Reviews of Blendon Woods Disc Golf Course
Easy course that plays threw the woods. Beginner friendly. Could be played with 1-2 discs. Heavily wooded, but little chance of loosing a disc. First time playing solo, and shot a 44
Wonderfully maintained course. I took my cousin whom hadn’t been disk golfing in over a decade and absolutely loved the course. So great for beginners or returning disk folders, but challenging enough to keep experienced golfers on their toes. This is not a throwing bombs at 400 to 500 feet course. There are some longer holes but no wide open fields, which is part of its charm.
Fun course with a nice variety of relatively short holes. Great course for a quick round!
Short 18 hole course. All wooded but still fairly open holes. One set of tees. This course can be played in under an hour with two people. If it has rained heavily the last 4 holes can be pretty muddy.
Shady course with just enough hazards to keep it interesting. A putting area at the start helps a lot since this course relies on your short game. Lots of short holes to the right, so bring your forehand game. Poison ivy in the brush can really ruin your week, so watch where you step. Have a good one!
Bit muddy of a course but overall not too bad. Most holes are pretty short and narrow. The tree lines aren't extremely overgrown so you'll be able to find your disc's pretty easily if you put a little too much into your throw.
Awesome short wooded course. Fairways are clear so it's not very difficult. Still a blast to play. Very pretty setting although as others have mentioned it can get quite muddy after rain. The asphalt greens are the worst. They can tear up even your to toughest plastic. Aced hole 7 with a DD Judge. And skip aced hole 11 with a star Wraith forehand
Fun short course but swampy after rain/snow
Really nice DG course! The day we went was quite muddy, but I was able to navigate the course with a 4 year old, 2 year old and off-road stroller. A regular stroller would NOT have made it. Also I'm not sure about the etiquette of bringing your super young kids disc golfing but everyone there was really great. It was a crowded course considering it was early morning on a rainy Friday, and there were some larger groups, but everyone was very polite, from the amateurs to the more serious players.
There are some course maintenance items that need to be addressed. Some of the tees are becoming mud pits, and while none of my group hit the deck, there were obvious divots where players had lost their footing. There was also some branch fall but it seemed like mostly players would clear obstacles.
Had a great time for my daughter's 13th birthday!
This course got me into disc golf and I have been playing for 4 years. This remains to be my favorite disc golf course so many good memories on this course, it is very well kept and the trash cans are changed often. If you've never been I highly recommend it!
Classic short course. Just enough technical for the advanced player, but perfect for the beginner. Nice wooded course, but open fairways.
One of the oldest courses in Columbus. The pars are comical compared to today's newer designs. See how low you can go!
First time playing today. Was a lot of fun! Nice clean course and absolutely stunning environment!
A gem! Short course but fun. Seasoned disc'ers won't feel challenged but it is a great course for those who just want to get out & chuck a disc or two. Fast paced. Most people I saw only carried 2-3 discs. Everyone we met was friendly. The Park Ranger was assisting a park visitor that had a flat tire. Nice afternoon!
Short, wooded course. While not needing to have a lot of power to play well, they're are some very narrow lanes. Make sure to wear boots if it has rained recently, it can get pretty muddy
This is a beginner level course. Old school style pitch and putt. If you are an experienced player you can tee off with a putter on ever hole. This place is well maintained and policed. If I am introducing someone to the sport I bring them here. Parks department is always keeping the course well maintained. Older style mach 3 baskets. Only way to improve would be to add more trash cans. Expect to see families playing slowly with no idea what they are doing.
What can I say about Blendon that hasn't been said. The course is alot of fun and very popular. Most of the holes are less than 300 ft, and anyone who's an anyone has aced one or more of the baskets. It used to be a pay course with a little disk rental hut, so the course layout is well thought out. If you're a long arm thrower, this isn't your course, precision putting and a little finesse on your drive can really be the key. Gets busy on nice days over the weekend and can lead to bottlenecks of groups, but the off peak times are beautiful. A must play if you're passing through the Columbus area, this course is fun :)
A fun course that is short enough to be quick, but has some challenging bends and a few narrow fairways to keep things interesting.
This course is an old school treasure! ❤🥏🏆 *WARNING! If you haven't played here in a while, the lines may seem dramatically different.* Lots of trees have disappeared and erosion has diminished the 'manicured' greens. This is basically a pitch and putt course but has a special place in my heart as a hub for new disc golfers in Columbus. I introduced so many people to the game here.
