Reviews of Pali Golf Course
I really enjoyed the course. I'm not a beginner, but definitely an amateur and found the course fairly challenging but not in a bad way. No beer/food options, but they don't seem to frown on bringing your own cooler. The views are spectacular!
Nice course. Can be wet but keeps the area green. This is a long course and a bit challenging. The fairways are wide enough that losing a ball isn’t too often, that said heads up for stray shots. Hey, this is a fun course and well maintained. The desk staff are friendly and very accommodating. I got paired up with a couple of guys and made some new friends. This side of the island can be cooler so that’s a bonus on those hot august days.
Pali Golf Course can be a scenic point: on rainy days, mountains with foggy clouds hanging above look like a fairyland; subtropical trees and plants grow into different beautiful shapes; the vast emerald golf course presents picturesque landscape.
We had an absolute blast. We played 18 holes w/cart and rentals, and price was more reasonable than most private courses green fees alone. This has to be the most scenic golf course I have ever had the oppurtunity to play, and the course was actually quite challenging for a handicap golfer like myself. We faced all possible elements when we played; downpour, wind, and sun. The course does stay firm even in the rain which is nice, and the greens were well kept but a little mushy due to the rain. I would absolutely recommend to anyone wanting to play in Oahu.
Pali golf course can be a beautiful place to play but it also can be raining on everyday you play here. Fairways are California grass that us very thick. Place can get very muddy year round.
Like most public courses run by thr city/county this course could use better maintenence. Also the fairway grass is a vine type grass in many spots and is hard hit off of. The layout is interesting and has elevation change. It has some strangely hard holes for a mini course, for example a 210 yard par 3 across a gully and up a slight elevation. Their are multiple better courses on the island for the price.
Beautiful setting. But greens were awful. Half dead brown crab grass and so slow we all left putts 5' short. And the rental clubs were literally 40years old. Ping eye 2 irons came out in 1982!
Awesome for visiting people to play a round of golf with great views. This course provides medium challenge for experience golfers. You can rent clubs, cart , and anything else needed for someone traveling. The price was around 25 for a set of clubs to use and about 40 for 9 holes and a golf cart. Had a blast and again the views are something you won't get at many other courses.
Not perfectly manicured, but definitely worth playing for the experience and the gorgeous views!
Nice little C & C of Honolulu course with friendly staff and golfers. The views make it a five the course is challenging to walk as well
The most beautiful municipal course on Oahu. Pretty tough but the scenery is well worth it.
Stunning, but you get what you pay for. Greens were decent at least
I like the layout of the course and the views of the Mountains but the greens are too slow. It doesn't look like they cut the greens. If they cut the greens more than I would play here more often.
Beautiful, I didn't go to the golf course but we went in the hiking trail up old pali road to the pali lookout. It was a 3.5 mile hike upwards but alot of it is paved so it isn't so bad.
Absolutely beautiful course! Grass is a little rough, but truly a wonderful course highly recommend!!
They allowed this man to play without a shirt on
Beautiful weather and nice people but don't enjoy the course.
The city needs to invest some money in mowers to cut the greens. They are in horrible condituon.
This course can play longer than stated when the wind is blowing. I love the longer par 3's and the elevation changes from tee to green and fairway to green are a good test on your distance control. The greens could use just a little more care, but still roll decently.
The municipal course sits against the majestic Koolau mountain side overlooking Kaneohe town and the bay.
Sadly, the condition of the greens have deteriorated since they fixed it some years ago. The fairways have always been poor but playable. Perhaps it's the wetter windward conditions that makes it tougher to maintain. Other muni's on the leeward side are in much better condition.
Once my favorite course, I now prefer playing elsewhere on Oahu's many beautiful courses. If they could figure out how to maintain the course, this would be such a great track. Interesting layout with lots of elevation changes.
You'll have to bring your own food and drinks as the city has had trouble keeping the restaurant leased out.
There's also a pro shop that's stuck in 1990’s. Convenient if you forget to bring balls or gloves but no one goes there to buy the latest gear.
A fun place to play a round occasionally in a spectacular setting. You'll just need to be okay with weedy fairways and slow greens.
It's ok. Interesting course design. Roughs & fairways are seeded as one & there isn't a first cut. Surprisingly firm given how much rain it receives. Greens are tall, but in good shape. Bunkers are concrete. Putt rather than wedge out. Stunning Ko'olau views.
Good fun, even if you're terrible at golf. Bring good company.
