Reviews of The Bull at Pinehurst Farms Golf Course
The Bull is a beautiful course full of challenges. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Rays of sunlight bring golfers good luck. I will definitely return!
Played 18 on Saturday. Course was well maintained, facilities were well kept. Met one of the new owners and was happy to hear its in goods hands! One of the best public courses in all of Wisconsin!
The Bull is BACK!!! First time there under the new ownership. Great track, worth the price, food was great, one of the new owners (Randy) went out of his way to welcome our 4some and thank us for coming. Starter and bag crew were also friendly and accommodating. Riley the bev cart girl was personable and fun too. Starts at the top!!! So worth the 90 min drive. Great job gang!
Without a doubt one of the nicest courses in the state. Just as fun as the neighboring Kohler courses and about 1/4 the price. There was absolutely nobody on the course so I hope they're doing okay financially! Would hate to see this course close.
Course was immaculate. We had so much fun!
The Bull at Pinehurst Farms is truly a hidden gem of WI. The Nicklaus design is brilliant yet challenging that features wide fairways and undulating greens. Holes 5 6 7 9 15 and 16 are pretty amazing.
My groups experience was great! One person we nervous about the drinks as the last time they went there was issues in the 2nd building but not the main one. The old fashions were on point!
Yet another great course and only Jack Nicklaus designed in WI!! Great views and a course where you need to play a little target golf to shoot a good score. Hoping to make it back soon for some redemption
I love this course. Almost have to say it’s a hidden gem since the Koehler courses are across the street and in shouting distance. However, do not sleep on this course. With tees for every player out there, this course will test your game in every way possible. Greens are always rolling pure. Very little wear and tear on the course.
The staff is second to none as well. Very friendly people in and around the clubhouse. Their food is very good as well. The little halfway hut they have has very good burgers up there.
All around, would recommend going here. It’s a treat the five times I’ve played the course. Every time I seem to test a new part of my game which I enjoy and also question(myself).
The BEST in Sheboygan...
I came to Wisconsin on a trip to play the courses at Kohler. I had a free morning and found the Bull - this ended up being a great decision.
This course flies under the radar, but it was by far my favorite of the trip. You play a wonderful variation of holes, topography, and different arenas (farmland, woods, creeks). My favorite stretch was #4-9 which transitioned from the open part of the property, meandered through the woods and returned to the clubhouse.
The photos posted are the approach on #5 and the tee shot on #9.
The Bull is a must play!
Unbelievable track in exceptional US Open caliber condition. It's tough and fair. No gimmics.
Staff is warm and accommodating and the food is excellent. Make a day of it. You'll be glad you did.
We played the course yesterday Aug 11th, 2022. Honestly I will not be back until....that outdoor gun range closes. I do not need to spend a beautiful summer late morning / early afternoon hearing loud gun fire going off all the time.
The course (fairways, greens) is in great shape. The employees were excellent. And the part I really loved was that they didn't pair us up with another twosome. I would give 5 stars but both of us felt it was overpriced when they are currently doing work on the course. The front nine had construction on every hole for the bunkers. I understand this may be needed but during this time it would have been great to have discounted tee times. The times we hit in the "bunkers" it was so hard that the ball would ricochet out and get lost or end up in a bad situation. And there are plenty of bunkers on this course. If you are thinking of playing here, maybe wait until the construction is complete. Then you will get your money's worth at the going rate. Play somewhere else until they are finished. Then go play here!!!
Cool layout with trouble abound. Could make it a little easier but still a fun track, Jack demands accuracy.
A must if you are a golfer in the Midwest. It’s one of the great courses in the Sheboygan area. Very challenging with a beautiful layout. Pictured is the par 3 6th @ 180yds of all carry
this is the BEST VALUE COURSE IN WISCONSIN!!!! Have played whistling and black wolf. Probably not as good as the black wolf river course but better than the black wolf meadows. For the price you can’t beat it. this course is a must play if you are in the Sheboygan area.
I was very impressed with the condition of the course. The layout is tough and requires one to think their way around or you will pay with with extra strokes. We had great fun and will return soon. John and Randy really know what golfers like and didn't miss a beat. Can't wait to return! Now one of my favorite courses! P.S. food was great too!
Absolutely a top quality course, it is surprising this doesn’t get more press. A must play if you’re in the area/playing others around it
Course is in fantastic shape and the staff couldn't be more courteous and professional. Definitely worth the trip but bring your "A game" especially if the wind is blowing!
