Reviews of Griggs Reservoir Park Disc Golf Course
D. Adam Nicholson
Took my son for his first disc golf game. It seems like a good course, but wouldn't recommend it for beginners. The holes are pretty far, but more importantly you're usually at risk of throwing into the woods or the river. We'll come back when we've had more practice.
Tod Bowen
Another good Central Ohio disc golf course. The holes are long and fairly wide open. The park is much more meadow than woods and follows along the Scioto River.
Maria Saborio
Lovely
Have to be careful while disk golfing
We found a baby doe and didn’t want to disturb it
Keke and Hunter Goodwin
Great course for beginners (like me!). It seems like a pretty easy course, just don’t loose a disc in the Scioto! The bank is pretty small, so if you’re a beginner, play it safe.
Frank Palmer
I'm new to disc golf and had fun here. Not every tee is clearly marked and baskets are a bit old and difficult to see. Still, had some challenges for me and although a bit damp the course was in overall good shape.
Andres Weber
Not a bad course, nice links course with a simple circular layout that borders the road and river. A little too generous on the par 4s and repetitive with short low 200s par 3s but some fun forehand dominant throws in there and hole 18 really let's you open your arm up but is a bit over generous with a par 5
James Doyle
This is a great disc golf location for beginners such as myself. Pretty easy to get to and figure out, and the course isn't too hard without being boring. Not much shade, so wear sunscreen!
tom hier
This is an off label review for this place. I really like to walk my dogs here but its much too busy between frisbee golf and other park patrons. We like to come after the sun goes down. The grass is mowed and theyre have done a large amount of bush hogging on the slope so theres not a lot lf surprises. We havent been here a lot recently but all the riverside parks along this stretch are pretty good. My guys are off leash and love it. Oh and not a bunch of trash either which is great.
Brody
Always a good time throwing discs out there! Not a difficult course so it's great for new players. Some long distance throws around 400ft, but mostly straight shots. Higher chance of losing a disc to the river after it rains, it rises a lot!
Jon Doe
Super open course. Mostly 300 foot average. Can be played as all par 3 for experienced players. Be careful though as some lines cross other fairways so be mindful of your surroundings.
Luke Augur
Solid course that's short and great for learning disc golf. There are a couple challenging holes, but overall this is a friendly open course. Everyone around the course is always friendly and don't be afraid to go by yourself, meet some new people, and having fun throwing some discs.

03/22/2022 Edit
Most, if not all holes should be par 3s. Very utilized park by both
Full 18 with rotating pins for baskets- par 3s,4s, and the final hole is 5. The city has made changes the landscape in the 18 years I've been playing the course; and i appreciate that.
Kunle Lawson
The par 64 layoff is not applicable to this course. It plays as a par 55 at best. Lots of open driving space for beginners, but likely not challenging for anyone with decently experience.
Ryan Kodramaz
Cool disc golf course next to the river. The park is mainly just the disc golf course with a walking or biking path through it. Bikers/walkers beware that there are occasionally misthrown discs that may come close. There's only one course that comes close to the river so if you are a beginner, either be careful or just skip that one. Split between 3/4 par with one 5 par at the end. Mostly open fields with some trees along the sides and some nets are tucked into the woods
Jeremy Chen
Course was fun, but the order of holes is a little confusing and baskets are not in the nicest condition, however it is a great local course that offers a little challenge
Jeremy W
Got an entire round in just about 1.5 hours. The course is fun to play but the baskets could be marked better. However, the price is right!
Austin Ford
Solid overall course. There is a good mix of short holes and some bombable ones. Several par 3s should be 4 and several 4s should be 3. An update would be nice, along with distance to the different pins. Can be confusing where the next tee pad / basket can be if you haven't been before so directions at the pin to the next hole would be super. Use uDisc app until you're familiar with it.
Derick Dancer
It was a neat short course. Most of the baskets we're straight ahead but it was a fun beginner course that was just right for my skill level.
