Reviews of Hermann Park Golf Course
Good course right in the middle of Houston. Can't beat the quick drive there. Parking was tricky, but the check-in process was easy.
The starter corrected the group of 4 beginners in front of us playing off the blues and told them to play from the whites or even the reds. However, they went right back to the blue once they got to hole #2. The marshall never checked on us or them the entire 18 holes, so we spent quite a bit of time waiting on these 4 guys who never offered to let us play through.
Food/drink cart was great! Nice cold beers 🍻
This is a beautiful, tree-filled course, as you can see in my photos. There are enough challenges to make this interesting for a strong golfer, and enough short holes (and pretty views) to make it fun for a novice (like me).
I can’t understand the complaints about the carts at this course, because with Houston’s rains, it’s obvious that carts cannot be allowed off the path after it has rained or the course would be destroyed.
We went around 2:30 on a holiday Monday, and it was crowded, but not overly so. I could see how both the unmonitored parking (lot open to anyone) and crowds could be problems on the weekend, so I would recommend patience if that’s when you come. We did lose a couple of balls due to the cart path-only rule (and our own slicing, to be fair), but we gained a few, so it all worked out.
Right now, the clubhouse has no alcohol, but it’s easy to bring a cooler of your own. We did not see an easy way to get ice, but luckily we had our own. Alcohol appears to be allowed since it’s a public park, but we did not overly flaunt it.
Except camping-style bathrooms with a code on the course; there are also bathrooms in the clubhouse. There’s also a relatively useful air hose for shoes.
Very nice course for the money. Really enjoyed my round. Greens in very good shape. It’s nice on the back nine the course is adjacent to people strolling in the park. I’ll be back.
We played here with my Houston Intermediate players Golf Meet-up group on 1-8. While being a shorter course, (not an executive course) it was quite difficult with the water and bunker hazards. The course was in decent shape, and well maintained. Bunker sand was fluffy.
The staff was quite pleasant.
While a bit pricy, their driving range facility was also very nice and well maintained.
Overall had a great experience. I think for 18 holes, clubs, and a cart I paid about $80. Now, I'm definitely an amateur golfer, so I don't keep score. I go to hang out with friends and have fun. All that being said, had a great time for the price. The course looks good. There are some challenging holes. Give it a try, you never know. Worst day of golfing is still a good day.
Good set of links. Shorter and tighter fairways but accessible to all skills. Nice vibe next to the Houston Zoo and Hermann Park.
In the heart of the museum district this is a fun 18 hole course. The layout is flat (it’s Houston after all) but interesting and has some nice challenges. It’s well worth the price.
Dropped by the other day to use the driving range and lowering my rating because of it. You pay for you diving range balls through a vending machine here. People using the one machine that accepts a credit card we’re having some difficulty with the not so clear instructions made even more difficult by the small and hard to read screen on the machine. The attendant was not only unhelpful he was rude and sarcastic. His approach was to say to people “You’re doing it all wrong. Do me a favor and read the instructions.” First, his job, I assume, is to assist people. Second, people are not there to do him a favor, he’s there for them.
Beautiful course. Fellow golfers are kind and patient with one another. Staff is excellent. Costs are outstanding. Rain check for 9 holes, that's how to keep people coming back.
Greatly improved conditions. Gets quite a bit of play bit moves smoothly..great pro shop staff.
One of my favorite places in Htown. I go 3-5 times a week when weather is nice. Free outdoor Theater, a golf course, garden's, train, etc......
Excellent practice range; exceptional customer service
This establishment was clean & staff was friendly. Close proximity to the Hermann Park, jogging/bike track. Parking facility is adequate.
Nice course situated near downtown in beautiful Herman Park. I love it being near the zoo. Friendly staff, nice carts. Wonderful greens and nicely manicured fairways too.
Classic, old school golf course. Great shape. Teed off at 4:30 on a Monday afternoon and almost had the entire 18 holes to myself.
I enjoy playing at this golf course. I didn't give it 5 starts for two reasons, first out of all the times i have played here (which is around 7) I do not see the cart lady more than twice in 18 holes. Most the time I see her once. The other reason is that I don't like how you do not see the club house again until the 18th hole. So if you want to take a break or get a hot dog after 9 holes you can't without losing your spot and driving the cart past a couple holes.
