Although there was constant vehicular traffic noise punctuated by occasional jets taking off from nearby Tampa International, this was an enjoyable track requiring a tactical approach accompanied by effective shot making. Many hazards that first-timers may unwittingly discover. Priced fairly, above average conditions, a friendly staff and a 19th hole vast cold beer offering ensure a repeat visit now and again.

Great course with a lot of unique holes for a muni. REALLY fast greens. Smooth also. So close to the airport, it’s the best place to play golf when coming to or leaving Tampa. From the rental car place to the first tee, it was about 15 minutes. Quality course. We had so much fun. I’ll play it again next time I fly into Tampa!

Played 18 holes on June 20th 2019. Good course. Polite staff. Opens 6.30 am first tee time 7 am. Fairways in good condition. Greens also good. Decent challenging course with water and some tough par 3s. Has driving range too. Close to airport. Took 3 hours to play on Thursday morning started 7.15 am. Has good rest rooms and place to shower.you can see maintenance crews at work to keep up the course

Very nice golf course. Greens in excellent condition and they have good character. Not a busy course so we never felt rushed. Lots of water hazards and lots of beautiful birds flying around and drinking in the various steams and ponds.

I think it's fantastic that the course is now limiting carts on the days when there has been so much previous rain. The course is in fantastic shape and only getting better everyday! It sends a great message of what is to come not letting the carts damage all the progress being there isn't a cart path on each hole to be cart path only. Keep up the great work.

Played here last weekend and this is a great course. Well laid out, beautiful greens, great "Florida" atmosphere and maintained very well. The price is fair and the staff is accommodating. Can't say enough good things and will definitely be back on my next day off!

3 years ago i swore I'd never play this course again. Not even if it was a free round! They've since reworked the whole course and it's become my go to course for a quick round.

I've never played on this place I don't play golf but it's a nice 9 horse 9 holes great for you and your buddies to have a good time and not play the whole 18 holes the beaches literally 3 miles away lots of places to go grab a bite to eat or drink afterwards

We played this course early afternoon Friday. It’s generally a fun place to get in some golfing, but I wish there was a ranger keeping things up. The group ahead of us had no shirts on, no shoes, and were running around chasing each other. I know they were having fun, but it makes it less fun for those of us who want to enjoy some peaceful golf. Would give it 4 stars otherwise. The driving range is not great, and the driving area is just a mat.

Except for the really wet fairways, water everywhere... great!! Honestly if you hit down the middle of the fairway you should be good. Really open course, great for beginners to intermediate.

Greens are in excellent condition. 15 thru 18 are very challenging finishing holes and overall a great experience. Staff were professional and friendly, had a good time.

City run course is in average shape. Could be a really nice place to play if it was better taken care of. Driving range is a plus. As with most courses they don't allow personnel coolers. However, they also very rarely have a beverage cart on the course which is very frustrating during the hot summer days.

Stopped to play at 3:30 pm. Got through 18 by 6:00. Every tee box, fairway and green was as close to perfect as I could ask for. I could not believe how well the course is being maintained right now. No longer the dog track of old. Congrats to the team there for doing such an amazing job.

Love playing at Rocky point golf course. My buddy and I play there all the time and enjoy it with good mix of par 3s-5s. Our group of 5 all commented on how rude the lady was in the office though today. We understand that only one person is allowed in the golf pro shop at once but you don't have to yell and be rude to your customers. And some of us said the same about calling on the phone as well That was the first time we have delt with that lady today, every time we have been there in the last two years haven't had to deal with her.

First time here. The employees were very nice. The greens were true and challenging. The course itself was saturated with water. Cart path only or 90° rule should've been in place. People were just driving all over the fairway. Poor drainage on the golf course. The city needs to put in some money to put in a drainage system. Course needs to be shutdown for a few weeks to get the fairways back in shape. A lot trimming and landscaping needs to be done.

Greens were some of the best I’ve seen in the Tampa Bay Area. Lost my driver mitten on my long cobra there and the lady working the desk said the one they had in the lost and found wasn’t mine so I was pretty mad about that..

