Reviews of Essex Family Fun & Entertainment Center
We've mini-golfed here several times and this place is awesome. They have such a fun little course. Great place to bring your kids and the family! A perfect summer activity 😁 …
Place is fun for your kids, has a beautiful driving range, great batting cages, and a fun mini putting course. They have something for the entire family to enjoy. Plus, for the prices, you won't find too many other things in the whole of VT that are as fun for that cheap.
I enjoy this place now that I know (the hard way) that you have to bring your own cash and they WON'T accept any cards (it's 2019, what is this about). It is so close and convenient, I find myself sneaking over to hit a bucket of balls. I would rate it higher but the whole cash thing kills me and there were some cleanliness issues I believe could be cleaned up. The boys clearly enjoyed miniature golf as shown in our photos. And the batting cages are something which is hard to come by in this area.
Came here for mini-golf, fun as always. Equipment is clearly sanitized after each use. Would have been nice if all the water features were on. Happy that at least the waterfall was. Some of the 'greens' need attention.
Cash only.
Driving range: Plenty of stalls; easy to distance from others. Clean range balls. Yardage markers off by 25 yards or more. Mats only; despite all the grass. Only a few tees available. Difficult to track ball landing because grass is long.
I visited Sunday morning 8/14/22. It's a fun golf course, the grounds are pretty well kept and the water features are great. But the greens and cups are in shocking disrepair and need to be replaced ASAP. However, the course was crowded when they opened at 11, so maybe it's not that big of a deal to others.
Variety of options - mini golf, driving range, and batting cages. 100% outdoors and only porto-lets available. Driving range is well kept but usable clubs are very old and in terrible shape. Mini golf course is fun, but holes are poorly maintained with bumpy and pulled up greens and leaves all over - most water features not working. Cash only. Overall fun.
Nice family fun place. One improvement I would suggest, for us older folks, have a few benches scattered around where we can take a rest between holes.
Great fun for the family. All my kids (ages 4-13) enjoyed the driving range, we played in the batting cages and the mini golf was a nice end to our visit.
We had fun. I went with a 15 year old and we had fun. It's pretty easy and quick for just the two of us but I imagine it would take longer with more people and younger kids. We enjoyed it after going to an early morning appointment and eating breakfast nearby. It probably took us about 30 to 40 minutes to complete the course. They have lots of different size golf clubs and colored balls. The place is really pretty and I enjoy the scenery and got some nice pictures. I would go back again.
Was very fun mini golf and very well maintained
Nice mini-golf course, but it needs to be better maintained in certain spots.
Best mini golf in Essex. But seriously it's a great place to take the kids for a little family fun. Not the fanciest mini golf course out there, and could probably use a little updating. But still it's a fun local place and a great way to have so low stress fun.
Decent mini-golf course and driving range. My only gripes are that I remember this being built during high school and being by far the best in VT and it's decline since then. While my personal opinion is that is still one of the top ones in the state, over the last couple of years the maintenance is inconsistent. When they clean it or early on in the season it is great and well maintained. By late summer the water starts to get a bit scuzzy and some of the netting and other landscaping is a bit off.
That being said, it is still one of the best in the area and does a good job overall. If you go on a weekend with good weather be prepared to wait a bit as it is likely to be packed.
Driving range is good, there is a grass section to hit from. Prices are competitive with the other ranges in the area.
Pretty cool place with nice, if not relatively boring holes. Many of the holes are difficult in that if you don't hit hard enough, it guarantees your ball rolling all the way back. Some features seemed to be turned off, but the waterfall is very nice on a hot day. We found $20 for two adults and one child to be a bit pricey for a single round.
The people are very friendly. The facilities were good but not in perfect shape. However, what do you expect with primarily outside activities that get bombarded by the weather. Still a fun place to take the family!
Bring cash! Had no other option when I visited for mini golf. The course is a classic that I recommend bringing kids to and again when they have the memories to try against. Keep score, and skip hole 18 to try for a better score - can loop around 10-17 if you have the time/interest.
Keeping the watered sections clean seems to be a big difficulty, but avert your gaze towards the waterfall in the middle instead. There are unique water traps that can be fun!
Plenty of benches or places to sit to let a faster group pass, and a fun way to spend an hour+
Dave is a great golf coach and has improved my game dramatically.
Nice setup..clean, fun well maintained. Easy to find
A great family oriented place to play "outdoor miniture-Golf." There is a driving range for the avid Golf player, working on techniques to improve your drive. This place also offers a batting cage for softball and baseball players. This is an overall clean place, without hassle from a time limit. Last but not least, there is a small area designed for anyone who plays golf, to sharpen up on their short game... practicing how to "putt." Located in Essex center Vermont.
Really fun golf course
Had a blast with my daughter in the batting cages. They have a easy token system and drinks to help keep us going.Very friendly staff and helpful! Will be going back again and again!
Pretty straight forward mini golf focusing on green breaks instead of 3d gimmicks/obstacles. Moderately well maintained and fun.
Nice golf course but they need to redo the greens they're all chewed up a carpet needs replacing on a lot of the holes a little more upkeep on the course
Please just put a little money into maintaining this place.
Decided to do something on a whim and this turned up. A fun, well maintained mini golf course. Challenging at times, but a good time at a reasonable price.
Absolutely wonderful. So much fun for the family, for a very reasonable price. Very friendly staff and well maintained facility. It's the perfect place for a family outing on a nice day.
Good place to bring your kids. The mini golf course needs updating.
Putt putt course is very worn down and in very bad condition. It is the only one in the area though, so I guess I can’t discourage anyone from going.
CASH ONLY!!!!!
good, basic mini golf course!
enough space to socially distance but you should still wear a mask!
Nice place to play mini golf and other activities, however the greens at some holes are getting pretty worn ripped
Family-run by super-nice folks. We come for the batting cages, but there seems to be plenty more activities! Batting cages are well-maintained.
Batting cage out of order but driving range was fun
Good indoor go cart track with small arcade. Staff lost my birthday party reservation but accommodated us well.
Good minature golf, fun layout. Cash only and a little expensive. Four people for 28 bucks?
My family and I had a great time it was a little packed but we'll worth it
Great place for both you and mature, a true family center for all to enjoy.
They desperately need to update/tune up their batting cages. The golf there is great...no complaints
Fun place but no seats around the mini golf course or much for cover
Great place to take your kids for a whole lot of fun!
Since around 18 yrs, same old luck, no perfect wins! Anyway, go for fun every year to come!
Great time🏌️♀️ …

Super nice staff, great entertainment
Course is fun. Greens need to be replaced
Staff was nice and mini golf was well clean and well maintained
The water features were not turned on making the experience mediocre
Newly painted ponds and beautiful landscaping and views!
Pretty expensive considering the poor shape of some putting surfaces!
Courses very well maintained how many employees are very nice
Love this place never too busy
Great place to practice batting and driving.
I will definitely go back here.