Other than that, as long as you can hit the fairway 80% of the time you should be okay to play here. There isn't really a rough separating one fairway from another, just a line of trees. So expect to see people hitting from your fairway to get back to their hole. There is a lot of water on this course so if you can't hit over water hazards expect to lose balls in the water. Pace of play here really depends on the day. I have been there at times with no group in-front or behind me, and other times when i have had to wait 5-10 min at every hole to tee off.
The fairways and greens are regularly maintained. The course itself is not very long so a lot of people tee off the blue instead of white if they have a strong drive. I do not have a strong drive so i stay at the white. They have a free GPS app range finder too.
Other than that enjoy the course! Grab a cold one and get bogeying.
First off, it is a fun little course and well worth the money with fair prices. I have played there about 6 times so I guess it was time to review. The course and pretty beaten up in many parts but as to be expected with the rates they charge. My main gripe is course management, the last few tee times of the day they could not care less about and WAY over book and they don’t even care because either the coordinator leaves and doesn’t want the hassle. Between 550 and 6:10 pm I saw a group of 8, a group of four, a solo player, 2 sets of 2 and a set of 3 all tee off. Clearly they over book and are just looking for a payday at the end of the day. Other than that I enjoy this course, never going to be on the PGA tour, but it’s enjoyable
Hit up the driving range and the gentlemen running it were incredible. Helpful, friendly and funny! Will be back for sure. Great spot to practice that swing.
Played in the evening and the greens were fast, previously they were being aerated, so this was a welcomed improvement. Staff is always friendly especially the starter and so I always feel welcomed. Food & drink prices are bit elevated and the carts could use an upgrade.
Nice golf course. Little pricey but I am cheap. Can't be afraid to drop a couple golf balls in traffic
Good little course and place to relax in big Houston. Pretty busy but you can general get a T time or drive at the range. Just gotta be patient sometimes. Course plays a bit slow.
As of July 2022, the course is in very good shape; it's in better condition than I've seen here for many years. I play Hermann +/- once a week, along with weekly play at the other Houston city courses. At Hermann, the fairways are now very playable and the greens have recovered from the poa annua (looks like crab grass) problem they had late last year. Very walkable with lots of shade. They have numerous water stations and nearly always have a beverage cart on the course. Yes, the course is tight and you sometimes get balls flying into your fairway from the adjacent holes. Note, there are 7 holes that require a moderate carry over water to your landing area so if you're a mid to high handicapper, consider moving up one tee box and have more fun. The range has new balls with decent golf mats. I enjoy the inner city setting; the course is ringed by walking trails and sometimes you can hear animals in the zoo. The clubhouse cafe has a very good breakfast and a typical lunch menu. Overall, great place to work on your game and spend half a day.
Giving it 3 stars because I cant give 2.5.
The fairways the other day were pretty nice as were about 6 greens. The other 12 were pretty terrible. If they can get the greens in the same level as fairways it will be a good course for the money. Also lots of holes you cant hit driver because water is 230-250 across the fairway.
Great place to take a stroll any time of the day any time of year. There’s friendly ducks, squirrels, rabbits and usually a lot people out and about.
It's nice place to golf practice at ranch, very affordable prices.
Great course, well kept for sure. Greens are tough though. Hole placement is very strange, and pretty difficult. Hole 9 doesn’t come around to the clubhouse, and the bathroom on 13 is inaccessible without a code, which they do not provide.
Enjoyed our twilight round. Good communication, well priced, well maintained for the climate. A lot of water!
The marshals are so rude and although they communicate, it’s not in a nice or polite way. Fairways were in nice shape and the greens were very green for this time of year. Not badly priced but the marshals kill it all.
Good golf course in the middle of Houston. No so great Club House or facilities. Some greens were less than acceptable.
first time on a golf course. 1 bathroom which requires a code. free parking. fairways are walkable. it took us about 4 hours to get through 18 holes. there's a lady on a food cart driving around. $3 for a bottle water. you share it with people out for a walk. it's next to roads. I liked it but I don't know any better. You do want to watch out for stray balls. I guess from the excessive number of handicappers >.<
I never golfed before. That said, I don't know the quality of the course or the club house. But, everyone that worked there, that I came in contact with. Was very polite, cordial and helpful. I would go back just because they were guienuely friendly.
