Reviews of Puttshack - Boston

Stayed over in Boston for a few days. No idea what to expect, but we had a good time. Very easy to spend money on drinks here. Food was good and service very fast, especially between holes :). We like the variety of the holes. A fun night out and worth the trip.

Brought my niece and her fiance who were visiting from New Zealand for 2 rounds of golf on a Thursday mid day.
There's 2 great things about this place. The first is the staff. I was pretty amazed how awesome the staff was. So super friendly and attentive! Definitely wanted us to have a great time, which we did. Thank you!
The second is the various holes in the courses. So much fun! Be careful not to hit your ball by accident as the score is kept electronically. The electronic score keeping turned out to be fantastic as we could immediately see who was leading and trailing.
There's a bar and food as well. 2 levels of fun with a 'cloak' room for your cloakes. 😉
Absolutely a place to revisit!!

Had a great time for opening. Dave and John on the courses were extremely helpful and friendly even through they were getting slammed with clients. Ryan the manager was also extremely helpful when all the servers were busy and I wasn’t able to order any drinks on the course. He personally went to the bar, ordered the drinks and brought them to us and that just made the experience even better. It wasn’t perfect as most places that just open up are not but they did their hardest to make it an amazing time. I’m so happy with the experience that I’ve had and I’m definitely going to be coming back for some more amazing food.

Positive:
1. Very modern, with interactive holes, that was super cool, also everything is digital so you can see your points on each screen.
2. Location is a good area in Boston
3. mentioned before but very cool concepts with the holes like beer pong.
4. It was fun overall
Negative:
1. Tight space, I assume it was a decision because of the area.
2. saying it was tight, everyone was basically together, like you don’t have space to hangout on your own because all holes are very close, to a point if you are waiting to play the next hole, you are in someone’s way.
3. It was loud; not trying to be a grandma, but since the space is limited, everyone is basically together, the restaurant was full, music, it was too much.

I had a really fun time playing mini golf with my family here! The courses were unique and interesting, and it's cool that the number of strokes are recorded automatically. Do note that several of the holes change *among courses*, but not all 9 are different. Holes such as True and False and Spin the Wheel repeat, but no two holes on one course are the same. We did hit a couple of technical snags at various points with the wrong number of strokes being recorded, or the hole not working in general, but these are small things.
The drinks were really good as well. I very much enjoyed my Smokin' Painkiller (see attached photo). Although it is on the more expensive side, it is definitely worth going!

I’m currently in Boston, Massachusetts and let me just say it is so nice up here! For it to be cold there is so much to do here! My cousin is getting me out to see the city and this particular night we ended up at an indoor golfing spot called “Puttshack” I definitely recommend everyone going here for a fun night with family or friends! This environment is for everyone you’ll have a good time and the food is good as well! Whenever you are in the Boston area give this place a try you’ll have lots of fun!

