Reviews of Franklin Bridge Golf Club
Miroslav Nikolich
As a River Club Member, I frequently practice and play at Franklin Bridge. I’ve enjoyed seeing my game progress and have fun in the process!
Once you get to know Brooks West and his friendly staff, you understand how much everyone cares about making FB a great place for the golf community. The capital investments to improve the course are paying off.
A special mention to Scott Hassee for being a great human and PGA teaching professional. Congratulations on the opening of FB Performance Institute. Evan, dude just hustles to organize great events for us.
Mark Arend
I give The Bridge 5 stars. I might be a little biased, but this rating is actually a reflection of the comments I get each day I work as a ranger/starter.
People are always very complimentary of what the owner (Brooks West) and his staff are trying to create -- and have created. Nearly universally, people are VERY POSITIVE about the experience of playing here. They appreciate the pace of play (usually!) and the burger and beer are an added bonus.
What I think sets us apart are all the good people who play out here. We are lucky to have such down to earth and appreciative golfers. Nothing pretentious here! Come out and give us a try. You won't be disappointed.
P.S. If you need lessons, we've got some great pros here too!
EJ Turpin
Very nice course, nice folks and facilities. Affordable and fun to play. We wanted to give them 5 stars but there was one very glaring drawback to our round and perhaps someone should rethink what the scheduling is like. From the first tee on we were three groups deep waiting at each tee box for the teaching pro and five adult students under his instructions. Instead of scheduling groups right behind them perhaps a half hour block of no tee offs would have allowed play to be better paced and not be slowed to an absolute stop by this teaching method.

The improvements made to this place under new ownership can not be overstated. The course itself has seen constant improvement in aesthetics making it more enjoyable to play and those improvements continue. The revamped practice areas are wonderful and essential to those looking to improve. Add in the instruction available (some free) with Scott H. and Elijah T. and the club is hard to beat. Kudos to Brooks and team for all the hard work. It is paying off and will only get better.

Fun public course, nice layout, and friendly staff. Greens were in great shape and had a quick pace. I have used the practice facility(Above Average in itself) many times but this was my first time playing the course. I will definitely return for both the practice facility and to play the course again.
Mike Lusso
Love the course, and all the tournaments they host. They have a great program to educate the members and the younger generation. This course will be one of the best in the State for many years. The course changes have proven to make the play fun and challenging for the right event. The Bear (2022) was legit this year.
Steve Harrison
Franklin Bridge has made significant improvements under new ownership; better course maintenance, great practice range, chipping and putting greens. Course has changed in quality based on the vision of Brooks to have a great public course. Brooks always has a smile on his face while taking his turn at running equipment (I believe he enjoys this part), supervising improvements or greeting guests. The staff is friendly and very helpful as needed. Scott Hassee and Elijah Tackett are available to make improvements in your golf experience. Evan is great to organize events for any outing.
Appreciate the vision Brooks is sharing as it improves my experience with golf and friends. Overall, a course to be enjoyed by golfers with different skill sets.
Ken Lee
I want to say that I have seen this facility grow from an embarrassment prior to the new owner to one that I am proud to wear the Red Bridge on my chest or sleeve. I can sit here and compliment the Superintendent and his crew to the employees within the clubhouse but it took someone to find those people. Brooks you have done an amazing job in just a short period of time!!! I can’t wait for what’s on the horizon. Thanks for all you do!
Allison Anderson
I have been participating in the instructional program for a couple months and I have seen a vast improvement in my swing. The instructors really takes the time to identify areas for opportunity within my swing. It's not just generic instruction. They also have a number of programs for all levels of golfers.
Ken Duncan
Great Golf Course and Community. Top notch staff who work hard to make sure you have a great experience when you come. The updates to the Course and Pub are well worth it.
W. Michael Miller
Brooks West has had a vision for Franklin Bridge golf club since he took over ownership. He has constantly and consistently made improvements to not only the golf course and facilities, but to the customer experience of all golfers. He deeply cares for the players!
shawn agustin
Course is in decent shape. Value of what you get is good but the Marshalls out here have a power trip. Went on the fairway once by accident as we didn’t know and no clear markings and we got the 10th degree. Never experienced that on a course before.
