This a perfect round of nine. Range, too. The course is in terrific shape, rarely backs up too much, and there are two very challenging holes (#2 and #5). Par is gettable if you putt well. Definitely a well-kept secret and less mainstream alternative to FoPo or Creve Couer which are slower rounds.

Played with my 25 year old daughter at Ruth Park today. I had not been there in 10 years, and from what I remember the fairway grass has been improved. I was very impressed and it is a very nice 9 hole.

They do not update website. Driving range said it was open on website but was closed when I got there. Edit: they seem like they are doing a much better job of keeping their site up to date. Increase to three from one stars.

I worked there in the early 90's. It started as my "home" course, remained my "home course after l left. Still see old friends sometimes. Old school golf course with few "flat" lies. You don't really need a driver much. A pretty good workout if you walk and carry your bag. Par is a decent score. Go check it out, it might grow on you.

Nice place to play. Greens are a challenge as they have different levels. Challenging if you don’t keep it in be fairway. Well maintained. Driving range as well. Can play at a great price. Part 2 of my review. Had some clubs re-gripped right before the club house closed due to the pandemic. Did a great job at a great price and had the clubs back in less than 24 hours.

Great 9 hole course that’s relatively easy (which as a beginner, I appreciated). It’s well maintained and the prices for beverages are unbeatable. The course is quite hilly so be prepared for that if walking. I hope to be back.

Great 9 hole municipal course. Not too hard but some holes can give you trouble. A par on the 5th hole is a great score: it has a 2 tier green and heaven forbid you're on the top with the pin on the lower level. Never seem to have trouble getting on the course. It's fairly inexpensive: about $15 to walk on the weekend. There is a nice new driving range too.

I play Ruth all the time. It's a great little course for your money. 13$ gets you nice zoysia fairways and relatively smooth greens. Pace of play can be an issue during peak hours but you can't expect much from a municipal course. It's the perfect nine hole course for after the office.

Having lived near and frequently playing Ruth for over 12 years, hard to believe any negative comments (some people just need to get a life). I've experienced many on-going grounds improvements since that time. The clubhouse staff is very accomodating, courteous, and highly professional. Soon, a newly designed, top-rate public driving range & practice facility will be open for all to enjoy and golf lessons are available from at least one very capable PGA pro. This 9 hole course is a very good value for just 12 bucks! It's considered an ideal "walking" track because greens to tee box locations are in close proximity. Sure, there are some hills and elevation changes but overall, a good walk and a challenging track. You want to ride? Just cough up another 8 bucks per player and you'll have a late model gas-powered cart! What separates this public course from other nearby public golf courses is the excellent condition of the zyosia tee-boxes, zyosia fairways and greens. Again, any negatives are just not true. The concrete cart paths are relatively new and provide a smooth ride. So, tee it up and have some relatively cheap fun on a nice golf course!

Driving range, chipping and putting areas are top notch.. golf course is a nice little muni track, but overall I would play a quick nine here rather than creve Coeur or forest park. Very Walkable..Slow on weekends

Popular Muni 9-hole course with a driving range (closed Weds AMs for maintenance) and small putting and chipping area. Open year round, weather providing. Course plays a bit over 3000 yds from the back. Zoysia fairways, bent grass greens, no sand traps. Greens aren't huge and don't have any major slopes aside from the 5th, which has a severe two tier. Tees times are taken a week in advance. If you book online make sure your card isn't charged on the site, being a municipal course exempts them from sales tax and booking fees. No sales taxes are charged in the golf shop either, including for all equipment. Course opens at 6am in the summer, 6:30-7 the rest of the year. Expect it to be closed under 40 degrees.

For a municipal course, Ruth Park is very well maintained. The fairways were tightly cut zoysia grass, great shape, and the greens were great. The staff was nice and the prices are good. I would definitely recommend this course.

The Chinese golf league plays here every Saturday morning, from the tees to the greens, which are well-kept due to the efforts of the ground crew and the pleasant pro shop employees. I have enjoyed playing this course for the past eight years.
