Reviews of Alhambra Golf Course
This is such a nice place to come to visit even if you're not here to golf. There's a park, pickleball courts and basketball courts. The usual sort of things that you find at a park there's a little lake with a fountain in the middle. Overall, it's a very nice area. Very crowded though. As far as the golf goes, we had a lot of fun and it's a great place to golf. We need to come back again. Hot dog $7.
Very decent short course Par 71, grounds are well kept. Some holes are challenging enough. Pro shop guys are awesome and there’s really good putting green and chipping area you can practice with no charge. Their multi level driving range is good enough to get some practice in.
This is short and challenging course. The fairways are narrow, and big trees are waiting for you if you miss the fairway. The course is pretty well maintained as a public golf course with a lot of traffic. Putting green, chipping green, and driving range are available for practice.
There are plenty of parking space in the parking lot, and staff was friendly. Price is decent for a public golf course within the 626 area.
Not the best, but definitely not the worst either. There were too many idiots on the course when I visited. People were hitting balls into each other (while me and my 2 friends were playing on a par 3 hole, 2 balls from a different hole landed on our green, some idiot was driving the cart onto the tee box and right next to the green, there was a person who keeps taking 3, 4 mulligans on every tee box.. Some dude tees off and almost hits my friend but does not yell fore..). The fairway has some bald spots..
Such a beautiful course! We visited for the PGA Jr Allstars match and I was so pleasantly surprised by the course’s beauty! The staff was friendly and fast, and they had carts available for spectators. The ponds with the geese were a little noisy, but nothing unnatural! They had blockades up for some of the tees, which I’ve never seen before. The greens were maintained beautifully and the grass everywhere else was green and soft. It looked like a park, I wanted to hang out at every hole! The driving range was multi-tiered which left room for plenty of people to hit balls. The only thing negative I have to say, is on the last hole is the end of the range and there was a ton of range balls that either went over the net or through it and I was terrified of getting hit by a ball. Other than that, it was such a beautiful course and I hope we get a chance to go play for fun some day or be back again for Allstars next year!
Short but tight course. In decent condition considering the drought situation. The practice facilities are very good. I had fun playing here. The greens are bumpy u can see on longer putts the ball will bounce in the air 3 times Killing the speed and stopping the ball from getting to the cup
I didn't get to play at this course because walking on is hard to do here. While waiting I heard a group of 7 get called to the tee. I had never heard of a group that big tee off at any other course. From what I saw the course looked nice and the range looked nice as well. The pro shop had a lot of stuff in it and it was nearly organized.
I play here regularly. I think this Alhambra course is one of the better course. It's a short course, perfect for me with short distance hits. But that's not it. The grass is very decent, pretty green for southern California dry weather. However, the greens are pretty slow at times. It's always enjoyable when playing on nice grass. Oh, by the way, the driving range is a 3 level deck. Alhambra has a tracker system that works with TopTracer. I didn't think the distance was very accurate, but the direction are very accurate. It always good to know where you're hitting the ball. It's free. Download the app, sign up and go.
Prices have went up over time but still a solid deal regardless. The hours are fantastic here going to midnight on most days. Three-level gives plenty of options on where to drive from. I like the newer thicker turf pads they have added while there are still some of the older, thiner astro turf styles. A ton of parking, restrooms near the general course entrance about 150 yards away. Lastly, dinged it 1 star because the putting area is closed.
I rate it a 4 star . Played it Dec 21 2017 . The greens are super fast ( like putting on your concrete driveway ) long waits between holes , sit 15 minutes each hole waiting golfers ahead of you . Some fairways dyed out and hitting off dead grass. 5 1/2 hour play for sure . Food good at club house
What a great time here today with the @latinagolf club. Nice putting area. If you want to work on your game, this is the place to come.
short but fun course, many holes can try 1 on par 4, condition are great, and even have nice beers after golf
Lovely place. I came here to golf. It's first time I played golf and I highly recommend going there. It's free and open to public. No membership required. You need to buy some golf balls to play and that is very cheap like 100 balls in 10$. Really had great time with friends.
A great golf course. Turf grass is well- maintained, it's absolutely amazing. Price is reasonable. Parking is huge. Overall, a great golf course.
