quick drink. First thing I want to mention is this is a family owned small business, something that is not very common with golf courses.
I know nothing about golf but the one time I came to golf with some friends it started with a lesson that was excellent. The instructor asked me about all sports I had played and was able to show me how to swing and what to do based on what I knew about other sports. While golfing it was obvious to many that I was new at it and I stopped and let other golfers play through. Many of the experienced golfers stopped to politely give me some pointers and recognize my efforts. The kindness of the other golfers was what I truly loved about my day golfing.
The Sunday brunch is excellent they offer eggs / omelettes made to your liking. They will use egg whites and non-stick spray instead of butter for the pan. They over many sides and fresh made waffles made while you wait.
I had the great pleasure of scheduling my large group of golfers for an event at this course. James Gottschalk & Jason Blanchard lead a top notch team that made the whole experience smooth and fun! The course was in excellent condition. Hole 15 will make you a believer! The beverage cart kept us hydrated at great prices. Once inside for prizes and placement, the bar and grill served up some tasty food and the bartender served up drinks as fast as they could be ordered. We will definitely be back again and again.
I personally just go for the country club food. I know ppl who love to golf there and think it is a wonderful course. Everyone in the restaurant is super nice and friendly. They take time to a totally know who you are and are very respectful to there customers. They have the normal breakfast for there buffet and they do your eggs or inlets how ever you ask. I recomend going if you have a free day that you'd like to go eat a nice breakfast talking to ppl you know and care about, then after go on a nice golf trip.
I love this Golf Course its always clean and neat and the staff are very respectful and funny. Its a pleasure to visit this establishment. I would recommend all my family and friends to go golfing here in Riverview Florida. Thank You, Sincerely Connie Yates
Good layout and fun course. Fairly well kept and good pricing. First Friday of every month there is a food truck rally with music that has a great selection and lots of places to enjoy the food.
This place is a hidden gem! My wife and I played there today and were paired with another twosome. We started on time and finished in 4 hours 10 minutes. The course has a sufficient practice area with driving range, practice green, chipping area, and bunker practice area.
The layout- Each fairway has a pole at 150 giving you a great aiming point and the course is well marked with typical red, white and blue disks as well as distances on sprinkler heads. We found the layout to be very diverse with doglegs both right and left, some shorter par fours, long straight par fours, water in likely miss areas and bunkers protecting the greens. The par threes were challenging yet parable... The island green on 15 is worth the wait!
Condition of the course- We found the tee boxes to be in good condition, the grass was cut and pretty flat for the most part. The fairways were in great condition, easy to hit off of and well maintained. If you found the rough, you could play out of it near the fairway, is was a little more challenging near the greens. The greens at this course are some of the best shaped and undulating that I've played in the area. They were soft enough to hold most approach shots and they rolled true and were fast. I'm not sure if it's a fungus but something is trying to kill some spots on most greens, I could tell that they are working on the issue but it is worth noting. I was very pleased with the greens over all. As for the bunkers, it rains here a lot this time of year so they appeared to be a little hard and dirty, luckily I wasn't in any bunkers and my wife only found herself in one fairway bunker.
Overall perception- Why 5 stars? I'm not sure you'll find a better layout, or condition of a course in this area for less than around the $30 we paid. Yes they are fighting nature on the greens right now but they still roll true and the greens are otherwise in great condition. The only issue I had with the course was the fire ants, we saw several mounds on the course, I actually stood on some dirt on a tee box and playing partners notices that my shoes were almost immediately covered in ants, nothing a few rounds of ant killer won't fix. I will recommend this course to my friends and look forward to playing here again in the near future.
Hit a bucket of balls on the driving range just after the first downpour of the day. Humidity was crazy but, we had a great time. Employees are extremely helpful and customer service is top-notch!
This course on Nov.15,2015 was in pretty good shape and the greens were to my liking, cut close and on the fast side but easy to hold. Hole positions were fair and not set for tournament golf. From the Black Senior tees most of the fairways are open enough so you were rarely in trouble. If your drive is around 200 yds. you will be able to reach most greens in regulation. It was very windy when we played and still was not too bad distance wise. There is a lot of water but not always in play.
2:00 pm tee time was around $20.00 ea. Nice pro shop, friendly staff. We will definitely put this on our favorite course to play.
I Held my daughter graduation party here this past Saturday. I'm only giving 5 stars because that is the most it will let me. It is worth way more than 5 stars. Jason and his staff were amazing. Friendly always with smiles. I never worried about anything. Everything was taking care of. They were always ask if there was something I needed or when they seen something that needed to be done they just did it. Thank you Jason and Tracy for helping put great memories in our Memory book. What an incredible evening.
Over the years I’ve held and will continue to hold various events at Summerfield Crossings. Every single one was a success due to the support by everyone at the course. The staff goes completely out of their way to help. It feels as if they care just as much about the success of the events as I do. If you are ever in search for a location to host a meeting, party, baby shower or golf tournament this should be your first and last stop. You won’t find a better more accommodating and affordable option. The owners of Summerfield Crossings make it a genuine priority to support the community and as for myself I am so greatful for them. This review and my simple thanks can never truly express how much myself and my family appreciate you all!!!
The staff is always friendly here and I enjoy playing golf and footgolf on this course. The bartenders are also fast, friendly, and attentive. Now if I can reduce the amount of golf balls that get lost in the woods...
