Reviews of Limestone Springs Golf Club
The course would benefit from the presence of a Marshall to start tee times. They had a large group coming in for a dog fight and our tee time was before this. Instead we got rerouted to the back 9 to start and suffered having to play behind a foursome of seniors who were walking.
Etiquette wasn’t much to be found on course to say the least. Our twosome was playing so slow we did everyone a favor and repaired roughly 100 ball marks in the greens to keep people from having to putt through a minefield. Cleaned up several bunkers while we were at it as well. Seems to be the norm instead of the exception here. Course also appears to be cart path only much of the time. Understandable today with it being wet, but just no signs of them ever letting carts off the paths at any time. The greens could be amazing if they were properly maintained. Just not the case right now.
The group that jumped in front of us really sealed the deal for me at the start of the round though. Won’t be returning at these prices for lack of people managing what’s going on at the tees.
Just played Limestone Springs for the first time since August 2020. It has gone through a tremendous restoration and is now as beautiful as I’ve ever seen it. It’s always been a fantastic layout in a gorgeous natural setting. It was a real pleasure to see the course back looking this great. The greens are pristine and healthy and the fairways are firm. And now with the weather starting to cool it’s a great time to rediscover this great track.
Beware of the $8 online reservation fee… seems ridiculous to me to spend the time to create an account to
Create a tee time and then be charged for it. So call the pro shop. Enough calls and hopefully they will switch to another online system. The course was amazing. The greens were true and rolled well. Some local knowledge is required to avoid creek hazard on 11 with one’s second shot. Overall I would certainly play again.
Great place to golf and also to enjoy the restaurant. The course is much more open and upgraded.
If you haven't been lately you could enjoy a much more relaxing game.
This place has come along way. Played there 2 years ago and said I would never come back. A friend recently told me that they had fixed all the fairways and greens. Boy have they ever, this place is absolutely in amazing shape. Look like a pga course on tv.
Great course for the money. Got a hot deal on GolfNow and played 18 for $20. Course was in rough shape last time I played due to winter service on the paths and greens. Looking forward to playing it again this summer.
Course is in excellent shape. One of the best courses central Alabama has to offer.
Course under a big renovation. What I've seen looks good.
Our company is putting new flooring in the clubhouse.
Beautiful golf course. Nearly every hole is a photo op. Start hole one from the tips if you can. Great elevated view. They had a wedding on the tee box the night before we arrived due to the view. The course is not crowded so it is one of those secret gems you feel fortunate to find. Forgiving fairways. Great golf experience. I am looking forward to golfing there again. It was worth the drive.
Not as bad as some recent reviews indicated, but not what it once was. Greens are coming back and the poa has been treated. Give it a few more weeks and it should be better. Bunkers are atrocious but hey, not suppose to hit it there! A little more TLC and this course could be great again.
Course is in great shape. Greens were perfect.
Mixed feelings. At one time, one of the top courses in the state, and certainly my favorite. Played today for the first time in a while, and although the course is nice, it is NOT the experience and condition that it once was. It appears that they are working hard, but the edges are a bit rough. Greens good, but slow. Carts have been allowed to go almost anywhere. It's a bit like the local good ol' boys have taken over. I played behind 4 groups of 5 apiece, playing their own ball. Took about 4:40 to play 18 as a single. No chance of playing through or an offer to. Should not have 5somes. Staff was nice, decent food. Fortunately, I came on a Monday for a $50 rate. If it was weekend it would have been $90! Tough to justify driving an hour from Hoover. I will play here again, but not motivated to try again quickly.
Shape of the course was not good. The layout and area are amazing. It has so much potential. The greens are bent grass that is pretty much dead. I wanted to love this course but the greens made it hard.
This is a beautiful place with upscale environment and friendly staff. They were incredibly busy, but made me feel like I was the most important person in the room. I don't play golf, but am seriously considering picking up the sport just to have an excuse to come back here on a regular basis.
Turf was nice and soft, a little on the pricey side but is a must play for Blount County. Great course on a hot day, lots of shade and water coolers we're frequent (our trip was 93 degrees). We will return here through the heat of the summer.
Great layout. Tees and fairways in great shape. Traps are in awful shape. Greens are in fair shape, but roll decent. Would play it again. Decent deal.
Stayed in the cabins here for a golf weekend, great accommodations and easy access to the course. Course felt like it would have fit in with the Robert Trent Jones courses, well kept and nice layout.
Good golf course. Friendly, after talking to locals, it had not been maintained like in the past. I would return tho. I went in October and if you play there, bring gnat spray.
Nestling in a valley between two ridges of tree-covered hills, the up-market residential development of Limestone Springs can boast a championship golf course that is a delight from first to last. With unobtrusive villas skirting only a few holes, the course retains all the naturalness and tranquillity of this Appalachian foothills environment.
Just went to driving range..
They are currently re-doing all greens and some tee boxes.
Perfect views on every hole. The Greens are rolling great.most fun lay out course to play. Staff is the best. Highly recommended!!!! Don't pass it up.
Beautiful scenery and wonderful staff! Everyone is really nice and helpful and the course is very well laid out! Would recommend :)
"Limestone Springs has also been consistently rated 4 ½ stars by Golf Digest’s Places to Play, ranked in the top five public golf courses in Alabama by GolfWeek, and named to America’s Top Golf Courses by Zagat Survey"
One of my fav's, bunkers were sketchy the last time l played there. People are great and course layout is great.
Great layout, beautiful scenery... greens need some attention...staff was very professional and accommodating, breakfast was incredible....
Greens need to be mowed properly. To slow to take the breaks. Bring some bug spray.
Good little public golf course
Higher price golf course for the area, could be better kept.
Greens need some TLC
Rough area could be better kept
Bunkers need to be redone
A great layout with a friendly staff. They don't appear to have enough financial support to take care of it.
Beautiful layout but greens were slow.
Beautiful place and a fantastic course. Wonderful management and staff
Very well maintained and naturally pristine environment with an organic flow
Great course and course condition great !!
Beautiful, challenging, and had great time here.

This is hands down one of if not the best golf course in the entire state of Alabama.
