Reviews of Ted Rhodes Golf Course
This course boasts water hazards and bunkers throughout, and the greens were kept nice and tight! After a long drive walking 9 was just what I needed, and at an affordable price. My interactions with patrons and employees were positive and friendly! Not to mention this course has a rich history, sense of place and time .
Ted Rhodes was an excellent golf course!
Very nice! Great upkeep.
Prices were decent for walking. I don't know cart prices.
It's a bit more spread out than many courses, which makes for more walking. It's not terrible; just know it's more, especially from hole 1 to 2 and 8 to 9.
Staff in the pro shop were friendly and happy to have us. The course had a lot of water hazards and sand traps, and the fairways were very dry and somewhat rough....greens were good. Not too bad for a city owned public course and will come again.
Friendly accomodating staff who care as evidenced by new decor inside clubhouse. Fun course with water on most holes.
Nice course, in very good condition. Mostly level terrain is made interesting by abundance of water hazards. Nicely wooded as well - some stands of trees come into play but mostly serve as screens and backdrops. Clubhouse staff is gracious and helpful. Encountered no rangers on the course but this was a weekday morning and while there were plenty of golfers on the course, the pace of play was terrific.
Great course. Enjoyed our visit. Really wish they had Logo Balls. I collect them on my vacations.
For a municipal in Nashville it's hard to beat. Is also more challenging than it looks on paper
First 9 stacked along each other. Back 9 nicely spaced. Fairways very dry. Greens fast! Cart paths excellent. Price quite low.
Very nice place to walk and play golf.
Course is nice. First guy we talked to was super nice, second guy not so much. There was no food left, only chips and candy bars. Would recommend to not book so many tee times. Got caught behind a group of older men who wouldn’t let us play through. Took almost 6 hours to finish 18.
Sitting here just chilling watching people play tennis and golf enjoying the weather at the Ted Rhodes Golf Course B.B.NEWS
They put in Bermuda greens this year and they play like they've been in for a year. Very receptive and rolling great. Very playable course with a few challenging holes. Like the other Muni courses, they give a senior discount over 60 which allows you to play for under $30 including cart.
The staff has created such a great golf enviorment that when they finish their round they look forward to returning for another round . That course will give all the golf challenge that you can handle. Long fairways an you better be ready for that all important second . The greens are in great shape but you have got to allow for the speed, a few are as fast as those wild rabbits out there.
Very good public course. The staff is friendly and welcoming and the course is generally kept in good condition. The course is in good condition as of August 30, 2016. My only complaint is that hole 10 is pretty muddy at the moment. The pricing is reasonable for the area.
Great morning walk to start the day with my walking partners Carollyn, Melissa and Cathy.
Course is pretty flat but has a good layout. Challenging with all the water and sand. Bunkers were in incredible shape! And was only $13 per nine holes.
A real challenge for part-time golfers like myself, but a really nice morning! I would definitely play it again and I'm happy that I got invited.
Dry fairways, smooth greens, interesting holes.
Nice municipal course. Lots of water and some areas with drainage issues. Good pro shop and quick food for the turn.
We played 18 holes about a week ago. Bermuda has greened up nicely in the fairways and rough. Greens were rolling great.
Played the course with no expectations because of the very cold temperature (37 degrees). However, upon walking into the club house, and seeing a group of gentlemen gather around dining area - in conversation about a number of things. Gave me a mind that I was certainly in a special place. Everyone I met were more friendlier than I ever imagined. Because of the cold temperatures, I honestly did not expect any other foolhardy golfer on the course except for this "DIE HARD" lover of the game. So after paying my GF/CF, and putting a bit on the green near the club house. I saw and met a distinguish gentleman standing a the door (can't remember his name unfortunately) and after a brief introduction of myself. Ask if he had any tips about the course for me before I ventured out to play. He ask me to bring him a scorecard and the next 10 minutes or so, he gave me as much detail as I needed to be successful. However, the charm of my experience was being introduce to very wonderful gentleman, whose name is Robert. Sorry but I cannot remember a last name but no matter, according to the group of local gentlemen inside, whom I mentioned earlier. Informed me that Robert is a regular walking of the course and according to Robert himself, also runs the course while playing, and regularly plays nine holes in 45 minutes, accepted my request to be his playing partner for the evening. My experience at Ted Rhodes Golf Course was in one word, FANTASTIC! My hopes are to one day link up with Robert and those group of men who were so kind to me in every way and spend the day learning their true love for game. A SPECIAL THANKS TO ALL OF YOU WHOM I HAD THE PLEASURE OF MEETING AT SUCH A HISTORIC VENUE LIKE TED RHODES GOLF COURSE! You have made this young man feel very honored to walk those grounds.
