4.5 of 5 stars!
Nice service!
A challenging course!
A fun time had with my randoms.
I felt like a valued guest.
Not over priced!!
Good help to get a cab from the course back to the strip! Thanks!
(Nice rental clubs too and not over priced like at Painted Desert!!)
Wished I could click 4.5 of 5 stars and not just 4 stars, sorry!

For those who might not know, Wildhorse Golf Club in Henderson has a rather extensive history. One of the oldest courses in the Vegas valley, dating back to 1958, Wildhorse has carried many names. Paradise Valley, The Showboat Country Club, Indian Wells, and Royal Kenfield. It was a regular PGA Tour stop hosting the Sahara Invitational and has the legend Jack Nicklaus as an event winner.
Sadly the glory days of Wildhorse are behind them. Once the City of Henderson purchased the property, unfortunately, the budget to maintain the course at a high-end facility was scrapped.
That in no way means you should take a pass. The head greenskeeper, Darden Nicks, is doing wonders with a third of the budget than most of the courses in the valley. We played “The Horse” yesterday, 9/11/2022, and it was the greenest I’ve seen the course in a long time. Surprisingly the bunkers were outstanding as well. From tee to green, the course is in really good shape. The greens right now are the course's only downside.
The course has a fun layout and some demanding holes like the 254-yard par 3 15th and the 595-yard par 5 16th. Small greens, blind doglegs, crafty water hazards, and tight fairways make The Horse a challenge for any golfers!
We hosted Darden Nicks on episode 117 of the podcast. It’s worth a listen.
Our recent 2022 Vegas Rankings episode had Wildhorse coming in at 28 out of 49. That’s episode 181.

Front nine isn't so hard but back nine was. Also I could not give a five star rate because of disc golfers. They are everywhere in the middle of fairway and pretty much loud. Grass condition was so so. Greens are comparably small so you would need an accurate approach shot.

I've always enjoyed Wildhorse. The combination of history and a great layout has always been attractive to me. But operations at Wildhorse have been much improved over the last couple years.
The Pro Shop has a wonderful variety of hats, shirts, shoes, and equipment at reasonable prices.
And the golf course conditions just keep getting better... In the past it wasn't unusual for the fairways to have a number of bare areas and the greens to be bumpy and less than ideal. But there have been major changes in how the crew maintains the course. Now the fairways are very playable and the greens and always smooth and true.
In addition to the above, Wildhorse has a top-notch practice area. It's one of the few courses with a full grass hitting area at the driving range, a full short-game practice area, and a huge practice putting green that plays the same as the greens on the course do.
All this and the rates are as reasonable as any course in the Valley.
Wildhorse is a great course at a great price and the staff is always willing to bend over backwards for the customers.

Played here 9-10 times during our vacation. Rates are very reasonable and a flat 20 if you wanna run another 18 is awesome for someone who likes to play 27-36 when the course isn’t busy. Greens are much slower then I anticipated from a Nevada golf course but they’re consistent so after a round or two you know what to expect. Hole 9 by far my favorite as it requires you to really know your club distances tee to green as there is no way to make par or better on the hole without taking on the giant pond. Clubhouse staff always friendly and accommodating, same with the folks handling the carts. Really nice course, would definitely be my everyday course if I was a resident.

Updated review: The greens have gotten much better. For a desert golf course, the staff does a good job overall in maintaining the grounds. Seeing all of the wildlife is a plus in playing here. The course is very good for the price.

Nice golf course . Played here the first time.
Good layout and friendly staff.

I have played Wildhorse every year for the past 3-4 years and will definitely continue to visit and play in the future. It’s a more than fair value for a round of golf in the Vegas area with a wholesome staff that gives you that hometown feel. The course itself is a fantastic track. Course conditions have gotten better each year, but with that, the greens have never lacked quality playable conditions. The only actual negative are the goose droppings around small areas of the course, but that’s not enough to take away a 5 star rating. In addition, the bar and food is solid. If you’re an avid fan of great golf course layouts, this should be on your radar when visiting.

Had a great time at The Horse the other day. Was so happy they were open EVEN during Over Seed Season.
Most courses close down, but the Horse was welcoming and in good shape for the amount of golf played while overseeding. Greens will be slow for a few weeks but I’ll take slow greens and No Cart Path Only, that’s right people, we drove carts on those fairways. So get out there soon before you can’t get a tee time during prime golf season.