Dennis Burda
AWESOMENESS Played there 9/14/22 booked on-line
(very easy)
I'm a single playing senior (I'm 68) with discount a FREE cheeseburger and drink, my AMEX total was...
$43.90 for 18 holes and cart. That's a MONDAY, NOON TEE OFF!!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Played there 3 times in 2021. 9 times in 2022 I had the good fortune to meet the new owner Brooks West in April 2021 when we moved down to Spring Hill from Naperville, IL just outside Chicago. The course was starting renovations. I'm just guessing but it looks likes from 2019 to yesterday, Brooks has put in at least $3-4 million in upgrades easy. I Love it.
The Course can be very challenging for ALL skill levels.
It's very scenic for a suburban course. Several groups asked me to take pictures of them on the bridge.LOL I loved that.Nice Memories for all. HAVE FUN! If you want to complain, go back to work. Yes, there "are cart path only" holes that might slow down play, HEY wake up they are RENOVATING and applying new sod and watering, making new concrete paths, removing trees and roots, ALL while keeping a 4 -5 hour pace BE PATIENT. SMILE
and Tell the crew that you appreciate their work. Don't you love it when a stranger tell you what a great job your doing.
I applaud you and your crew 100% Brooks.
FOLKS...Play Ready Golf, once you get on the green,1st one to their ball putts and finishes, enter your scores on the next tee box, get your food and beverage after the round rather than on the 10th hole. Food at the turn will make you unfocused , lazy and tired. You'll enjoy it more after you BIRDIE 18. PS I had 4 birdies on the Back 9 which i personally thing is harder. Rather be lucky than good! Thank you Brooks and your staff I will be looking to join as a full member next year, God willing. Dennis B.
Alonzo Williams
Great place to learn golf from the instructional staff. The course continues to get updated. Enjoy playing here with my family.
kevin english
Fun golf course; I only played the front 9 but really liked the track. Great friendly staff! The island green on #9 was a lot of fun to play. I highly recommend it if you're in town and wanting to play a fun course. Very affordable too.
Linda Mayfield
Course is in great shape. Scenic views and friendly staff. A good value for your buck. Will go back again.
Josh Borders
Great golf course; even better community. Franklin Bridge is unparalleled when it comes to the community of golfers and staff. The new owner is fantastic and has improved the course's conditions and lay out tremendously. He is continuously improving the course, while keeping prices extremely reasonable. It's truly a public country club and the BEST golf experience in Williamson County.
Douglas Adams
Excellent course and owner is investing everyday to improve. Instruction is outstanding. Welcoming atmosphere.
edward ro
It was great!. Only thing I didn’t expect was that if you go by yourself you might have to share a cart with another golfer which I didn’t mind. But it might catch some people by surprise. They use gas carts, so it’s their way of saving gas since gas prices are high.
The water coolers on the course were a savior in this hot weather. Bring a water bottle and plenty of water
For a game of golf, you get a drink, burger or hot dog, golf cart and small bucket of balls (~ around 20). It was $83 for a 11am tee time. Sure beats Towhee’s price in Spring Hill, considering this place gives you food and range balls. I made the extra drive to try this place and it didn’t disappoint. Pace of play was ok although I’ve heard it can be much slower.
Alan Dash
Great course; according to my son in the pics. I don't golf; I play caddie, and apparently do a decent job of putting the clubs back into the right slots. After I clean the mud off, of course. It was $19 bucks for him, which included the cart.
Middle Tennessee Lawns Andy Hazelton
Solid pubic course in Franklin. We always enjoy playing here. New Bar, Carts and Pro Shop definitely helped reinvent the place.
Cathy Perkins
Nice course but super slow play. A group of six a couple of holes ahead of us. No rangers. Par 5's that are cart path only! We walked off after 12 holes.