Had a BLAST at Puttshack!! Super cool concept considering the location. Keep in mind parking is a pain in the seaport but there are always plenty of garages nearby. This is great because you can play during any season! My boyfriend and I went on a Tuesday afternoon for his birthday. When signing up for our games, we mentioned to one of the staff that it was his birthday and we’re wondering if we could use the “free bday” game you get when registering for that day—they were more than accommodating and comped us both games! The director of opps ended up helping us but all employees we interacted with were very pleasant and helpful! We played two games one on the sapphire course and one on the emerald course, both entirely empty since it was a week day afternoon! And then we were having so much fun we signed up for a third on their ruby course. These were all upstairs, I believe there is a downstairs as well but that was not open due to the time we were there (not as busy). The courses were fun and not too challenging but definitely learned a bit more as we went on. Also bonus, everything is digitally recorded! No more fumbling with a little pencil and card. We didn’t have any food but menu and drinks looked great to try next time. We will definitely be back!
Ethan Roache
Each round is only 9 holes, so golfing is cool and fun, but doesn’t take very long. The specialty drinks were fine, but not good enough to make me want to stay and hang out after my group finished playing. Not a bad experience, but definitely more of a stop for me rather than a destination
Sajud Hamza
A very new concept of mini golf with a twist…I really liked the innovative place where you have different types of maps to play golf and food along with it!! The food was also great …you should go with your group to chill around and have sone good food plus drinks here!!!
Thuc Anh Nguyen
We had a good time here! Group of 7 and we played all 9 games in a bit over an hour on a Sunday evening. I wish it was longer since if you go on a date or something, 9 games will fly by in a heartbeat. There was some minor waiting and also waiting for the ball dispenser, but overall it was fun. We didn't have any drinks or food there so no comments.
Mary Carandang
Came in to Boston for the weekend and booked a reservation for my boyfriend and I. Course is short but fun. Love the electronic scoring. Fun vibe with the bar and music. Would go back just wish the course was longer.
Erin Lauzier
Service was incredible, manager was personable and accommodating. The space was clean and super family friendly. Impressive for only being open a short period of time. Drinks were cold and although we didn't eat, the food looked and smelled amazing! We will be back, and we'll bring friends! Thank you!
Victoria Gelmi
Fantastic concept…. Topped with great cocktails….. but honestly bad management. We waited 2.5 hours for a table…. As there was a private event on (didn’t use any of the tables). We had a reservation for 6pm and we were FINALLY seated at 7:40pm!!!!!!! Thank GOD the food came out fast, but by gosh it was chaos.
rodney alejandro
Great spot for a fun with friends. There are multiple courses to try your game out. Attended during holiday parties but the wait to play holes was not to bad. There is a bar and restaurant for food. Music was just loud enough so you still hear other players cheering.
Lisa Obsheatz
My sister and I visited while on our girls trip. They had just opened that day. Chatted with a couple of nice and friendly bartenders. Alex, who gave us some jabs about our Houston Astros, all in good fun of course, was great! We had great drinks and great food. All the staff was very friendly!!! Hope to go back to Boston soon!! Alex if you read this… WS champs baby! 🤪

Loved this place! The gameplay is how all mini-golf should be; no handwritten scorecards or fudging the stats, and equality in play through potential bonus shots and other skill sets besides just putting.
As some have noted, the price point is a little on the higher end of things, but I think that’s understandable given it’s a new business and Seaport real estate is expensive. There are also 3 (from what I could see) different 9-hole courses to play, so plenty of variety.
The food and drink was surprisingly good given the main attraction is the golf game-play. Can highly recommend the flatbreads, Brussels sprouts, potstickers, and “Boston Tailpipes” from experience.
One tip for adults without kids is to go during the later hours when it is 21+. Less busy and you don’t have to deal with kids running into you or rushing you because they finished the hole before you in 10 seconds.
Recommendations to the owners: limit group sizes for rounds to 4 people per hole to avoid congestion, make policies more clear on whether tee start times are strict or if there’s a window, and finally provide a way to get drinks from the bar without interrupting gameplay (eg. a waiter dedicated to the course).
Rae Suk Jeong
I think it was one of the best mini golf experience I had. Before entering the game, we ate at the bar and the quality of the food was beyond surprise. We thought the food itself was already worth to visit and were willing to go there again just to eat.
What we loved the most was how we could order alcoholic beverages and drink as we played the game.
There were several themes and courses for each games, which made it even more exciting and made us want to play more than one game. The live scoreboard made us to be more competitive and added fun to the game.
Guido Senderowitsch
FUN FUN FUN!
A great place for a team gathering. While there are 'only' 9 holes, which makes it a not-so-long of a hangout, because we were 10 people it was the right time.
Every hole has its own original way to complete and gain bonus points (no spoilers!) so we had a really good time.
The food is good - not too glorious, but not bad either. They have a big bar with all the drinks you can imagine.
Recommended!
Mark Little
We had one of the best birthday celebrations here recently. The facility was massive with 3 courses to choose from. The place was very clean, and the service we had with our server was outstanding. We never waited for long for drinks. The food platter we choose was shockingly delicious, and we all took food home with us.
The golf itself was so much fun and the technology used was great and impressive. We did 9 holes but should have done 18.
I would highly recommend this place to anyone who has not been here before. We will certainly be back for our Christmas company night out and any other future events. We also liked Spin Boston too, but this was slightly better.
And honestly, the value was good for all we ate and drank.
Bre Marks
The mini golf experience was super fun and unique. There were a few technical kinks that needed to be worked out, but I think that will come with time. For a fun experience in the city I think the price per game was reasonable. The food and drinks were so good and very reasonably priced for the city.
Samantha Mascari
More like 3.5 stars. The experience is cool, definitely worth going once. But once you've done the courses available, I don't see a reason to come back. I didn't eat the food but the drinks were quite expensive, especially since you still have to pay for the mini golf. There were long lines too for the courses, we waited 30 minutes to start! a 9 hole course takes maybe 45 minutes.
Amanda Sherman
I can't compliment the Puttshack Boston team ( ESPECIALLY Casey our server, and Derek, one of the management team members) enough. We had a private group event of about 20 people on New Year's Eve, and from the moment we got there Casey was ready to celebrate with us, warmly welcomed us and provided top-tier service, far beyond what I would expect. She helped organize us to our tee times and did a great job making sure we knew what to expect with the flow of the night. Shortly after starting our round a family member had an unexpected medical need that was handled professionally, safely, and as discretely as possible. When we were ready to return to play, we were incorporated back on course seamlessly. Casey was compassionate and helpful throughout, and we had a blast through the ball drop.
I would have no hesitation to return to Puttshack either for fun or another group event. Our event was ages 27- 70 and enjoyed by all. They also have a great mocktail menu for those who want a creative drink without alcohol, and the food was excellent.
Thank you Casey for a fun memorable night!

