Reviews of Green Mountain National Golf Course
C Tedesco
The course is fun to play and in great shape. Only 2 opportunities: 1) the bunkers could be better maintained. There wasn’t enough sand in some and others were just not maintained. We had to rake and place in a few of the bunkers as a result. 2) it was a slow round. Despite tee times every 12 min, we were waiting on every hole. There was a ranger driving around but it didn’t seem like he was pushing people along at all.

Had a great round and the course is absolutely beautiful. Greens and airways were pristine. I highly recommend. One thing, the staff are discourteous, aloof and act as though they are doing you a favor for allowing you to fold there. This is true of the pro shop guy (even after buying an overpriced pair of shoes) to the starter and the Marshall. So enjoy this awesome course and setting but don’t expect much on the service end.

Most underrated golf course I have ever played at. Best in the region. Exceptional scenery and flora as you play. Challenging, well maintained bunkers, and plays long. Friendly staff, well-selected pro shop with high quality apparel, and wonderful bar/restaurant.
Diane Stowell
One of my favorites. Great layout. Fun course. Always in great condition.
6/7/22 The course is in great shape. Greens are rolling true. Love this course!

Played 2 rounds on 6/17 first day of an annual golf trip for 12 guys. This was the first time we played this course and we were not disappointed. Course was in fantastic shape, greens were perfect and staff was fantastic. Not a thing I can remember to complain about.
Joshua Terenzini
Beautiful course with some of the most incredible views. I can only imagine how beautiful it is in the fall! This course was challenging but well worth it. We'll be back!

5 star plus course. Beautiful lush Green Mountains location, with plenty of terrain, water, and bunkers. Played on a Wednesday, light traffic. Whites slope 128, 5787 yards, reds (women) 126, 4740, but hazards and terrain make many holes a scenic challenge. Rates good at $92/ea.greens & fairways in good shape. We had great club sandwiches and shrimp taco in the grill, also a cart girl on course, a great day, heat wave in New England, but shade and fun course!

Beautiful course. Great condition. Friendly staff. We loved it.
David Peterson
Wonderful course and very friendly people. The landscapes and gardens make this a great experience. Far from the golf “fields” you see in other areas. Each hole is sculpted, visually enticing and unique. Don’t miss the chance to play here.
Dan Maynard
Gorgeous setting, great conditions....this is my new favorite course!!
Patrick Rafferty
Great course and staff. The staff at the front desk, the Starters and kitchen staff were all very professional and courteous. We played 7 or 8 rounds last July and was never disappointed in the condition of the course and all of its challenges. We will definitely return next this year.
Dan Lake
Absolutely beautiful course (plays short and tight - be prepared to lose a few balls in the woods), with the best egg sandwiches at any golf course I've ever played. That said, the new management is NOT friendly, which is too bad for a town that has a great reputation for friendly people.
Charly Hillman
Great course. Delicious food and snacks.

While vacationing at a family reunion in Chittenden, I was hoping to get a tee time mid-week at GMNGC. Unfortunately they had a four day AJGA event going on, so I was only able to get a late afternoon tee time with my wife and two daughters. Someone had said "the front nine is great, the back nine is even more challenging".
We played the front nine and then drove the back nine, stopping to play the par 3's and the 18th.
In my 50+ years of playing golf in a number of great locations, this course is in the top 3 - ever! Beautifully designed individual holes with awesome visuals as you approach each green. They also conveniently placed large bunkers directly in front of many greens. :-)
The greens are fast and faceted. Coming from Michigan, the northern Michigan golf scene at Treetops is the epitome of scenic golf. This blew them away. I loved the way that the rocks and boulders were incorporated into the design. Just an awesome course, and one that I would make a trip to play again - on a fall day with blue skies and the maples in color. There could not be a better place to be.
Just to confirm that it truly is an exceptional course, the next day we played Killington. It was nice, the views were great, but Green Mountain is a whole 'nother level. It's not long, just gorgeous.

A truly phenomenal course! Playable , but tricky , recommend you hit it straight lol lots of great holes w easier par 3s and a number of tough par 4s!! Fairways were like Augusta they were so perfect! Keep it in play and you can score!
Bryan Harrington
Great round, beautiful color even without sunshine. Challenging will improve you game. Loved the beverage cart great toddies "won't help your game". Not a problem all day, emaculate.
Nicole Phillips
This is an absolutely amazing golf course! Beautifully maintained and the most polite and considerate grounds crew!! This track can be tricky and the helpful hints on their website were definitely utilized!!! Must play! We will be back!
Daniel Andersen
Another gorgeous course in Vermont. Well kept with ACTUAL SAND in the bunkers.
A little challenging, but isnt that the point? The staff and starter were extremely friendly. The starter talked to us for about 5 minutes about the course and how to play a hole or 2 a certain way to score well.
Just be careful when looking for balls by the ponds.

Green Mountain National Golf Course, 4-1/2 stars, is a championship layout that ranks with some of the best in Vermont. This tree-lined parkland course provides a wonderful test for your all-round game, with many attractive, skilfully crafted and challenging holes to enjoy. A must play if you are in the area.

I rarely review anything on Google unless it greatly impressed me, or disappointed me, and this review is no exception.
I'm not a terribly experienced golfer but this course blew my father and I away. I've never seen a golf course in this fine of a condition. The tee boxes are all perfectly even, the fairways were exceptional, and the greens are in prime condition. Just jaw-droppingly good. Also, it's worth noting the views on this course of Killington, VT. Vermont truly is a remarkable state and this course proves it with every hole.
This course is SUPER challenging and be ready for some tough putting. I found the front nine to be hard but the back nine was even harder! We would practically kiss the ball with our putters and the damn thing would roll a mile long! Wicked fun golf!
My only critique of this course is the bar inside the clubhouse. With such an excellent course, I was expecting to walk in to a incredible bar and this is where my expectations fell short. This bar… is a bar. Chips and snacks are piled up on a table in the corner, some draft beers are on tap and the menu includes all the bar favorites, hot dogs, hamburgers, fries and nachos. While I'm not complaining, I would have expected this club house to have an extensive menu selection with a much more classy look/feel. However, we came here to golf. Not to eat lunch and order steaks.
Overall, this was a 5 star golfing experience. I will be coming back (and I hope to take some strokes off my game). Come and spend the money to play golf at a course that makes you feel like your a pro.
Patrick Florio
Great course with lots of elevation change. Very beautiful and scenic shots on almost every hole. Challenging without being punishing on mishits. A must play if you're in the area.
Jason Brownhill
The course is well designed with several memorable holes. It's in great condition as of Spring '16. They have grass practice tees and the staff is friendly and accommodating.
Michael Nuzback
Beautiful course with a unique layout. Greens needed some work. Management is not the most welcoming.
Randy Bunnell
Bummer, only front nine was open but if in Killington this is the golf course to play. Good price, challenging holes and decent pace of play.
colin green
Fantastic alternative to the much busier course up the road
Adam Leader
Really enjoyed it. Scenic, challenging hilly course. Not crowded on my visit. Wish it were closer to home so I could play it more!!
Tom Citriniti
What a beautiful course, great layout. Challenging and a great combination of long and short holes.
Norm St. Laurence
Great track, but with this virus no ball washer, no rakes for bunkers, and no fully open hole . But better than a day of work.
Julie Maxfield
They were all booked up. Glad to see they are keeping busy during this pandemic. So we hit balls on the driving range.
Keith Hendershot
Great course to play and the staff is friendly and helpful.
Timothy Fortune
By far one of the best courses in Vermont with some real amazing views. A must play course for anyone who loves the game.