Course was in good shape considering it rained for three days straight prior to playing on a Sat morning. Fairways were really nice and greens were pretty good considering. Course was challenging yet fun. Cart girl was out and came around plenty of times. Only help they need is in the kitchen area... got backed up with one person trying to work it. Other than that course was very nice and in good shape and would highly recommend especially for the price.

Had such a great time there and the staff were so wonderful!! From funny guys to knowledgeable golfers they have it all! I did get in trouble for driving too close to the green but it is my first time and after explaining myself he was more than understanding and such a great guy. Gave me a few pointers and I went home a happy man. And a better golfer! Thanks alot!

Fun local course. afternoon tee times don’t drop off pricing like others so it can be a bit pricey for the experience. Wear a helmet on the first two holes... very close holes. Have almost been hit 3 times

Good place to catch up on your game. Nine holes are best here. Whole neighborhoods very golf cart friendly, they let you drive 'em all around on the wide sidewalks

Me and my buddies booked a tee-time at Rocky Pointe at last minute on Memorial Day. was surprised it wasn't packed. The greens were immaculate and the course is very well maintained. nFelt like a $140 course but was only 1/3 of the price. Highly recommend. My new favorite golf course in Tampa.

It's not a bad public course. My only issue is that I sometimes feel like I'm in the line of fire from tee boxes on other holes, especially when more beginners are likely to play there. Stay aware of other players!

About a good as you would expect out of a public course in the middle of the city. Few rough spots but overall, the greens are good and the fairways play well. Only downfall is that alot of bad players play there and the pace can be slow. Also, those same bad players don't fix ball marks on the green. Found myself fixing prolly 40 or 50 when I played last weekend, no exaggeration.

Great public golf course. They host a lot of fundraisers and tourneys. So there is always something going on. The coarse isnt super challenging but its fun. And the staff are great.

This is my go to course now. I’m still starting off and the pacing is great as I have never felt rushed. The grounds are immaculate with challenging but not impossible holes. They also have a good Hefeweizen at the 19th hole bar.

Decent place to play. After heavy rains the course will have a lot of standing water. This is Tampa Bay, so that's not infrequent. There were bee hive issues when I went once. During the sunset however the course lights up, it's a great view.

Good public course right near Tampa Airport. Played on a Sunday morning with almost no wait in front of me. Had just a single tee time, and it worked out that I joined with a twosome who were playing in front of me. Course was in good shape for the heat of summer.

Wow for a city on course this place is beautiful it seems like it’s flatland but the placement of bunkers and water make this course challenging to any level golfer if you ever get to Tampa not only is a beautiful place to visit but this is a great place to golf staff is friendly food is excellent beer is cold shout out to Jim Hanks go pro really knows his stuff

Absolutely one of the best values in golf during the busy season here in the Tampa Bay Area. You pay roughly half of what you would to play other courses for a morning tee time and get comparable course conditions from tee to green for a Par 71 layout. I just played here again this week and had the company of the GM Jim Garrison for the first nine holes. Jim really does care about the condition of the golf course and even nit picked some things you might not notice on and around the edges of greens. Another key to a well-maintained golf course is how the bunkers play. I had the misfortune of finding my way into five greenside bunkers during my round and I enjoyed near perfect conditions on four of those five shots to make a sand save. My group played the blue tees and we all agree it plays longer than the listed 6300 yards because there's almost always wind on this open piece of land near the bay. Many Par 4's and Par 5's play rather long and the inverted bowl nature of many greens makes it difficult to hit and hold a number of greens in regulation. Sure, it is a municipal golf course owned and operated by the Tampa Sports Authority, but the municipal feel comes more from that percentage of players who come out here simply to drink, act stupid and ignorantly think shooting 115 is somehow the golf course's fault.

Great place to hit some golf balls after work and enjoy the sunset in the distance. Parking is pretty easy and just go to the pro shop to get a token for your bucket of balls. The machine is on a timer and dispensers till closing time. The driving range is well maintained and gives off a very Florida nature vibe. The area the course is in is very busy, but for a public course it's pretty nice.