The mini golf course is a 5/5 experience, super fun and innovative. The staff are great and super nice. The only reason I’m giving a 4 star review is because of their signature espresso martini. It tasted artificially sweet and chocalately but in a bad way, probably one of the worst espresso martinis I’ve ever had. Bartenders are awesome though, especially Alex, who tried to make it better for us!
Aly S
We had a great time! Drinks came fast. Had a blast playing. I do wish the courses were longer than 9 holes. The machines do the scoring—it’s super easy. We will be back!

My friend and I enjoyed our time at Puttshack during the 21+ hours. We had a dinner table and mini golf RSVP. The host sat us at our table upon arrival. Our waiter attended to us soon after, he was friendly and helped us choose eats and drinks. Everything came out in a timely manner. During dinner we were able to see our names on the mini golf screen that tells you the time and which course you’re to play. The staff member at our course was also nice and friendly. He explained how the course works and we were ready to go. Mini golf was fun! This is a new establishment and I’m sure they’ll have to work out the kinks. I did notice the bar was crowded and slow however imo I do not believe this is a place to go just to have drinks, there are many other places on Seaport to go for drinks/music. We ate, had drinks, played golf and went on our way.
Clifford Metcalf
Pretty much the coolest mini golf experience I've ever had. The holes are unique a lot of fun. Only drawback is most people have zero consideration for others. People will stop to order drinks and wait for them to arrive while several groups pile up behind them waiting for a turn. They need to do somthing to make the game flow a little more smooth for everyone.
Aysha McIntosh
Courtney was great she was so nice! The food was good too I had the Mediterranean lamb skewers! The new place to be in Boston.
Juleisha B
Fun experience. Decent price, good food and drinks. The service was great. Unfortunately, due to technical difficulties, a few of my friends golf balls were not counted for when they scored.
Michael Tinker
Awesome activity to do inside during the colder months. I've gone twice and it's always been fun. Drinks are a little high price and service can be slow sometimes.
My only problem with this place is the spacing of the groups with their tee off times. It gets very crowded and there is limited space to wait for your chance at the next hole.
Elizabeth Sherman
Truly can’t say enough great things about the staff at this place. We had a private party, which was already going great, on New Year’s Eve. Our server, Kaci, was INCREDIBLE - so attentive, kind, and totally matched the vibe of our group. Everyone is still talking about her.
Someone in our group had a totally unexpected medical emergency & needed real help. The staff at Puttshack was above and beyond what I would have expected. They sprung into action to get and keep the person safe — redirecting patrons, getting the person privacy, contacting medical, and also taking care of the rest of our group. I truly cannot say enough good things about everyone. Thank you to ALL of you at Puttshack - we went on to have a great evening once our family member was home resting, and we are so grateful for your help. You made the night fun despite the challenge & also helped us to go on to have a great evening. Happy 2023 - we won’t forget your kindness !