Great course. Not the best golf range, but it’s one of the best course you can find in LA county.
Nice guys at the front desk today in the morning, young new asian guy dressed in blue found a head cover I had dropped and knew who lost it. That was very nice.
Fun, short course. On holes like 1 and 9 and several on the back, you'll want to consider using less than driver to be in the best position for you approach shot.
Loved it .too meneny . people but is a park .going to a different park to day have a great day. .🍓🍒🍎🍉🍑🫐🥝🫐🍇🥥🦞🦞🥞🥞🥞 …
Rain day still can
Range Ball
But need new golf ball
Nice 18 holes to play! Great time with the boys. Well kept greens for the most part. I was 5 minutes late and they made me wait 20 lol. It is what it is. Not bad, I'll come back sometime again!
Love the game. Been away far too long. Very enjoyable day all the same.
Gotta love it.
The course is in great shape. 1st time playing here, ( drove from Long Beach) what a great course! Loved the different elevations and challenges. Can't wait for next week to play here again.
Short par 4 and par 5 holes. Greens pretty fast and slanted
Excellent spot and I did about seven holes because I didn’t have enough for a full, but it was an excellent and clean course. Love that it has golf carts because I’m far from a pro and it speeds up the play.
Customer service was great and there is a descent restaurant with food/adult beverages.
It was nice place to golf practice.Good atmosphere!!
Excellent greens, range open late, easy to get tee times! Gotta try it!
The ourse is amazing... but for the first time... the greens didn't look all that great....
Always a good time, enjoy that course.
It’s the second time on a Friday we drove 30 mins and get here at 10:50pm only to find out that the golf ball vending machine is closed. On hours it clearly says til 11:00pm. Maybe change it to 10:45pm or something if that’s what is happening. Looks like all lights are closed at 11:00pm as well, so if you want to play a full bucket, probably good to arrive at least half an hour to an hour.
On other weekend days they usually close vending machine at 11:00pm and let all people finish their bucket before they turn off the lights. I guess it really depends on who’s working that day. :(
Beautiful local spot. Walking path, wildlife, and courts available.
I like the layout. Very challenging. Can recommend
super chill place. the workers are cool. everyone was minding their own business.
Course is in great shape! A little soft, but as a shorter course that's no problem. Fairways are about the best you'll find for a municipal course, as are the tee boxes. Greens are a little on the slow side but are probably better on a sunny day. This course is definitely going into my regular rotation!
Great course, good weekday rates, stylish new golf carts, nicely manicured
Beautiful course. Not too difficult. Great practice areas, cool range, and awesome staff.
Always a pleasure to play golf ⛳ here. Staff always friendly. Course is great shape. No complaints at all. One of the few golf courses that doesn't crowd back to back foursomes. They space out T times very well. The course and staff a very COVID SAFE. "Julius" is very friendly helpful asset to this golf course. He treats everyone with much respect. He treated my wife Olivia and friend Gilda with great respect.
Still one of my all time favorite driving range
Staff always friendly, range has new balls, pace of play always 4 hours or less.
94 degrees with a beautiful wind breeze made Sunday a perfect Day for Golf and what better course could we have picked other than Alhambra Golf Course. Nice tight Tee, like hitting in a batters cage. Fairways- beautiful, sand traps have sand lol... The greens are right and ready, i had a Pleasant time , hope u do 2
Enjoyed the beautiful course. Didn't like how they charged me $15 for my 1 year old. Its the only golf course that has charged me for my baby and ive been taking him to several other golf courses since he was 6 months old and ive never got charged.
Todd was a great help with setting up tee times. Great character and personality. He has great customer service and went above and beyond. Definitely something I’ll keep in mind for the future. Great help isn’t easy to come by, but it is found in Todd. You’d be lucky to visit while he’s there. Thanks Todd!
Nice little course, great for beginners. Super friendly guys
Small 18, well kept, slow pace
Birdies/Almansor Grill- great for family gathering. We were there for my daughter's birthday. Good food, reasonably priced. Great service, very friendly and comfortable atmosphere. Great breakfast and lunch. This wasn't my first nor my last time at Birdies. Definitely recommend that you stop by.