Joe Whitney
Very fun golf course that is usually in great condition (from my experience). The only downside right now is that they are re-doing #9 to be a downhill par 3. It was previously a pretty difficult par 5, but it was a lot of fun. You had to hit it over the water 2 times. Kind of wish they kept it as a par 5, but the par 3 looks like a lot of fun too.
The round comes with a bucket of warm up balls, and lunch too. It is really a great deal.
Can't wait to play it again!
Mitch Strange
The new owner is doing an excellent job! Club house now has an accommodating sports bar and has been nicely renovated. The course also is in much better condition and overall experience is much better. My only criticism would be pace of play, but the owner is addressing that by spreading out the tee times to 10 minutes. The pace of play thing is a culture that members need to enforce or call out slow golfers, because it’s an accordion effect. If there’s a slow group in front that takes 5 or 6 hrs, everybody will be on top of each other, regardless of space in tee times. Those people need to be called out by Marshall’s and Members!
The experience has been great overall and the staff is always friendly. Love the changes being made.
Paul Kang
Literally the only 18-hole golf course in Franklin proper that is open to the public. The course is in excellent condition with fast greens that roll really well. The fairways are in great condition too.
Management and the owner have dedicated a good deal of resources to making the practice areas as nice as possible for those who need quality practice time. Practice areas open at sunrise, which is a nice bonus since other places will make you wait till a specific time.
The driving range can get full with a wait in the afternoon, but I recommend going in the morning when the sun is not beating down on you so much.
Playing after or during a rainstorm will require cart path-only play.
*Aug 2020 Update*
The course (greens, fairways, first cut of rough) s in fantastic condition despite the brutal Middle TN summer heat. New range balls help with your practice. They also replaced their golf cart fleet with new ones that are more powerful and help with getting around the course a bit faster.
David Alger
First time visiter and I thought they did a very, very good job accommodating the customers. I'm a senior, playing during the week. Playing 18 holes I received a small bucket of balls for warm up, a cart and 'code' for lunch all for $36.
BTW, the clubhouse/restaurant area and bathroom is updated and really nice.
Tim Lanier
Fairways, greens and tee boxes are in great shape. Staff is friendly and the new bar and pro shop are nice! A Great practice area, and a good layout to the course. I've played here 5 times in the last couple years and it really has gotten better each time. The new owners must really know what they're doing.
Mike Schmackle
Interesting course. Water hazards weave through the course requiring precision off the tee. Fantastic greens, some elevated, good undulations, with respectable speed. Greens fees include cart, range balls, and lunch... will definitely play again soon
Austin Tallant
Solid. Nothing spectacular but a great track to play after work. Going through a couple renovations right now so I’m excited to see how it turns out in the next year. The bar area is nice! Good beer selection!
Chance Dunnington
It's a good course overall but they really need to replace the grass on some of the holes and the practice green. Also their new membership rates are way too high if you don't go every day or two.
Elliot Ford
Overall nice course design and in good shape. Friendly staff, ownership looks to be committed to improving the course with many planned renovations to the facilities addressing issues they inherited from the prior owners.
Corey bowen
Course is in great shape. The normal price is a little high, but if you can find discounted rate we'll worth it.
Glenda Murray
Evan and his staff did a great job hosting our annual benefit golf scramble. The course was great, and our 92 players were able to finish in four and a half hours. It was a great day. We'll be back next year!
Kurtis Baker
New ownership for about a year now. I love this course, and the new clubhouse is revamped and remodeled. Great membership prices and membership perks are available. Driving range is available, and can’t really complain about it. If I could make only one suggestion, it would be to relocate the chipping area. If a golfer with hooking issues hits from the left side of the driving range, you’re in danger in the chipping area. Also some “Pros” will rain down balls in the chipping area from the driving range. Albeit it impressive, it can be scary realization someone is basically aiming at you.