I purchased tickets for 5 adults and 1 junior on 12/26 for 11:40 am. My group arrived on time however my 2 year old got sick in the parking garage and we had to head home. Half of our group played and the other half left. I called several times to see if I could be refunded or receive a credit for the 3 tickets but I have not been able to get in touch with anyone. Every time I call, the hold music will play and then the phone will hang up. I got in touch with someone one time yesterday who told me they would give my phone number to a supervisor but I have not heard back. I called again today and same thing with the phone lines. I am hoping for a refund or a credit for the 3 tickets that did not get used. I will say that our friends who were able to play had a great time. The review is for the customer service.
Molly Shea
Experience was great!! The golf was fun and the staff was even better. PJ was so attentive to our table, despite the bar being backed up!! He made sure we had everything we needed and checked in appropriately. Definitely recommend this place!
Michael Kulczyk
We had issues with our initial drink orders and food order with the manager. Cora, Zach and Francis took care of us and made sure everything was taken care of and fixed. Obviously mistakes happen, but they went above and beyond to make my girlfriend and I first experience at Puttshack the best. We can’t wait to come back. We don’t mind mistakes happening, but the way they handled it was top notch. We were lucky to have them tonight!
Kit Kat
Surprisingly many kids here during the day time. I had expected mostly adults given the way the company portrays themselves online. The food was great, but the service not so much. It took nearly 30 minutes just to get our order taken. The golf is fun, but it's quite crowded and loud, and not much room in between courses and the lines begin to pile up. Be sure to not bring anything with you that you may need to hold on to such as jackets or purses.
Rachel Quist
Fun vibe - the electronic scoring was nice and the food was good. Drinks were pretty good and the service was great. The golf itself was another story - there were so many large groups that there was lots of waiting to play. We were scheduled to start at 7:30pm and didn’t start until around 8, the whole game took about an hour and a half which at least half of that was waiting. The gameplay itself was really fun and the theming was impressive!
Giac Dang
Brought our 5 and 3 year old here. Was a great experience and the staff was very patient and attentive this being our first time. We did 9 hole emerald course super fun. The best thing was electronic tracking of your score and strokes. We'll be back
Rushit Patel
Went for a work get together. The atmosphere is great, the putt putt part of it was fun and out group had fun. Food was okay, not great but not bad either.
Disliked how long it took to get the bartenders attention for a beer. Jeez...taking 2 stars for that.
Porter Charles
Before I went I was a little skeptical, I've putted around if you know what I mean...and this was the most fun, the most modern and the most enjoyable. Never thought I would say it but I'm want to come back. I loved the geekyiness vibe and how they respected gaming culture while infusing it with modern design and bar. Friendly people too! Very clean.
Laura Tevacip
Staff is friendly and food/drinks are good. Mini golf was a lot of fun !
Place was crowded and a bit disorganized. Didn't really understand, when we got there, if we had to check in/wait for our time slot/what the front screen was for, etc.
Michael Denufrio
In terms of an interesting, compelling, and new place to go in Seaport this delivers. Schedule the mini golf way in advance and have fun with friends. The signature cocktails aren’t too bad. However, the servers need a lot of help - whether that’s training or replacement. Our server neglected us, forgot our orders, and gave us the wrong drinks twice. I heard that this is common here.
I Rush
Food wasn't very impressive. Service could have been better. The wait staff kept coming and reaching over our food and taking empty glasses. One of them also took my plate without asking if I was done. We clearly had food still on the table. Then she came back and stared taking the food plates with food on them without asking if we were done. The golf was fun, but the lines were long and slow, assuming because the place is new and popular right now.
James Gabriel
Staff was very friendly and attentive. I loved how while playing staff would come in and check in to make sure you’re all set. Staff would also joke with you. I loved the atmosphere and being able to talk with other mini golfers. 5/5
TT “TT”
Such a clean and vibe filled space. I didn’t like my waiter PJ attitude, nor did I like his demeanor. We only received kindness after we paid the bill. The tip would’ve been higher if the greeting was welcoming and not a bother. After we had our apps we went on to the bar and both bartenders were amazing Paris, And I didn’t get the guys name but I remember he had a clean cut and I loved it. They changed the atmosphere for me, nothing but smiles and energy! Exactly what I was looking for in the SEAPORT since I’ve built most of the buildings there. I appreciated that. I will definitely recommend my local brothers and sisters to attend when both bartenders on schedule, however the server could have a better attitude. Over all the food is a hit, the empanadas and the chimichurri sauce is a slam dunk. The drinks are another slam. Don’t shy away it’s an amazing add on to the Seaport!!!
Margaret Jackson
Stopped by on Friday night to see if we could snag a tee time. They were (understandably) fully booked. We decided to stay for a drink and an app. 30-40min later a manager comes up and rudely tells us that we can't sit there because it's in a reserved area (we'd been there long enough to order and eat half our app without issue) Tells us that we have to move to the otherside of the bar. I asked where and he just pointed, meanwhile there isn't enough space for us and we have to carry over drinks and plates to crowd around a seat. Tried to mention something to the manager and he disappeared. Wouldn't rush back for the poor treatment as a paying customer.