Fairly short but very enjoyable course in a beautiful wooded setting.
Top notch par 3. Well managed and concrete tees. Well marked.
I really love this course! When I first started it was a really enjoyable introductory course with enough hazards to be entertaining while not causing me to chuck my disc in the woods and storm off. As I've gotten better the course has remained enjoyable, and while far from difficult now, it is the perfect place to try new throws and discs.
All around good course. Relatively easy. Can get muddy, but usually is in good shape and the mud is avoidable.
Really fun, short 18 holes. Seems like none of the runs are longer than 300 feet. It’s in the woods, it’s common to spend a lot of time looking for discs that end up in the leaves or ponds. It’s pretty and quick.
Very nice course! Lots of trees, but a super easy 18er. Short, 130-250ft. I use my putter the whole time. Great for beginners, but also great for pros to come snipe!
I really enjoyed this course. All the holes are short distances, but you still have to pay attention to how you are throwing. Good challenge for beginners and good practice for more advanced players to practice skill shots. Definite recommend!
I consider this my "home course", it's very short and easy to score on. When the trees have leaves it gets a little more difficult. Also tends to hold a lot of water, so don't wear good shoes if it has been raining recently.
I love this disc golf course. I would consider myself an amateur player. My best s ore on this house is a -8 playing every basket as par 3. They really packed a beautiful and simple course in this space. There are a few holes that you will lose your disc if you do not have someone to spot for you. I meet a lot of friendly disc golfers here and seems to be a pretty popular spot. It is well maintained and a fantastic course to play. It is a begginer course and is not by any means physically demanding.
Great course! Well maintained and clean, its a fun course. Nice and shady too, good for a warm day when you're trying to escape the sun.
Nice short disc golf course. Geared more towards casual or family play than a serious disc golfer and can get muddy at times after a rain. Great for a quick round
I had a Blast. I've never played before and this was my first time. The park is beautiful and even though I had like a 5 every time I had such a good time with my friends here good place to go and visit and blow off some steam during quarantine. Everyone around me was so patient. I would recommend a visit to all of my friends.
Fun little wooded course w defined fairways. Good for midrange/putter drives and putting practice. An ace run course (speaking of which, I got an ace on hole 2 today! Holla!). A feel good course to play if you're feeling down about your game.
Love it! It's a good beginners' course... I always score well there. There's plenty of parking... just don't speed on your way into the park. The park rangers will chase you down!
Someone recently stole the signs, the midway drinking fountain is out of order, and the donation box is perpetually broken... but none of those things matter to me or my rating.
Free. Pretty course, under and through trees. Easier than Brent at Hoover Dam. Very pleasant. Nearby rest rooms. And no so much poison ivy!
The park and course are nice. But the rangers got tired of giving out discs. So they put then in a box by the course. I am sure that the reason there were none in the box was because the first greedy b. That came along took them all and sold them on Craig's list. While 99.9% of the people in parks are good and honest. It's that super small few that make that idea a bad plan.
Great 18 hole course in the woods. Lots of parking, good practice hole, and plenty of space for other activities. Definitely recommend.
Great course for beginners. Short fairways, thin woods throughout. Pretty walk through the woods as you curse your missed putt!
Beautiful Course, quick 18 holes, and great for kids and beginners. Watch out and take care when playing after it rains. Alot of puddles and really muddy.
Very nice little course, fairly short holes, all concrete pads, however, it's not very challenging and can get pretty waterlogged after a good rain,
It's short and easy, but interesting and fun.
Perfect place for beginners and pros. Beautiful wooded course that is quick n fun. My favorite in columbus!
Perfect little course to learn disc golf or practice your short game on. Highly recommend if your looking for a shorter round or just for the ace running.
Definitely water logged
Oy bad in the lower sections!!
Short, quirky course. Good for dates and beginners.
Great "pitch and putt" course. Wooded with nice fairways. Only downside is the concrete pads around the baskets. Seems a bit off.
A great beginner course for those who are overwhelmed by the skill required to play Hoover Dam. Nice diagrams, trash cans throughout the course, and we'll balanced game play. Would recommend.
Blendon Woods is a mediocre at best disc golf course. Most of the holes are very short, and there is not a lot of variation in terms of types of throws required. There are at least 6 other courses in the Columbus area that are superior to this course.