Randy Bates
Recently got the baskets back in the ground and mowed. Looks like a hay field at the moment, but it will get better. Not the best course, but not the worst. The Scioto smells horrible in spots quite often down there. You can tell the club does the best with what they have. More trees removed since I was there last, which is a bummer
Wesley Schulze
Great park. Well kept. The disc golf is mostly open and straight ahead so not too challenging but it has some nice holes. Cement pads and most tees are marked. Park is along the river and lined with mature trees.
Rick Lovsey
Nice short course for beginners and intermediate and pros
Erik k
Griggs is a well established course. It plays fast and casual. Usually there is no issue with skipping around to play open baskets when it is busy. This is a good go to for launching off a couple new discs or to play a fun casual round. Enough obstacles to challenge yourself if you want to.
Trish Halterman
Had a great time. Course wasnt too challenging for newbies but long enough to challenge newbies.
Footing was easy- no real treacherous walking
Mark Merchant
The disc course is "young" with little tree cover -- but is coming along nicely and is quite playable. During the summer, stick to the morning or evening hours, as he lack of cover can be brutal in the afternoon sun. Conversely, heavy rain can flood the fairways nearest the river, eg. 17 & 18.
Diana Price
Great disc golf course that isn’t too challenging; however, BE CAREFUL WITH YOUR CAR. My friend had his car window smashed in broad daylight and a purse was stolen. No one said anything or seemed to notice, so the burglar was sneaky. Do not leave anything in sight and keep your car alarm on.
Charles Dickens
Pretty big course that changes regularly. Disc Golfers are friendly and generally sober. Wednesday's are really busy thanks to informal tournaments. Only con is that the course has a lot of wide open holes.
Mike M
The course is pretty easy with almost being entirely open with a few scattered trees. Very few holes where your disc can get lost. It does have a map at the beginning but each tee has no map and it can be hard to find the pin at times.
Christopher jiang
Love this course! great open shots and a few really tricky ones! Pars are super forgiving but still keep it somewhay challenging!
Douglas Giere
Great course for skilled and beginner players. You have areas to rip discs and areas to practice or hone in on your skills.
DiscgolfDad
Classic disc golf experience. Old course with old baskets. Keep an eye out for folks walking on the course.
Doug Holland
Great course with nice views. A few difficult holes so I recommend having some experience before playing here. But overall super fun spot
Aaron Mauro
Love this course. Wide open, beautiful, 250-500 ft holes, only a few spots where you can miss a throw and hit the river
Justin Boldman
If your not there for disc golf it's a decent time. But if disc golf is your objective then a very elaborate course is in store.
Ethan Morgan
Great course, one of the better around the city. Definitely bring waterproof shoes! Can get busy on weekends but worth the wait, unique course.
Charles Manch
Go throw some discs with your pals!! It's a good course, not too muddy, cement throwing pads.
Eric Byrd
Really fun disc golf coures lots of open holes with a few trees to contend with ... river comes in to play on 5 of the 18
Sam Linn
Love the disc golf course. Play there several times a month.
Steve Reiss
Great course. Challenging. Also a great park to walk a dog or hangout with a friend. You can also fish in the river
Spike Awesum
Great course, a little confusing figuring out which pin you're aiming for, and the water hazards are a bit rough.
Alister Hile
Short course, anything over 300 feet is par 4, great course for your self esteem. Nice, quiet place, lots of fun to play.
Todd Bentley
One of my favorite disc golf courses. It's well kept, and rarely very crowded. Decent variety of holes.
Cris Ferrante
One of the most open yet still scenic disc golf courses I've played. Well maintained.
Darren Torrie
Great course! A couple baskets are asking the river and can lead to trouble, but the course layout is great and plays fantastic.
Michael Williams
Great disc golf course! Mostly open, great to let loose on some drives
Jay Lytle
Great intermediate level course. The difficulty went down after all the ash trees had to be removed, but still a fun 18 holes.
Ben Sims
Great frisbee golf course. Always beware of the river, especially after rainy weather or when playing any of the holes along the bike path!
Zane Ross
This is a great park in general, you have the river, some nice paths to walk/jog along as well as a very nice disc golf course.