Fairways non existant, tall grass everywhere. Needs much love and attention but cannot beat $26 rounds
If the state wasn't so cheap, Pali could be a really nice course. But as of now you can't tell the fairways from the rough. Plus the greens suck. Beautiful layout just poor course management.
Beautiful setting. Fair golf course. Slow but fair greens. Muni quality fairways. Nice staff.
A great place to enjoy playing golf. I felt I wasn't welcomed, but I will have to ignore that because of the fun I had there. I should state that I played poorly, I was gazing at the beauty of the location and the mountains surrounding it.
Beautiful golf experience. Cradled by our majestic mountains
loop the entire 18 for serious walk or just jump on for a quick twilight 6 1,2,3 out and 16,17,18. In.....better than driving range and only kamaiana $12
Cheaper than plenty other private courses and a lot nicer too! I’ve golfed a lot at some courses on the east side and the conditions of the course are far worse than Pali. Staff was super helpful in getting me and my son out ID’s and the people on the course were very evenly spread out.
Pro shop was cool, lots of good info from the pro
Nice muni course! Lush greenery throughout with enough changes in elevation. Greens were a little slow but our 4some had a fun day. Sorry, forgot to take photos!!
Very good course. Well maintained with excellent greens. Maybe the best municipal course on Oahu. Tee times during the week are usually available if you call a couple of days ahead. Nice bar for s drink after a round.
Nice course. Exceptional scenery and views. Greens were in very good condition for a public course, just slower than I am used to. Tough uphill part 4's. A better, more challenging course than Ala Wai -- and more accessible. Worth the drive from Honolulu and Waikiki. Only negative is there are no food services on site, just vending machines.
It worked, no one was chasing us down even though we were a 6 some. The course felt long and was in very average condition.
Fun course. No reservations required. Bring extra balls.
This is an underrated muni course that provides stunning views on many holes. However, don't expect pristine fairways or greens and also play only after a few days of dry weather in the area.
Hey! How many courses in Oahu has cool breeze in summer. And wall view.
Had a great round! This course is challenging, but fun too. Gets warm n humid, go early.
It's an ok course, might not have all the amenities you're used to but the scenery is nice and it's not the most beat up course I've ever played on.
Views are amazing! Friendly and affordable!
Beautiful views. The service is ok. No drinks or food provided. If you bring your own clubs, drinks, food and balls, you will have a great time.
This is one of the underutilized municipal courses on Oahu. We had a 950-something tee time on Saturday and I watched a twosome, then a single, followed by another twosome tee off while I was waiting for my playing partners. This was unheard of when I started coming here in 1970. The course is in fair shape; the fairways are now more crabgrass than bermuda and the greens are patchy with multiple grasses so they're really slow. However, for $38, including 1/2 cart, it is a deal when we're playing $65 or more to play on a non-muny course.
Very nice course, and with the new rules that mandate reservations the groups get spread out. The pace was perfect, and i was able to really enjoy the scenery and the challenge.
It's a muni so maintenance of the course isn't exactly resort-ish standards. But what makes this course special is the layout. It is quite challenging with steep hills and longer than average course length.
Great track with spectacular views of the Koolau Mountains. You can also see the beautiful Kaneohe Bay from some holes like the 11th green or 12th tee box. Minus one star because they haven't kept up with maintaining the greens.
Not the most manicured golf courses but one of the muni courses that you normally can get a tee time for.
Beautiful views! Course is in a little bit of Ruff shape. Very hard course for a newer golfer. Lost many balls!
Great muni. Scenic and tuff.
Good conditionwhen we played.
9/4/22.
Challenge, unique, beautiful! Nice and friendly staff. Birds, chickens, and wild pigs make this course very special and pleasant. It's my favorite course on Oahu!
Nice greens...very slow though....on3 of the best scenic n fun course.
Best course for the money great staff and service... Just know that the greens are a bit slow... But still an awesome challenging course.
crowded like all muinicpals. longer than i remember and this is one its worth paying for the cart. you should know from the first hole.
Hard course but really nice. They do have to update a few things though.
The course was in nice condition. The weather was nice and comfortable. The pace of play was great. We had a great time.
My home course. Hilly and challenging. Municipal course so green fees are reasonable if you are registered in the municipal golf system
Pali golf course is one of my favorite city owned public golf course. Price is cheap. The courses are nice and especially view are fantastic.
Great course. Some holes are not the easiest around.
Good challenging golf course, only problem the course is muddy after rain and doesn't really dry out. Play there once a week.
One of the best public courses on Oahu... even though I shot 100+, I enjoyed the day.
