Reviews of Los Altos Golf Course and Banquet Facility
Great place to hit some balls with a beautiful view. I was from out of town on work in Albuquerque and needed to take a break. Los Altos provided me an oasis from work and gave me a much needed release. Good price and location.
Came here for a small party. This room was very nice! And the view was pretty. The helpers of the event were nice and helped out a ton!
Great food served up by the past owners of Charlie's Front Door
If you're in the mood for their Green Chile sour cream enchiladas you won't be disappointed.
Best New Mexican Food in town.
I am not a golfer by any means but it does appear to be a great place especially for families and beginner golfers. Some of the staff can be a little bit standoffish. But all in all not a bad course tons of cards and it looks like people really enjoy themselves here. It also looks fairly clean.
I'm a new golfer; I've only been playing once a week for the past three or four months. During that time I have been practicing driving at a few locations and have played the pitch & putt at Balloon Fiesta - until today. Today was the first Executive Nine that I've dared to play, and it was Los Altos. It came highly recommended for a beginner like myself, and I have to agree that it was the perfect place to play my first E9. The course was varied and tested me in several ways. I had a great time and felt like I got a real sense of what it means to play golf. The fairway was quality and the greens felt so much better than anywhere else I have been.
In the same way it was highly recommended to me as a new golfer, I offer the same high recommendation. Great fun.
Oh, and I should mention there was a non threatening coyote roaming the course. Odd but certainly unlike most golf courses in the world.
Great course, great condition. Easy to walk. Lots of trees, requires accurate tee shots, keep it in the fairway and shoot low, woe unto you if you venture into the woods, bogey and worse await.
Don't Hit a Ball Into the Group Ahead of You.
Excellent work by the grounds crew, professional staff, and, of course, the kitchen.
Los Altos is an old school course with large greens, mature trees, and a reputation as being easy, so post all your 72 scorecards on the map.
Colby and Matt are great to work with. I hosted a tournament there and it went very well due to their hard work. The course is in great shape. The food from the grill was very good.
Both of them took time to meet and answer any questions before the day of the event. I would highly recommend playing there.
The greens were just top seeded so it was a little rough but any day playing golf is a great one.
Great place for a quick 9 on the executive course and one of the better driving range tee boxes. This is where I took my first ever lesson 30ish years ago. Grass is beautiful this year, can't wait to play 18.
The course is in good shape and it wasn't overcrowded. I enjoyed the round and it was decently priced.
Staff was friendly and the course was a lot of fun. Course is shorter than the other city courses, but still challenging with a lot of doglegs. Long par 3s on the back 9. Course was in good condition and the greens were very good condition for a municipal course. I will definitely have to play there again.
The course is well maintained and offers moderately challenging level of play. A tent has been set up outside the cafe for dinning purposes. Masks are required in the building. If you want to play 9 holes, they will put you on the Executive course. A series of mostly three par holes; not very challenging.
Hadn't been here before but had a high school reunion here and the event room we had was perfectly set up and the banquet food was actually super delicious. Staff was very courteous and friendly. I wish there was a bigger selection of alcohol at the bar (1 white wine, 1 red, handful of beers) but I know that this is mostly a rec center so I don't expect them to have a full liquor license. Provided decorations were great and coffee was provided after the meal.
My son is attending a Golf Camp here in my aunt is a member. Very friendly stuff, using a parking lot to maneuver in and out. There's several different courses you can do and a nice driving range. Not too sure on prices and terms of rentals but it seems to be pretty decent from what my aunt's told me. Their children's camp is really awesome in my nine and a half field is really enjoying it. He's learning a lot about the history and all the ins and outs of faults and it was an inexpensive camp.
Course was in pretty good shape. Definitely some long grass and bumpy greens. Must have been punched recently. Especially hard to putt over 10ft with the ball bouncing left to right. Slow greens. In the morning the sand traps we too wet. Not very fun to hit out of mud. Slow pace of play. Took over 4.5 hours. I would play again but would go in the afternoon. Hopefully by then things would be dry and it wouldn’t be as slow.
For a municipal track, this one is pretty good. It's an easy walk, not difficult course, the greens have been in good shape the last few years. The pro staff leave a lot to be desired. The city sets the greens fees (WAY TOO HIGH for this course, wait for the PM rate at Twin Warriors, consistently top 3 courses in the state, for $40 with cart). The grille food is excellent authentic new mexican...but there's only one cook, so be prepared to really wait. DO NOT RELY ON THE BEVERAGE CART EVER, FOR ANYTHING, ON ANY DAY OF THE YEAR.
Course is in great condition. Very friendly marshal makes the rounds to keep things moving. We played the 18 hole course in the early am. Staff in the clubhouse are friendly.
Nice public golf course. They have been working hard to improve the greens and fairways. Pretty water features. Good for those who want a
Basic course layout with few challenging obstacles.
Great golf course. Well managed, maintained greens and fairways. You'll enjoy playing there. Great tasting food, refreshments. You'll have a really nice day at Los Altos worth every penny. Great day to be outdoors. I'd rather be driving a golf ball at Los Altos Golf course.
Could not have been more accommodating. Played with two locals and had 18 great holes. The friendliness of Albuquerque is amazing. Will be back.
could be improved but you get what you pay for by a City owned course. definitely thankful that there is NOT a $4500/yearly membership fee just to play.
Played 18 holes after a frost delay. Course was in pretty good shape. It was a good round of golf.
Awesome place to play golf...
Highly recommend ! Let's not forget to fix your divot marks on the greens.. A little consideration for all guests goes a long way !