Immaculate course, some tight holes that require pinpoint shot placement to score. Nicklaus knocked it out of the park designing this one.
The service was wonderful, she kept our drinks full and cleared things as needed. The food, my husband ordered the hand breaded potato flake perch dinner, it was crispy and delicious. I had the turkey blt and it was fantastic, the turkey was so moist and flavorful, the bacon was perfect. And their French fries perfect. I highly recommend this place.
Played The Bull Wednesday, May 18th, on a cool cloudy day. Scott, the PGA Professional was welcoming and helpful. Fairways were perfect and greens rolled as nice as the Kohler property we played the day before. Bunkers under construction on the back but this is worthwhile progress - the completed bunkering is top notch (and I'm happy to take the drop!) When we finished two of the owners greeted us and asked about our experience and what we thought about the course and service.
Will keep The Bull in the rotation!
Beautiful course. It’s challenging, need to play golf shots the entire round - no grip it and rip it.
Course is in top notch condition. Exceptional value at 75.00 for early week June special. The golden bear makes you think on every hole. Good shots are rewarded and bad shots are penalized heavily. Very scenic course. Management and staff polite and friendly. A must play!
Had a great Father’s Day. Course is just what I remembered. Did not have time to check the restaurant though. Some other day.
Got married at The Bull 7 years ago. Finally made it back for date night. Under new ownership, the service, food, and drinks were wonderful. I enjoyed the swordfish special with a delicious side of kale/squash salad. My wife had the tenderloin sandwich with fries, both great taste and texture. Not just a great golf course but also a great dinner spot for all, including non-golfers. Definitely planning to spend more time here going forward.
I ordered the turkey blt sandwich with fries it was delicious!! I also had potato and leek soup it was excellent, my husband got the perch always a great choice.
First 3 holes are average at best, but the rest of the course is great. Definitely a shot makers course. Lots of short par 4s that require precise layups. Definitely will punish you if you miss fairways. Greens were super smooth. Would definitely play it once a year.
Awesome course and outing with the Packer Hall of Fame players. Very playable if you stay in the short stuff.
Great course. Enough of a challenge for both the experienced player and some still working on their game, like myself. The only issue I had was the greens could use a little TLC. Lots of dead worms and branches on every green. One would think a course with a reputation like the Bull would keep these pristine.
Absolutely beautiful. Conditions top notch. Course difficulty a little over the top in spots. Thanks Jack. Green sheet may show green 35-40 yards deep, not where they put many of the pins. Maybe play a few times to know which pins to aim away from. 16th hole tee shot ridiculously tight. 18th green unhittable in regulation for mortal man. Would play again if just to see some higher handicap friends give up golf.
Hidden gem! If you're playing Whistling Straights definitely give the Bull a go. Really tough from the tips.
Play the tips. You might not shoot well or you might play the round of your life. Beautiful course. Great condition. The staff was fantastic. Grounds crew was courteous when I came through. The staff in the club house was also very nice. Tammy the bartender was great and I had a chance to meet Chad who managed the operation. This is the best public course I have played in my area
Great course. One of the most challenging that I have played.
Golf review- by far the most challenging course I have ever played, gorgeous layout that requires pinpoint accuracy or you will lose balls, and leave yourself with tough bunker shots. There are deals to be had if you do a little research. We got on for 50$, for that price had a great experience, however if I paid full price well over 100 I would be upset that there was no attendant to greet us , no starter, beverage cart stopped circling after hole 8, very understaffed for a Friday afternoon in June. Greens need a little more attention from the grounds crew when it comes to ball marks
GOLF REVIEW - Loved it. Coming in, we heard this course was tough. This course lived up to its expectation. Very challenging. Excellent golf course conditions including cart paths. Great staff. Yet another Wisconsin gem. Whats with the BLACK GOLF CART SEATS? I know your color scheme is black but those seats are way to hot when they are in the sun.
We played the course yesterday. We arrived @ the clubhouse around 9a.m. so that we could eat breakfast before our 10a.m. tee time. There was virtually nobody in the restaurant except a cleaning lady. We sat for at least 20 minutes before our waitress came over and told us the restaurant wasn't serving breakfast until 11a.m.. All she had was Jimmy Dean sausage sandwiches and coffee. The sandwich wasn't even warm. The course itself was magnificent albeit cart path only due to the recent heavy rain. On a course such as this, cart path only is probably the worst possible option. Then on one par 5, the hole gave you two possible ways to play the hole. The only problem with this was that there was no cart path on the right side, therefore the cart with clubs were on the other side of the water hazard with no way to get to the cart. They should have had a cart path on the right side of the hole. After we finished the first nine, there was a monsoon like downpour and we decided to get lunch in the restaurant. Again, there was only the one waitress and we found out, one cook also, so we waited for @ least 30 minutes before our food orders were taken. We waited for the food and when it was served, one of the orders was totally wrong so someone had to wait until the correct food order was prepared. No excuse for the restaurant to open @ 11am, and be understaffed with resulting poor service as the end result. The course itself was outstanding and I would love to play it under dry conditions.