Interesting fairways. Greens rolled smoothly.course was in great condition. Nice elevation changes and doglegs. We enjoyed our round and we'll return. Enjoyed a tasty lunch in the clean and well-appointed restaurant.
Very friendly place, lots of room to play and parking!
Really nice, short (not too easy, not too difficult) course. Very friendly staff. I appreciate the fact that there are rangers keeping watch. We played on Sunday at noon and finished as a foursome in just under 4 hours. There are enough interesting holes to keep you entertained and as someone who's never played here before, shot 1 stroke better than my handicap. The greens had enough subtle breaks that nothing was gimme. The front is flat and the back is slightly hilly. Saw hawks and a coyote which was cool. Would recommend you play it for the fun course it is.
Great place to practice or just to simply have fun. Some people blast music, more commonly at night. So as a professional perspective it would be roudy... But to me it's still a very friendly environment to go with friends. They provide clubs but not driver's. (For one timers)
The food was very good, my party ate both breakfast & lunch. Nobody was disappointed. Burger was good, French dip was yummy, omelet was good to the last bite too. Only negative thing was the biscuits & gravy were to salty. Service was decent too
I went to Almansor Park not the golf course. Beautiful place to visit. I had no idea they have ponds and waterfalls. Love the ducks and birds. Bathrooms are opened to the public.
Love the course, it is an ego building course that is in great condition and one of the few courses in LA you can finish in under 6 hours!
Range:
While not a fan of mats, it gets extra points for being open late, so great all round place.
Interest holes, some are challenging. But be careful of flying golf ball due to tightly packed course
This has always been one of my favorite shorter courses, it has 18 holes...but you will be hard to find any course that the character changes as radically between front 9 and back 9 like this track does. The conditions are always very good, sometimes can be too wet in spots, but no where you should be. The greens are good and run at medium speed. The pro shop and restaurant are above average compared to the course. There are many course which charge twice as much whose facilities don't match up. This place is no Trump national or Tustin Ranch, but it's not supposed to be. Our round on Saturday too 4:15 walking with multiple 4somes in front of us, impressive.
First time at this course, read the reviews and took a chance, i could not have been happier i did, course was in very good shape, layout was awsome, greens were tricky but fun, I had numorous birdie opportunities that ended in great pars, booked as a single and played with a group of 3 good fun players, one time here and has become one of my favorites, can't wait to book another time 👍👍
Tee boxes were moved way up. Most were muddy other ones dead grass was too high. Onecorctwoo good ones..understand they were fixing regular ones but temporarilies were horrible
Decent course. The greens are very fast and can be frustrating. This was my second time playing there and the pace of play was just as slow as the first time. Couple patchy spots on the fairways but the greens were well kept. There was construction going on at the club house so you could hear loud music and distracting construction noise on all surrounding holes...
Not that into the sport of golf that much, so I'm gonna try my best here. Range is always fun whether taking my son out for a bit or with friends, we always have a blast. Reasonably priced for balls and a club. It's somewhere to go and have fun. Much harder than it looks. Swing and miss is the worst jk ever. We bet to see who treats lunch/dinner. hitting targets or furthest ball wins. Takes stress away for sure. Check it out and enjoy.
The course is always in excellent condition, the staff super friendly and knowledgeable. They love jr. golfers and make it extremely affordable for them to play and practice. Course is under 6,000 yd. so you can play the tips and feel like the pros.
For a laid-back, easy day on the greens, Alhambra Golf Course is perfect for seasoned and novice golfers who prefer to leave the challenges and frustrations of championship golf courses behind.
Alhambra is an 18-hole, par 71 course that is shorter and easier than some of the other more advanced courses in the area. Also on site are a golf shop, restaurant, and practice facility
Beautiful course. Not the cheapest but definitely not the most expensive around. Overall a good deal on a great looking course. Really fun.
Pro Shop: Everyone here is really friendly and eager to help. Julius aka Doc is really great. I've yet to run across any one with a bad attitude after coming here for 3 years. They know how to manage the course and will let you start off the back when it's busy up front. Local Alhambra residents can get a resident card for an annual fee and receive discounts. They have a good selection of golf accessories/apparel and a small selection of golf clubs/shoes. I've never had a problem walking on here at any time of day.
