As an event planner, I highly recommend GH. The space is flexible, beautiful, and clean. The staff is knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly. The food is delicious and the presentations are appealing. Try the salmon. You won’t be disappointed.

I attended a birthday party of a good friend at the clubhouse. Food was very good and the service was excellent. Nice views of the golf course, too! Getting there was not the prettiest, unfortunately. A lot of road construction in the area going on. I believe they've been there for some time now.

Good course layout that is challenging, with lots of hills and uneven lies. The maintenance is great and the course is well maintained. Unfortunately, hard to get a tee time with all the outings they have. Also, the carts have GPS but sometimes lock up on the cart path when they shouldn't (the cart shuts down if you do not follow holes that are cart-path only). The course also has poor drainage, so avoid if after a decent rain. The 9-hole "learning" course, while shorter and easier to get a tee time on, is just as hilly and in some places tighter and tricker than the regular course. I enjoy this course, despite all the challenges. Recommended.

Very nice course that is up and coming. Good service, very nice layout, good pace of play. Very good bar too. Driving range, putting greens, chipping area. Golfers just need to be thoughtful and repair ball marks on the greens to keep the course in good shape.

Perfect place for lunch...their prices have NOT increased with inflation and all the items I've tried are beautifully cooked and delicious. Really nice view if you sit outside.

GHGC was the only venue I visited and with the affordable prices, the beautiful venue and Maria's hospitality, I took a chance and booked it for our August wedding. I was nervous as the deal seemed "too good to be true." The nerves were eased when I went for the tasting, the steak had to be one of the best I've had. Up until my wedding day, Maria was extremely helpful and answered any questions I had. Unfortunately, she was on vacation the week of my wedding - she placed us in the hands of Kristina, who was just as great! Shoutout to Loren, who was extremely personable and sweet, for handling every little thing that we threw her way - from extra beers please Loren to please calm me down Loren, she was there for all that and more. Renee stayed with us until the very end of the night and handled all our requests seamlessly. The guests could not stop raving about the food, especially that filet mignon, the cute golf carts and the beautiful venue. The girls made my wedding day so stress free - and mind you I'm an extremely anxious person, I also DIY-ed my wedding. They executed my vision so professionally AND with minimal directions, they knew exactly what to do. They made sure we were stress-free and were well fed every step along the way. I could not recommend GHGC and its staff enough, thank you!

Beautiful golf course and clubhouse in NJ. The great thing is you dont need to pay dues or a yearly membership. Plently of carts and the property is huge. The clubhouse is also magnificently decorated and the food is quality.

Just had a surprise 40th birthday party for my boyfriend on the south patio! I am so happy with my experience with Galloping hill and their very kind staff! Kristina helped me during the whole planning of the party and was always available when I had questions! And Sam who saw me in my chaotic stage of setting up and decorating before the party was so helpful and went above and beyond to take care of me and my guests and made the whole event a breeze for me! Checking in on me and making sure I ate or had a full drink In my hand and enjoyed the party I worked so hard on! It was just a great feeling not having to worry about a thing! The bartender Sam was also so sweet and made sure my guests were never thirsty. I will definitely be keeping them in mind for any of our future parties and would highly recommend booking your next party with them!

I have only played at the 9 hole learning center as I’m a brand new golfer. It’s a great beginner course and facility with lots of challenges, a double decker driving range, well kept course and practice facilities. The 18 hole course is always crowded and they have a lovely restaurant, bar and restroom facilities with lockers, showers and more. Indeed, they even host weddings there.

Nice course. Ton of elevation. Good shape and fast greens. The downside is the ranger told us 3 times to keep up pace of play when we were waiting at every tee box anyway. That gets annoying real fast

We went to galloping hill learning center to attend Drive,Chip and Putt contest for my daughter. You need to be mindful as once you get of parkway the entrance to golf facility is bit tricky. The learning center was nice with different putting and chipping greens. The driving range was good with covered and non covered sections. The quality of range ball was. what you would have expected at any typical range facility. I wish there were stalls where we could hit balls from regular ground and not just the mats. Good thing was all mats have plastic tees that you can adjust the heights. This was definitely helpful as most of the ranges have rubber tees with same heights.i didn't get to interact with any local staff or concessions stand so not able to comment on that. Overall looks like a good place to spend time if you are an avid golfer or someone who is looking to improve the game.

Another great course and hard to get one but we were able to play in December, even in the winter this course is in fantastic shape,kudos to the greenskeeper and his crew. Another course that is always booked when its warm and I can see why.

