Reviews of West Woods Golf Club
Great course, with a lot of mature trees and shade. Well maintained. Great food at the club house after. Definitely recommend playing a round here.
This is my favorite course I've played in the metro area thus far (out of about 10). Each hole has a unique feel, the kind of course you'll remember each hole and how to play it. Lots of trees for shade but still enough room to go left/right and not be gone. Rolling course, not flat. Greens are in great condition, almost no marks. Many greens were quite large. Greatest looking driving range setup also, fire pit and tons of out door seating above the tees. Outdoor bar and restaurant. Mix of shade and sun.
Andrea made our experience the best. Her service a the bar is always superb. When she pours you a drink, it gets your attention. 😉
The golf shop staff is great also. …
Outstanding staff and restaurant to compliment an above average three course selection that focuses on position play. Choose the Silo course to play a longer track with spectacular views of the foothills and one of the best par 5's in the metro area. Underrated for sure...
I had never played this course and what a pleasant surprise it was to find this gem in the Denver area. It is a well laid out course with fast greens that are not too sloped. I loved the course and would play it again in a heartbeat. They have 27 holes allowing them to rotate the aeration to still give you a great experience. The pictures are from "the silo", and the signature hole.
This 27 hole course was so cool and unique, didn’t play as well as I wanted, of course but I will be back for the elevated tees, killer views and pin angels. Pricing wasn’t to bad but we did notice that they over book tee times after 4:00. We found ourselves waiting for a while each hole during twilight.
Outstanding golf experience. Holes are quite variable in their terrain and bunkering. Good course conditions in terms of turf growth and maintenance. One of the best municipal golf experiences I've had in the Midwest.
Beautiful course if you don’t hit the fairway easy to find your ball in the rough. Lots of long par 4s on sleepy Indian and cottonwood courses.
I grew up in the area and have been in with my family a couple times. We have had amazing experiences every time!! I also worked there seasonally and remember Adam being a great manager. I’ve never had a problem with him and remember him being very helpful with problems in the past. I’m thankful for my experience there and would definitely go back to see the great people (and food) there again.
Best cobb salad with chicken. Cooks really know what they are doing here. Try the street tacos too. yum!
Hard, hard to find a parking place on a nice day! Ate in the restaurant. Lovely surrounding, friendly and efficient service, but my meal was not good. Enchiladas were overcooked and had no taste. I had cheese and they were cooked too long or too high a temperature the cheese had almost evaporated. Another person in party had same experience. Another member had pork and while overcooked, not quite as bad. Why we didn't send them back? I don't know...
Photos from the Silo course at West Woods Golf Club. Great views and fun to play!
We play golf here and eat at the restaurant.
There are 3 great 9-hole courses each very different and challenging.
The restaurant has a limited menu, but filled with good choices.
Wow, had great golfing experience here. Love the course, which is challenging and fun.
We used this location for a Navy retirement. The venues ballroom was spacious and accommodating. Audio, stage, and food was fantastic.
Private location as we know it but if you need this kind of place.
Love this course. One of the nicest Public tracks in CO
Excellent food and excellent service. We will definitely return in the near future.
Course is in excellent condition and the staff is very nice but if you end up behind the ladies groups on a Monday expect a 5 hour round.
Enjoyed a nice round of golf with the boys. Driving range, practice facilities and the the course it self were in great condition. Carts were nice.
We love the golf course restaurant. Very family friendly, reasonable prices, good service, friendly faces. After the renovation the bar area and outside seating area has really improved and we have been very impressed overall. They took a few of our favorite things off the menu but they added some new great ones. The golf course is also a great course and the driving range is family friendly and very reasonably priced public course overall!
Terrific golf course. It's in fantastic condition and plays very well.
I went there for a post funeral reception. The appetizer selection was very good and the staff that I encountered were very cordial.
Probably the greenest course in the area since they have their own watershed. Quality fairways and greens. Target golf.
I can always get on for 9 holes any time of day!
Amazing course and always well maintained!
A lovely local, "neighborhood" course. 3 courses on the Property, for different skill levels. A wonderful restaurant as well.
Very very good. Course is in amazing shape. Green were outstanding. Facility is great. It's a Jem. Get out there to play or get a drink on the patio. Really nice.
Great patio to enjoy sunset over the Rockies with food and drink.
Beautiful views, challenging course, well-maintained.
Great Service! David our server was super nice
27 challenging holes. Usually in great shape.
Great shape, friendly people.Just skip Silo 9 if possible.
This is a good city golf course with 3 distinct 9s. The Cottonwood 9 feels the toughest with its trees lining the fairways. #2 plays long, #3 & 4 play tight, #5 requires distance control, #7 penalizes fades. The Silo 9 is fun with its #5 uphill par 5 & #6 downhill screamer over the canal, but some find ending with an odd dogleg #8 over a canal and on a par 3 #9 deflating. Finding #5 after 4's green can be a bit hard the 1st couple times. Signage is iffy there. The Sleeping Indian 9 overall plays the most normal with a good par 5 finishing hole. None of the 9s play long, so the back tees are doable (maybe except #2 of Cottonwood) if you are average or longer. The clubhouse is undergoing renovations until late 2017, so you'll have to go elsewhere for a 19th hole.
