My kids really like the mini golf course here. It's $7 for kids 12 and under.

Was fun, I'd recommend a range finder for anyone who's never played...was tough judging distance due to the numerous rolling hills.

The coarse is in great shape and they have added distance markers on the 150 and 100 yard distances. My GPS doesn't work there so that was appreciated

UPDATE: 7/17/2020 - A majority of the greens are in HORRIBLE shape. Green rot. Some are unplayable like #17. They are working hard on the course like removing trees for improving speed of play. (I think they went a little overboard on some of their tree removal decisions). Fairways and tee boxes are solid and the rough is being maintained very well. Just be warned about the greens at this time. We’ll probably not go back this year unless they get them under control which is too bad because we really like the course when it is in good shape. —————————————————- 2017 review Well taken care of and maintained course. Can accommodate all skill levels. Nice clubhouse with friendly staff.

Very nice public course. Pretty open fairways, with a couple nice doglegs (front 9). Course in good shape too. Good course for beginners for sure but more experienced should enjoy as well.

Fantastic and well groomed course. Mature trees, well placed traps and very nice greens. If you are in the area, stop here to a round.

They have done a fantastic job improving the course and the club house. What a wonderful golf course close to the Des Moines metro. The City of Altoona along with the course Managemnet team has a wonderful vision. This is proof that private public partnerships can work.

Just had a wedding rehearsal dinner at their event center. Amazing people to work with, beautiful facility, absolutely delicious food!! Could not recommend this place more for an event!!

Great course. You can tell they are juat newly reopened. No sandtraps make it good for beginners. Fun course and moderately challenging.

Cold call at 7:45AM on a Saturday, going to fly solo or whoever the course set me up with. They said, "Come on out! We'll get you on." Met 3 brothers, played 36, never had to wait! Clubhouse staff were excellent! Very accommodating! (Grad' party happening too!) The ladies Rocked! Course was a little wet in places (?2.5+"? will do that🤣). We used 90° rule respectfully. I'll be back with friends!

Love this course! Joe and the gang are always so nice and accommodating. One benefit to this place is it's so well kept I rarely lose a ball. Club up over the pond though lol. The greens were ready in April!

I took a tour of the newly remodeled golf clubhouse this afternoon and was thoroughly impressed with the modern upgrade and amenities. Whether you live in Ankeny, Bondurant, Pleasant Hill or Mitchellville, Des Moines golf enthusiasts from all around will LOVE this new golf course in Altoona! Service was acceptable. Beverage cart was around regularly. Fairways were in good shape but the greens were the worst I have ever seen. Some being more bare dirt than actual grass made for a very inconsistent and frustrating putting experience.

Not a bad course. The greens were very patchy and the 7th hole didn't have a green or just a hole in the middle of the fairway. You can tell they're doing quite a bit of updates around the course though.

Great course, lots of fun. The fairways and greens are in great shape. It's one of my favorite places to play in the Des Moines area. The staff is so nice, always a good time!

This is one a very few courses that allow you to bring you own golf cart. What kind of real courses don’t allow golfers to bring there own golf cart, this place should get 10 stars just for that and it’s a fun challenging course that’s always in good shape!!!

We had a 5-some playing in front of us all day so our round was slow, a little over 4 1/2 hours. Greens were bumpy and inconsistent.