Sincerely,
JD Hillsman
One of the premier "muni's" in Nashville. Harder than 2 Rivers and Shelby but probably a little easier than Harpeth Hills. Course has a challenge for everyone. Friendly and clean little club house. You gotta play this one and you can't beat the public rates.
I have found Ted Rhodes to be very friendly and welcoming despite some of these other reviews.
The greens are in great shape, and the course is challenging and interesting to play.
I consider it the best of the Nashville municipal courses.
Remeber folks,, it’s owned by the city. This course is incredible for what it is. Don’t be a spoiled little b***ch. Ted Rhodes is the perfect little challenge for every golfer,, tee in to green.
I just went to the driving range get some practice hitting in very nice quiet pleasant ppl I met there were nice I be back in day or so to play the course
One of the best underrated city courses!
For a muni, it's a really well set up golf course. Price is right, greens are hard but fair.
Tough little Trac: bunkers aplenty, water liberally thru-out the fairways, as well as devious trenches overgrown with flora\ fauna splitting fairways, greens in great condition: fast...all in all, nice experience.
We had a small group in town for a wedding and we enjoyed the course and warm hospitality from those who worked at the course.
Better alternative to McCabe. Comparable to Two Rivers, but not as nice as Harpeth Hills when comparing to the Metro Nashville Courses. Greens have been in great shape this year.
Course has been very well maintained. Greens looked excellent.
Beautiful course for a public course. Will kept and fun layout with water and traps.
If you love a challenge I recommend this course for beginners and veterans!!! Good luck ladies and gentlemen.
Very friendly. Very professional. Great course. Greens perfect. Got beat up, but in a challenging way.
Great course, staff, and experience!
Nice course. Great fairways and fast greens
will that works there is so funny and awesome and the course is awesome to keep the good work up
Nice layout and good pace of play. The greens have been recently aerated but I look forward to playing it again.
Course looks really nice, Ted Rhodes has the best greens in Metropolitan Nashville
Great golf course and nice staff. The food is a plus. Will be back soon!
Cart path in bad shape more attention is needed to this course especially since centrally located the city. Attention please
Course is in excellent condition. Definitely tests your handicap.

Great price for 18 holes. Grounds could be taken better care
I really enjoyed my day. What a challenging course.
It has been in this neighborhood since I was a little girl.I enjoyed watching golf games being played. Now my family playing there.
The place was beautiful. I was ridding the green-way and stopped by a pond in the shade for a rest and snack.
Again the course was in great condition! The greens were awesome!
The course was very wet after 1 1/2 of rain.
Love the course, plenty of water. Bring extra balls. Lol
My personal favorite course. great grounds.
Great Course To Play On, " Just Bring Plenty Of Balls Just In Case"
Great muni in Nashville. The fairways and greens were in great shape!
I actually hit the Cumberland Greenway Trailhead...beautiful!
Very good golf course. Cool environment
Friendly staff. Spend a pleasant day golfing and not rushed.
This time of the year January the fairway is dormant but the greens were just ok
Great course. Second nine is really fun.
Seems like a nice course.. we got rained out
Course has good character and even better greens
Historical golf course when Nashville was segregated this was the only place where Black people could play
Good course to play after work and slam a couple brews.