Update: the renovations turned out great. The food is pretty good too.
The best deal is the 50+y old senior rate M-Th. The ponds have bass, too.
Course is amazing. Restraunt staff is on point. Golf course management is a little dry and not great with customer service.
Another course that’ll test your abilities and shot making. With three 9s to offer its guests, West Woods has a ton to offer Colorado golfers. This was our first time, and to be honest, this has to be in the top 5 best values in the state. We’ll be back, often.
Beautifully reconstructed dining and pro shop. Open to the public. The food was plentiful, good, and the service great. Try the fish and chips. Several others hand wonderful sandwiches. Anxious to go back and have dinner.
Looked nice but they dont serve breakfast on week days. Not enough staff I guess.
What an amazing transformation. Beautiful floor to ceiling windows, great colors, textures and cocktails. The only downside was the rice that came with the Mexican fare had way too much lime. Can't wait for the patio to open.
Great golf..course in great shape. I would like West Woods to put the ball washers bsck.
Nice public course. Played there twice and both times the people were friendly and the course was in ok shape.
Great course. Love it every time I play here. Cart girl met up with us 4 times which was great. The course is pretty challenging. If you've never played here you can get in some real trouble, well worth it though.
Beautiful golf course and freshly renovated restaurant, bar, and pro shop. Wonderful new staff and some great hold overs. New speciality cocktails and golf cart selections. New head chef and kitchen staff have put some fresh spins on menu favorites. March 20th grand opening to the public. Come be part of a destination spot in Arvada.
This course is amazing. Its is well kept and managed. I like the narrow fairways and medium greens it is challenging and fun.I play here atleast 4 times a year
Front desk staff were rude which sucks - but the course was nice.
Great course, greens, fareways, all good.
Only visit, course was a swamp, greens were just aerated, not thrilled with paying holiday fees for conditions like these. Still... Couldn't play to save my life so perhaps another day. Little bit of scenery. Service was nice. Recently upgraded club house was decent. I would call this a challenging course.
Great Golf Course. Good Clubhouse with great food
Course is fun to play and each hole has its own unique character. This makes the course challenging and fun. Have played here for many years and the customer service is always welcoming.
I liked this place a lot. It was for a local "garden" type club annual awards brunch, so it involved a crowd. The food was hot, ample, well served and the staff was quite attentive. The room was perfect for our size and purpose. I did hear complaints, though, from others who thought the food was at best average. I'll stick by my personal assessment, though, and I'm no un-opinionated foodie. This is our second year at the club, and I'm all for doing it again there next year.
Nice course that's well kept up. Green fee was a bit high for having a temporary green. But otherwise, I would go back.
Didn't give it five stars yet... Has been under a massive renovation over the last year. So I'm holding judgement until it completely done. If they get things back to where they were prior to the construction it will be an easy five stars.
Very nice place to practice nice range nice pudding green shipping area and 3 .. 9 hole nice tracks.
Very challenging course. Played from the tips today. 2nd time playing it. Played the Silo 9 today and enjoyed it. Will definitely be back during the week before the season ends.
Having a good time watching a hole in one here!!
Great food, know the server's and they take good care of us.
Stunning views. Great golf course that's not crowded on the weekends
Great all-around course with three separate 9-hole layouts. Everything is in excellent condition especially considering its November in Colorado.
Nice large dog park that is clean and not infested with leftover dog poop. We have a Doberman Pinscher and a small Bichone Fris who both love playing and running with other dogs. We frequent this park a lot and have no issues here.
Wonderful golf course. I was able to play 18 of the 27 hole course, the silo and sleeping Indian were both very fun and challenging. The staff was friendly and helpful and the pro shop had some nice equipment and want too overpriced.
Good design and conditions. Nice staff and carts. Good restaurant. Always a great day.
We live on cotton wood and it's an absolute dream to have such a wonderful facility as out back yard. Keep up the great work and thank you!!
Course was in superb condition: tees, fairways and greens excellent. Fun and challenging. Worth a visit.
Remodeled dining room and bar are great! Much bigger and brighter. Menu is basically the same with some nice additions.
1st visit since their remodel, very nice on the new patio. Food & service were excellent!
Great public course with some challenging holes and a really nice bar and grill with an awesome outdoor space for food and drinks with great views of the course and front range mountains
The course is typically in great shape and the facilities are always well maintained. The restaurant/club house offers great food at affordable prices. Although green fees are a bit pricey, they justify the costs by a well manicured course and great aesthetics. They have some great practice facilities as well.
Golf course is in excellent shape.
Mowing crew was very respectable of our playing such fun. Shirley Simons
3 very fun 9 hole courses. Great value for the price. The course is challenging, but you can definitely score. Each 9 presents a different challenge, so there is something for everyone from target golf to the long ball hitters.
