Reviews of Buffalo Run Golf Course
My wife and I were married at Buffalo Run yesterday. We could not have dreamed of a better experience. Rob and his entire team knocked it out of the park. Everyone was extremely nice and took great care of us. The food was incredible, the service was second to none, the venue was well maintained , everything was perfect. On top of it all, the price was surprisingly reasonable. I strongly recommend this venue for any kind of special event!
Not going to win any awards @ this course. Not maintained very well. Lots of areas where the grass is in very poor condition. Go as far to say Every Hole had issues. The course does offer some good challenges. At the same time you can hit what you thought was a great shot and never be able to find your ball. You'll be lucky if you encounter the beverage cart twice in an 18 hole round. I do not recommend his course. | will not be revisiting this course. unless its FREE. TOO $$$
Great course, great views, great staff. My golf game on the other hand not so much. Played here a few times and this round the course was in the best condition yet.
What a great course. Other than some irigation work on hole 16 causing it to play as a par 3 instead of 4, the course is in great shape for this late during a hot summer. Fairways are narrow in some places but pretty easy to hit on most holes. Greens were soft and receptive but suprisingly fast when putting. Will most definitely be back.
Great staff. Busy weekend but they managed to keep things moving. Course is dry but what isn’t this year. Its pretty flat without a lot of trees but lots of bunkers to swear at.
I enjoy playing golf. Having said that, Buffalo Run has let their course go. (Probably due to watering restrictions). Weeds, dead spots ON the greens (?!), dry grass in general, but still a good time.
Fun course. Sometimes public courses like these aren't kept in great shape but the greens were better than average. Pretty inconsistent fairways and rough, a lot of actual dirt. You don't need to water them like crazy, just need some actual grass to hit from.
Around the bunkers weren't cleaned up (I think it was a planned lack of maintenance for a more rough look which was fine). But overall good value, will come again
The pace of play had gotten to be horrendous every day. This is due to the rough being so deep, even if you miss the fairway by one foot, looking for your ball becomes the main focus on each hole for at least one player. Every player has to spend way to much time looking for their balls off of the fairway.
If you do find it, good luck getting it out of the rough. Do they think this is a US Open course with everyday players? I’ve played the multiple time but now it has become a chore to wait on every hole and watch multiple players search and search for their ball on almost every hole. Then proceed to miss the fairway by inches and not find your ball. We have decided to no longer play here until they thin it out.
I love a challenge, but it has become ridiculously painful.
Great staff and they’ve gotten it into great shape but now 5 1/2 hours is the norm for a foursome. Same group played together the previous week and it was a 4:15 round. Marshalls are rare and inconsistent.
Course was in pretty good shape for late March. Clearly taken care of throughout the entire year. Excited to play it later in the year once things have grown in. Staff was excellent! Highly recommend.
Great, wide-open, links style golf course. 4 star rating for great course layout, facilities, price, and very friendly and helpful staff. -1 star for some rough fairway conditions in places and small range facility. I highly recommend playing there 👍 …
Had such an awesome experience here! From the gentleman in the pro shop providing great information on the course to Tony being such a friendly guy to talk to. If you can find anything wrong with the condition of the course you probably are just a bad golf and don’t know how to have a good time. Zero complaints with our day today! You guys are awesome!
We have loved this place for years. Restaurant wise - the staff is always amazing and friendly. The entire menu is delicious and we were amazed at how good the offering was on New Years. This is a wonderful place to support during everything going on with covid. As for the golf, we live on the course and have enjoyed several rounds. We recommend the service, food and golf if you’re in this area.
The course design is good. There are many great holes. The staff were friendly and accomodating. Course maintenance is not so good. The aeration holes made it difficult to play from the rough and the fairways had many bare areas. The greens were in very good shape. It is still a run course to play.
Awesome golf course very trustworthy people that work there I left my wallet in one of the golf carts or on a green a week and a 1/2 ago and they still have it in their safe! very nice of them to hold it there for me as well since I can't get there for another 3 days. And when it comes to the actual course it is very nicely kept and fun to play i only played the front 9 but will come back to play the full course in the future!! Keep up the great work buffalo run and thank you guys again!!
Had the best day at Buffalo Run today! Played 18 with my brother and we were paired up with Garrett and Brian, who were really fun to play with. I had some work to take care of afterwards so I sat on the patio and had a couple of beers while watching others finish #18 which was really cool. The course was in the best shape I've ever seen before and I've played it multiple times. From check-in, to beverage cart service, to the host, to Ali and the other server whom I'm unsure of her name (sorry), thank you!!! I had to tell the course manager how great my experience was because you all seriously made my much needed day off very special. I can't tell you enough how much I appreciate you. Can't wait to come back!
