Has to be on every golfer's bucket list! Good, entertaining, challenging but fair layout. Fairways and greens were in great condition. Greens are quick and rolled true, need to be read closely, lots of subtle breaks. Staff is friendly and helpful, the woman on the beer cart was fun to talk with and offered good insight on the course. Definitely worth the green fees. Will be back!

We have not only played The Bog and enjoyed the course immensely, but we had our wedding there! They had all the amenities we needed. I can't express enough gratitude for the crew it took to pull off two weddings and a golf outing in one weekend. The staff went above and beyond our expectations and delivered a perfect day! We would highly recommend The Bog for special events and golf- maybe all in the same day! They hit it out of the park!

Very nice venue for a wedding. As a guest, the space is large with a rustic feel and great ambiance. The catered food is delicious and the wait/bar staff very helpful and friendly.

We rotate between golf courses during the summer playing the front 9 the first week and the back 9 the following week. I looked forward to the Bog. I had not played it before, but heard nice things. On our front nine we were behind a group of 6 and we're waiting at every tee for them to finish putting. Course was nice. Play was slow. And then there are the carts. The one on the 1st week had no gps so it randomly stopped and had to be backed up. When I went to get my clubs from the bag dop, the cart died. When on the course, leaving the fairway at a 90 degree, the cart died. While I understand the need to be vigilant about the course, I also realize that people will not come back if the measures of vigilance are too severe. We will not be back.

My daughter had her wedding here and they did a wonderful job. No issues at all. The male bartender was especially friendly. He seemed to be in charge and kept things running well.

Had been here in years past but just went today, usually play others. Course in great condition and played really well. Very challenging yet playable for all skill levels (I’m a 10 handicap). Friendly staff and great experience. Would go back for sure, 10/10

I performed a wedding reception there a couple weeks ago. The space was beautiful! The workers were most helpful. And the bride and groom seemed very pleased with their big day! The only setback was that temperature control kept the place a little warmer than I would prefer. But nonetheless, it is an exceptional venue to host your wedding or event of any kind! You will not be disappointed after working with them!

Wedding review: BEAUTIFUL! We are so happy with our location! We loved the idea of having our wedding at a barn and the fact we found one on a golf course too, just so happy! The venue was so beautiful that we did not have to decorate much! The direct person we worked with was very kind and responsive to all emails. The day of was amazing! They were busy with our wedding and a golf outing but still on top of everything! All staff that helped were extremely professional. No complaints! They also have a private on site ceremony site!

Writing this review while I wait for slow play on the 18th tee. Nice course, seemingly going down hill. As a former assistant Superintendent on an average course, it’s pretty evident whoever is in charge of spraying is doing a lack luster job, and I imagine that same person is in charge of aeration. In any case, course needs water badly and it’s only May in WI, not ideal. Whoever is cutting pins has high/low plugs on lock. Ranger sent us out behind the group that was supposed to be 20 minutes behind us, because he forgot what time it was and which groups had gone out. For a course that’s as historically well run and nice as the Bog, this was a surprise. They will however run out a free “tap beer” ticket to makeup for that extra hour on the course, lol. Don’t let this review stop you from coming and playing here because at its core it’s one of the coolest and creative courses around at a reasonable rate, with generally decent pace of play. This is my 10-15th round here in a few years, and unfortunately things as of lately seem to be going in the wrong direction. Still absolutely worth coming out if not for at least one round.

Dined on a Friday night with 2 other ladies. Food was good as usual but my coconut shrimp was definitely not coconut. Mentioned it to my young waitress who said she wasn't involved in making the food. I thought she would pass it on to the kitchen staff. Asked her later if she had and she said no. I told her the chef should know that so it can be corrected. Both my dining companions agreed there was no coconut after trying it. I'll be back as we always have tasty dinners there.

Toughest golf corse i have ever played. It was in excellent shape and greens were consistent. Bring your A game as this will challenge anyone. We had fun and i will be back here to play again. Just a beautiful golf course.

We were here for a wedding at the Barn, very cute and had a nice atmosphere. The fireplace was a great touch. Place was clean and set up very well. Staff was fairly friendly and did well with the event.

Very nice golf course. Range balls and cart were included in price. On the higher end for green fees but you can find deals or go during non peak hours. The course is well maintained and has a good layout. There are a lot of slopes and elevation changes to make it challenging along with some placement shot holes.

We celebrated our daughter’s wedding at The Bog. It was perfect. I couldn’t have asked for anything better. The staff was excellent. The Venue was beautiful. Our guests could not stop commenting on how wonderful everything was. I highly recommend The Bog. It was a most memorable day. Thank you to everyone there who made this day so special.

This course was recommended and did not disappoint. The fairways, greens, tee boxes are perfect. All approaches could be putted, the fairways are that good. Great practice facility (just like course condition.) Very hospitable staff. Just a great experience. A true gem, if you are in the area... Go play it!

Great Golf Course! I had few tournaments here that I really enjoyed. Course Staff were very friendly and pace of play was fair. Fairways are well kept and greens are challenging. Visually challenging as well as the play it self. If you like to be challenged, then go to The Bog on a windy day. The course offers different play challenge to everyone.

If you are looking for a nice relaxed un-rushed atmosphere with fairly decent food, try the Bog. Dont be in a hurry. Drink prices a little overpriced for the area too.

Nice course, peaceful and scenic. Some of the Tee boxes were a little worn, it was the end of summer so it's to be expected. Nice bar area, burger was good and beer was cold!