Herman Park Golf Course is a decent track. Greens can be in pretty rough shape at times. Never really have problems with slow play which is nice. Driving range is solid although the chipping area is a not very useful with super tall grass and absurdly shaped green. Good course overall for the price.
Haven't played the course yet have tee times for Wednesday
Pretty good good course in the city. Don’t expect anything comparable to a country club but everything here is very serviceable for playing, taking lessons, practicing at the driving range, or relaxing in the club.
The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The course is basically flay, but green placement and course design keep things interesting. It would be nice, for the players, if they put in some toilet facilities. The biggest let down was the greens. The greens where patchy and riddled with weeds. The greens easily added six strokes to your game. All that said, I had a great time, and will return.
UPDATE: I was at the range today, 1/9, - the range balls were worthless, almost bald and mostly muddy. I didn't even finish hitting them.
Don't waste your time on the range until they get some new range balls.
Certain aspects of this course rate 5 stars for me, others aspects bring the score down. The Pros:
1. For me, a retired senior who walks the course and can play during the week it is a good value $14 green fee. Compared to Memorial which costs me $15 and is a PGA tour level course, this is not a great value, but it is almost impossible to get a tee time at Memorial (because it is probably one of the best values in the country).
2. It is less than two miles from my house, easy and free parking (compared to Memorial where you have to pay to park in their lot).
3. I have found the staff to be helpful and courteous. Unlike Memorial and Wortham where they act like they are doing you a favor to use the course (even though they are owned by the city.)
4. It is an easy walking course, on most holes a short walk from green to next tee.
5. Easy to get on with short notice during the week, especially if you make a tee time reservation, which is easy to do online once you enroll in their online reservation system.
The Not so Great:
1. The course is usually not in the best of shape, probably because it is open 7 days a week (excluding major holidays) so it gets pounded. Also, it attracts a lot of golfers who don't seem to know how to repair pitch marks or divots (the latter problem is exacerbated by the large number of walkers and the absence of on course sand bottle racks.) Greens are VERY slow, and can frequently be bumpy, ragged or have bare spots. When compared to Wortham or Memorial they are disappointing.
2. Practice facility is marginal. The driving part has been improved, with shade covers and fans, and they seem to keep the mats fairly well updated. But the range balls are often allowed to become very worn before they are replaced. Putting green is very small. Chipping practice area is terrible. No practice bunker.
3. It is a pretty course, lots of beautiful trees, but the fairways are close to one another, and there are a lot of high handicappers that play there, so it in not unusual to have balls from adjacent fairways end up in your fairway.
General Comments:
Pace of play on weekdays is usually just over 4 hours, which is fine for me since I walk the course. If you are a rider, you might find it a little slow since there are lots of walkers, as it is a great walking course. Beverage cart service is erratic, doesn't matter to me, I am water guzzler. But if you like the cart person to come by every 5 or 6 holes, you may be disappointed.
On the whole, it does not compare to Memorial or Wortham in almost any respect, including value. But you can get a tee time easily, which is darn near impossible at Memorial, and getting hard to do at Wortham.
I come here often for the driving range. As others have said, the new ball machine and the new mats are nice, but the rude and short comments from the range staff get old. When I first came here about a year ago, I asked a staff member if there was an area I could practice chipping. He point to the no chipping signs around the practice green and said, "read the signs". It was 3 trips later that I realized there's a dedicated chipping area behind that green. If you try to get balls while the machine is empty, expect a snarky comment about patience.
I do like this facility and will continue to come. I've had lessons with Ben that were great, and great experiences in the Pro Shop as well.
Definitely a fun time, even for a beginner. Beautiful course near the medical center.
Had a great experience here! Staff was extremely cordial and the course was in good condition.
Prices go up, and golf has a different vibe than it used to. Once the renovations are complete, Hermann will provide a great value and a chance to earn a low score. The location/ambiance adjacent to med center, zoo and museum district is memorable. Course is maintained excellent condition.
It's short in my standards. I love to play it.
Stellar course that is beautifully maintained amongnst the med center, 3rd ward, and museum district skyline! I love this place.
Fun, open course. Lots of straight shot holes. Very affordable. People exercising all along the course path. Only deduction was for the lack of restrooms! Only one restroom thru 18 holes...Brutal.
