I see many nice reviews so maybe we were just there on an off day. I attended a wedding and reception yesterday at this place. The outdoor service was very nice. My only issues with this place was in regards to the reception where the staff who served the food and who worked behind the bar, mostly all seemed miserable. After we all had dinner, nobody cleared the dinner dishes off of the tables for the remainder of reception (over 3 hours). While everyone continued to dance and socialize we were surrounded by dirty dishes and some of them had scraps of meat on them. Not pleasant to look at for hours. When the chocolate dessert room opened you help yourself and when you got back to your table you had to push your dirty dishes aside to make room for your dessert, which by the way wasn’t that good. It taste like pre-made food that you would get from Costco. They ran out of coffee quickly. I didn’t even get one cup. I returned to the dessert room twice to see if it was refilled and it never was. Many people who wanted a cup of coffee did not get one as they stood around the urn with empty cups in hand waiting for someone to refill the urn. The steak and crab cakes were good, but beyond that I was not impressed with the service we had and I would not recommend the Downingtown County Club for a reception unless you could overlook the things I mentioned.

Excellent golf course. Fun and easy for not so great golfers like me, it is very forgiving. Employees are friendly. It is very well taken care of. Very much worth the money. I will continue to patronize this golf course and use it as a standard to measure other public courses.

I’ve been coming here since 1996, and I still enjoy this George Fazio design. Every hole is different. Played today, 11/10 and other than the bunkers the conditions were very good. It can be very busy so patience is recommended.

We recently had our wedding at Downingtown on May 15 and it was absolutely perfect! Terri, Bridget, and Amber made the day run so smoothly and really took away all of our stress. The venue was beautiful, all of our guests raved about the food, and the open bar was a huge hit of course! I am so excited to see all of the pictures from our day. We had our Golden Retriever pup in our ceremony, and Amber was such a huge help and jumped to help with her, and made sure we always had a drink in hand! Although Terri is new to the DCC team, you'd never know it! She took charge and really made the order of events more clear for everyone. Highly recommend weddings at Downingtown, it is so nice that everything (cake, open bar, meal options, etc) is included, it makes planning much more manageable. Huge thank you to all of the staff at Downingtown for their hard work and for helping us make our day so special and perfect. Thank you!!!

Nice Place for a big Party. We had a big Birthday Party here, the Food, Drinks and Service was great. I don't know how there Golf Course is we did not play Golf but it looked very nice.

Nice course that's very reasonably priced in my opinion. They really try hard to keep it in good shape. It's challenging but it's open enough that it's friendly for novice golfers (unlike Glenn Mills). Service isn't great, and for some reason the halfway house is at the 3rd hole. But it's a good place overall.

Played a round of golf here over the weekend. The course is in varying stages of condition from hole to hole. Even from the blue tees the front nine is very short with most holes between 300 and 320 yards with only one five and one three. Then the back nine has three fives and three threes. Greens were generally in very good condition. It's rained a lot lately and they were fairly slow so hard to tell real speed. Fairways were also pretty nice but the tee boxes were very hit or miss. They have obviously removed a ton of trees recently and there are a lot of seeded areas. My big gripe is that play was very slow and when we arrived on time for our pre-noon tee time, they were already three groups behind and completely unconcerned about it. No course marshals or any attempt to speed it up. Waited to tee off at all 18 holes for a 5+ hour round. Sorry, that's just not fun, especially at the $90 price tag.

Had my wedding here and could NOT have had a better time. Staff was amazing. Food was perfect. Venue was beautiful beyond belief. If you're looking for a venue I give this place a full recommendation. The price might seem high but it is without a doubt EARNED.

I had my wedding on 9/10/21 and Downingtown Country Club was AMAZING!!!! Terri was so helpful throughout the entire planning process. I truly had the BEST day of my life and Amber left no stone unturned throughout the day. Everything ran more smooth than I could have ever imagined or planned for. I was truly impressed by how attentive, on the ball, sweet, and patient Amber was (My wedding party was large and might have been a little difficult to handle). I'm so so happy I had my wedding at DCC. It truly is a beautiful venue and everyone still mentions how much they loved their meal. I had searched high and low for a good wedding venue, and I'm so happy that I can say I successfully found it.

We love the Downingtown Golf Club! I'm not a huge golfer, but really like their hospitality - especially the stone porch. . . Memorable Location! Welcoming staff that make you feel comfortable the minute you walk through the door.

