I played here several years ago after a significant amount of flooding in the area and the course had several damaged areas… after returning this weekend, the course looked great! The staff in the clubhouse and around the course were all super friendly and helpful. It was a fairly busy day and there was minimal waiting. Very fun course for beginner and advanced golfers… lots of challenges but not too difficult for a beginner by any means! Will definitely return here this season! Thank you

This is an interesting course with unique holes. It is in decent shape for the time of year. The greens were in surprisingly good condition today. The maintenance staff is quite rude. They stand on the green with leafblowers, and don't turn them off when you putt. Rude/ignorant maintenance has been a routine issue with this course all year. In the past I have had them run over golf balls with mowers and have both seen and experienced them refuse to alter their course to allow players to hit.

This course is awesome! Challenging yet fun, difficult yet rewarding. And absolutely BEAUTIFUL! The drive up to the Club House was spectacular. I love the different elevations and curvature of the course. And you CAN'T beat the price for what you get. Merry the owner in the course searching for improvements too! SUPER nice guy! Clearly cars about the course and the staff within it. The staff was polite, conversational and just all around present. I will DEFINITELY be going back asap. Probably going to host a tournament here too!

Most holes above average difficulty. Elevation on many holes with extreme elevation on some. Course in good to very good condition. Only negative is cart path is in bad shape in numerous spots. We paid $35 providing an excellent value

We played this course on a fall Saturday without knowing anything about it, and were pleasantly surprised. It's a beautiful setting and a well designed course. Most fairways are narrow and require accurate shots to score well and several tee shots are blind or require exact yardages to stay out of hazards, which makes the course a fun challenge. Overall it's not too difficult and it should be a fair course for all skill levels. The green and fairway grass isn't in the BEST shape... but the fees are cheap, so I can't complain too much. The two gentlemen we played with told us that the overall quality has improved dramatically over the years, and they expect it to keep getting better. I can't wait to play again next summer!

Elevation changes require you to not only think about yardage but also factor in the “up & down” of the distance. Narrow fairways bring xtra golf balls and play strategically. Have fun.

This course has come a long way from the unplayable condition it was in several years ago. It is now a very nice enjoyable round of golf with improvements continuing every day. The new owners understand golf and what should be done to have an enjoyable round.

This course has done a complete 180 from just a few years ago. The greens are in phenomenal shape and some of the best I've played in an around Saint Louis. I would recommend that you take the time to play around and consider a membership.. This is one of the best deals and opportunities to play golf in STL.

The new owner is taking this course in the right direction, I’ve played a couple tournaments here the last month and I am literally shocked at the improvement. I played here a few years ago and quit mid round due to dead greens and just a poor experience. The staff are super friendly and helpful and it’s still a work in progress but I won’t shy away when someone asks me to play a round at Sugar Creek. I work at another area course and I know how much work courses are and they are putting in the work. I’m happy it’s making a comeback.

Played Sugar Creek for the first time today, what a great experience! The staff if outstanding, you are welcomed as if you play there regularly. I can't say enough about how the Marshalls are friendly, informative, helpful and just all around great guys, thank you all. Sure the course was wet, what course isn't after all the rain we've been experiencing. The fairways are in good shape, under the conditions, definitely better than other courses in the area either way. A lot of challenging holes, which I like...well...sometimes! I will, for sure be back soon and I'm going to spread the word with everyone I know. Way to go Sugar Creek Golf Course

This course is amazing! Very challenging, but on the flip side very fun. They use these hills and elevations beautifully and it really diversifies the golf game. Beautiful drive into the clubhouse and great service in the clubhouse with cold refreshments as well! The owner seems like he really cares to make this place better everyday and is excited to give the public good golf. Go visit these guys, they really have a beautiful course back there in Sugar Creek. Also I can never complain about the price, very good experience!

The course is definitely getting better. The greens are quite slow. The Fairways are not Zoysia, but, for the most part, are in good condition. Lots of interesting holes. Good elevation changes. The back 9 is tight. The carts are old and a bit slow. This course is on its way back and is definitely worth the $25 to play.