Will Clark
This place is awesome! Very cool and different. A great place for kids during the day and/or a night out! It’s not 18 holes but you still have fun and get a great experience. I would recommend checking out Puttshack!!
Bryan Gomes
Went recently on a double date with friends. Only issue we had was the fact that the music is so loud that we had to almost yell at each other just to simply have a conversation. If you plan on talking while eating i advise going somewhere else other than that the food was good.
Scott Levin
Had a fantastic time with my family at Puttshack Boston. We had a blast playing the Emerald course and regretted not reserving 18 holes or more. Food was good and our server PJ was fantastic, not only did he make helpful suggestions regarding the menu but he helped us navigate the labyrinth of golf courses. You don’t get service like PJ offered very often. Really appreciated it!
Leah Klein
Fun party club vibe. Big bar, with a good selection of drinks from signature cocktails and mocktails to wine, beer and soda. The tech enhanced mini golf is a a lot of fun. Each hole has a different theme. It’s classic mini golf all dolled up for a night in the Seaport. Tasty food options if you want a bite with your game.
A McDonald
Food was just okay, but the mini golf, bar, and vibe make up for it. Stays open to 2am. Definitely make the mini golf reservations ahead of time. Good choice for a fun evening or night in Seaport!
Dumas Wood
Two issues with Puttshack which limited enjoyment:
1. Understaffed at the bar such that the wait for a drink was over 10 minutes, ended up abandoning, so visited and didn't have any drinks
2. Two large groups playing each hole as if a single group, which resulted in a huge backlog and long waits to play the next hole. Either puttshack needs to manage the play so this can't happen or there needs to be a way to allow faster groups to "play through"
Trevbon
So it's a LIIIIIITTTLE cramped inside the area. But the over all concept is very cool. The holes are also pretty fun too. The restaurant food options are limited and a little pricey but worth it.
I'd come back.
It's also video game themed... But like not in that embarrassing way?
Sue Chu
Fun drinks and good food, courses are interesting.
LLItsNotCoolJ
Just want to say A lady named NY was extremely helpful. I feel she is the best receptionist I have ever encountered. She did a hell of a job she deserves some recognition.
pad256
This place is a blast, just a bummer with so many super large groups made the wait time between holes like 10 to 15 minutes. 9 holes took 1.5 hrs, this was excessive to say the least. Stay away from there mixed drinks, to much mix and very light on alcohol, stick with beer or setzer. Might have to try another time when it's not so crazy.
Cam Leoanrd
The holes were a blast and we loved the technology my only complaint is that it is a little short and I think they should add a package deal where you can play 2 of the courses rather than paying for two courses and make it a little bit cheaper to play 2 but otherwise we are going back
Yousra Farina
Had the greatest time! PJ was our waiter and was truly amazing. He was very attentive, friendly, and overall the best! Even with the bar being slow (30 mins to get an espresso martini), PJ saved our experience. 10/10 would come back, thank you so much PJ!
Vmz Conrad
Pretty cool mini golf, a bit expensive but overall really nice courses and fun for people of all ages.
Polina Lazareva
It’s okay for the price. The game system lags at least for one person per group, and in my case one hole did not register and when I was on the last hole, it said which hole was missed (1 Hole) and asked to go back but there were 4 groups waiting already. Poor system, only 9 holes, and group of two people get stuck behind group of 7… Should divide the 4 courses for big groups and for groups of 1-2 people only. Will not be coming back.
Brendan LeBlanc
Fun exciting place. Great time with friends. Place is very clean and team members were very kind. Thanks to Sales Manager Allie who was very helpful and knowledgeable about the place before we visited.
Summer Wang
The overall experience was nice and we really enjoyed the design of each holes. However, the reservation was totally off. We waited an extra hour addition to our original scheduled time.
Phil Dooner
Lots of fun, bar service is slow because of staff taking too long to make cocktails, but otherwise a great venue.
Stacey Registre
Went on the first day it open it’s doors, the staff was great, the games are pretty fun and the food was pretty good too. Definitely would come back again
Mark Diethelm
Very fun. Each hole has a unique twist on it, which makes it much more than just mini golf. Great for an office outing.
Brett Carriker
Love the energy here! Family fun and worth the experience! For the first few weeks being open this place hits the spot for winter night fun!
Matt S
Good stuff, 4 thought little 9 hole courses and a bunch of bars and tables
Corey Thompson
My girlfriend and I came here to try it out while we were in Boston. Friendly staff and a really good time. Food was really good as well
RI AV
A little pricey but definitely fun.
Chris Traer
Unreal. May have the best drinks in Seaport. The mini golf was so much fun.
Irma George
First time and I had the best time. Delicious apps and the drinks are good too
Great atmosphere
Justin Scott Torres
Awesome atmosphere, staff is charming and funny and the food and drinks are great! Good place for a date or a night out with friends
Ryan Casey
Really fun games, but I think they're still finding their groove in terms of how to run everything and meet the high demand. In time I bet they'll iron everything out
Amanda DiCenso
Great service from Nikki tonight! WE HAD FUN! Ask for her section and only down side was lack of AC.
Siria Ayala
Fun hangout spot. Food and drinks ate great. Staff is friendly