Josh Dailey
I have mixed feelings about this place. It is the only full 18 hole public course in Franklin so they somewhat have a monopoly and can do what they wish. The course is not in really great condition, but it’s playable. At no point have I said “man I just can’t play here. It’s too poorly kept”. I’d give it a C which in school meant you finished the assignment. I play here quite frequently, and will continue to do so, but if another full course opened I would most likely give them a heavy consideration for my green fees. On the note of green fees, I recommend the players club if you play here often. $30 a month and it gets you $10 a round with a free drink (alcoholic or non), and gets you 2 free buckets of range balls per day. Convenient too because you just book online, and for range balls they just give you a key to go directly to the machine. Again, I enjoy playing here, I just wish the course was in better condition overall. Cracked cart paths, dying fairway, a few no drainage areas causing big flooding during a small storm. I’d say give it a shot and see what you think!
Jason Tucker
Nice course. A little pricey but not bad for 18 holes, cart and lunch. Lot of construction still going on. Can't wait to see it when finished.
D-W-C
Best thing to happen to this course is Brooks! Lots of very positive changes occurring. Can't wait for the new sports bar/club house to open. Last year the course was in very good condition. I fully expect the course to be in even better condition this year. The new pro shop is very nice. New carts are a big plus too. I'm looking forward to many challenging rounds this year. Pace of play can be a problem on weekends mostly. The management is working hard to solve this issue. Kudos to Brooks for listening to the members.
Brian Lewerenz
I liked the course and the bag of range balls included in the round. Tee times every 8 minutes with no ranger leads to very long rounds. It took over 3 hours to play 9 holes and wasn't even able to finish 18 due to darkness. I would play again but would definitely get an earlier tee time and just understand that a 5 hour round is likely to happen.
Thomas Doughan
Visited this course in March so the grass was still dormant except on the greens. A very fun layout. Every hole is different in design and can challenge golfers from every level. Good mixture of wide open and tighter driving holes. Played the gold tees at about 6500 yards. Greens rolled true and quick. Staff were very friendly (yes, even the starter and on-course ranger). Only complaints are concerning the beat up cart paths which explains the rough shape of the carts. Cost me about $21. For that I got the 18 holes of golf, cart, and a meal voucher. Forrest Crossing is an excellent value and worth a visit.
Jim Rucker
Update: The course is under new ownership and I have already seen much needed improvements. The rough is cut to a reasonable length and the clubhouse is being updated. If you had previously given up on this course, you should give it another shot.
Unfortunately, they need more money to improve all aspects of this facility. The course is okay for a public facility but the Bermuda rough eats golf balls. The clubhouse is poorly maintained and the food is overpriced. They do have some good deals to play that includes lunch and a players club that provides value if you play enough. It's the only 18 hole public course in Franklin. They do have a driving range but the balls are not great and the hitting area, when not on mats, can be unlevel with spotty grass.
Leo Glatkowski
Remarkable is how I would rate this course, new tees are great, all of the work to make it a lynx course is coming along nicely and really sets a good test to your game, the owner has created a golf community where you can always get a great game with a nice pace of play in a fun safe environment. The new teaching pro Scott Hassee is nothing short of a magic. In short this club is class.
Chris Ryan
Fantastic value! We paid $32 on a Saturday including greens fee, cart, range balls & lunch. The course is nice. Front nine is very open. Back nine is much more challenging. We played on November 8th, so the grass has gone dormant - just about everything is brown including the greens. We found the greens to be very challenging - fast with plenty of undulations. I would definitely recommend the course - especially with the Fall deal that they have going.
JC Godlewski
FuN place. Some holes you need to lay up and play it the way it's designed. Would like to revisit in the summer when everything is green.
Lisa Wamsley
Ok, so this is a Pre-view to allow y'all to get your game on ;) I am happily relocating to Tennessee in just a few more days and will be initially staying in Franklin (probably cannot afford to live there forever unless y'all find me a house to buy while "visiting"). Definitely wanting to get busy golfing as soon as possible so will be expecting y'all to be just as amazing as others have said. Looking for others to golf with as well. If any takers just leave word with the front desk for me.