This course has turned the corner, and they are still doing more improvements. I forgot to grab photos, but last year several greens were either burnt or had a disease. Only #16 had a small amount of imperfections in the green. Tee boxes still need some work because they are not flat/level. Working on the cart paths, and under brush. In the 10 years I have been playing golf this is the best the course has been. Pace of play for an 820 tee time on a holiday weekend was about 5 hours. Course length is short, but a few narrow fairways, hazards, and sharp doglegs make it play longer. I would recommend giving this course a shot again!

I have been playing this course for three years and it’s in the best condition I’ve ever seen. The course has an amazing layout and is very fun. The course management is amazing. We booked a tee time for the wrong day on Labor Day weekend. He fit us in that morning. I will continue to play this course for those reason. Sugar creek has potential to be a top 10 public course in St. Louis. Keep up the amazing job!!

It had been a couple years since we played at this course and I was pleasantly surprised. The course is in much better shape than I remember it. Greens are in great shape and fairways are pretty good too. I believe the tee boxes are getting redone in the next year. I caught the owner himself working his tail off in 90° heat. We will be back especially since I beat my buddy by two strokes ha. Big thumbs up 👍 for bringing the course back up to par!

Our Sunday group of 16 played here today. We must say our group really enjoyed the Course. It has really made a great turnaround.The staff was friendly from check in to the cart girl service. We can see the major improvements. We will definitely put this on our Sunday rotation again.major improvements from tee to green. If ever seeded with zoysia, look out this will be one of the best courses in the area. Kudos to new ownership.

My wife and I spent an afternoon here and we had a great time playing this course. The prices are very fair and the staff was both friendly and helpful in scheduling our tee time. The course was a fun experience, and while it is true the greens are a work in progress, they do look to be improving. We did the groupon and it was a fantastic value all-around. A round of golf for two with a cart and a simple but filling snack bar lunch, all for around $30 was real steal. Hated that we had to leave early. We'll definitely be back!

I very much enjoyed playing 18 here. It is obvious the ownership is working hard to provide a course that is fun to play. The fairways are in great shape, even with all the rain we've had lately. And all of the greens, with a few having some spots in need of repair, were well maintained and well played. I would recommend giving Sugar Creek a few hours of opportunity to enjoy yourself.

This course is so unique challenging and fun to play. The full 18 hole course is open now. The new owners have done a great job fixing the greens. They are not perfect but it won't be long before they are perfect. Great value for the price. You better check it out now because once those greens are perfect the price is going up for sure. Honestly the prices should go up because this is a nice course!

The course is scenic and beautiful woods surround the area but the fairways looked like the same quality as the grass in the nearby park and compare to the rough at a typical course. It was inexpensive so that's a big plus. I was told it turned around so that scary but It needs work on the fairways and the cart path

The staff is amazing and very nice I am rating it half because this has to do with the back 9. A lot of hills and you will lose a lot of balls if you are new at hitting a ball. It rained really bad on the 15th hole and we was trying to get back to the club house but there is only one way back that we could see ahead. We get to the top of the hill near the 18th hole. It was pouring down rain which made the pathways slick and we tried to go as slow as possible down the hill path and we hydroplaned to the side and we both jumped out of the golf cart before it rolled down the side of the hill to the green. We lost our phones clubs and was injured from this incident. The cart was on its side on the hill and there was no one around so we figured to lift the cart up and at least try to roll it down the hill so we can drive back to the club house and explain what happened. We had no issues with the front 9 but it wasn't raining either in the middle of our game. Again the staff is great and there a cute blonde I adored but I wont go back there to play again the paths are too dangerous in rain. So make sure if you go here to see if it rains that day. We didn't expect it till later that evening but we wasn't lucky and blessed we are not seriously damaged. My neck and shoulder hurt to this day 😩 when it thunders it reminds of that day! Like I mentioned above I won't go here again since we had this experience. But again the staff is nice.

Course has seen major improvements over the last couple of years. Tee boxes, fairways and greens in much better condition likely due to new ownership. Owner was on the course and humbly thanking us for our business and when you have an owner like that, it's clear that his objective is his customers experience. Would recommend to any golfer.