Nice city owned course run by the city of Arvada - prices are very reasonable. Nice clubhouse and food selection in the restaurant with plenty of tvs to catch a game.
Never knew that it was there! Went to a birthday party and they were fantastic! Heidi was wonderful took care of everything! Food was great!
Wow, what butiful new restaurant. Gorgeous patio area with a lot of outdoor shaded seating with a great view
This open space is home of the Meadows at Westwoods Golf Course. Also, listed on the Arvada Parks & Rec website, it is the site of the Meadows at Westwoods Playground. However, the playground is actually located southeast of the golf course and open space. There is NO parking for this playground. The closest places to park are permit-only and resident-only parking. My recommendation would be to park in the plaza parking lot at 64th & Pike, and walk to the playground. The playground itself is fairly typical. There are traditional swings and baby swings. There is a four-wheeler on a spring to pretend to ride and bounce on. There are two structures, one for smaller children and one for older children. The ground cover is pebbles, with padding under some swings, the bouncy car, the end of some slides, and the rock climbing wall. The smaller structure has about three ways to climb up, and includes a tunnel and a tic-tac-toe game. There is also one small slide. On the larger structure there are a few ways to climb up, and a couple slides. There is also a small rock climbing wall.
Course not that bad but over priced for a public course
We love the restaurant! The food is yummy, and the atmosphere is laid back.
The staff was very friendly. We enjoyed the food. We will be back!
Fun course in a beautiful setting. Great views.
Excellent condition. Nice layout as well. Some difficult holes and quarky holes make it a great round.
The layout is interesting and challenging, but the course was in terrible shape when I played it (6/21/2013). Most disappointing was the staff in the pro shop that seemed to think that late June was still early in the season. With as much moisture as we received this spring, there was no excuse for all of the burnt off grass.
It could be a good course if it was better cared for.
Fairways, tee boxes and greens are in perfect shape. Great place to golf.
Course in good shape and clubhouse makeover turned out nice.
The new clubhouse is amazing. Good food, great staff, phenomenal views and a top notch public golf facility.
Great, well kept course with a very friendly staff. There are a lot of bunkers, so don't forget your sand wedge!
This is a very nice public golf course. The greens are well maintained and the tee boxes are in good shape.
Course layout is pretty easy to follow because the fairways are well defined.
The course can play tough. The rough is rough and catches a lot of balls. You'll play invert creeks, along the Ralston Creek Trail, over water, and even around old abandoned silos.
Lot of fun. Good challenging course with great views of the foothills.
We had drinks and snacks. He's played here before and love it
Had my best round of the year here today. played the "silo" course. Really enjoyed the course layout. Lots of hills and fun greens to go after. Very much of an attacking 9. Would have rated a bit higher but there is lots of construction going on including the clubhouse which is inside of a temporary building right now because the main Clubhouse is being remodeled. Also I'm used to the really nice electric golf carts and these were outdated gas carts. Not sure about the pricing because I played in a work league so we get a discount. Fun course though will score higher once construction is done.
Greens very nice, interesting pin locations. That's good. Not to difficult for a decent player. Greens fees at 60 weekend are ok, but not quite right for afternoon play. Rental clubs we're mis-matched and short without and 3 or 4. They have nice demo clubs from the OEM, but want 40 bucks a play. Get real.
Nice golf course! Good service !
My company had a breakfast there, it was good food and friendly staff.
A great 27 hole course with some good challenge and variety!
It was gorgeous there, I'm so glad our 40 year class reunion was here. I miss home & these views.
Beautiful inside and outside dining--a great addition to Arvada's dining scene.
Excellent food! Enjoyed!
I Recommend!
My family and I have always had great food even better drinks here. Margaritas are on point and not too pricy and usually heavy on the tequila. Sometimes too many kids running around but drinks cure that :) service is definitely the strong point.. over the years any problems big or small (I'm not a complainer, they just insist on fixing things) have been promptly fixed and will comp drinks or food pretty fairly. Yelp is only for angry people
The course is in great shape!!
Good condition and value for the course, new clubhouse is swank
Great course and it's in great shape
Great meal and view while eating.
Good bar, tableside guacamole and a good beer selection.
The clubhouse is under renovation and closed through 2017, but the course and driving range are open. The temporary pro shop is at the far end of the lot.
Renovation is beautiful. Staff is friendly. Food was good. Drinks made well.
Great food. Way too bright...
Beautiful rainy day, at the range.
Slow as hell waiting on every tee box....haven't seen a marshall.with the price they charge shouldn't be like that
Huge fan of the place and nice golf course to play!!!!
Remodel clubhouse and Restaurant are great and the courses are in fantastic shape.
Couse was in good shape. Food was pretty good.
Live the clubhouse. The course was in good shape and playable for early in the season.
The golf course was as expected. Long course, well taken care of.
27 very nice holes. It can get windy though