Coming from the south side of Denver, Buffalo Run offers amazing views of Longs Peak and the northern front mountain range. The course was in great shape for the spring season. There’s a lot of new home construction around the course which can be distracting during play. I had a good time with the group I was paired with and would come back again.
I traveled to Denver on business and to meet some friends for Sunday golf. I have never encountered the level of service Jason in the Pro Shop provided! I was very impressed with all the staff! Izzy, the starter was exceptional as well! Unfortunately I picked a day that was extremely windy across the whole metro area. I asked Jason if I could play the back 9 the next morning as I had business meetings all that week and that would be my one shot to use my raincheck. He had to coordinate with the Grounds Crew and juggled his schedule to accommodate my request. Deb was on the mower the next morning trying to finish the back 9 before encountering the rest of the regularly scheduled golfers. Deb was so gracious and even helped locate one of my errant shots. I know I must have been an inconvenience but I could not tell by their manner. Everyone greeted me with a smile and wave. They provided me with unmatched service! Oh, by the way - the area was experiencing drought conditions late in the season but yet Buffalo Run managed to keep the greens in excellent condition and the fairways in decent condition. I loved this course!!
Ths was an awesome links style course with a very friendly and hospitable staff. The course was dry however Colorado is going through a drought so I would be a fool to hold that against the grounds team. Nevertheless, the course played awesome and the greens rolled true. I will definitely be back for more rounds.
The rating is for the restaurant because I don't typically golf but I live in the area and it was one of the first restaurants in this region. It's always a very nice and warm feel when you go in there. The wait staff has traditionally been accommodating and we appreciate that. What keeps it from getting a five-star is the bathrooms look a little rough consistently and even a little modernization and that's not necessarily the restaurants fault. Also with the restaurant I would suggest their fish and chips recipe be changed the battery is so thick and the fish is so small it looks like a wool sock on a toothpick. We stopped eating on the Friday nights there because of that and it's typically pretty greasy. On the other hand there salads are over the moon and their buffalo burgers are excellent historically and we get them medium because you don't want to overcook Buffalo due to its lean nature. And yes we have been eating there for around fifteen years now. So go hit around the balls in the morning, come in for lunch and if you're looking for a great date night that's kind of quiet consider during the week. I don't think you'll be unimpressed necessarily and we're very thankful that they've been there from day one. Thank you all.
Great food and excellent service. Very nice environment.
The course is in fair condition considering that we have had minimal moisture. Weekdays are a good time.to go, as there are plenty of open tee times. The course is also spread out enough to where players are not bunched up on any one hole and there are some tough holes where a novice might lose a ball or two. There are few trees, which is nice but that leaves few places for shade on a hot day. The home construction on the course is a takes away from the golf experience but that will decrease in time. Hopefully those fairways perk up with some more moisture.
This review is for the restaurant. I don’t golf but I eat here often and I think it’s one of the better restaurants in the area. Beautiful building with great views, always friendly and quick service, and excellent food. They have a reduced menu during Covid but still everything on the menu is worth getting. Buffalo Run is my go-to for breakfast out but lunch and dinner are great too! I highly recommend this restaurant.
I've played this course multiple times per season over 3 seasons now and always in a group of 4. The course itself is fun. The pro shop is good in both offerings and awesome staff. Lastly, the food side is really nice and makes *the 19th hole* always a pleasure for my groups.
Great public course. Challenging but manageable. Playing variety from hole to hole. Excellent condition on fairways and greens. Above average practice facilities. Friendly staff. Excellent restaurant with patio. One caveat: afternoon play can be windy. For a public course, this is one of the better ones in the Denver metro area, and when you factor in the decent price for greens fees, it may be the best. (I'm a 12.7 handicap.)
Was a nice course. Went to play a quick round here before dropping someone off at the airport. The only problem and why I subtracted one star was we were told we should be able to play through quickly, but we ran into a high school team practicing there, so had to skip several holes to get past them and still finish. I feel like it would have been nice to know this as if we had started on the back 9 we probably wouldn't have had to skip any holes.
Good design, well maintained. nice driving range, putting green and chipping area, nice people and service, nice restaurant where you can sit outside amost on the course.........overall a wonderful experience.
This is a fun public course. A plus is that the houses are a good distance away, so you don't feel like you're in a fish bowl. The course is fairly challenging, especially from the black tees. Stay left on the 1st hole or risk your ball being camouflaged by range balls on the right.
The staff is super friendly. There is a very long par 3 (#13) from the black tees, 260! #16 has a grand panorama of the Front Range. The 18th hole is very pretty, too.
