I've been coming to this place for the past two decades and it has really gone down hill. Rustic gardens used to be my go-to for dates in high school and college. The course is very run down. The grass is over grown, full of weeds, and settled below levels to make some holes unplayable. The PVC cups for the holes are raised, broken, or in terrible shape. Hole number 5 had giant tire ruts in the middle of fairway which makes the hole extremely hard. The tee boxes are extremely difficult to stand on being very unlevel. This course just needs some TLC to bring it back. It wouldn't take much other than someone who knows what they are doing. The office did close early while we were there and they rely on an honor system for after hours. It was a Saturday when I visited. I don't know if they still do night golf which was the best. The less used 9 hole course looked good from a distance. The driving range looked the same, nothing special. I asked the guy behind the counter what happened to the farm animals that used to live around the pond. He said he never knew animals lived on the grounds and that he'd been there for six months. The pond was gross and super green with a ton of over growth. This review really saddens me but on the brighter side, playing putt putt at this course still makes us laugh so hard from time to time. I'd recommend this place at least once if you haven't tried it and keep an open mind.

Great as always. Was a little crowded (18 hole mini golf), but the course was fun. Could use a little refreshing and cleaning up. But we love this place.

Great concept, but the execution could've been better... My partner and I visited this location with another couple that we are friends with. The older gentleman who was working was friendly enough and there were a few other groups of families visiting also. My only complaint is that they give golf clubs to put with, but the grass was three to four inches long in some places, which made it nearly impossible to use them as putters. The cement blocks that the tees are placed in were crumbling and entirely uneven in some places, and several of the holes had lips sticking above the ground; which made putting the ball in the hole extremely difficult. All in all we had a good time, but I'm wondering how of that was because of the company we experienced it with...

Went here for date night and had a blast. Don't think of normal putt putt because this isn't it. This is a more extreme version that gives you a chance to hit the ball a lot harder than normal courses. This is due to the land being the course. I highly recommend this place for a fun time with friends and family.

The mini golf here is unique and really fun. We visited today and the course is in the best shape I've ever seen it. It's really a great escape for the entire family. One word of caution is to call for hours. The hours listed here on Google don't seem to be accurate. Price is $9 per person for 18 holes.

Although Rustic Gardens holds fond memories from high school dates years ago, I was a little shock at the poor maintenance of the property. As stated on an earlier review the cup maintenance was very frustrating, having to make an extra 2-4 shots to get the ball in. I was also told they would take a credit card, and even though I covered myself just in case, upon our arrival the honor system was in place. That’s not cool on several accounts. No change back and fortunately there were enough balls and clubs for us to play with. Only 10 clubs and balls at the honor system. Glad to go, but I think it will awhile before I go back.

Giving 4 stars because we were looking for a place to bring our toddler that wouldn't be crowded so he could just have fun with us. This was perfect....assuming your kid is a good walker, there was loads of freedom and few people on a Friday afternoon. If you are looking for a well manicured mini golf course, this isn't it. For the condition, prices were a bit high, $12/person. Restrooms were also out of order. So for the avid mini golfer, this would be more like a 2 star. But we still had a great time!

I mean it was super nice, me and my father were dumb and came on the hot day so we almost got heat stroke from lack of shade in the long range (if it's a hot day and you do long range, I suggest only one large bucket per person and wear flowy clothes), my only problem was that an employee thought me and my father were dating, they thought I was a lot older (I'm a teen) and that he was younger, then once I corrected they proceeded to ask his age, plus ect while he was at the vending machine getting us both drinks. (vending machine gives really cold cans that stay cool, definitely get one, limited options but still) after they continued be pretty flirty towards him and very talkative to us. once we started hitting the balls outside they remained outside most the time and seemingly watched us until it grew to hot. the employee really was nice and I don't blame them due to him having a kind personality but he did have his wedding ring on and never apologized so I was slightly uncomfortable, I still really loved everything besides that and highly recommend.

Love this course! Great outdoor fun for a group of people. Holes range from 3 -5 par, on a 9 or 18 hole course. Grassy, with some rocks and trees type terrain, sand for the greens. They also have a driving range on the other side of property.

Great place to bring friends. Holes are very close together, so watch yourselves when playing with other groups of people. It's also near the main road, so mind your golf swings or its going to be golf ball to car action.

I miss the animals they used to have! But this place is seriously so fun. It's a nice, natural atmosphere with plenty of space to miss the hole by a long shot if you play anything like me. It's a fun place to play with friends or family, and it would be a super cute place to take a date.

Different take on mini golf but a good challenge. Place is quiet and not over crowed, and staff is friendly. Has some random history with who has previously played there and the age of the course. Would recommend going through it, but take some bug spray.

Took my date here in August, and we had a good time. It was not crowded at all then, and I was very impressed with the quality of the miniature golf holes that they had. It took just under 2 hours to clear them all (with some chit-chat). This would be a great way to spend a sunny afternoon on the cheap, so definitely worth a visit!