Played this course yesterday for the first time in many years. I know they have been investing in the course but there is still a lot of work to do. I know it isn't easy as these changes are expensive so I'm hoping these are things on the list. I thought the greens looked pretty good but many of the fairways were dry, hard and had bad spots that interfered with normal play. Many drops from non-hazards. Several balls where hit right down fairway only to be lost when we looked for them. There seems to be ridges and dips in many fairways, not on purpose, that seem to direct the ball to the edges. There are a lot of hills so the ball can roll away from the middle of fairway and end up hidden. Lots of missing grass on tee boxes so they were as hard as rocks. It was very hard to get a tee in. Much of the cart path is torn up and in bad shape. Our golf cart had been bounced around so much that the top was broken on passenger front side and not connected to the frame. It sounded like a tambourine playing as we drove. I really want this course to succeed so please keep investing in it's future.

Great round today! The new owner took the time to introduce himself and ask our opinion and wanted feedback to improve the golf course! They are really making a comeback and I’ll be playin here a lot more often now. Would highly recommend the course!

Interesting course layout. But greens need more work, and when weather gets hot, the tee boxes became very hard to even put a tee in. Overall good experience, for the price you won’t go wrong. Best in the area.

Came across a Groupon that was a great value! Lunch(hotdog, chips, soda) 18 holes for two with a cart. Employees are super nice and helpful. They had a tournament that ended around our tee time so we had to wait for awhile for a cart but they gave us some range balls on the house to warm up and help pass the time. The golf course was well maintained and a pleasure to play. We ran out of daylight so we were unable to finish the last couple of holes but it was a fun place that I am sure we will play again soon. My suggestion, give this place a try.

This is a great golf course. It's peaceful with a challenging course. They have new staff and they are all extreamly friendly. They also have new a new cart girl and she is great. Somewhat hilly so I recommend purchasing a cart. They have also made changes since the last time I was here. I love it and recommend everyone coming out here to play!

I will say the staff were very professional and friendly Hats off to the superintendent he has done an amazing job getting the course back into shape. I’m even going as far as looking into membership can’t wait to go back there and play again

Just wanted to say that I had not played here for a year or so because the prior owner was an arse. Not only was he rude, he barely kept the course in playing shape. I played here a couple weeks ago with a friend who wanted to try it and I was pleasantly surprised with the attitude of the new owners. They have also obviously worked to get the course in much better playing shape. I will play here again.

Course is in good shape. Consists of challenging hole designs nicely laid out. Not overly long but well played, well struck shots are required. Great value for the money.

Fairways decent shape greens don't even think about it. Was surprised to see that you had to pay to drive balls before u go out. If u like a tighter course this is it. I highly suggest you bring your bug spray maybe even a mosquito net cuz boy are they bad bad actually horrible

I played for 14 dollars which is a crazy good value. There was only one green that was still emerging and the rest were in good shape. Staff was friendly and I saw a bunch of folks working on the course. I would highly encourage anyone to play here!

I wouldn’t look too much into the negative comments about this course on here and other golf apps. This course has been under new management since January 2018, and they have already made tremendous improvements. Great prices and very friendly staff! Would recommend!

The staff was friendly. The greens were a little slow but in great condition and the fairways were well cut and the rough was decent but didn't overly penalize your mis hits. The course is a little on the small side and any advantage a long hitter would have on a course is cancelled here. Majority of the holes are doglegs so a driver is not used but on maybe 4 or 5 holes. The real disappointment were the tee boxes. Of the 18 white tee boxes only 4 or 5 were level. On the rest your ball was either way above or below your feet.

Fun place for beginners. Wide fairways and friendly people. I like being able to stop for lunch halfway thru. The back 9 is harder then the front. We enjoyed the solitude on the back. The place is coming back to life. I will be going again soon.

Greens were in decent shape for the middle of October. Course is very well laid out, with a number of elevation changes. This is the first time I've played here. Will definitely come back next summer.

Very underrated course tucked away in the sprawl of St. Louis. It’s not the most well-maintained course in the world but the course layout is very interesting. Perfect amount of challenge for a practicing golfer. Plus a view of downtown and the Arch from the 8th tee box.

The staff is most the time extremely friendly outgoing helpful and courteous. The place is beautiful with 18 holes and 157 Acres there's plenty to see along your way. A great place to have banquets, receptions, and family fun.

Started playing this course when my parents moved there a few years ago. Rating at that time would’ve been 1 star and it got worse before getting better. My rating is based on the effort put forth by management to resurrect & rebuild this course from nothing and the promise it already shows to be much much better.