Great staff and challening course. Hole 18 gets really narrow near the green so you have to be playing good or you are in a bunker or water. I willl be back for a beat my record.
Definitely upscale and the food top notch. We enjoyed the warm weekend and lots of laughs with friends. Picturesque setting with snow capped mountain views. Little traffic and respectful surrounding neighborhoods make it hard to believe that you're near Denver. White linens, huge windows and exceptional servers. Two thumbs up 👍👍 …
Good course and fair pricing. Loss of stars due to pairing you up to groups of 4. Trying to social distance, but cannot do to this because of this policy-unless you are a group of 4. And it can be awkward if paired with people of substantial skill differences.
To start, the only reason this golf course didn't get 4 stars is because of the lack of trees - no shade. It really is a fun golf course. The service is very good. I saw the cart lady at least 4 times while playing 18 holes, which I think is good.
Loved it, we had an amazing lunch before our tee time, our waitress Anna was extremely courteous and actually understands what customer service is. The guys in the pro shop were also very nice. This was our first time to this course but won't be the last for sure. Also I believe it was hole 16 that sucked! by that I mean it was very technical and I can't wait to try it again...
Visited for a corporate dinner. Staff were friendly and we were seated outside. Great views of the fairways and greens in sight, as well as some great conversation from the staff, made for some great icebreakers. Food was tasty and filling, without making me look a mess!
Course is pretty dry for this time of year. Fairways were in need of some love on more than a couple of holes. Greens were in good shape. Staff was nice in the clubhouse and restaurant.
Great staff. Course was in pretty good shape for being so dry this Spring.
Fun track, I like the layout and the staff but the course needs a little work.
The course and service was great but the people in front of us were slow. We observed people not repairing divots other fairways, not fixing ball marks on greens, and not raking sand traps.
Went for lunch. Had a salad. The salad was pretty tasty. I mean it was just a salad and that's the thing it's easy to mess one up but mine was good. Everyone else's food that was at my table all looked good.
A fun, decent course to play. It was in pretty bad shape in the early season of 2021. However, about a week ago it was in much better shape!
One of the top courses in Colorado. Long, tough, beautiful. Cart girl hit us up 8 times. That was awesome but they do not accept cards so bring cash if you want drinks while purchasing from the cart girls
This is a very nice public golf course in Adams County Commerce City has a nice restaurant. It is a links-style golf course. I've enjoyed playing here many times over the years.
Buffalo Run has some of the best conditions of any course I've played in Colorado this year, not to mention how beautiful it is. It's just so dry so every course is having a hard time keeping up but BR's Superintendent is absolutely killing it out there. Keep up the great job, guys. Friendly staff and $9 a hole after 6pm (but they'll let you go off as early as 540 for that rate). Quickly becoming my favorite place to play.
When our home course is closed for tournaments we frequently head to Buffalo Run about 12 miles away. Course is very good & restaurant always good food & service.
Eat at the restaruant a couple of times a month. Good service and excellent food. Sunday family brunch is great. I like the Rueben sandwich for dinner or lunch.
For just driving by the place, and a alert comes on my phone and asked me how was my visit at the buffalo golf run. Well hmmmmmmm it was great. I mean that because I imagined myself golfing and the conclusion is that since I was pretending to golf, I realized I couldn't see my BALLS because of all the snow.
great golf course, good prices
Great staff, challenging course. With the high grass just off all fairways things can get difficult if you miss the fairways.
This is a great place to go for casual dining with good prices and oh-so-awesome food - truly and outstanding kitchen. The atmosphere is welcoming and the staff is excellent. Just an upbeat place to meet up with friends and family.
I signed up for the Women's Clinic at Buffalo Run this last week and I was VERY pleased with the lessons I received. Though it was a class of 8, Will Panella made sure everyone had the attention needed and was there to answer all of our questions. He has improved my swing and I know what I need to do to keep my swing consistent. He was an amazing teacher, funny and never made you feel you inadequate at the game. He was there every step of the way for EVERY woman in the class and was just an amazing teacher! Thanks Will! As we all said, "You've changed my swing forever!" I will now feel comfortable golfing with my fiancé and know I'll be able to keep up! See you next clinic!! :D
Fairways were soft greens were top dress but they were smooth it is fun little windy pretty reasonable for winter golf
Nice course. I will continue to play this course. It has some nice challenging greens. The cost for 18 holes is very responsible. Can’t go wrong with this course.
