Was looking for a place in town to play 18 with my wife while the kid was at soccer camp, and remembered playing Pleasant Run as a kid...figured give it a try...the reviews looked decent. I was more than impressed. It had that perfect combo of great conditions, cool old school layout, and great minimalist clubhouse. Walked in, and the pro's managed the snack bar as well...had a GREAT egg salad sandwich and was ready to go. LOVE courses where the first tee basically connects to the clubhouse...and the first tee here is perfect....even have the old school PA system announcing "Next on the first tee" to everyone within earshot. 👍 Course conditions were perfect. Tons of rain this week, and drainage appears excellent. No wet spots or pooling. No "90 degree" BS. Fairways could be cut shorter if needed for tournaments, but they were fine as is. The thing that really stuck out to me was the bunker edges. Cut perfectly like Augusta National....rare for a muni course. Even ran into a kid working on a bunker as we played at the top of a blind hill/green. Dangerous position because we can't see him as we're firing iron shots at him up this hill. Kid laughed it off and said "it's my job, love it". 😀 GREAT STAFF...inside and out. Greens were flawless, soft w the rain as expected, but still putted true. They could soupe them up if needed in dry weather. Love the surrounds as well. 1930's Tudors in the adjoining neighborhood and even a graveyard that has to be 1800 vintage lining the right side of the 15 fairway. So old school cool. Overall, 5 star. In fact, might boot Martinsville and Dooks (Ireland) out of my top 2, under 6,000 yard courses. Only thing it really lacked was a blend machine in the bar/grill, and one of those "next up" golf ball rungs on the first tee. 😀 Will be back for sure.

I like the course and the associates working there. Very friendly. Beware though. There are golfers that do not follow the rule of golf. One hole behind me I left a wedge near the green. Went back and the foursome behind me did not disclose that they picked up the club. There was no one else there but them. As soon as I asked one of the players started approaching me, 64 yrs old. They were in their 20's to 30. I did not get it back. Thieves are there as well so you cannot count on honesty of others.

The course is in perfect condition and cost a reasonable $40 with cart on Sunday. The clubhouse was good with an adequate selection of items to snack on and drink. No complaints. They always provide an exceptional golfing experience!

Best staff and best conditioned city course ever. The superintendent does an amazing job. For a 6,000yd course you will have your hands full. A must play every year.

This has to be one of the most hilly golf courses j have eve been to. I played 7 holes and I think only 2 or 3 you could see where you were hitting too. Outside of the hills, the course was pretty nice. The particular day j went the greens were very very fast. It was anicd change from typical greens I've played.

Old city course. Fairways are tightly packed. All greens are sloped and they are pretty fast, so they could be challenging. Overall the course is well kept, nothing fancy, but a quality course for the money.

Nice course smacked in the middle of the ghetto. Irvington is similar. Lots of blind uphill drives and difficult greens.

A hidden gem! From google maps it looks like just your average inner city course but in person has a surprisingly unique and challenging layout. Lots of steep hills and creeks. Located in a gorgeous historical neighborhood and well maintained for being a 100 year old course. Just be careful driving in and out of the course. The entry goes right through the middle of the #8 fairway. Great prices too.

I hadn't been to Pleasant Run this year an was suprised by some of the improvements. The rock staircase off of the 10th green is very nice. The tee boxes on several other holes were improved with rock walls. Great course for us average golfers. A lot of blind shots so you have to be aware and courteous. The greens on many holes are challenging. Fun time!

My family and I have been going to Pleasant Run for years and it never disappoints. This is an absolutely excellent municipal golf course located on the east side of Indy that has been around for decades. For the condition of this course compared to the price, it can't be beat. Great job to the staff and groundskeepers for keeping this course in beautiful conditon 👍

The course is well kept. Greens are always perfect. The staff is very cordial. On this particular day, play was very slow, but the 2 friends i was with helped make it tolerable. Most times I have played there, it was smooth sailing.

Well maintained inner city golf course on Indy's east side. We play here weekly through the summer and never had an issue. The course is short in length compared to many newer courses but still challenging. Green speeds can be very fast. Friendly club house staff as well.

Wonderful course...in very good shape! Yes, greens were a little quick, but in very good condition and provided a good challenge. Took 4 Hrs.15 minutes for a round, pace of play was not that bad for our foursome. I really enjoyed the layout, staff was "Pleasant"(just had to!) I look forward to many more rounds here!

Very challenging course. the greens are small and always very fast. Denny Ford and his crew do a great job. Management is very friendly. They could use a marshall occassionally to help the novice golfers keep pace. Great value for the dollars. Short course from the white tees, but tough to score well.

UN-pleasantly pleased with this place. The layout is great but the management is Horrible. The first time I went there, it started to rain on the 5th hole so we went to the club house. After waiting 40 min to see if the rain would pass, we asked for a rain check. Denny (the pga professional) told me to go play out in the rain! Are you kidding me? So I decided to leave without a rain check and decided not to play there for a year. After persuasion of my friends, i went back a second time. The first thing they do is set off a group of 5 right after a two-some on a Saturday morning. The round took 5 hours to play that day. The other day I went there... which will be my last. The round took 6 hours to play. At the turn there was at least 6 groups backed up waiting. The managers blamed it on the short par 4 on whole 10. I have played hundreds of rounds of golf and it has never taken 6 hours to play. So if you want a course that is poorly managed that will affect your whole parties golf game in a negative way. Go to pleasant run golf course.
