Came here just for foliage pictures and they did not disappoint. I usually see quite a few golfers in the area using this course,seems popular. The course was clean and also excellent views for patrons!

North course has a great layout, fairly wide open and is in really good shape considering how busy it is. The pace of play is usually ok, sometimes slow. Bunkers are ok, not great. Some of the staff are friendly. All around excellent value. Photo is of 17th green

I'm not a good golfer. My rating this course it's entirely on the pure enjoyment I have golfing here with my brothers then rolling down the road the brewerys when we've finished. Totally affordable and they do a food job keeping the course in decent shape. Always an awesome experience!

Great if you are just starting out, as this may be the slowest course ever. Super cheap and you use to be able to pop in for a quick 9 holes just to get some swings in but with the up tick in people playing golf that is no longer the case. Overall the course is well kept for a municipal course and $16 for nine holes.

The golf course itself is good for the money, but the pro shop staff and starters are literally the worst. Never smiling, always rude. It’s not all of them, but most of them. I play here 2-3 times per week and still get treated like a second rate citizen. Only golf course I’ve played where the front of staff people aren’t happy to be working at a golf course.

Love seeing thriving public courses! Walked into the shop around 3:30pm on a Wednesday and it was packed! They still got us out with another 2some relatively quickly to play the back 9. Nice laid back atmosphere. Only issue seemed to be a lack of communication between the pro shop and the poor starter whose job it was to get us out between groups making the turn. Even still the pace of play was fine. Great spot for the average duffer to get their golf fix.

Played on our way thru Maine. Not far off I95. Very friendly staff. Priced right. Surprisingly well maintained for a municipal golf course. Actually, one 18 hole course, one 9 hole course, and a practice facility. Tee boxes very good, fairways good. Greens slow, but they keep it in this condition I'm sure due to the amount of play. Bunkers need sand. Overall, we were very pleased and played in under 4 hours on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. Would recommend. Nice restaurant/bar/outdoor deck too.

We love coming here for winter activities (skiing, skating, sledding, snowshoeing) and then following it up with reasonably priced craft beers and good food served by friendly staff. And by reasonably priced beer, I mean $5.50 for a beer like Austin Street Patina! We're so sick of spending $8-9 for a beer! They also have loved music on Fridays and trivia night on Tuesdays. Keep up the great work Riverside!

This place has come a long way since the 90s. It was way over irrigated in spots. The south that is. I grew olup playing all summer on this course so I am emotionally attached a bit. I was pretty upset when we turned a late back nine with a member friend of mine and the south manager stabbed me with a fresh nine cart fee and greens fee even though my friend was a member. There are better values in the area for the price like Sunset Ridge.

Riverside is a nice public course located on the outskirts of Portland. Its a fairly easy course to play and in the spring and fall it's not to hard to get out on the weekends and play a 4 hour round. However during the peak of summer trying to play a normal paced round can be difficult. It gets backed up and the rounds can drag on because of groups in front of you. The best time to play would be first thing in the morning in the summer on the weekends.

This 9 hole course is in really nice shape. Only came across one mud puddle and it was in the road verses being in the fairway. Great course to work on your irons!

Since I moved to Florida I always think of Riverside as my own private club. Played in a few tournaments enjoyed every time I played good round or bad friendly group of guys remember I think either getting early to get the time for Sunday .maybe in the future I'll come to enjoy the course all over again. Fairways and greens my best to all

Beautifully groomed trails for x country skiing and it's free! Just wish people could agree on a peaceful existence between dog owners and non dog owners, on leash/off leash. This is a public space!

This is a great course for the money. They do a good job at maintaining the course. My only complaint is that most of the staff seems unnecessarily angry all the time. Walked in to the pro shop to ask if they had any tee times and the guy yelled at me to go ask the starter as he had no idea. The guy with the computer in front of him that listed all tee times made me go ask the guy with a clipboard and paper who hoped he had the oat up to date information from the pro shop. The starter was pleasant though and he was happy to get me on the course. Other times I've been there and they've had a ranger come out and tell us to pick up the pace of play, while the group in front of us (we were waiting on the tee box) were within 100 yards of us on a par 5. He didn't go talk to them at all. I bear with the grumpy old men staffing the course due to the cost and conditions, but trust me, I search other courses first and see if they have openings well before coming to Riverside.

Very Good facility for our kids Nordic Ski Team to practice at all winter. Better grooming this year. Excellent storage for skis. Great waxing area.

It is really awesome that this place is available for skate and classic cross-country skiing, sledding and ice skating and it is really well maintained, especially since you don't have to buy a $15-20 pass to go. Really glad we have it in Portland!

Really nice and reasonably challenging municipal courses (18 and 9 holes) meander through woods and fields along the Presumpscot River. Great place for sledding, XC skiing and dog walking in winter.

I brought my nephew here for the first time he has ever been golfing on a real course he loves it it's alittle long but it's good exercise great staff the staff at the north course are extremely kind and polite they gave me great suggestions for my nephew to play and so I could help teach him so he can get better and the worst feeling I had was when I was there the virus was going on it still is but it wasn't bad from the virus I just felt bad because I wanted to tip the workers for all there kindness and willingness to work in these conditions I didn't have cash on me and I didn't want to break the rules by giving them cash if they couldn't accept it due to covid 19 but I will promise you one thing me and my nephew love it here and when I was on the golf team I loved learning here so I suggest this course to everyone who likes walking or driving a cart and just enjoying nature if I were to choose any course in Maine as the number one course it would be Riverside great job to all the staff and management and ground crew much thanks to all your help and support during this crazy time

Good course, a mix of long and planned driving. The course is mostly in good shape but there are some dead spots on the travel ways. This is a good course for the less experienced.