Took my 5 and 6 year olds for 9 holes... They Had a Blast! Have been going here since I was a child and feels Awesome being able to share this Gem with the next generation! The sun was setting over the Driving Range as we left, Absolutely Beautiful! Great way to end a day!

I’ve been going here ever since I was a little kid. It’s a must do activity ever spring, summer, and fall! There’s no place on earth I would rather play miniature golf. Real grass, challenging courses, and easy on the pocketbook. Be prepared, it’s cash only. Your group will not be disappointed at Rustic Gardens!

A great little hidden gem I never knew existed. The great part is every putting game is wildly different every time you play because the ball is hit over the hilly, tree filled property. Plenty of scenery and shade for a fun game of putt-putt.

One of Indy's hidden gems! I have loved going to this outdoor miniature golf course/ obstacle course since I was a child. I love to take my children there, or just a clean fun date. They have courses for all ages and a driving range, separately. Always shade some sun, fresh air and neat scenery. Real log cabins, etc. Family owned and operated for more generations that I know of.

Wife and I go here a few times a year to have a good time playing the putt putt. It's a little bit different than your average Mini Putt Putt, but the courses are great! It's relatively cheap and if you have 30 minutes to an hour to hang out it's worth stopping by! Would definitely recommend

Dang, it's a bummer that Gavin had such a rough time. My friends and I personally loved this course. They took me there for my birthday and we had a blast. If you're looking for a standard mini-golf course where you just putt, then this isn't the course for you. If you're looking for something a little different and more fun, then this is it. Now, we're a group of sheltered little white kids, so getting there felt a little sketchy. Certainly neighborhoods we're not used to. However, if you come in from the other direction, it feels perfectly fine. My point: don't worry, it'll be fine. The staff was extremely friendly and it was well priced. I believe it was $6 for 9 holes, $7 for 18, and $11 for 27. I suppose that means you play the course 1.5 times? Don't know, didn't ask. So about the course- it's challenging and awesome! You basically have to treat your putter as a chipping wedge sometimes. And expect lots of obstacles and frustration. But you'll be laughing and having a great time if you can manage the fact that you're there to have fun. If you're super competitive and just want to get angry about everything then I don't know. Maybe go play Halo? Oh, and it's cash only.

Great mini golf course. They have 27 difficult holes there. The course is pretty large, and most holes offer a good challenge. Bring cash they do not accept cards. The family and I had a lot of fun there.

Just down the street from my grandparents house, I used to love to walk down and play miniature golf. I havent been in a few years, but the grounds were beautiful. This place gives the feel of a real golf course, with real grass, trees, and sand traps, just sized down. It is much larger though and a better experience than the concrete pad putt putt places that are more common. I will be taking my kids soon.

The driving range is great! I come here a couple times a week and it's always in good shape. And they take credit cards now! No longer cash only. New owners but the same excellent and courteous staff.

I only went to the Miniature Golf part. Each hole has a tee box with a tee, however you're only using a putter. You cross regular lawn grass to the "green" which actually sand. It is definitely not your typical miniature golf experience, which is what made me enjoy it so much. And the staff was very friendly.

Truly a unique spot in Indianapolis to go mini golfing that is unlike anything else. While you still use a normal putter and golf ball, the holes are through natural grass fairways, around obstacles, and on to gravel "greens". The course is setup as a par 72, which is fun but relatively easy to be. A couple of important things to keep in mind if you go. First, credit cards are not accepted so make sure to bring some cash. Second, I'd recommend bringing some bug spray as the mosquitoes can be active around dusk.

Much better than a putt-putt mini golf. The holes are between 15-40 feet away. U need to put a little power to move the golf ball. Since the fairway have no barriers, u can easily hit the ball out or screw up. Really fun!

Nice hidden gem. The driving range is especially good for those of us who aren't great and need to practice. It's not busy, prices are real cheap. Will be coming back for sure. Didn't play mini golf but it looks cute.

It is what it is a mini golf in a guys back yard. It is fun, challenging, and inexpensive. There are no frills or flashing lights. My wife and I enjoyed our selfs. Would recommend

Very unique course! If you're ever in the Indianapolis area, you need to check this out. It's far from your run of the mill putt-putts. Real grass, real rocks and nice packed sand. Very well maintained and friendly staff!

I have a low tolerance for much of the pomp and attitude of golf courses and country clubs. Therefore, golf has never really been a favorite past-time for me. However, this location is truly an amazing little gem with a wonderful history hidden in SE Indianapolis. The driving range is relaxing, never crowded, and inexpensive. The miniature golf is a natural setting without the poured concrete fabricated feel of more traditional mini-golf locations. It makes the challenges unique for kids and adults alike and offers an array of natural distractions at a very reasonable price. A local gem that deserves local support.

Don't let the look fool you. This is one of the most enjoyable mini golf courses I've been too. You can even feed the goat and ducks for 75 cents. The only advice I would give would be to use the offered bug spray as the mosquitos can be rough.

Fantastic all natural course surrounded by split rail fence. .long natural grass fairways lined with field stones and crushed sand putting greens.this a facility like none other.also features lights for evening enjoyment . break out the old Billy Baroo and come play the gardens! !
