Reviews of Choctaw Creek Golf Course and The Country Club Restaurant
Fun but suprisingly challenging little track. The condition of the course is about what you would expect for the price. The layout is interesting with some tight fairways and small greens. It's a short course but has some unique holes with some blind shots and more undulating terrain than you would expect. I don't drink much but seems like a good drinking course too as they have liquor in the clubhouse. It's worth checking out.
Decent Course over all. Pro shop really needs some help and the cart paths are in bad shape.
Stopped by and Putted a bit a hit a bucket of balls. Good Sunday fun with the Granddaughter
Greens rolled awesome! Back 9 has the most character for sure. Can’t beat twilight with a cart for $16 . I’ve paid cart fee’s more than that for punched greens in AZ so this place is legit if you want a budget friendly round beer a hole type / great place to take a new golfer as well. You’ll see a lot of reviews about people wining about fairways… this place is on a strict budget … play preferred lies … it’s not that hard people … nobody’s gonna stroke you lol
Been to the driving range a couple times. It is clearly marked but the tees could be better.
Carts are slow, jerky and slow to start. Course was OK but with 90+ heat keep the water jugs filled.
Fairways need to grow, no rough, extremely tight lies, but so we're the fairways. Greens were aerated, but they rolled very nice. A couple of rains and spring weather should bring it all back.
The course was un good shape after the rain.. soggy in spots, but in par for any golf club not on of hill. The restaurant was not open and there were no food options besides chips and candy bars. At least bring in some pre-packaged sandwiches or let your guests know prior to arriving. The staff was accommodating and in good spirits. Read your scorecard as some holes are difficult to read. As for improvements, 200, 100 & 150 yrd markers are needed. Signs or arrows denoting where you should turn at forks in the road. Some tees are behind the turns etc.
Had Husband's Christmas party there and it was amazing.
The new addition of the restaurant is great! Much needed option for residents, and you don't need to be a golfer to appreciate the various food and drink options. I got the mushroom burger and it was excellent. My guest got the Hawaiian chicken sandwich and loved it. It was a beautiful Sunday afternoon and there was a tournament going on, but they even had their own section, so guests had privacy to eat in a wonderful atmosphere. Will go back! Love that I can order lunch and eat without being rushed.
Wanna play today? Well you can here. That’s the best part. The course is 18 holes. Lots of straights. People are nice and friendly too.
Nice people work there. Burger was good. The course was not on GPS and fairways doesn't have irrigation. It was difficult to navigate. Pretty rough, needs work.
I have played a great many PGA pro level on-tour courses around this globe; Chestnut Hills 'The Country Club'; Ventura; SpyGlass; Riviera; St Andrews; Lady Bank; Carnoustie, Doral; Farmington; to name a few. I am a huge fan of European Golf courses, and philosophy; Play them as you find them. Manicured golf courses are no finer than the one's found in Japan, where they literally hand cut the fringe; average cost is $300 a round. This Choctaw Creek course in not an ego course. Its rough and tumble and can be a visual nightmare. Make a mistake, and you will pay for it. Greens usually hold well, but will challenge good putting skills. Its what golf is meant to be. Reminds me of UK courses; where golf was born. Yes, it has room for improvements; drainage can be an issue and cart paths; which I noticed recently are getting fixed. Yes the parking lot is a moon surface to drive on. Neither are where I play the game of golf; hopefully. Hell, in England the parking lot is mushy dirt and gravel. If you challenge this course - bring you A game. Embrace this course for what it represents. It will draw you in and make you want to beat it; that's what golf is about. The course is your challenger. Oh you will cus at the Creek. Its not giving you a walk in a manicured park, and it will not yield to you easily. Love hate relationship; its perfect! The people are a fantastic bunch, who will laugh at your excuses; all you will hear is 'just get it done.' The grill; Bobby's food is is masterful. Families come to the Creek just to eat the food. So, if you're shorts got creases in them and you cannot handle a real golf challenge, the food may be the reason you come to the Creek. Want to know if you really can play golf, check your handicap after you play this hidden gem. Oh, and the club house isn't there for your shopping delight, nor is it designed to make you feel better about yourself. Its functional and staffed with very nice people. A great big thanks to all of you the Creek.
A very challenging course with water hazards abound on clearance yardages to which the average duffer will donate a whole box of balls. The city took it over after it had fallen into disrepair and they are slowly building it back up but there are still issues and ugly spots. Bottom line, I go and have a decent time but not my first choice until renovations are complete.
I knew the golf course & driving range were there, but had no idea about the open-to-the-public restaurant until I was invited to a bday party. It's a casual dining place with limited offerings, so ya don't get lost in the menu, & the prices are more than fair. The burger was juicy & had great flavor, as, I heard, were the steaks.
I've been craving another of their burgers, so I'll be back for sure! Indoor & outdoor seating available.
Golf course itself has improved a lot over last couple of years. Greens are now in great shape but some traps and fairways need a little help. Overall the course is in very good shape. Golf course dining is very good, could use some booths but food is great!
Haven't been here in years but Google thinks I was here yesterday so I'll let you know that I golfed here for about 10 years until the prices went up, the course was always under repair and the greens were what you'd expect from grounds crew in Choctaw. For the same price down the street you can play all day. The grill was amazing when Annette was running it, that will never be the same. Just like Tasty Burger...
Course is in pretty rough shape in some areas. Looked like they had some water drainage issues and working to fix. Greens were aerated but expected for late April. Blue are tips and plays a little over 6500. Whites about 6100. All in all not a bad course and difficulty is low.