Paul Mink
This isn't Forrest Crossing anymore! I've played 5 rounds in the last few weeks and my longest round was 4hrs & 15min. The new owner, Brooks is super friendly and they've done a great job renovating the pro shop and bathrooms. The staff is great and very firendly. The course for as much as it gets played is in good shape. They're doing it right!
Michael Tate
Played a good 18 holes in June. I am not a regular golfer, but found this course fun to play. The holes had some variety, and they were not right on top of each other. There are a few holes with water hazards. It did on seem overly long.
Everything was in good shape. Greens were fast but not too hard. The staff was friendly. This is a solid public course, but it does not have any "wow" factor.
Kenny Smith
Playing great! Can’t beat the price either. Nice scenery, and challenging. Love the course. Speed up play though! Ranger is out there, but didn’t really see much ready golf. Shake it more than twice, you’re playing with it fellas! Let’s play golf
Stader Richardson
I have always liked this tract, and excited about upgrades present and future with committed, new, local ownership. I gave the course a 5* rating, partially based on potential. Have played it 6 times this year and progress is evident each time. My only current concern, and should be an easy fix, is to PLEASE hire a Marshall. Last round, May 30th, we found ourselves behind a 3-some with one player struggling on each hole. The backup behind this group was evident on every tee box and every green as far back as we could see, with two full holes open in front of them. With the 8 minute separation in tee times and a full parking lot, it would seem to be counter-productive not to have someone marshaling the course. Hope there are plans to rectify this problem in the immediate future. 4-5 hour rounds are the only thing that would keep me from regular status here.
S Norman
Good course. It's easy to loose a few golfballs to the many hazards and in the tall grass. The prices for food in the clubhouse are a little high for a bratwurst, but the food tasted good, facilities are clean, and the staff was friendly.
Cam Cook
Great course - if you haven’t played since it was taken over and renovated, I highly recommend it.
Richard Backs
1st time playing Franklin Bridge. Course was in great shape for winter and the layout is very challenging. Price was very reasonable and includes lunch and a drink. Will definitely be going back!
Stephanie G
Enjoy the course but there are never rangers so it takes 5 and a half hours to play 18 on the weekends. Wish they would bring back the rangers. Also, they switched the front and back nine which seems to REALLY slow down pace of play. Wish I could just come out here and play in a reasonable amount of time but you have to wait on EVERY tee box. Gets pretty frustrating.
Fred Young
It is too early in the season to give the course an honest rating. Played 18 course was okay, staff is working to shape it up. Course has matured a lot the past 3 weeks. Prices are fair, especially during the week.
Christina Nelson
What a gem! Great course and clubhouse. Extremely popular and busy. Many improvements to the course... Looking really, really good. Very enjoyable.
Brian Bennington
The clubhouse here is vary spacious and the bar is very well stocked. I was in town visiting family and attending the Cookies with Santa function for the Forrest Crossing Neighborhood. It was fantastically done and kudos to all the neighbors for coming out and making it a great event.
Jones Nicholas
My experience at Franklin Bridge was not the best here’s why:
The fairways resemble a second cut and the greens are are very difficult to putt because of how high the grass is kept. I was also eaten alive by mosquitos; bug spray is a must.
Now that being said the course is scenic and the 18th hole is very fun to finish on. The driving range is also excellent.
This course has potential but it needs some work.
Dan Warren
I really like what the new management is doing. I like finishing on the island green, I think it's a much better finishing hole. I also felt more welcomed than I have in the past. Looking forward to playing more rounds here this summer!
Lee Engstrand
Course is fun. They have a Player's Club for $29.95 per month that gives you 2 large buckets of balls a day plus discounted fees with lunch and a drink included.
Keith Baldridge
Most conveniently located public golf course in Franklin area. Played Saturday, December 8th. Enjoyed this round more than most since due to iffy weather, the course had few groups playing. I finished 18 in about 2 1/2 hours and broke 80. Wish that were a more frequent occurrence. :)
jason Derr
New owner is putting lots of money into renovating the clubhouse and facilities. It is looking great. Course is still the same and in great condition for this time of year.