It’s about what I expected for a public course. Loved that I could just show up early morning and walk on.
A few greens were in rough shape. My biggest issue is the tee boxes. They are rock hard are in poor condition. The fairways are in good shape though, if you can find them.
Course plays really tight between all the trees. Many places to lose your ball in the water. Driver is only needed on about three or four holes.
Overall I enjoyed it! Much more fun the second time since I knew how the course played. Very challenging on the first attempt.
Played a round of golf at Hermann Park a couple of weeks ago and had a great time. Friendly staff and reasonable prices, beautiful day outside as well. My only complaint was that the greens had recently undergone serious work and were hardly playable. Understandable but frustrating to put on sand.
The course has a decent setup and is well maintained. Don't expect the traps to be immaculate but you shouldn't expect that from a city course. The staff is friendly and the range is good. Other than peak times on weekends, I'd say there's plenty of parking.
Nice course in the museum district. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is I purchased range balls before my match but the range was already full. Just a waste of 6 bucks but still they could communicate to the clubhouse before letting people spend money.
Considering the volume it’s not a bad municipal. Recently moved about 30 seconds from the course so decided to go check it out. Staff at check-in and starter shack were both pleasant and courteous. Breezed through the first 2 holes then it got backed up a bit. Luckily, the twosome in front of us offered to let us join them and they were fantastic to play with. The course itself is quite short, even from the tips. If you’re a better player you won’t find yourself hitting driver much, if at all. The greens aren’t super speedy but pretty decent overall for a muni track. Beverage cart is available and did a good job making her rounds. I didn’t hit range balls but noticed you have to hit off mats when driving by it. Not a big fan of that at all. I’m not originally from TX but this seems to be the norm at many places. Overall, the experience was about as I imagined but I did think the price point was a bit on the high end for this type of course. I’d probably play again in the future just because of the proximity to where I live. However, I’ll definitely be checking out Wildcat and other surrounding area courses first.
Played a few rounds of golf here. Super tight course. You might not even need your driver. No matter what you're into there are plenty of beautiful people walking around the jogging track.
Hermann Park is not going to impress you BUT it scratches an itch. It's location is probably its best asset. The range is mats only. The ball dispenser gets stuck often. (There is a range program that could save you a few dollars if you plan to go often) The course is short and walk-friendly. It's a relaxed golf course to say the least. Very beginner friendly.
Update 2/9/21: New Ball Dispenser added recently. Also mats and balls have been refreshed. Great job 👏🏾👏🏾.
Regardless of what the ProShop says the range closes at 7:15. It closes early. Trust me. Save your gas if you can’t get there before then.
The greens were recently sanded, but otherwise this is a great course for the green fee. Watch out for unpaid walk-on players coming on at Hole #2. The course was well maintained and challenging.
Great place for walking/running❤️
Love playing here. The staff is friendly for the most part. The green on hole 17 is in horrible shape, however the rest of the greens are great. The last two times I played there a homeless person on the course. Made for an interesting round.
Nice setup, could use some fairway care....greens really slow
Great staff. Some of the players are knuckleheads since it's a public course. But the course is in amazing shape considering it *is* public. Unfortunately, Houston is very rainy, so at least 10-20%of the time the course is rained out.
The driving range is top notch and very reasonably priced, open in almost any weather, and all lit which allows the range to stay open until 9 at night, even in the winter when it gets dark around 6pm.
Nice Golf Course.. GREAT attractions Zoo, Museum, And Best Hospitals In Houston Tx.
Can't speak on the full course, as I have yet to play a full 18, but the driving range and staff are superb. None of the snottiness I've ran into at other places because my clubs aren't top of the line and my swing isn't perfect. Decent prices for a bucket to hit, and bring cash so you don't have to walk all the way to the club house to get your range balls.
I like the course because its very challenging and thats why I keep coming back. Some tee box/fairways alittle rough. Bumpy greens but still puttable. Friendly staff. Yes I would be back.
7:04 am tee time; nobody there on a Wednesday. Realized as we started playing most of the greens we bare or spotty. Too bad because the weather was decent for mid Dec. We played quickly for 2 people but as a rule don't forget to ask if they are having a tournament since nobody mentioned it. Hopefully in the coming months the greens will come back nicely. Give it a try. Payed $38 w/cart today.
