Reviews of Gross National Golf Club
In my opinion this is a very nice course. Good for anyone with a high handicap, and a good run for those who can work a ball. I would say on a scale of 1 to 10 it's a 7 but only because it's a little pricey . Also greens are a bit dicey but all in all a good track.
Played the front 9, but have played out here a bit over the years. Enjoy the course it can challenge you if you get caught in the trees. Seems like they have opened the course up since I last played. Greens are in decent condition and the staff was super friendly!
Picture is of hole 4 up the left fairway.
This is one of my all time favorite courses. I used to work near here and I have golfed this course too many times to recall. It is difficult to top the convenience of the location! It’s always in good shape, not terribly long, but challenging and fun.
Underwhelmed. Heard a lot of good hype but was left far from impressed. Decent course but not very newcomer friendly. Hole 3 was a joke.
Nice course. Very nice for a city course. Good value. Well kept. Nice clubhouse. No alcohol, beer only.
Fall days with beautiful colors
The course was in ok shape. The greens are definitely on the slow side. We had a group of 3 foursomes out after work and a heavy set guy in a creepy looking white van got after us for grabbing a beer out of trunk at the turn bc their bar was cash only (didn’t have a working card reader). He then proceeded to get in our faces and yell. Fun course in the sense that you can score very well, not much trouble. Overall great experience, just look out for the few employees carrying an over inflated sense of importance.
Great course. Enjoyed playing there. Thought it was about $10 more expensive than most other coures our group plays.
A very nice experience. I had lot's of fun playing golf 🏌️♀️ here. …
Course is in pretty good condition. It plays very easy. You won't lose a ball. All the holes play pretty well. It was a bit crowded though, and slow as times. Weekend cart 18 holes was $61, which seems high. Greens were slow but that's okay for rusty spring golf.
Like this course but fairways needed to be mowed. Too long on too many holes. Felt like you were in the first cut of rough. Greens needed to be mowed. Very slow and balls did not roll smoothly. If you are going to charge $50+ for seniors on a weekday, the course needs to be maintained better. Friendly staff.
Always friendly staff to welcome you to Gross National Gulf Club. The coarse is walkable and no golf cart needed for those who are able to walk for three to four hours. The coarse is technical enough for you to use most of your clubs and creativity. Enjoy your round of golf!
This used to be a very nice golf course; easily the best MPLS parks course. Not sure why but the conditions have deteriorated considerably in the past year or two. Many greens are inconsistent and choppy, fairways have sporadic dead blight patches, and there is compacted soil in areas just off the fairway or fringe. That said it's still playable and is a fun layout. It would be great with a bit more care/budget.
Gross National is well maintained course. Recently, there has been some renovations. I like course because of small rolling hills.
Really nicely maintained golf course. Not punishing for the beginner golfer . Some holes were on the short side (par 5 #10 for example), and a couple holes with greens out of action and moved to fairway was a bit disappointing today. Overall, nice course and enjoyable round.
Gross National is a really fun course with quite a bit of difficulty incorporated! For the most part it is a fairly short course! It is best if you can get out during the week here because the weekends are far too busy! Overall very enjoyable twin cities course! Definitely a must play if you’re in the area!
Great place for mid-game people who want a good change up between hard and easy courses. Has a good amount of sand and a little bit of water if you play 18. Great times for all.
Very nice golf course. Holes 4 & 9 both have temporary Greens so the clubhouse nicked $10 off the green fees! Overall the course is nice and open. Easy to play the whole round with just one call
Enjoyed my round. Played in the fall and wasn't too busy. The course looked great. Greens were very slow but smooth. Par 3's lacked yardage markers. Fun layout. The value is fair was something like $45 with a cart. Has potential with some minor upgrades (pro shop and improved snackbar/food?) Will play again.
Course was in great shape. Greens were looking good. Looking forward to my next round.
Gross just joined the PCC! It's always in really good condition. I played with a couple buddies first thing this morning and it was a fun round! Greens are true and good speed not overly fast. The tee boxes and fairways and greens are all very lush and green and in great shape. They have a shorter driving range not sure the distance can't hit a driver. The practice green is big, it's a little ugly right now. Overall a great course the staff is on top of their game! Thanks for joining the PCC! Will definitely be playing more there!
Course was in decent shape. Fun times.
Course was in decent shape but group in front of us was painfully slow, even got worse after the course marshal warned them about slow play.
Not one to usually complain but they had 2 groups jump ahead of them and we played a par 4 hole twice and still ended up waiting on them
One of the reviews is from a few years ago when even a lot of the staff will admit the course was in rough shape. I just recently moved to the NE Minneapolis area and Gross is the closest and most affordable in the area. The staff at Gross has talked to customers about projects they have been doing and continue to do to improve the course.
I have played the course about 12 times this year as early as April and now in late September and the course is in great shape. The tee-boxes, fairways, greens, and even the sandtraps and rough are all maintained well and have been for most of the season.
I am usually able to get a tee time in the morning, afternoon and evenings during the week and on weekends without much hassle and pace of play is usually pretty casual and has a good flow. Its a great course for average/intermediate golfers and can have challenges for advanced golfers as well.