My two-some was bumped from our tee time in favor of a single rider, who I believe was a member. No matter, we were paired up with another two-some and he only played 9. The back 9 backed up a bit and we were waiting on some holes, but nothing excessive. Unfortunately the beverage cart passed us on several occasions and didn't ask if we needed anything, so we stopped at the snack shack instead. Overall a good experience; long, flat, and challenging course.

Went there for the first time and was very impressed. The course is very nice and well maintained. It's challenging but fun even for a person new to golf. The staff is friendly and very helpful. Seven tap tavern is cozy and staff is friendly. I recommend golfing here because you won't be disappointed.

Great private golf course (friendly staff andfairways/greens are well maintained) but is also open to the public as well; Therefore, non-members have the opportunity to play on private course and pay fees that are only slightly higher than those of a Muni. Regarding how the course plays, I cannot speak for scratch or low-to-mid handicap golfers, but for golfers who are just starting out or have a high handicap, it plays in a way where you benefit from accurate drives and iron shots but you can still have a great time and not lose a dozen golf balls if you miss every fairway. Overall a great course and great experience.

We just had my Aunt & Uncles 50th Anniversary party @ Downingtown Country Club. What a great time!! They have amazing food... I had crab cakes, mashed potatoes, green beans & iced tea. Beautiful view of the golf course! ❤❤

Today our family enjoyed the Mother’s Day brunch at Downingtown CC. We had a later reservation but staff worked hard to keep the food coming. I can’t say enough nice things about the staff-very friendly and courteous. The food was delicious. The views and scenery are beautiful there-even on a rain soaked day. One comment-most tables had a half dead tiny mum sitting on a circular mirror. I think for Mother’s Day with so many odd visitors-they could’ve sent someone to produce junction and sprung for $50 worth of spring flowers. It would have been enough for every table. As an aspiring florist I was very distracted by the nearly dead out of season mum. Nothing would’ve been better. Still I gave them 5 stars because my other experiences there were always great- as was today- minus the centerpiece.

I haven't been to the country club in years, but when I heard there was a comedy show I had to get tickets. The comedians kept everyone laughing and the staff made sure no one left hungry or thirsty. I definitely would recommend the mozzarella sticks! I hope they have another event like this again!

Always in good shape. A little pricey but the only other local course better is Broad Run. Staff is always really nice. Food is always good and their bloody mary at the halfway house is worth a try; comes with a slice of bacon in it. mmmmm

First time experience was this past Labor Day, had some rain and a little issue out on the course but the GM mike Butler took care of it very quickly. Excellent customer service by him in handling the issue we had and I will definitely be back and recommending my friend and family.The CC has a very nice course and we had a blast! Thanks!

My first time to the restaurant at Downingtown Country Club. The food, service and atmosphere was great, much better than I expected to be honest. I have been to many country clubs over the years and I guess I expected less from one that is open to the public. I was very pleasantly surprised and would come back again. And it may seem like a small thing, but it was nice to not have a strict dress code to adhere to in order to get lunch!

This place is really stepping it up... it’s a local and PUBLIC venue for just about everything. Food is on point, events are fun and entertaining, staff is friendly and accommodating, the grounds and building are well maintained and decor is up to date... the list goes on. Has is a great course layout. A fun track that players of all skill level will enjoy. they have a nice putting range and the food is alright too. The service is friendly and helpful. warning: their are TONS of pesky bugs out there, typically gnats, which are NOT fun to be around. I've been playing there for years, and the gnats have gotten so bad that I don't go as much as i used to.

I have golfed at DCC for 10 years and the improvements that Ron Jaworski's team has made since purchasing the CC have been impressive. I would have preferred to have kept some of the old trees but one can't argue with the results. One example: the new putting greens near the first hole are great. The tees and greens are in great shape right now but a little slow.

Great course in excellent condition. Very well managed and run. Not a perfect course for beginners at least not am tee time as it is very fast paced with experienced golfers and you could feel rushed if not ready to keep moving. They are doing a great job with imorovements and I will be back to play again.

This place is well maintained but course is not worth 70 to play.. At best it's Not 50 course. I do love Ron s courses but this one is definitely not worth a trip for me. I rather play river winds or my favorite running deer... for that price..