Played in wet conditions, not the courses fault mother nature decided to rear her ugly head. Definitely a tough track. Used every club in the bag. Lots of well placed bunkers, hidden creeks and mini lakes waiting for the errand shot. Staff was very friendly and willing to help. I would recommend playing here at least once but bring extra balls.
A group of 4 this weekend played 36 holes at the bull.the fairways had a lot of divots unattended to several greens had many holes from balls. This is nice course being abused by people. Fix your divots people. we also had steak dinners afterwards they were great. Thanks to all the staff we had a great time. See you next year
Just had a small company Christmas Party at The Bull. They were spot on with service! Our servers were fantastic. Nobody went without a drink, the apps were good and on time, and the meal was great! Highly recommended for group meeting space or parties! A+++
Great Golf Course! This is a must play course for anyone who likes golf and if you keep your eye out for deals it can be played for a reasonable price. I'd highly recommend getting the 50/50 card they offer around Christmas time every year.
Threw a 65th Wedding Anniversary for our Mom & Dad on 10/15. They were thrilled with the end results. All smiles and no complaints. Rich and patient planning dialog with Carolyn at all steps in the process. Savvy bartender in Jason who knew how to keep all sides happy. Rob very responsive to the one tech issue we had (which the guests never saw). Food great and plentiful. Good decision making on the fly with the crumbly carrot cake we had provided :) . A very pleasant experience all around i
Why does a course of this caliber not have someonw maintaining the pace of play? Today's round took 5 hours 15 minutes. Great course but needs someone maintaining pace of play
Great golf course. Conditions excellent, layout is great with some very challenging holes. Very good practice facility. Lots of deals but whatever the price, even rack rates its worth it.
Beautiful layout. Extremely hard so bring a lot of golf balls
Excellent meal and desert.
great service
Owners were there with a smile
Chef was awesome
Bartender did her job with a smile and went the extra mile. I was surprised how they turned this around excellent team work
Fun course. Great greens and great quality course. Challenging with all the ups and downs as well as sand all over the place. Great staff and clubhouse. Worth the stop to play.
The food was absolutely amazing I don't care that it may be considered pricy I'd gladly pay again for that quality of prepared food I had chicken breast I don't like advacado but I didn't know it was on there till I was just about finished with sandwich still I have no complaints
Played November 28th, course was in excellent condition mid season form. Greens held shot and putted excellent. Great Cheese curds too.
Had some tough lies out there, like this one on hole #5.
Went for a Friday night fish fry. Had the cod and shrimp combo. The shrimp was huge and the cod was tasty. We were visited by the manager who was attentive and asked how our meal was.
The entire evening was very pleasant.
Right up there with the Kohler courses. For the money, the best you can do in the Sheboygan area. The 18th hole is about as tough a closer as you will find. The fifth hole, the huge gorge on the left, is all trouble. Absolutely love the course!
One of the most beautiful courses I have played. Challenging but fun. I'm a 10 hcp and played the green tees.
A gorgeous golf course. For someone from Florida, this course had everything we don't have. They really thought of everything to give you a private course feel in a public course. #1, top notch. Check it out when you are in Sheboygan.
With the 50-50 discount club, you can’t play a better course for the money. Well kept and beautiful. Hole #4 is fantastic... 5 and 6 are pretty solid too.
The conference center was beautiful as always but the food was really lacking. No knives to cut our steaks, some were still very rare. Just not up to par on the food.
Very challenging and beautiful course designed by golf's very own, Jack Nicklaus! Ranked in top 100 courses to play in Wisconsin by Golf Digest. Hint: Buy the 50/50 membership for discounted golf!
Scallops were under cooked...the staff told us that was how they are supposed to be. NOPE! Just a side note...there was a hair in the butter on our table. This was in the banquet hall. Very surprising...we have been there many times and this was the firat time we were disappointed.
To many steps for grandparents to be by wedding party. The chicken breast was tough, the pork chop was tough and nothing served with it. Buns hard.i am sure they over paid for the food.