Wow, what an awesome course right in the heart of downtown. Beautiful course. A couple of the holes are a little tricky. I really, really like this course. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful, great food at the clubhouse and it is affordable. Highly recommend.
They have a lovely walking area. This park like other parts of Hermann always attracts the best out of people, You never not get a chance to meet new people and find nature on every side you turn to. so go outside and always have fun. I give this park a 5/5 and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. as always have a great day and a better tomorrow
Nice course in the middle of metropolitan Houston. Nice layout with challenging holes at about 6000 yds. at the tips. Well kept up place with nice and pleasant staff.
First time here just to visit the driving range. Only option is to hit off of the mats, I prefer to have a grass option. Had a great experience with the staff though. Gentleman in the pro shop was nice. When the auto golf ball dispensing machine malfunctioned on payment I had no trouble flagging down an attendant who remedied the problem.
Pretty short even from the tips which is nice if you're not a bomber. It's very tight and requires shot making ability. Greens are always well kept but a bit slow for my liking.
Finding a parking space is tough, but what do you expect in a location that is right down the road from 4-5 million people. Not a lot of fuss or fancy ESA here. Just get your bucket of balls and go hit ‘em.
Pretty cool course! It was fairly well kept. I liked how the driving range was set up on your way to the 1st tee. I need the warm up!!
Great value. Not the nicest course but for the price you really can't beat it plus a full driving range and putting green.
Love this historic little golf course, about 4 of the greens were bumpy today, but all in all, course in good shape. Plenty of roll for those needing a little extra yardage.
In very good shape and had a sharp-eyed caddie. Good fun round of golf in Houston
Review only on driving range: Overall it does the job, for the most part. Pros: up-keep is good....Cons: their ball machine is old and sucks. It takes only exact change. Some of the practice balls are cracked. Sometimes the machine is stuck and no balls come out. Some of the mats are on uneven concrete which renders them useless. No lights.
Its a nice place to play a quick round of golf but while playing you dont have access to the clubhouse so you better pack your own food and drinks. The hitting mats at the driving range need to be replaced! They have seen better days.
I like to think myself an aficionado of inexpensive golf courses. Hermann Park while not terrible would not be my first choice of places to play.
We went on a Sunday with a 3:00 tee time. The place was about as jam packed as I've ever seen a course. The line of carts at the first tee was pretty long and we didn't end up teeing off until 3:30. Throughout the rest of the day, it felt like we were in a golf sandwich. It was a case of hurry up and wait for a good portion of the afternoon. I'm not terribly good, so I definitely don't like the crowd. You can't really fault them though for a course located in the loop being popular and crowded. Just know before you go.
The holes are pretty tightly laced and its a municipal course so there's a lot of errant golf balls and errant golfers trucking out into abutting fairways. Additionally, playing out here always makes me nervous because they have walking trails that go right alongside the fairways. I'd rather not worry about hitting a wayward shot into a baby in a stroller.
The greens are in pretty pitiful condition. When we played, one of the greens of a Par 3 was so bit up with fungus that they put the hole out in the fairway. On the 18th green I had a long putt opportunity, but unfortunately my lie was obstructed by the rut of what looked like somebody had been doing doughnuts in their cart on the green.
The beers are relatively reasonably priced at $3, but the course uses cart girls and they only have one or two. We saw her twice during our four hour round and I would have enjoyed the opportunity to have a few more drinks.
On the upside, the course scenery is good and it has good use of bunkers and water. The greens while poorly kept, offer varying slopes for a degree of difficulty. Also the whole thing will run you about $40 normal weekend hours, $30 twilight. That's not too shabby.
I think that there are less expensive, better kept, less crowded courses in town. But Hermann Park isn't the worst place to play and if you're nearby then I wouldn't discourage anybody going. As long as you go into it knowing what to expect, its not too bad.
Nice municipal course. Narrow fairways, but not too difficult. Some greens are in rough shape, but they are going through and repairing them.
Course in good shape but it was cart paths only when we played. Made it difficult and slowed pace alot. Call before you go.
Girls golf clinics are the best
Great Municipal Golf Course. A must on a weekend with the friends. Clubhouse has all the essentials, and the staff and groundcrew are hospitable and accommodating
In better shape now that 17 is back to normal. Tee boxes need to be watered as they are hard and the golden tees have no grass. But the course is getting better and better. Too many people though!