Never actually played the course, tend to run into a lot of "discheads" who speed into the parking lot and litter. Saw a group bringing their dog despite the "no dogs allowed" sign. Stay classy folks.
Amazing course during all seasons. Upkept by the park rangers who are fairly knowledgable about disc golfing. Recent windstorm that came through gahanna blew down quite a few trees making it almost a whole new experience for thise who are used to playing it. Reccomend to every level of player.
Somewhat short, tight, wooded course. Nothing much over 220ft. Challenging. Fun if you can stay out of the woods. You don't have to pay anymore!
Easy course to boost confidence but maybe too easy that it has a lot of traffic with long wait times. But the wait times make for great conversations and meeting new people!
Great little disc course in town . Watch out for the trees and throw straight because the fairways are narrow.
Great course for my family. Well maintained and easy enough for the younger boys but also challenging for the older kids.
not only is blendon woods a great place to visit but let me tell you something when I was homeless and didn't have a place to go blendon woods let me stay up at the park for as long as I needed to take a break from driving and I really needed a place to sit and rest and blendon woods without being too conspicuous let me sit there and take my time and get my gather my thoughts the beautiful well-kept Park
Very Accessible Course for the Beginner - wear water proof hiking boots as it can get muddy at times....
enjoy this course very much great for both beginners and possibly future PDGA players
Great way to enjoy nature while having some healthy competition! Course was clean and we'll kept up.
Nice course, well maintained. In woods so a bit cooler on hot days. Shorter then some but fairly tight
Alway a fun course to practice the short game. Lots of history here for sure. No fee to play. Always someone there. Easy to find off of 161.
Fun. Long course, then they all are!! Alot of fun. Well kept. Busy but not crowded.
Gem of a course. Short but technical. Has muddy spots that are avoidable. Nice tee pads. Holes clearly marked so no wondering.
Very easy course. Every single hole is under 300 feet and wide open ace run style.
Very nice metro park. If you play the disc golf course and it's above freezing prepare for it to be really muddy.
Me and my wife had a blast.. she took me for my first time ever playing frisbee golf and blendon woods was beautiful we had a great time.
This is a fun course, it is pretty easy compared to the Brent Hambrick right down the street. I like to come here to use my putter on every hole.
Great disc course. Super muddy but easy enough that it's not a deal breaker
Wonderful disc golf course. Wild turkeys out and about. Beautifully kept.
Such an easy course all around love going with friends from work and enjoy the relaxing games!
Very well kept golf park!
Disc golf course nice course few clears outs make it nice trash cans little mud but that's normal nice fun little course
I have been playing this course for 30 years and still love going there whenever I can, i now take my kids there to
The course is a decent size, but all of the holes are somewhat overlapping or extremely close.
A nice wooded disc golf course. It was $1.50 a person when I went and well worth it. Beautiful scenery and course.
Not the longest course around but still a challenge great place for beginners
Fun little beginners course. Well worth checking out, and a place to learn the game and build confidence for a beginner.
Great beginner course. Always being first timers here
First time there. It is a lovely park.
Has some difficult walking trails for those who want some challenge.
One of the most beautiful parks I have been to around Columbus, and the disk golf course is excellent!
Great course! Met a cool couple from Austin Texas. Finished game with them and hungout after.
Well maintained, good for practicing accuracy just not very challenging.
Beautiful looking park. There are sections so it's not all cramped in one area.
Best course. Nice and secluded great time with the family. Peaceful area.
Great beginner course with mostly short wooded shots
Believe course. You must see it to believe it
Excellent course for a quick game thats easy on the body. Very peaceful area.
Great course for beginners. Average hole is 200 ft
Great course. Well maintained. Good for all playing abilities.
Pretty muddy but a lot of fun
Great short range course perfect for players of all skill levels
Great wooded local course. Easy walk for friendly competition.
My favorite local disc golf course 🥏⛳ …
This is a short fun course. The only knock on it is it can be very muddy, as it was today.
Great course for any skill level!
Should be a par 3 course but still fun
Great place to get away from everyone and be alone to just throw some discs
My favorite course in Columbus. Excellent for beginners.
My best round at this course. Fun as always.
Gratuitous par 4s in a well maintained shaded course.
Beautiful park and a fun disc golf course!
Perfect when you don't have a ton of time to get a round in
Really helps you work on your short game.