Driving Range: They have a 3 tier driving range. Every other practice mat is new. The older mats are roughed up but are still usable. If you ever bought used golf balls. I would say that the balls on the range are 40% AAAAA, 40% AAAA, and 20%AA. I usually use the older marred balls to warm up and the newer balls when I'm compressing the ball well. It's open to midnight during the summer and 11pm during the off season. The driving range draws a younger crowd late night after 930pm. It can be kind of noisy. They split the range at each tier about 1/3 on the far side for smokers and bottom level is smoke free. The far side net is about 225 yards out.
Snack shop: It's a regular snack shop. There's nothing really that pops about it. The food is good. Service is good. In the afternoon, the snack shop bar is cash only.
Course: Man, I don't know if the course superintendent is new, but for the past year or so, he's freaking making it awesome. They are really staying on point roping off ground under repair areas. Fairways, tee boxes, and greens are really nice right now. I think this course is really under rated. It's one of my favorite courses. It's not terribly long. There's not a lot of forced carries. But I usually have a good amount fun here working on my game. Greens roll a bit on the slow side.
Practice areas: They have 2 putting areas and 2 chipping areas, 1 with a bunker.
Golf carts are standard, no GPS.
Nice golf course.greens are in great condition. Great customer service
I've been playing here for about 30 years, it's a fun course and well maintained. The back 9 are more challenging for sure. If you've never played here you might want to get you're head out of the sand and book aTee time!
Have played here a few times and love this place. The greens are always in good condition. Fairways choppy in some areas, overall good. Staffs are very friendly. Practice green is nice with some challenging hole location.
Lovely place for a wedding. The grounds and banquet hall were perfect. The staff was exceptional. The food was pretty good. Lots of choices on the food selections. Over all, very nice.
Nice driving range. Pro shop well stocked and helpful staff.
Great course. But I hit a hole in one on hole #8 and they don't give out hole in one bag Tag or certificate anymore.
This course is always in pretty good shape the staff is friendly other players are polite and have no problem allowing you to play through if they're playing slow one of my favorite public courses in Los Angeles, but be warned if you lose a club there chances are you won't get it back, I left the sand wedge which has my name and telephone number on the 18th hole it has not been turned in and of course no one called it's not a fancy Club so I'm really surprised that someone would just decide to keep it, it's really too bad.
Great place to hang out with friends. Clubs are free for use. You only pay for the balls that you launch down the driving range. At $10 for 100 balls, it's a pretty cheap form of local entertainment.
Nice walking trails, serene setting with duck ponds through out. A pleasant place to unwind and ease your tension from the daily grind. I highly recommend this place.
While this driving range is antiquated and cheap, it does the job just fine. It doesn't try to be like it's much more modern counterpart at the Monterey Park Golf Club. $10 for 100 balls will leave your arm tired before you ever run out of balls to hit. Out of the 3 levels to hit from, I most prefer the top because I don't have to be distracted by balls flying over me. Other things to note: parking is plentiful, for $1 you can rent a rubber tee, clubs are free to use, and there is a putting green.
Loved this fun short course. The staff was so incredibly nice. And with all of the traffic, the course was in fantastic shape.
I will go back
Great course! But $100 for a 12 pack of Modelo? I'll bring my own next time.
The course is great, long and challenging, well maintained.
Friendly staff. Beautiful green courses. Very relax environment. The cafe in that vicinity also has a nice food selection for a great value. They also serve alcohol.
course is decent, usually in ok shape. not hard. service at course is very good.
Fun course to play when you don't want to go too far.
Great staff and great course
Good golf place
The course is kept in excellent shape. The approach shots and greens protect the low scores for, especially in my game.
Great day on the course. Everyone practicing safe distancing and wearing masks. Check in is at the driving range. Be safe and enjoy.
Staff is super friendly. Course is kept well. Golf carts could not be driven to parking to.
Finished in 4:15. Teed off on time. Fun course. Not overly punitive, just playable and enjoyable.
front 9 is much more open, back 9 is much more narrow with O.B. coming into play and more elevation changes. No real need to pull out driver on the back 9 if you dont have to. driving range open late
Cheap and very fun, as always on the driving range.
Great place to blow off some steam.