Great Saturday option for a round of golf. $49.50 for 18 holes and a cart, fairways were in good shape after all the rain Houston has had, and it was not overly crowded for a 12pm tee time.
This was my first trip here but, it's well kept and everyone was very helpful and courteous. Looking forward to playing there again soon.
Love it there me and my kids takes walks around the park all the time
Course is in very good shape. Fun round and had a winged fan.
Friendly staff and pretty relaxed environment. Course is nice. A lot of shade around.
Wonderful place to play golf - most beautiful and picturesque- lots of lakes. The staff is very courteous and friendly. My most favourite spot in Houston
Packed, but slow play wasn't too bad. Holes 3 and 17 greens are in bad shape. Fairways are dry so if you hit them you will get a lot of roll out.
Great course for being public. Reasonably priced and in good shape. You can't beat the location with the scenery, especially when coupled with the great service except the food bar - slow and always on the phone taking personal calls.
Course was in great shape overall but the green were a little sparse in spots. Slow Play is common, there are no course Marshall's. Be patient.
Herman Park is simply beautiful!
You can walk no matter the time of day for all of the tree shade.
My favorite place to walk.
This course could be so much more. Its location and scenery is fabulous being in the middle of Houston, but course maintenance needs to improve...lots of bare patch along the course and the greens are terrible. Also a pretty short course.
Excellent place to walk with nature , turtles, ducks and bunny
I went for an event at the Club House.
It is a clean multipupose room. With a view of the course. Good parking. High ceilings and a fireplace. Plain enough that it could be configured for any type event. The address is on McGregor Way, but it is easier to access of Almeda.
Actually didn't play golf there, I came fairly close to getting hit by one of the golf balls though...which is sort of like playing there. My son and I did a lot of walking in the park while he was recovering from his bone marrow transplant and the park is beautiful and tranquil... except when you here "four!" 😂 …
Putting greens were overall in good shape. The course is rather open and great for beginners. I felt that the price is reasonable for the convenient location. I'll go again!
Convenient at the heart of the city. Nice jogging, biking, walking areas around to relax. Houston zoo next to the area, historc district ver close inside rhe loopand medical center just next to the golf course. Very sccessiple point with highway connections.
Wonderful course and range. The staff are always very friendly and helpful. Only downside is that sometimes there’s a line at the range and traffic going by can be very loud.
John, who works at the driving range, was the nicest and most hospitable person that I came into contact with at this golf course. Food is very good.
Great golf experience. Friendly, helpful staff, great course. Just need to smooth out the greens more.
I would go back they don't overlook you play in less than 4 hours corset really nice
Bicycling around Hermann Park provides a great view of this well kept golf course and driving range. Excellent!
Great course, layout but their greens need some work.
Just love this place, I try to go there almost twice a week. The range is really good and the staff is very helping. Though the machines and carpet can use some maintenance.
Nice little driving range. Mats are even the better kind that have some give and that you can stick an actual tee into.
The course is in pretty good shape. Slow play to be expected. Most greens rolling at moderate speeds but true and smooth.
Crowded course, but fun little place. Short holes, not much need for driver. Greens are not in good shape at all. Would play again.
Good value on the course. With a good diversity of course types for a municipal option
I am not ready to play golf yet. I am still taking lessons from the pro. The pro there is great. I can see me improving. I am improving.
Cheap, central location and down to earth. Lot as well kept as other courses but still a fun day out. Back 9 is more difficult with lots of water.
A gem of a course. Old time format that is rare - large oaks lining narrow fairways quite a few small greens. Short in length (approx (6k yds from tips) but enough challenge for shot placement. Ok condition overall - solid for a public course.
Great track! Great GM! Couple Greens need some work but they coming around!
Nice golf course. Gravel trail surrounding it runs all through out Hermann Park. Plenty of parking, but tends to get crowded as zoo goers also use the lot.
Nice old course. They were working on a few holes. It will be a 4 star when they finish
Byron and his team are awesome and a huge help!
Really great for a municipal course. Good prices, friendly staff. No frills clubhouse with wine and beer.