Course was closed. Doing some work on the greens. Was assured they would be back open tomorrow and the greens would be rolling true in a few weeks. Heard good things about the restaurant but it was also closed. I did hit some balls on the range. I will come back to this review in a few weeks and maybe 3 stars will go up or down depending on if the course and Restaurant are open and any good.
It was my first time playing this course and it wasn't bad. The back 9 is great. The front 9 is a lil confusing (for first timersor at least me) Just wished they had a layout of the course on the scorecards or on the placards by the tee box.
my time at the golf course was alright. The front 9 at least was cut and not to bad. Nothing too fancy but an everyday man's golf course. The restraunt inside of the club house was pretty nice. A pool table (cost money) and a few other dart board games. The food was alright. Cheeseburgers and nachos, they did have a few choice steaks too.
This is a reasonably priced course in a simple down and back layout. It does need some work as there were numerous places where the greens were bare and the fairways we're infested with crabgrass. Even with those issues, we had a good time playing.
Fairways in good shape despite the drought - some greens with damage. Uncrowded, good experience overall.
Greens are in great shape... the rest of the course is in pretty good shape as well... need new golf carts... badly. The food at the restaurant is very good
Had to wait to get a golf cart. Delayed tee time by 30 minutes. Course was well maintained.
Played here with my husband Greg Mullens, Jack and Larea B. greens are so much better and driving range is great !!! Greg plays often — but likes it best when Jack is helping him keep his “swing “ correct !! Course has been improved greatly— recommend this course to anyone who lives within 30 miles of this course—
After being in the Food and Beverage industry most of my career...I can be more critical than some....that being said...the food is great.... quality ingredients done by someone who cares about what they serve...it not only looks great...it tastes even better....steak is melt in your mouth...
Still needs some work but for the money it is a great course. It has come a long way in the past year. I look forward to seeing the progress it makes me next season. Would definitely play again.
Greens are still in need of improvements. Shouldn't have taken 3 years to bring them back. Should have re-soded them when the city first bought the course.
Slowly getting better.
WOW, I could go on and on about how much this course has improved!! Jarod and Aaron, really make you feel like family. Jerrod and Aaron are the best, the city of Choctaw made the right choice with them. They have made some positive changes to the course.. I cant wait to see whats next!! Thanks guys!! Kim Hogue
Love playing this course very friendly staff and the course is challenging in some places defiantly makes it worth the while can't wait till next time that I can play
Nice course they have done some work on it and got new golf carts. Staff is very polite the cafe is pretty good. I look forward to playing there more.
Phenomenal establishment! Offers not only dining inside and out, but also books private events that are decorated and catered by the Country Club Restaurant. Opened 7 days a week!
Lots of fun, course was in good shape, nice greens. Restaurant's food was great too.
Course was in good shape very nice, the greens were a little. They tell you the greens are rough before you start. Keep up the good work.
Choctaw Creek Golf Course is a hidden jewel in Eastern Oklahoma County. The covered driving range allows practice in inclement weather conditions. The rolling terrain of the course offers a variety of challenges for the beginner and experienced golfer alike.
You have to come play this course to truly appreciate it.
The food here is top notch very good. From the steaks to appetizers and the house made salad dressing is fantastic. A must place to eat
Greens a bit rough but not too bad.
Nice course. Prefer to golf here instead of others simply because it has a nice layout, not simple but not too hard, and staff is generally very social.
The course was in good shape it's quite a ways away for me so I don't play often.
Didn't play on the course, but they have a nice driving range. It's covered, which is especially nice for those very hot days.
Golf course needs a little bit more attention but not in bad condition. Had fun playing golf at Choctaw Creek Golf Course
I do not golf. At the same time when I go to the restaurant here there always seems to be people playing golf. Based on the parking lot the golf course must be busy as the restaurant is not that busy but lots of cars
Great Christmas gathering there, grandson won a bike!!!
Some of the disc golf holes are fun, challenging, and well thought out. Others are not. Plus, it's difficult to find all the holes.
Fun course to play. Reasonable greens fees. Its a drive from where I live, but will be back.
Don't be fooled by the name. This is just a small-town restaurant that sits on a golf course. I've never been disappointed.
Great course, it’s a beautiful golf course and greens are in great condition.
Very pleasant staff. Course in great shape. Greens super nice.
Great course, I would just say it can get a little confusing from hole to hole. Especially hole 8. Got confused on that one but I think we figured it out ha.
Good local course. Hit 18 this past weekend and was a little disappointed in the condition of the greens. Hopefully it'll be fixed soon.
Steak nachos were way better than I expected. I would definitely recommend.
Great course for the value, and not too crowded very often.
It's my parents backyard Mr. Rocky & Carolyn Hall...its awesome.....its beautiful, peaceful and entertaining..
It was very pleasant. A nice place to go for Father's Day.
My parents live here the 18th hole is in their back yard.
We ate at the restaurant, food was ok. The flies seemed to like it, as there was a ton of them.
Great food and service. Haven't found anything I don't like. Awesome steaks!!
Nice, low key place that you can take your kids and not have to worry about being too fancy.
Hidden Gem. Very nice public course!
Good food The staff is very pleasant and helpful very attentive to their customers
I've only been once, and it was great. Our school team practices there.
Thank you Bobby for caring for my family and I. I love you! God bless
Great food! Fair pricing! Good waitress!
Great course, great prices, and fantastic staff, must play in okc area
Nice and cheap, great place to go with the kids, workers are somewhat grumpy.
Poeple there is very nice and the greens look very well kept
Nice course, really well kept greens
Friendly service, and one of the best cooked juicy rib eyes.😋😋😋 …

Very nice people clean love playing there.
Great course! Greens have really improved!