Took a few business associates to Downingtown CC for a round of golf last week and I cannot say enough positive things about the golf course or the staff. The golf course was in great condition and the course is very challenging yet playable. Two of the gents I invited had not played the course in about 7 years and they were very impressed with all the changes that have been implemented by the new ownership. Opportunity to speak with a few members and they were all very welcoming and spoke very highly of the staff and positive as well about the continuing improvements. The General Manager even took time to stop by and inquire as to our satisfaction. Outstanding place to play and will absolutely be back.

Beware of going here on Wednesdays. When you book a tee time they don't tell you that you only get to play the back 9 twice but still charge you for 18 holes. There is a league and they pack the place so you dona lot of waiting. Also my partner got stung very bad by bees at the one tee box. Best in the ground.

I recently booked the Downingtown Country Club as my wedding venue because I instantly fell in love with the atmosphere and the employees. I attended a Bridal Expo at the Country Club just days after my engagement, just to get a feel for what was to come, and I knew that this was the place for me. I met with Kerry Connors, who was very helpful and down to earth. She made me feel at home! She showed me around and broke down what it would look like for me on my wedding day. I could really picture it, so I booked the venue a day later. Yes, I was an eager bride! But hey, when you know, you know! Its a beautiful venue with recent updates. Its a great space for all my guests and for me (since my fiancé and I will be getting ready at the club too). I'm truly looking forward to my wedding at the Downingtown Country Club.

Snuck over this way from Gilbertsville for a morning winter round. My buddy couldn't join me so I called ahead to cancel the 2-some. Pro shop was polite and appreciated the call. I ended up missing the turn into the course because it looked like I going into a shopping center. Anyways, I'm walking towards the first tee and I spot a couple guys coming out of the basement doors with their clubs (they were members) and I ask them if I can play with. 3 of us hit the fairway, the 4th guy hits a ground ball to 3rd base. Hilarity ensues and 4 hours later we're in the bar. Nicole was the bartender and she was great, poking fun at the members and letting me join in. Had a couple hot/bbq wings and they were pretty good also. You can see honest efforts of making the course easier (taking down some trees and mowing some of the natural areas down) and improving a water hazard. You can try to hit driver on every par 4 but a handful of holes have bunkers in the fairways and laying up short is definitely the correct play unless you're 250yds straight and all carry every time.The greens require some intelligence and speed discipline. All 5 bunkers I was in were in good shape. I enjoyed my round there and I'll be back up there again very soon.

Played on a Sunday during football season, watched the Eagles on my phone, course was pretty empty after 230 which was great. The course tees were in good condition (some were under repair), fairways pretty good, greens excellent. The course is short and relatively narrow, definately designed for low to mid handicappers and non slicers. Some very fun par 3's particularlly #12 which tees off down hill over water from right next to the clubhouse. Number #9 has two large safety bells that you ring as you make the turn which is kinda cool. The main draw to this course and reason for the 5 star rating was my customer service experience with Andrew. Upon arrival at the course Andrew got me my cart and explained the history/layout of the course to me. He gave me a YARDAGE book, yes for the first time ever, I was offered a yardage book. At the turn, I bought a cigar from the clubhouse but couldn't find a lighter. I asked Andrew for help and he immediately stopped what he was doing, went to his car, and got me a lighter, no questions asked. I felt kinda like I was at a private country club and I only paid $25 dollars with my Jaws card. Now that I played all 6 courses... Played here using the Jaworski golf card for $25 cart fee. All personnel were very friendly. The course was in fine shape - tees a little rough, but OK, fairways and greens were very good. Not a super long course, but still challenging. An old fashioned tree-lined layout that Jaws has done a good job with on the conditioning of the course. As a 3-some, we teed off at 11am on a Wednesday and finished in just under 4 hours on a day that we were told was basically fully booked. Only drawback is the lack of a driving range, but they just couldn't fit it in the space they have, and they do have 2 warmup nets to whack some balls into. Bottom line, I would recommend this course to anyone.

Very good Easter Buffett. Everything you might want. Lots of fruit and vegetables as well as entrees including very good roasted chicken, sliced smoked ham, fresh baked fish, excellent crabcakes and sliced filet of beef. Lots of sides and trimmings as well as all breakfast foods. Eggs to order, all types of omletts, pancakes, waffles and trimmings. They provide kids meals also.