Norman Frank McGowan
First time playing beautiful layout. Staff very helpful, looking forward to seeing to upgrades with new management. We will be back this course has character!
Newton Harris
The course was decent and very challenging. In my opinion, a few of the holes are just unfair. The greens tended to be kind of gritty, but true.
Shane Reynolds
Really nice course for the price. Under 40 dollars to play plus range balls and lunch provided. Great pace of play that the management staff monitors well.
Rick Griffey
Great pro and staff. The greens are great and the course is good shape for this time of the year. Only negative are the geese.
eric duke
Love this course! I have been playing it since it opened. Welcome Brooks and family. He is off to a great start bringing this course up to it's full potential.
Stefan Tea
This is a fun golf course. Good shape, great staff, and great deal which included lunch. Hope to be back soon.
Daniel Bennington
Ok 30yrs a go this was cow pasture and unfortunately it still is. Lots of no grass spots and the tee boxes are dirt and bring a drill to put your tee in. With the river right there to water it should not be that dry.
Morton Williams
Great price with lunch and range balls
Joseph Walston
I only used the range. Not a bargain to hit off dirt. Seemed decent but not super attractive as a not so cheap public track.
scott sliger
Great rate for seniors . they remove trees and shrubs that took away some of the beauty and makes it easier course to score on. Bombs away
Bob and Annapurna slayman
Very nice well kept golf course with driving range. Very friendly and helpful staff. I bought a membership right away.
Grover Collins
I play at Forrest Crossing from time to time when I make it down to Franklin. This is a nice course at a good value. The greens are in poor shape currently, but the overall value is good. I will be playing here again.
Justin Curatola
Great place to Golf. Greens were well maintained and well put togeather. Very easy course to play , flows well.
Wayne Weathers
Love this course highly recommend joining the river club 34.99 for 10-15 dollar golf 2 buckets of range balls for free and free clinics
gerry neese
Fun course, friendly staff and they keep play going. Free burger was great, free range balls are great idea for a decent price
Phil Fisher
Good course well maintained especially with the heat of this summer. Great value with the range balls and lunch included.
Daniel Witherspoon
A beautiful place for a family day out and stay. My wife and children enjoyed a lot. There are a lot of fun activities and rides for every age group of children.
Ronald Hodges
Very nice upcoming golf corse through renovation/ maintenance being done on the course, great course, great atmosphere.
Zach Hilbers
The course is in great shape right now. fast and fun greens! tee boxes are a bit firm. I thought I might run out of tees!
Jules B
Wonderful place to go golfing! Young man who brought me my cart was super considerate! Great place to see a sunset!
Scott Brasfield
Great place to play golf friendly staff.
Make your tee time early.
Stephen Color
Really solid course. Not a 5 star quality course, but in very good condition, very good staff, and great price.
Zack Houser
If you haven't played here in a few years, give it a try. New ownership has it in great condition.
Me Heitz
Great course good layout. Makes you think about your shot selections. I will def play here again.
Thomas Brown
This was a great golf course. I would recommend it anytime. Great price also.
Jason Jeong
Meets expectations for a public course. Facilities could use a little love. Range is in good condition.
Jeffery Rogers
They have a good staff but the prices are a little high for me .The the course is nice people on the course are very nice friendly.
Joseph Welch
Take bug spray. Mosquitos are AWFUL there. Got absolutely swarmed for 3 or 4 holes.
Dave Pando
Greens were great, pub food tasty, can’t believe this is a public course!
Chris Wood
It was cool and the gang.
Peggy Orendas
I wish the forward tee boxes on some holes that are way to the left or right of the fairway would be aligned with the others.
John Lomas
Golf course is wet due to recent weather but greens are in great shape.
Richard Thyer
Very old school layout. Pretty wide open and the greens are slow. Not many other public options in the area.
Matt M.
Great rates. Great course. Love this place! New ownership is awesome!
David Blackwell
Played with Grandson. Course is well managed and in great shape
We will play again tomorrow