Their themed dinners are excellent. It gives you an opportunity to try numerous wines that might not have been on your radar along with phenomenal food.
Went to a craft fair here. It was ok, but the venue is beautiful.
Nice course, very tough. Have to bring your A game.
Wondering if they will be open this year, Have not heard anything yet!
Look forward to new owners
Great course, but can be extremely difficult. Very well maintained and good practice area. Glad it's back open.
It's always nice to get together with friends. Shaughn is a super bartender! We tried the scallops tonight and both of us enjoyed them.
Very good food. Great service. Another nice fish fry.
Can't wait to go back. Service on the course as well as off was great. Very friendly, family feel. Great value all round. Would highly recommend it.
Very challenging course. Some beautiful holes that require smart placement if you want to save par and chase birdies.
Great Golf Course design but very slow pace of play. Also the cart seats are black and get very hot in the Sun
Had lunch which was delicious-started with salad followed by chicken Alfredo & noodles, then finished with chocolate cake/ice cream graced with raspberry sauce.
One of the toughest golf courses in Wisconsin. If you are looking for a challenge along with great scenery playing from the back tees is recommended
One of the top 5 courses in wi!
Food was good but the service was not. Tables did not get cleaned till later in the evening. Also one of the bartenders would snap her gum while serving and was rude.
I looked at this site for a wedding venue. The food is good, and though I haven't played the course, I've never heard a bad thing about it.
Best public golf in wisconsin. I highly reccomend joining the 50/50 club in the offseason to get half off rounds and 1 free round during the summer!
Very beautiful, well maintained, challenging in a good way.
Perfect shape and a great challenge. I found it very difficult. You have to be on your game or you will struggle as I did. Can't wait to play there again. Revenge
Even though it's not open, still being kept up
I've played this course twice in ten years, but it's fantastic. I'd like to get out here at least once a year now.
This course is great! If you're going to the Kohler courses, don't miss out on this place just down the road!
Course was in great shape. Glad to see it finally re-opened. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
Amazing course. Friendly staff..I will be back!!!
One of my favorite tracks in the state! If you don't belong to the 50/50 club here, you're missing out big time.
Had a nice time at The Bull! Good drink and the scallops are to die for! So delicious!!
We were there for a wedding, Food was good Bartenders Bob , Jason and Ashley were more than professional had a great night
Always an experience to play this course you better bring your A-game or bring lots of balls every hole is a challenge good luck
Very awesome food and the service is outstanding.
The scenery is beautiful and the meal was fabulous!
Very beautiful golf course. Very challenging. Great Nicklaus design.
One of Wisconsin's premiere golf courses! It's really a beautiful and challenging course.
Amazing golf course and great food in the resturant. I would highly recommend this place to anybody.
Nice layout and excellwntly maintained course. A nice addition or alternative to the Kohler courses nearby
Great service and food! Very friendly waitress!
Beautiful and challenging course. New ownership is doing an excellent job!
Beautiful, challenging course. Very well maintained
Mother's day brunch was fantastic! Good service and excellent food. We will be back!
3.5 stars, sometimes the quality has been less than I'd hoped for. Other times it's been a great experience.
Always a great place. Great golf. Great staff. Great food. Just do it!
Really rough course, but absolutely beautiful! Fridays and Sundays are the busiest days here.
Went to a wedding here, beautiful grounds, but they were very hesitant to rent golf carts to drunk patrons past close :(
Awesome course, thanks for honoring our expired gift certificate. We will be back.
Great design , in very good condition. A little pricey at $150 rack rate .
Well maintained. Tough course. Multiple tee boxes to choose from. Very good practice area.
Excellent course! Very challenging, but fair. Greens rolled great.
Very nice just had a wedding there. A few issues but a great day.
Excellent course. GPS in carts very helpful. Will return.
spectacular and very reasonably priced for the quality of the golf course.
Beautiful cut greens and fair ways. Great course
Nice course but not sure it's worth the rate. Clubhouse staff not very friendly.
A Jack Nicklaus designed course nationally rated and the host for many professional tournaments
Great layout, beautiful course, somewhat difficult. Nice elevation changes.
One of the top 3 most challenging public courses in Wisconsin.
Sand trap project complete. Some traps gone. The new traps are awesome
They got rid of comment cards that when returned to bar were good for a $1 beer. ☹️
Beautiful golf coarse. Home of the Green Bay Packer Hall of Fame golf outing.
Course was in great shape, and is very challenging.
Tough golf course, it will challeng you. You will enjoy it.
