Paid $280 for 2 tee times at 9am on a October Sunday rentals cart and 24 balls (some Bridgestone I think etl). Pace or play was miserable we were at 4 hours 15 minutes and just starting 16th hole we left. There’s no one riding around encouraging the pace of play. The guys in front of us would be 150 yards apart from each other as 2 guys look for balls as their other 2 are way up waiting for them to stop lollygagging. For the price wasn’t really worth it wish I didn’t wait to the last minute and played somewhere else. Course isn’t bad though pretty scenic with a thick forest and some fun challenges with nice elevation changes.

Lucky enough to live nearby, this is easily one of the best courses around. Challenging greens and hills, well maintained. Sunrise and sunset look incredible off the 10th tee, at the base of the hills!

I played in a tournament there last week just after huge rains went through. when we got there the fairways and greens were under water. the course looked like a big lake. I was sure we were done for the day. 30 minutes after the rains stopped the entire course was dry!! (except for some water in some bunkers). it was amazing how fast the course cleared out. when you putted on the greens your ball remained dry!! a great course!!

Played Sunset Valley for the first time last week and the course was fantastic. Tees were in good shape and greens were fast and true! Really great layout of holes, #4 and #7 on the front were a lot of fun and loved #13-#18. They have been doing some bunker work too which is always nice to see. I would absolutely recommend this course to anyone in Northern Jersey

Very nice and well kept course. However the Ranger is completely overzealous. We were almost finished hole 5 after being on the course for only 1 hr 5 minutes and the Ranger made us pick up and move to the next hole. I said to him "we're under 14.5 minutes a hole, the PGA recommended pace" and he told me that "this course doesn't really work like that" and was told that because the group ahead of us was already on the tee of the 7th hole. So if a group of 2 are playing at a ridiculous pace my 4-some has to keep up with them? Completely asinine, it's not our fault you sent them out early. We literally finished the round in under 4 hours. Being forced to skip a hole while under the PGA recommended pace is ridiculous, and IMO akin to extortion. Have some balls and tell your patrons that we're following the recommended pace. Especially when they're a group of 3 and they're deciding to tee off from the shortest tees. Therefore I CANNOT RECOMMEND this course.

Course was decent condition except for the cicada killers flying over the place , considering what they charge for the course it's kind of hard to concentrate when you've got big wasps flying around your face.

Not bad for a county course if you’re a county member. If not, then most would likely find the rates a bit high for the current quality of the track.

Been playing here for years…decent layout but pace of play can be atrocious. If you have rangers then use them.

Challenging course. Fast greens and not much room for error in the fairways. Fun track. 17 and 18 are as great as advertised. 16 is overrated.

You have to give so much credit to the grounds crew and the superintendent. From the beginning of the season the course was ready to go. Flush fairways, tightly cut greens and the trees barley budding, you can just tell they worked hard to get it in the fantastic condition. Now the greens are very difficult but that just makes you keep coming back as it is not the longest course in the world and you will have a short iron in to some of the holes. You're going to need spin here. The beverage cart girl is very friendly and the service was an A+. This golf course is a true hidden gem, will be playing it quite often.

Want to start off first by saying that the course itself is in great shape and in a very beautiful location. The greens are challenging and at $21 to walk in the afternoon it is overall a great bargain. However the pace of play is absolutely unacceptable. I've tried to get 9 holes in twice in the late afternoon (5:30) tee time but had to walk off each time. If the club can get that figured out it would be a great course for any golfer.

H haven't played this course in many years. But it was just as much fun as I remember. Greens are still lightning, large, and we'll maintained. I would like to give it a four and a half, but not possible. Well placed bunkers sneak up on you. Pace of play a little slow. Challenging par 3's. Scenic,and interesting holes. Minor cosmetic work needed, otherwise it gets a 5. Fun round!

Course is in great condition this year. Drains well. Has 2 inches of night before but fairway had no puddle of water. My socks were dry after walking 9 holes on Sunday morning. No ball marks on greens. Friendly staff. Overall good value for money.

Fantastic course. especially great that it's a county course Can be a little bit slow but overall fantastic. A little bit on the tough side and I would not know I was playing in NJ. The snack cart was around multiple times which made it better.

Played on a nice warm day in mid March. Ok, I get it. Its Still far away on the calendar from ideal golf playing conditions. But that said, the greens are way too hard where the ball will roll 15 feet, come to a stop, then roll back 16 feet. It's not even golf at that point. Bunkers are all unplayable. Every par 3 had closed tee boxes so you're hitting off mats. Manages 3 stars due to pretty good layout and $17 Golf Now hot deal! Won't rush to play it again

Played here on 9/9/16 for the 1st time and loved the course. Would have given it a fifth star if not for a few shabby tee boxes but Greens and fairways were in phenomenal shape. A good challenge from the blue tees as I'm a 12 handicap. Pace of play was good (4hr 10min round for 4 of us on a Friday afternoon). Staff was friendly and beer girl came around 4 times in our round👍🏻🍺. Course has some very challenging holes but rewards you with good tee shots. Certainly will return to play again!

Great course, in great shape, VERY slow. Allowing walkers in front of experienced players not good, stacking walkers very bad. Almost 6 hour round, unexceptable

Played July 2. People were very nice. Course in Good shape need some rain. Greens had a few problem areas. Over all a strong 4 star with Golfnow purchased tee time.

I really enjoy this course, but it was not in the best shape my last 2 rounds. The bunkers are not filled enough, yet filled with mostly packed soil and rocks. Even with that, my husband was swinging into tarp on 2 holes. The boxes could use some leveling.

Should be a great course but they have to change the slope of the first and fourth greens . The maintenance workers don't understand golf and place the holes in illegal spots on these holes which make them nearly impossible to putt on . I hit the first green in 2 - 12 feet away and 6 putted for an 8 . Great way to start , huh. The ball went up to the hole and rolled back at me further away each time until I finally nailed a 20 footer for 8. Other than the greens and the lack of knowledge from groundskeepers and probably greenskeeper , too - it's a great course. Now- change those greens !

Tight and tough greens. Holes tend to be on the shorter size, but you need a good approach shot to get it close to the hole.

Tee boxes chewed up. Overall course is patchy. Otherwise ok. For $72 greens fees - it needs to be much better. (Get some tips from maintenance crew at Neshanic)