Cool place with good views
Plenty of free parking here when all else is full. cute hiking trail thru the middle of course will take you to Zoo & Miller Theater.
Love Herman Park! Ran there for three years when I lived in Texas! Quiet and safe place for running or walking at anytime of the day!
Had a great time playing the course. Greens were beautiful but slow. Course looked awesome. Good work Houston.
The course was cool but it was crowded. We waited to tee off and the fairways crossed up alot.
Great price for a municipal course right in the middle of Houston. Navigates through the zoo and park so its a great visual
There's nothing like playing a round on your childhood course! #foodandetc
The course is in great condition. After all the rain, the course played 90° exceptional drainage.
Great location but it's way overpriced. Would be better if it was on GolfNow. They just increased their driving range price too
Nice, I will be even more happier when they get lights for the range
The greens are not in very good shape. I thought it was a little pricey.
Nice course, good crowd, affordable green fees. Cart was in good condition and everyone was friendly.
As still suffering from last season brutal record drought, today & last few record high 104 depending where at, everything is suffering & so bring pocket knife to tee up firm greens. Watering has had some impact, not enough. Does global warming really exist?
My son was doing the golf clinic with Ben, who is amazing, and I was able to walk a few miles in the meantime.
Great place for an event!. We have a golf tournament and it could not have been better!
I am a long time patron. It is a great place to enjoy a round of golf.
This is a very nice, well kept course set in the middle of the city. Which winds through a park and adjacent to the zoo.
Good public course. Rates are good. Leave the driver in the bag.
This course was packed! Good layout and fun course. Will be back again for sure!
Short court, in the center of the city, with a very high price to play in very bad conditions do not give it a good maintenance, the Marshall is not aware of the amount of players who play in a hole to play on a Sunday in the afternoon Being very long for the same do not regulate the number of players per game.
Solid 4 for public course in Houston.... so much fun!!! Excellent in fun!!!
We'll taken care off
I walk as a senior and enjoy the layout. Great value .
Great place to go inside the loop for not a lot of money. Has a funky layout but all in all a fun one to play.
Great place to go for a long walk. Tree shade is nice in summer
Brought my father-in-law here for a personal golfing class and he was very impressed.
We had a good lunch and they were able to feed and seat 58 people
Excellent!!
Great golf for the money!
Fantastic Driving Range and an Awesome Golf Course, Plus an Excellent Staff.
10 bucks for a large bucket is good, but you have to hit off mats.
Girls had youth golf lessons, fabulous time and great first experience
The greens were not in good shape...putts were bouncing everywhere.
Great golf course to play a good game. Moreso, it's quiet & well-kept by the City of Houston.
Affordable fun for all levels of experience.
1st time to ever play at Hermann golf course. It was great and fun
Extremely convenient, nice without being stuffy. Great driving range!
Good price, but the course is very bunched up and with tons of amateur golfers. So duck and cover
Never friendly in the pro shop . But fun little course in the middle of the city

Greens on golf course need some work done. Some were good, some were below average.

A short but challenging course. Extremely well kept and great price.
Fun but challenging course to play the tournament.
Our Fraternity ( Kappa's ) had our Christmas party there, nice facility....
Well maintained course and driving range. This is excellent for the inner city.
Guys in the pro shop could be a little more accommodating, but over all this is a decent track for the money.
Clean, great people and in the city. A bit better than the crowd elsewhere
Great walk/run trail!
The greens were in bad shape, but viewing angles were good.
Decent golf-course located in the medical center. Greens fee are a bit expensive.

Awesome rain check if you can't finish 18 holes
Good wide beautiful park for everything, jogging, running, walking, Romantic moments or meditation...
Great course for the money and you can't beat the location.
Venerable old course...fun to play, especially when it's not too busy.
once you get past the rude old men its okay....old men in the pro shop are rude as hell...for the amount of traffic this municipal course gets its decent
A very amazing course to be in the center of Houston. Well kept for a public course and nice people.
Nice clubhouse.
Beautiful
You dont feel like youre in the middle of the city! Well manicured and delightful experience!
Another golfer, so take this for what it is, but it looks very pretty considering it's in the middle of the city
All seemed fine... until the staged toilet on the hole! lol

Excellent location, fast greens and good-sand bunkers. Not as short golf course as it could be expected, especially if played from the back tees.