Great golf course open to the public. I come here once to twice a year. It's very well kept, the new gathering area made to look like a barn is perfect for corporate events and weddings.

The Bog is great course, had a great time playing there! The green nice and firm and the ball had a true roll to it! Loved putting on those green just when you thought it was gonna die down it always made its way into the cup! Lots of different holes and a few with awesome blind shots. Free warm up range balls too!

Very very nice place. There are some extremely good beer options on tap (Founders, Lakefront, New Glarus, 3 sheeps and more) . I just wish there was a sit down bar. I brought food back for my parents which everything was fabulous. We all enjoyed the fish dinners and I definitely will go back again. Everyone there was very nice and the atmosphere was really cozy. Nicely done on everything.

Great course...great service. I showed up after my partner, but they gave me a ride down to the range. We played before the beverage cart girl arrived, but the ranger asked if he could bring us anything from the bar...you don't see that anywhere else.

Was there recently for a wedding. The setting is beautiful. Food was good. The transition from dinner to reception was handled clumsily. Took way too long for tables and chairs to be moved. I ended up moving chairs myself because they were left in the middle of the room where everyone was congregating and it didn't seem like anybody was taken care of them.

So a beautiful course. It would be an easy 4 or 5 stars, but the state of the greens were truly terrible. Definitely want to play again and will up the rating if they get them in shape.

We were at the Bog for a wedding reception in January. It was beautiful. Huge fireplace and Christmas lights for the hundred guests to feel cozy and warm. The buffet food was good. And the late-night pretzel bar was a big hit. The open bar was a nice touch for pre-dinner socialization.

I've photographed a few weddings at The Bog and I have nothing but amazing things to say about the vendors I worked with! The staff is kind, helpful and provide quality customer service to their guests. The landscape is a dream and the course has beautiful views no matter what season your in! KD is fantastic!!! I highly recommend this venue for weddings!

One of the best courses in the area. Very well maintained, challenging and worth the money. It is a 30 minute drive from Milwaukee which is usually pretty easy when heading north. It is worth the drive to get out of the city, enjoy nature and play golf for a little bit more than a packed county course. The greens are in great condition, much better than Mee-Kwon (see other review) and much more challenging. Last time we were there we ate in the bar before heading out and had a great sandwich and my buddy had a burger, we were both very pleased. I believe they recently redid a fair amount of bunkers on the course as well and still have some in process. Overall I would highly recommend, just be careful on hole number 12 as I somehow end up in the creek every time!

This a fantastic golf course designed with rolling fairways and well maintained greens. I especially like the extended practice area and club house! A great place to have any golf event or family gathering.

Tee boxes all around could use some work and some greens on the front were patchy. Very difficult course but fun the play. I think there is a blind shot on just about every hole. Would play again.

I've been playing the course for a few years. It's under new management and it shows. The staff is friendly and accommodating. The course is being tended to unlike years prior and the layout is incredible. If you haven't played it or have not visited for a while - it's time for a tee time.

Fun golf course and one of the nicest in the Milwaukee area. The staff is accommodating and helpful. I played late in the season (November) and the course was still in mid season shape. The greens do not have a lot of ball marks and roll fast and true, the fairways did not have non-repaired divots everywhere either. They are in the process of repairing/replacing the sand in the bunkers. Complimentary range balls and yardage books in the carts also round out the pros of coming to this course. The only drawback is the price for a round, but you pay for what you get.

This would not let me give them 10 stars. Wedding venue was fantastic. The facilities were top notch, they know how to organize and arrange for the best experience, the staff were professional, helpful, and efficient. We could not have asked for a better party.

They took care of the set up for us and made sure we followed our wedding schedule so we could do everything we wanted to. Working with the The Bog for our reception and catering was one of the best choices we made during our wedding planning, and I highly recommend them for your next event! Thank you KD!

This is a fun course to play, and I have played here many times. I like Arnold Palmer Courses, you can use every club in the bag. This course demands ball placement and strategy more than distance off the tee. Yes, there are a few blind shots, not too many, and if you play it more than once that's not a problem. What keeps it from being a five is that it isn't maintained as well as the Kohler Courses, or any other world class course, but it is one of my local (Wisconsin) favorites.

This was a great course, don’t get me wrong, but the service is absolutely awful. I’ve been to many courses throughout Wisconsin, and by far, this was the only one that didn’t acknowledge a “replay discount.” I took my dad golfing for a 2pm outing and we ended up finishing around 5:00pm. In total, it was 150$ for both of us to play. I asked him if he wouldn’t mind playing 9 more, expecting it to be discounted. When we talked to the teenager at the counter, he told us it was another 40$ per the two of us to play another 9. I’m sorry, but it’s 5pm, and you’re asking for 40$ per the two of us to play 9 holes? It’s a nice course, yes, but not anywhere as nice as Thornberry Creek, a WPGA course for 50$ that acknowledges its customers. We’ve played Thornberry for 36 and it cost the same amount to play 18 at The Bog, FYI. My point here is that my father and I will not be replaying this course if you’d rather upcharge us than thank us for wanting to play again. I won’t be recommending this course to anyone. Best, Jake

It's a great course with a great layout BUT it has gone downhill since the decade of it's opening. It used to be precisely cut, from a beautiful fairway to a defined first cut to the rough, now the first cut is pretty much gone and as stated above, the traps aren't as nice as they once were. I don't know what or who has changed, but it isn't as nice as it once was.

Very beautiful place for a wedding. Kind of cramped for dinner. Too many guests in one room with tables. Pizza later at night was a nice touch. Could use some ashtrays outside.