Had a great time with my family. What a fun place! Can not wait to go back!

Hole 8 was installed incorrectly, the lip under the connect 4 screen was backwards. Other than that things ran pretty smoothly.
Ryan Barrett
Fun, but expensive. Would do again.
Jenny Chu
It is such a cool place! Drinking/food, mini golf and music. What more can you ask for!
Sean Lahey
Great place but the most entitled and worst people go here.
Linda H
A whole new take on an old faof mine - mini golf. It automatically tracks your game and score for you so you don't have to manually track it by linking your game to the specific ball you're using. They have a few courses along with a bar and restaurant. I didn't end up trying the food / drinks, but I heard it's really good. They also have a complimentary coat check. We had a lot of fun and will definitely be back.

Great place for friends or work party! 4 tracks for 9 hole tracks - each unique and fun. No matter if you are a golfer or amateur you will have a lot of fun at this place. Bar on both floors. While we didn’t get to try to food, non alcoholic drinks were a hit.

What an unreal experience at the bar! Joint was jumping and we only had a few minutes to grab a cocktail before our T-time so we were worried we might not have time to get a drink but tried anyways! Within 10 seconds of us walking up to bar we had already put in our order! While waiting for our drinks to be made 4 staff members asked us if we where already being helped! Such amazing service! All the staff from the girls collecting jackets to the general manager where easy to talk to and nothing but happy to be working at Puttshack!

1st time in Boston,..a nice lead off for a first timer.
Cool and fun vibe..only had a quick appetizer Crab Artichoke dip..was pretty good.
The bartender was generous on the alcohol...😊
Great place to kill time before your flight.
Beats sitting at the airport or hotel.
The price point is competitive and to be expected in a revamped and newly developed inner-city establishment.
I would definitely recommend and will return when I'm back in town.

Very interesting concept, great location for everyone in seaport. The place is small, however and despite there being 3 different courses, each course is the same. Would love to see a variety of courses or levels of challenges, something to keep me coming back.

Needs more holes for one game! The game was so short for the price I was confused that it was already last hole.

Really cool technology used and a vibey atmosphere

My partner and I came here with family and the hostesses were very friendly and welcoming (and also named Laura). The food was good, the Boston Tailpipes were delicious. We had a bit of a difficult time tracking down our server. The dining area seemed to be understaffed as she was waiting many tables. However, we enjoyed golfing very much, the high tech tracking of each ball was impressive and entertaining. We were sad when our round ended. I recommend making a reservation as they get really busy during weekends.

Really fun and unique experience

Four different 9 hole courses to choose from and all extremely fun and inventive. Add in that there's a bar and a place to dine in for great snacks and more, makes for a wonderful experience - great fun! Highly recommend and will return again and again!