My son and I visit Almansor Park ...which brought back memories for the both of us ..this park is well kept and its great for families to enjoy which includes a pond ...this place is awesome
Nice course, very well maintained. Greens a little slow. The lady in the Pro Shop not very welcoming. Food is pretty good.
Nice greens good fairways bunkers are dirt but overall a very nice course. Short and narrow, demands some accuracy.
Always great to golf with my son. Course is well taken care of. Greens are unpredictable...
Breakfast burrito is really good! Love this course, open enough not to punish a bad shot. Greens are tough, super fast.
Great golf facility, practice range open late until 11pm.
Wonderful golf course.
Beautiful place and friendly staff. I haven't golfed here but i have spectated. The little diner called birdies is my go to for breakfast and lunch!

Haven't played this course in 20 years, throughly enjoyed it. I will be playing it again soon!
This is such a fun course especially if you like to go low. It's a par 72 at 5700 yards, gotta love it.
Good place to go on walks. Lots of people there and I feel safe.
My company held their annual event. We had finger foods .. Just okay. The driving range was fun.
This is for Almansor park located next to the golf course. The park has several baseball fields and nice playground. We love going to play baseball.
Always well maintained. The course is beautiful!!! The staff is warm, friendly, very welcoming. I love this place!!
Cool place. Lots of lit turtles doing there turtle things. But you can feed them. That's a felony.
My favorite park for family time, my kids love this park. This park hot it all, I love the walking/jogging track in particular.
The course was well maintained and the staff were friendly. Great job.
Love that course. You always feel good after playing a round at Alhambra.🤔 …
Really nice golf course, greens are decent the double level driving range is awesome, And the staff is very polite..👍 …
We had a good time today. Played early enough so it was quick. It's in decent shape for a muni.
Fun, great views, good food and right on the green! Kid friendly and great service.
Good place to hang out. Shout out to the idiots who couldn't handle their beer and got the cops called. Alcohol is no longer allowed
Our normal walk place. Beautiful, clean and lots of geese and squirrels.
Great staff! Fun course with right size undulating challenging greens.

Did not go into the course but did walk outside and if your looking for a place this is a good one it's pretty long walk around,

The course os not that bad

Went to Birdie's Grill for breakfast. Breakfast menu was terrific, lots of choices, lots of options and at a reasonable price.
Great Course......very well maintained
Fairways and Greens
The practice range ran out of golf tees, back order. A lot of young kids go there to hang out now, loud and playing loud music.
chill nice views.
Tasty sweet’s highly recommend it
Beautiful golf course with some tight fairways and great for short game!
Very well maintained municipal course. Not a long course but lots of fun to play.
sometimes the clerk is drunk, but you get what you want. 100 balls for $9, driver club rental available for driver license collateral.
Very well manicured, with good variation in hole lengths and a relatively forgiving layout.
Driving range is open until midnight through October! No excuse for not practicing w hours like that
PGA rated, short course, but the greens are as good as any private golf course.
The course, staff, coaches, putting greens, and there three story driving range are awesome.
Fun course, awes scenery
Great place to spend the afternoon playing miniature golf!

Very convenient place to practice, 12 yuan a large bucket, self-service credit card to buy football. The three floors are arranged, and the lower two floors are not afraid of rain, and occasionally shaded. There are quite a lot of parking spaces, which is very convenient.
Club rental is available and I went alone, so I joined with kind local grandfathers. I had fun hitting it.
The difficulty was moderate, but the waiting time was a little long.
Very good public golf course, the driving range has three floors, and it is very convenient to rent balls. It also provides free practice clubs, and you can play 100 balls for 10$. The inside of the venue is also a great experience. The parking lot is big enough. It is also very convenient to have a meal after playing the game. Their own restaurant is outside.
The greens are good, the cost is not high, and the friends can enjoy a hearty breakfast on Sunday, Wednesday, and Wednesday.
It was a great experience, the field is short but very beautiful, my company was the best...
This is one of the best practice places around the Chinese West District. Complete facilities and services. Worth watching!
environment of grace
Visit it, it's a very beautiful golf course, I love playing and eating at the restaurant. Visit it, you won't regret it. I recommend it.
I like to practice on the driving range without worrying about getting sunburned. You can practice anytime.