This is a nice golf facility, I was walking the 9 hole course they have, which is very much like 1/2 of a full 18, you can hit your driver on 6 of the 9 holes. It is in good shape, with nice greens, and reservations are accepted. Price is reasonable, even for non-Union country residents, $20 for the 9 homes. Carts are available.

It has very nice landscapes and it’s well kept for a public golf course. I gave 4 stars because there were no rangers for questions. No one to guide us even when I mentioned it was our first time visiting. A quick briefing of the map/layout would be helpful. Also there were no signs and directions especially at splits for 18 hole course or the learning center. It was difficult to navigate through the course for our first visit. I would definitely come back especially now that I am more familiar with the layout.

I had my wedding at this beautiful Golf Course last June and it was perfect! The view of the 300 acre golf course was perfect for pictures and my guests loved the pictures they got and they all enjoyed having a cocktail on the terrace! Great venue! The food was delicious and drinks were flowin! My guests raved about the food for weeks after the reception! My wedding planner, Kristina, was so friendly and efficient and answered all the questions I asked without hesitation. My Bridal assistant, Britney, was fabulous too! She kept me hydrated on a hot June day very well! They both really made me feel extra special on my wedding day! Thank you!

Was only at the venue for a wedding. The staff was friendly the space was managed well. The bar have a good selection in the club house and as I was there prior the the actual event, I tried the food. Prices for food were what you would expect, better food then expected. The plates were visually pleasing and very well prepared. I would definitely stop for a bit if I was playing a round of golf.

A golf pro recommended this place to me. Never even heard of it. So I tried out the driving range here today. I live and work in Jersey City, so this place is less than 30 minutes away. Fantastic! Nice place, surprisingly not crowded on a Sunday. Will definitely be back.

Possibly the best muni course in the area. Well maintained, especially for the amount of use it gets. Good challenge and some great elevated tee box views. Best practice facilities around! Only complaint would be how incredibly difficult it is to get a desirable tee time without having one of their advance access cards.

Went for a wedding. Staff was amazing, cocktail hour was great. Raw bar was all fresh. Unfortunately, that's where the quality ended. Filet mignon was standard well-done for everyone, mahi-mahi was overcooked, shrimp & calamari were overcooked & rubbery (seemed frozen).

Very nice county course with resort feel. I played here years ago before all the upgrades. They have done a tremendous job with new club house, electric carts, etc. The up and down slopes add to the scenery, plus on hole 10 you can drive it onto the Parkway with severe slice (not recommended of course). Had good experience with their staff as well. Some possible negatives are too many blind shots and several holes being too close together.

The elevation differences make this an intriguing course. The greens and fairways are well kept, and the rough is short enough to be forgiving. When we went, there was maintenance being done on hole 6, so they had reduced the price to twilight rates--which was nice. I'd recommend that they install range-finding tablets (which also keep score) on the carts, which is what up-and-coming courses are doing now.

Beautifully manicured 9 hole course is in almost as good shape as the 18 hole course. Gorgeous club house, well run pro shop nice restaurant to sit and enjoy a cocktail w your buddies after a round. All though this has the feel of a much higher end club, it's still a county course so residents do get a break in membership

Very very good golf course in terms of layout and variety of shots required to play well. Also has a shorter 9 home course for quick rounds and learning. Greens are typically good, not great, roll but not fast. The pace of play can get brutal sometimes and that is my only real complaint

Great view and room, the food was really good too we chose the brunch. The only reason this review isn't a 5 star is becase a couple staff members (specifically the short lady with glasses) after the party were complaining at our "mess" that we cleaned up as much as we could've and left way before the time we were supposed to.

Back 9 was closed and carts weren't allowed today due to rains from last few days. Would have been nice had they posted that on website before I booked tee time! Other than that, course was in pretty good shape. Lots of elevation changes, which you don't usually find in these parts.

We booked The Clubhouse at the Galloping Hill Golf Course for my daughter's Sweet 16. We could not have had a better experience with The Clubhouse Staff! Jennifer, Valerie and the entire event staff was incredible to work with. They left nothing to chance and had every detail covered. From planning to execution, it was a complete pleasure. They also did a great job communicating with and working with our DJ vendor, Absolute Celebrations. The entire process was effortless. The professionalism and enthusiasm was impeccable. We are thrilled to have such a beautiful venue in our area!

Great conditions. A place you can't complain about except for the pace and often absent rangers. Generally well-run, I have never been to the driving range because for me, i'd rather play real golf. the 9 hole seems interesting. I'll have a bunch of good holes in a row and then 6 (the par 5) or 12 (Much improved since they worked on the irrigation), 14 (the hilly par 4), will be a cluster$#%@^. I just started playing there last year and its a little burnt out, hopefully some rain will make it beautiful again in the fall.

