The condition was perfect that day. Make sure you bring your own clubs. Although these unknown clubs were in decent condition, the feel was awful. Other noticeable fact: Grass might be too long in some location. We lost balls on the fairway. The drain of the bunkers was not good at all. You can try to find my ball in the 3rd picture

This course has improved greatly since I last played there 25 years ago. The fairways are tight but fair. Greens were fast but still playable. Overall, the course is well manicured. Thanks to the staff for their obvious concern about the course and the golfers.

Played 9 holes today at this course and had a blast. Course was in good shape and greena were super fast. Staff at the clubhouse was super welcoming. Will be going back very soon.

Great experience there. Staff are all nice. Prices are good. Minutes from my house. Could update the cart paths but not a big deal course has a nice challenge of holes on it and wildlife is nice to see while playing. Highly recommend.

We love playing this golf course. It is a beautiful course! We always get to see some kind of wildlife. Squirrels, wild turkeys, & deer. The club house is always very neat & clean when we are there. They always take wonderful care of their course.

I would give Henry Horton Golf Courses 5 stars no problem except for two things. I have played once a week for the past 4 weeks. The fairways and greens are in great shape. The tees are good, although a number of them are quite narrow (less than 10 ft. wide). The only problem with the course is that each time I played, the greens were pretty heavily sanded. I was told today by my playing partner (and confirmed by the man in the pro shop) that they sand the greens virtually every week. I don't understand why this is necessary as most courses only sand their greens when they are aerated (usually twice a year). The greens are in great shape, but the sand made them very difficult to putt. I see no reason why the greenskeeper feels a need to sand the greens so often. The only other complaint I have is the fact that when I called to reserve a tee time for myself, I was told that they don't reserve times for singles, but just come down, and the starter will 'fit me in'. I drove the 40 mins. to the course, and when I got there, the man in the pro shop told me that he was fully booked, and he couldn't guarantee that I would be able to play. I did manage to play, but either allow a single to make a reservation, or warn them on the phone that there is no guarantee that they can play. I love the course, but a couple of things need modification.

Love this course. It's small enough for beginners but technical enough for a seasoned vet. Has a few open shots followed by lots of weaving through wooded holes. Lots of shade! Baskets are constantly changing to keep the course fresh.

Lots of wide fairways, large greens that roll well, some of the best I have played on all year. Only set back was course was muddy because of recent rain.

Course is in good condition. The Greens are best of the best. Fairways are a little thin, not the usual thick green grass courses typically have. Looks like they’re trying to get the fairways to that point though. I’d give this course 5 stars if the workers behind the counter could ever answer the phone, and weren’t rude when they do answer the phone.

Our Friday morning golf destination! Tim the Pro is a great guy as is the entire staff. The course is in great shape and they appreciate your support. Great snack bar too !

A really well put together 18 holes of golf. Conditions are somewhat suspect for the better part of 8 months but really provides great conditions in the summer. Big greens and plenty of shots that require thought and shape. The 10th hole is one of the most challenging Par 4's in the state. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Often I'll go up as a single on a Sunday afternoon for a quick 9 and the course is usually to myself. Great prices and worth the trip from Williamson Co.

The golf course is in excellent shape. Pat in the grill is super nice and makes a great cheese burger. Played Sunday morning in just under 4 hours. Very challenging course. Been playing here for 35 years. Highly recommend.

Spent a weekend buddies trip here on the “play and stay” winter package. The course is in good shape and is challenging. Holes are longer and require proper fairway placement for approaches. Large greens were in good shape for November and putted well. #14 is a long par 3 that plays 200 – 250 yards, #10 is a monster par 4 and #6 a long challenging par 5. The staff at the pro shop was friendly and accommodating and the cheeseburger at the snack bar was outstanding. We stayed at the park inn. Rooms were rustic but comfortable and clean. The restaurant at the inn has buffets for dinner Tuesday - Saturday and breakfast Saturday and Sunday. The food was excellent and staff friendly. Will plan another trip here in the future.

The course is incredible condition and greens are super challenging. Only song on this course is they lack pin position indicators, which made it difficult to determine distance on approach shots. Otherwise, fantastic course.

I have never had a bad experience at this golf course. It is one of the most well maintained in the area of Nashville for the price. I and 7 of my work friends play here 3-4 times a year because we all simply like it that much. As for those looking to the reviews for the style course, expect wide open fairways, moderately hilly, and the greens have been iffy in the past but this last time we went they played great. The atmosphere here has been mostly laid back and you can enjoy your game without many interruptions or slow play; at least that has been my experience over the last 3 years.

I loved this state park course. The absence of houses on the course made it quiet and serene. Rolling hills. The course layout if favorable and forgiving while just challenging me a bit. The pace of play was way to slow - took us about 1.5 hours longer to play than usual.

Nice staff, decent range, fairways and rough are in great shape for a state park course. Pace can get slow weekends and if it's crowded during the week, but it's usually open. Great value!

Greens are in great shape considering the winter months. Great rates for off season and you can walk 18 on a Saturday. Challenging tree lined course but you rarely will lose a ball here.

I just played Henry Horton golf course today and was amazed at how good the greens were. They converted to champions Bermuda and they were in summer time condition. The absolute best greens I have played on all year and this is December. Thanks Henry Horton golf course.

The Buford Ellington course at Henry Horton State Park is a good quality layout, popular with local golfers. The tree-lined parkland course contains a variety of attractive holes and pleasant features, which should provide an enjoyable test of golf at a generally affordable rate. The holes are laid out in a wonderfully natural State Park woodland setting, without any intrusion from roads or housing. Worth a visit if you are in the area and have some time to spare.

Two seniors from Lebanon and Murfreesboro. Called Saturday to booked tee time asking about green maintenance. Was told they were aerated and sanded two weeks ago. Arrived this morning to play and sand was just put down on the greens yesterday and this morning. Very disappointing since we specifically asked about the greens before booking. Tim at the front desk was not friendly and acted like who could have cared less!