The greens are fast and pretty consistent. Fairway bunkers are in play with water that can't always be seen from tees. Must putt and chip well to score low. Strategy and heroism mixed well in the design.
Only been there a few times just for a couple of drinks with friends. The drinks, the service and the atmosphere were great. Don't know anything about the food as I've never eaten there. Also, don't play golf so can't grade that.
Visiting from out of town and decided to play here with my friend and it was awesome. Very challenging. Decided to play another round and for only $15 you can't beat it. Very nice staff as well. Will definitely be back!!!!!!!
Enjoyed this fantastic breakfast buffet! Recommend reservations but not a must! Food was beautiful and delicious! Plenty of everything anyone could possibly want! Good service and friendly!
Friendly staff, great prices and the course is well maintained. I enjoy playing this course everytime I'm in town
Fairways and greens in good shape. Greens were fuzzy and slow. Great layout. Unfortunately I was paired with “That Guy”
The one that shoots in the 100’s, never stops talking and critics everyone’s swings and shots. After 9 holes of that I was done and left. I realize this is not on the course. It would be nice if there was an “Idiot Detector” to keep those knuckleheads off the course.
We had a memorial there for a family member. The place was comfortable and the staff were nice and helpful.
The greens are in AMAZING shape and several were either tiered or had significant slope. The fairways were in pretty good shape but were rather dry which made some shots a little difficult. Tee boxes were mostly all tore up so sometimes it was difficult to find a decent spot to tee off. They have a marshall that constantly drives around, which I like because it usually keeps people moving, but this marshall didn't keep the pace going. I drove past three groups to get to a hole that was open and playable and then back tracked to the skipped holes. The prices are pretty high considering the length of the course and local averages but it was taken care of above average. This course is really hit or miss. If it has rained hard recently, stay away because it doesn't drain but if it hasn't rained in a long time also stay away. All in all a fun course.
Course is in great shape, greens a little hard. But they putt well. A very challenging course to play.
On Friday night Happy Hours there is a lot of FUN, GOOD FOOD, GREAT and SERVICE. The hours are from 5pm to 10 pm. DJ starts at 7:30. Great place to meet with friend and friends (kids can come too)
Played the course again. Much better experience this time. Staff was great. And the course was in excellent condition. Greens were fast! And rolled pure. I look forward to coming back.
Hubby loves this place. Good people.
Great facility and a great place for your private event or Sunday brunch! We love Summerfield & Doc's Grill!
Their food is all fresh and delicious. The cook they have up there making the eggs, omelets, pancakes and waffles is the best! He makes everything to order and is very quick about it.
While this is a very busy golf course, the staff clearly does its best to manage the tee sheet and keep everybody moving at a reasonable pace of play.
The busy nature of Summerfield Crossings speaks to the loyalty they have created with a large group of locals, yet they welcome new players and treat them well.
For our round in mid-January, we found the course in good condition from tee to green. Rare do you find an unraked or poorly landscaped bunker anywhere, which is always a sign that the course management truly cares about the property.
Large waste bunkers on select holes in addition to the mounding on the edges of fairways and greens enhance a simple, yet fair course design with few surprises for the first time player.
Signature Par 3 15th hole features an island green with a forced carry of varying yardage depending on tee box selection. For example, we played gold tees on this very windy day, and played it to a front left pin location at just under 150 yards.
Thanks to Mr. Blanchard and the staff of Summerfield Crossings for making my drive down from near Tampa International Airport worthwhile on a chilly day for 18 holes.
Open course, good for bombing those drives. Good prices usually. Problem right now is the greens are trashed. Have not seen the greens this bad in a long time. Tee boxes and fairways were good.
Tee boxes and fairways were good. Greens were not. Well struck putts veered off course because of brown spots and dead areas. Great service!
Attended a food truck rally. Great people, food and entertainment. It happens every 1st Friday of the months. Had a great chill time. Bring your own drinks..
We go to the clubhouse for breakfast and is great. If you have never ate there ,you have to try it. The cook and employees are the best.
Went on Friday had their fish and coleslaw, the fish was the best that I've had in the area and the coleslaw was very tasty as well. The place was rather empty and our server was very a tentative
Had a great time at Summerfield Crossings. Lunch was very good and the service was exceptional. Course was in great shape and completed round in 4:15.
Fairways are good, greens ae e hit or miss. Not too awful for the price & it's literally around the corner. SUNDAY MORNING BUFFET starts @ 10. YUM!!!!
Amazing golf course! Amazing prices and amazing staff! Delicious food as well. Best Happy Hours around.
We enjoyed the round. Very friedly staff and course in great shape. Our pair that we played with eere ewually fun and very nice people.
Tee boxes not level, greens slow with burnt spots, and a lot of weeds. Not worst I have seen, liked layout, and pace of play was good overall.
This place is great for so many different types of events. The food is good and if you're a golfer, you're in the right spot.
I went to Summerfield Crossing to a banquet which turned out really nice good food good service and it's nice to see the manager involved and everything that was going on
not a bad course for the price. Greens are well maintained and pro shop is nice.
Great muni course. Greens were alot slower than I'm used too, but Storm Eta just went through.
We went for the kids first tee lessons. Seems like a nice area, can't wait to explore more of it
Love DOC'S GRILLE Easter Sunday Buffet...great Bloody Marys!

Excellent course with reasonable green fees. Not your typical straight line Fl course... Dog legs and moderate elevation.
Great course. Few spots of dead grass on a couple of holes. Staff is very friendly.