Review is for the practice area only. I haven't played the course. The driving range and practice greens are very nice. Mats are in good shape, balls are relatively new. I'd like some more targets to aim at, especiallly in the 50 - 100 yard range.

I went here for a wedding, not to golf so this review is only based on the wedding hall. This place is easy to find from the highway. There is valet parking of course. When you first enter, the entrance hallway, it has no decorations at all and they have a bar and the golf shop in there. Then when you go upstairs (they do have an elevator) to the actually place to have a cocktail hour, it was just so dull looking with a few tables set up. The cocktail hour food was not that great. They had a small taco bar there and they served some chicken that tasted fatty to me. And they had some fruit and lunch meats and vegetables which kind of look like they were just tossed there to fill in space at the last minute. Later on, the servers went around to serve some turkey meatballs that were okay and had some sweet sauce on it. They served coconut shrimp, cheeseburger sliders and pork belly that I was pretty good. Then dinner in the ballroom came and they didnt really have much option for food choices. It was only between some kind of chicken, fish or beef. I had the fillet mignon which was pretty good and I was satisfied with the meat itself. The woman next to me had the snapper and she told me it was really dry. Also, the portion size was so small. I felt like it was like a child size portion of food that they gave me. The woman who had the snapper, had a fuller plate than mine it looked like even her side dishes I think were a bit more than mine. The ballroom in general is pretty small compared to other places I have been to. I'm glad she had a small wedding of only about 90 people because I don't think that place can accommodate anymore than 150 people because then the room would be too tight. The ceremony space itself was a bit weird of a setup because the bride had to walk in from the side as opposed to the center of the room and the ceremony space was pretty small too. The womans bathroom was pretty clean. So all in all, it's an okay place to have a medium size wedding of about 100 people, but anymore than that I would say would be too much unless of course they have another place to setup for an outside wedding that can accommodate more people.

Both the 9 hole and 18 hole course are in very good shape, the practice facility is new, and so is the clubhouse. Both the practice facility and the clubhouse have decent food and drink options. The only company is that it can take 6 hours to complete a round, which may be consistent with other county courses, but it's still unacceptable.

Solid county course paired with a good driving range/practice facility. One of the few places in the area where you can practice in a greenside sand trap. Course maintenance in the main 18 holes course seems to be in a lull. Some holes show recent tree cutting. Some greens have new grass growth so greens run oddly because the new grass is different than the older grass.

I played the short 9 today it was great until I ran into a two some that had no clue of golf etiquette and we hitting multiple balls before moving on. Even though it is the off season the course should still have a ranger going around.

I had a blast smoking golf balls 400 yards here! (Ok maybe not that far but you get the point) The practice putting area is very nice too. *Not for PETA* At night deer show up on the driving range and if well placed you could beam one with a golf ball. In fact, if you produce a video of it for me I'll gladly give you $20. (I'm just kidding here people, don't harm the wildlife) 😉

9 hole course is quite challenging. Interesting layout with constant elevation changes. Fairways are tight, and the rough is ridiculously high and thick; and it is easy for your ball to get swallowed up and lost if you're not careful. No intermediate rough which kind of sucks. Greens are on the slower side.

About time I review my home course. Positives: Beautiful golf course Sneakily hard, don't let it fool you. Well maintained by greens keeper Greens roll wonderfully when they aren't overplayed. Negatives: Pace of play after 9am Union County only has two courses, and Galloping is very close to NYC so ALOT of people play this course every week which stops county members from getting tee times. drainage problem after a rainstorm on the back 9

But theres this one guy at the bag drop that needs to be a little more helpful coz i see people pulling up at the bag drop and this guy was just standing there doing nothing why not give the players a hand unloading. Isnt that part of their job?

Excellent course in close proximity to Manhattan. Approximately 40 minutes drive from midtown Manhattan. Driving range, putting and chipping greens around a golf training facility. Hilly course lives upto its name. 19th. hole (watering hole) has good selection of beer/alcohol/wine/food.

Rough is way too high, the course is currently geared toward a very small percentage of amateurs. Makes no sense, you spend all day watching people searching for balls right off the fairway, then trying to hack them out if they can find them. Idiotic for a public course, unless their objective is to slow down play. My round was close to 5 hours and my foursome never fell behind, just waited. Also, $75 is absurd for this course. Senior rate on a Thursday no less. Thank God I don't live here anymore.