Dave Koczur
Open space with few real hazards to lose discs. Unless of course you throw an errant one into the woods that border the course or the river bordering the west side, but that's usually only a problem in the Spring.
Andrew Kulikowski
Great 18 hole course with nice open field shots to test out your drivers
George Karnes
This is a great place to improve your skills. Offering simple to medium holes with the threat of water stealing your disc on the back nine.
Timothy Tortorello
This is a beautiful place to throw discs and generally just hang out. It is especially beautiful during the fall of course I've been coming here all my life I love this little spot
Dave Hollingshead
Solid course with a decent variety of shots. Not the best course in Columbus but still good for a quick round every more and then.
Rachel Solby Park
Peaceful park to walk, drive and yatch
Greg Engelhart
Best disc golf course in the world. Great for beginners and veterans. Fast play.
w ortman
Perfect for a quick or warmup round. Alot of mako3 shots with finesse will give you a good score.
Charles Fannin
Flat and not particularly exciting course. Some nice views along the river, which is also in play as a water hazard when the river is high
J Miller
The course is looking great and they just moved a few tee placements! Waters low, come throw!
Daniel B
This course is built on the old campgrounds that Columbus used to have here. The course isn't bad, but the parking lot is in dire need of some work.
jimi adams
a fun disc golf course, but it helps to have someone along who knows their way around since it's not that well marked.
Joe Campbell
Easy fun disc golf course with a good amount of runners. Careful throwing here
Leslie Vanneman
So far this is my top 5 disc golf course in Columbus. Not bad’
Stephen self
A fun course with not too complicated shots. Excellent beginners course.
Jacky Ogram
We love this course! It is a very scenic course and great for beginners!
Ben Hufford
Decent course with nice tee boxes. Use UDisc to navigate.
Scott Fasone
Awesome mix of wooded and clear shots. Drives can get dicey close to the river.
charlena west
It was a fun time and such a nice day. Nice course, my first time 😊 …
Paulapj Kreider
Had wonderful time down on the river bank
Tyler Guy
Great place to take a walk and be in nature, and when it's empty enough, a great place for a jog with your dog!
Karl Barker
I was fishing for 10 minutes. This is what I got.
Alice Willford
I'd give the park 5 stars if they did a better job of keeping the grass cut.
Chad Harris
Open and easy course. It's not maintained as well as other parks.
Todd Isler
Griggs is a great course, but it's overly trimmed these days... Not nearly so difficult as it used to be.
Sam Smith
Very well kept disc golf course, close to OSU, GO BUCKEYES
Paul Organ
Nice, straightforward course for beginners. Well marked, and nicely maintained!
Jeremy Gillespie
Great Disc golf course. Nice place to walk as well.
Paul Larned
smallmouth bass all day
Clint Reed
Good course, little busy at times. Watch the water on 18 easytoover shoot.
Bill Montgomery
Challenging course and usually lots of skilled players. Play is usually good speed with little waiting.
Michael C Ross
Nearby. Friendly. Great walk even if you can't throw a disc.
Isaac Friedman
One of the few non weed infested disc golf courses.
Rachel Lawrence
Great place for a bike ride and a dog walk.
Kyle Heaton
Decent frolf course, most of the holes are wide open presenting little challenge.
Alex Grady
My dog fell in love with disc golf here. It's Blitzen's favorite place.
katie sinclair
Not ideal for super hot days but that's no fault of the course. Just a friendly PSA.
justin price
Has some longer open holes, good for perfecting your drives.
Amanda Moore
Very nice. Our only complaint was that the grass needs mowed.
David DePoy
Excellent frisbee golf course, large open fields
Connor Reckley
It was small but seemed really nice as a course.
Steven Gray
Good difficulty. Hard to find some holes though even with map
Joel King
Great for locals. Not worth making a drive though.
Esteban Meza
Grass was cut but left everywhere. Dead grass up to my shins
Donny Banks
Mediocre course needs more signs, and maps. Also mow the grass