Nicely maintained golf course and the golf pro knows his stuff. I think it is a great place to play a round
Fairways are terrible n the greens need a lot of help, I mean a LOT!! Still, it's quite challenging.
Beautiful views and inexpensive golf!
Beautiful views, my favorite municipal course. Very challenging slopes, not ridiculous but challenging.
This course is challenging as the course has many hills and length but is not maintained adequately like private golf courses in the same vicinity.
Fun course to play.
Municipal course on the windward side of the island. Beautiful scenery. Long course. Very challenging. Loved it.
Beautiful course with excellent vistas. Well maintained but very challenging. Great value.
3 for conditions. 5 for price. Rather long and challenging course. Mostly muddy hard fairways. Good to practice
Go to lunch here, it's open to the public. Brady voted off The Koolau's. Food and staff are terrific!
Did not golf but the starter was very helpful and courteous. Will definitely play in the future
course was wet and ground mushy but playable; greens are slow but "green."
My wife loves this course.
Very kind staff, allowed us to rent clubs and return them after they had closed.
Beautiful views while golfing a well kept course
Nice green course, but what do you expect on the Windward side.
Hard course. The greens could use some work, but my friends and I had fun.
Fun course to play if it's not raining too much.
Nice golf course in beautiful setting.. friendly pro staff
The most senic course we have played
Nice day, mostly becuase I didn't lose any balls
Nice 2 go stand by n get out in 10 minutes
Very beautiful courses and fresh breeze as well.
Well above average public course. Just a bit out of the way.
Fantastic staff excellent kept greens beautiful environment
Great service! Beautiful views.
Nice course, just the rain.staff is awesome!!!!!
The greens and fairways were fluffy.
Wide open spaces to bang balls. With a view!
Soaked no carts, can't play
Best view of the Koolau mountains and Kaneohe
But not for a long time but it is nice
Comfortable place & so breathtaking.
Driving Range time. Good fun
I like this course & views 💚 …
Course in great shape for a muni course
Getting better 😃 …
Fun golf course to play!
Great course when dry.
Had golf clubs fixed
beautiful views n service
A challenging course
Best
TUFF COURSE TA PAR !!

Nice course to play on
Beautiful
Raining
Player's up
Great views of the mtns. Course could be in better shape but it's good enough for most people. I suppose for $16.00. I'm pretty happy.
Great course, the rough is short enough to play out. It feels a bit like the golf course is still in covid mode. One little window that conducts all of the business coming in. No concessions or food available. They did have water available on the course which is great.
Gold rocks
It's a public golf course run by Honolulu, and it's in very good condition ^^ It's cheap to go... and carts can go into the fairways...
The golf course in the city is too monotonous... It's in the mountains, so the scenery is perfect! It was a Hawaiian scenery ^^
This is a course where you can enjoy the wonderful scenery of Hawaii.
The Pali golf course I've always wanted to visit.
The scenery is really good. The course is good, but the grass is a little strange, but it's okay to play.
The problem is painted. There are no scratches, but the grass is not mowed or pressed, so it is just like a soft carpet.
So the green speed is really slow.
My child wanted to go to a golf course, so I took him. Golf club rental is also available, but don't expect it.
The golf course is public, operated by the city, so it is very affordable. In particular, after 3 o'clock, I hit the green fee of 33 dollars. (Separate cart) You shouldn't think of a golf course with well-maintained facilities.
However, if you are going to go to a Hawaiian golf course with good cost performance, comfortable and cheap scenery for fun with your family, I highly recommend it!!!
I am a Hawaiian citizen. $22 for public membership. It is 18 holes. Through the tall trees, looking at the far sea. Swing while looking at the superb view of the mountain. Chickens and sparrows are flying here and there on the lawn. Idyllic, superb view, no people. There is also the worry of having to hit and go quickly. There is no bad news even if you just wear shorts and a tee. A place where having fun is the first priority, and someone else's gaze is the second best. The wind blows down the mountain cool even in summer Of course, you have to think well and hit the ball with the wind. It is a heavenly golf course. No pesticide smell. Korea is really bad for the health of golf courses, expensive, and bad manners. It is on an incomparable level. also. Developed countries
affordable price beautiful view
The course is really nice.
The weather was nice and we had a good round.
It's a little disappointing that the grass looks like rough because it's not regular grass. The surrounding scenery is nice. I want to go there again.
It's great when the weather is nice. The grass is a bit long. Sometimes it's hard to find a ball because of the fallen leaves.
This is the best healing course, the Emperor's Golf Course near the city.
Easy to catch tea time
Hawaii state golf course.