A BIG thanks to the PGA professional staff and volunteers of the Buffalo Run Golf Course for putting on the Salute to Military Service – PGA HOPE clinic. Paul, Jordan, and John represent the very best of PGA professionals at Buffalo Run and we are lucky to have them in Commerce City, CO. Also, thanks to the city of Commerce City for sponsoring this clinic for the veterans. It’s truly appreciated and doesn’t go unnoticed. The difference between last year and this year’s clinic was day and night. I didn’t think it could get any better than last year, yet it did. I look forward to future events and hope other veterans that are reading this will check back next year to sign up for this clinic. Well worth the time and travel. Thanks again Paul, Jordan, and John ... you guys ROCK!
Nice course. It was in tip top shape! My only complaint is about my score, which is my fault. Fantastic round of golf!
A fantastic, challenging, yet FUN course!!! One of, if not the BEST back 9s in Denver, get it and play this course!!!
We stopped for lunch with friends and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The staff were friendly and polite. The food was reasonably priced and tasted good. They serve a good hamburger.
Beautiful course. It has long holes of 400+ and the clubhouse has great food. Definitely recommend. Fair prices also.
Great course. Beautiful greens and great practice facility. The staff in both the pro shop and restaurant were friendly and very accommodating.
Fun course, with plenty of challenges. Walkable with some extended distances when crossing roads. The restaurant and bar are excellent for an after round meal.
Garrett is a wonderful instructor and gave our son a great lesson today! Very friendly staff and beautiful course.
Awesome golf course, friendly staff, nice restaurant on course, reasonable prices. Play only if you can really hit straight though, good luck finding your ball if it goes astray.
I only go to eat brunch. Same menu is boring.
Great course! Battling the summer heat on some holes that you can't have a cart on the Fairway but other than that- awesome.
Greens in great shape, fairways and rough spotty, some areas completely dead and rock hard. Pace of play not too bad. Cheap green fees though.
Pebbles in the fairways. But the staff was amazing and got us out to play with no tee time. Food was good.
Walmart. Car
Fun and challenging but bring lots of ball if you don't always hit the ball straight
Make sure to call to ask about the condition of the course. As of April 2011 the course is in awful shape. 5 years prior -- great shape.
A well maintained golf course, with challenging holes, and great views of the mountains. Will definately be playing this course again in the future.
Awesome Mothers day dinner!! Food was excellent! Staff was excellent! We love going to Buffalo Run Restaurant!!!
Nice club house and resturant. Fun course but not for the beginners. Bring a bunch of balls if you don't hit it straight.
I've played 2 good rounds here. Conditions were good for early april. Fun course to play with no city noise.
We did Sunday brunch and it is amazing! The kids eat free and we have the most amazing waffles.
Great place to golf, really nice staff as well. Their brunch is amazing!
Great Course for the price, definitely prefer the back 9 to the front 9 though.
The staff here we're extremely friendly, the golf course was in good shape, and they have reasonable prices.
Average course with lots of bunkers and a few ponds to make it challenging. Front nine has lots of houses while the back nine is wide open.
Extremely challenging course add wind and forget it you will truly be tested.
Even with all thay an extremely nice course
Hadn't played it for a long time .Still a nice track,if like long par 4 nd fairly short rough.
We had a great meal and drinks with our friends. We do this a few times during the year and it always is a lot of fun.
Good place to play. Nice and friendly staff. Happy 25th!
Course conditions are really bad on some of the holes.
Last I checked the fairway isn't supposed to be dirt...
Great course and great management/people
The course was very nice but a lot of work going on right now around course.
What a lovely course. Worth the drive from downtown. Beautiful views, great staff.
A nicely layed out course very open. The rough is treacherous and the greens are fast be ready !
Considering this is a city owned course, it's a very nice course. Quite longer than you might expect, but a nice course overall.
Great course. Golfed front nine. Was a little slow. Tee times booked too close
Friendly staff, clean carts, tricky greens all made for an awesome experience.
Pricey, but beautiful course. Course pro, Will, was exceptionally helpful in setting up a tournament for work.
Love the course. No trees means it is perfect in the fall to avoid losing your ball in the leaves.
Fees are pretty reasonable. But the wind is hit or miss! Course is in good shape!
Thank you Buffalo run and commerce city for all the instructions and help that you gave to the military guys & gals !Great job Great course !
Nice little golf course to enjoy your morning afternoon
Course is in good shape, definetly worth the $60 which included a cart
Nice course. Nice clubhouse. The fairways are a little rough but a nice public course.
If I tell you about the smoky flavored ,Tender prime rib O.M.G.how wonderful it was will you promise to leave me some?
Fun course needs better care to many dry area's on fairways.
Best restaurant in Reunion area. Best course too
Delicious restaurant. Awesome Breakfast burrito and fresh beer too.