Fun course, teed off early in the morning and was done with 18 holes in 3 hours and 10 minutes.
The course is consistantly in very good condition, a helpful point on the score card is suggested tees (blue, white, or gold, for men) one ought to play from according to your handicap. Get a tee time reservation, this course is popular & gets lots of play. The only draw-back is the location of the driving range, it's quite a distance from the clubhouse
Great public course that I'd kept in good condition. Greens need a little help but the fairways are really forgiving.
I really enjoy this course. It is the best of the Minneapolis Golf courses. It is a good place to play for all ages and skill levels.
Course was in nice shape. Inviting, enjoyable, not overly difficult course. Not much water, but plenty of trees.
Played for the first time because of PCC and love this track! I’ll drive from Eden Prairie to play here regularly. Great to see the Minneapolis courses in good shape. Staff here is great too
Been here twice now, and both times the course was in great shape. Well maintained, friendly staff, forgiving fairways and soft greens. No complaints here. Would recommend 👍 …
Very nice course. Nice tees, greens, and fairways! Easy course to walk too. Nice greens fee price, and the cold beverage after was priced right too! Easy reccomendation! Go play!
The course is in good condition, lots of fun holes and at least when I hit behind a tree there was some shade from the hot sun. I will be back soon.
Love this course, easy to walk, short hole are a challenge. Greens are true. Don't judge it by the early spring play this course May and it in great shape
Fun mini golf course. Pace of play seemed slow on front, but we still played 18 in 4 hours. Greens were very good for a muni
Nice public course - enjoy playing here every week
Nice course. Good challenge without being over the top. No water to hit over, but there is some water on the course. No gimick holes. We'll maintained. Friendly staff.
The course is a fun layout with mature trees. The fairways and greens have some problems from winter kill. It's too expensive for what you get.
The course is in great shape, but crowded and slow playing. It was a Saturday. I'll come back and finish the round when less crowded.
Probably my favorite Mpls city course. Usually in the best shape of all of them. The greens we're a little janky for July, but still nice.
Not too challenging of a course, decently maintained, but very slow pace of play and the beverage cart didn't make the rounds on a hot day.
This is the best maintained course of the MPLS parks courses. Great layout, good staff, course is in great shape
Decent course. The fat man that works in the clubhouse is very rude and condescending to customers. Jerk to me and other patrons as well (not in my party) Not sure what his deal is. Little D perhaps.
Course is in great shape. Some of the employees appear to not want to be at work. Remember to smile and greet the patrons.
Very challenging, but very fun course (I'm generally a bogey golfer, for reference). Very well maintained for being a municipal course
Greens Wintered beautifully. The new #3 is great...nice work!
Good pace of play and course conditions for the price. Definitely my favorite value course in the cities.
Nice course but a little over priced, we had a church tournament with 79 players, we have had our tournament there for a very long long time, would love to see a better price for as many years as we have had it here
Great kept course. I probably play 12 round a year here.
Very much an easy course to play. A few trees but no water holes at all.
Pretty expensive if you only play nine holes... Otherwise fine
Nice city course, usually maintained pretty well and the staff is always friendly.
Wide open for the most part, a little noisy on the course due to businesses. Short driving range. It's a good deal though.
I have worked there 30 years! Its a
Great. golf coarse for all ages and
all handicaps.
Course in great shape. Pace of play excellent. Easy ride from the city of msp or St. Paul. Hit em straight.
Well maintained, good layout, challenging, and enjoyable Audobon course. Friendly club house staff. Slow weekend play.
Wonderful public golf course. Well maintained, fun to play and a decent challenge.
Very nice course; maintained well, however always busy during summer.
It is a nice course and fun to play. Good environment and beautiful course
The course is beautiful this week .
Challenges every part of your game. Bunkers need better quality sand though. Leagues start early.
Fairways in great shape, some greens a little rough. Beautiful day for golf.
Nice course, great shape. Best of all the city of Minneapolis courses.
One of better Minneapolis Golf course. You can easily walk the course. Lots of channelling hole's.
Love this course, first round of the year, great to get off the carpet!
Good course, fair pricing, can play a tad bit short, but ive yet to break par, so it must have other challenges to keep it in line.
First time playing here. Not a long course by any means but the greens were fast to make it challenging.
Nice Golf Course Long good shape think I'll give it a 4

Great city course affordable. Has indoor simulators in winter.
This course is my favorite of the five Minneapolis public courses. It takes me to a different time when I play here.
Plenty of space on the fairway makes it fun. Well kept course
Good pace of play decent course close to the cities!
Very nice course. Easy for a novice
Course is in amazing shape. Perfect greens.
Nice greens. Trees a plenty. Back 9 is the best.
Considering the drought it was in great shape 🤔 …
Course is in pretty good shape. ⛳
One of my favorites and it's close to home...
Better than average municipal course.
Nice wide open place for snowshoeing.
Great course awesome staff
Good course and was pretty forgiving.
Beautiful place to golf for a reasonable price.