Course was in great shape, greens were kinda fast and didn't break like they appeared but it was a good day none the less
Classic muni in Albuquerque. Operated by the Moya's and was my first time back in 6-7 years. Course in good shape and greens healthy. It was a pleasant surprise and enjoyed the day there.
Fun course, not alot of hazards. Played on Veterans day & got to play for free. Nice Pro shop, good selection on golf balls, average driving & putting range. Will play it again.
It's a beautiful golf course with well groomed grass and a great set of holes. Carts aren't disinfected as well as I would like, but they do appear to be hosed off at least.
Great place. The food is out standing. Wpuld definitely recommend the food! So so so good!
Had a great time! 3 birdies! Best game ever! Called my whole family!
Really fast greens. Great weather for January 😊 …
This course is fun and easy i really enjoy the whole facility from the executive 9 and practice areas to the people that treat you well.
Best food of all city courses and most resturants in the 505 area!!!!!
9 hole course is great for beginners. Course is well maintained, friendly staff. Can't wait to play full course!
My daughters wedding was during a monsoon. Didn't matter. The entire staff was ready to jump in and move the ceremony inside. Thank you staff for giving us a night to remember.
Good course for the price that’s for sure. Called to make a tee time and the guy said it’s wide open and hung up on me before I could ask about rates and such. Hopefully just a fluke thing
Has become my favorite golf course proximity being a large part of that but good price and the ability to get a tee time help.
Love to hit the range. Putting green, as well as 18 holes. Nice place. Good staff. 5 minutes from my house
Greens a little bumpy ,but over all pretty good ,plays slow on weekends ,great City course ,,recommended!
Charged my ev there
Great course! 👍🏽 Beautifully kept and really helpful and accommodating staff. My new regular course! …
I like the executive course, plus they have fair prices
Love this golf course, fun to play. Down side. The parking lot is too small for all the business they get. Good luck finding a parking spot.
I am a regular customer at the course. It is in good shape and I enjoy the courtesy of almost all the staff. The course is always fun to play.
Folks inside are really nice.🙂 Golf course is nice. It's a level course, but fun to play. Enjoy! …
One of the better public courses in town. Course is usually in good shape and is probably one of the more forgiving courses around for beginner and mid-level golfers.
Always nice, does anyone notice the golf pros are like bitter Musicians didnt make it so they take it out on customers , not all some are nice others not so much
Always a great place to hit 9 holes or practice your swing at the driving range.
The course was beautiful! What can I say. . . A bad day of golf beats a good day at work! However this was a good day of ⛳!
Quality municipal course not the most complicate layout but fun easy to get around and in good shape.
Cheap golf, nice staff, dry fairways
Nice city course. Short with greens that don't break too much. Well maintained. 4 or 5 tough holes.
Just at the driving range hit some long range had a good time out of the house
Good basic wide open course. Staff was friendly. Just off I-40, easy to locate from the highway.
Fun course. Not long but if your crooked off the tee get ready for a long day. Need local knowledge to read the greens.
Best City course in town. 18 or 9 holes of amazing views and challenging play. My personal favorite
The Executive 9 course is fun! It forces you to work on your short game.
Well maintained public course. 18 hole and 9 hole executive courses. Driving range, putting green and chipping green. Nice clubhouse with food and beverages.
The fairways are fresh and green. The greens are back to about 80% after aeration.
Nice Municipal course, front side plays a bit easier than the back, but all-in-all, a good experience!
- best city course. Grill has an amazing green chili cheese burger
Sunny afternoon on the driving range with my mom. Reasonable cost for a bucket of balls and clubs. Highly recommend!
Great staff, great grounds, great all around
Good golf course for a new golfer. I have been golfing for less than two years and this course is always calming and the staff are friendly and helpful.
Needs to be watered even in winter . But it is a great course.
Fantastic! Great food and atmosphere with a large screen to watch golf.
A hidden gem that offers beautiful banquet space for weddings and other social events and of course...golf - 18 holes at a reasonable rate..a nice restaurant and excellent staff.
It was great. Fun course. Forgot how fun golf is. Some beer, friends, and sunshine.
Great executive course if you don't have much time. The 18 is nice and fairly challenging.
Good city course. Fairly well kept grounds and worth the money to play here.
Classic Albuquerque course in convenient location. Always find personnel there are grumpy though.
Nice Muni challenging tho it doesn't look like it. Great place to play.
Good course to play, staff is friendly
Course is in great shape! Everyone being courteous and respectful of Covid-19 guidelines.

Nice public course, they have short 9 for working on short game. Great bloody marys too!
This place has amazing food. Better them Garcia's with a smaller menu. It's made from the heart.
Staff is very friendly and course is well kept. Favorite city course!
Used to play this course in the early 70’s. Wonderful memories here.
Executive 9 on this course is good. The small greens and narrow fairways are challenging.
Los Altos has a nice course, great weekday summer rates and a laid back atmosphere.
Can be busy and slow at times. The course itself is usually in good condition and challenging.
So far awesome!!! Good atmosphere, great food and I’m having fun! Thanks
Wonderful staff. Still my favorite 18 hole golf course.

BRILLIANT!!! I went to play yesterday afternoon about 2:15ish, I hadn't played a round in a dog's year and the weather being not that great; very windy, cloudy and cold. So I start my round and on hole number four, the first par three, I got my first hole-in-one EVER!! Even though the greens had been top dressed within the past few weeks and quite sandy and bumpy, not to bad, I had a great round of golf. Los Altos Golf Course is a top notch course, especially for walk-on golfers like myself.
This local golf course in Albuquerque N.M. Los Altos golf course, has been open to the public for many years and I have never had a bad experience there since I have been going . I am not a professional nor a enthusias golfer but I do like to go play the game of ⛳ from time to time. The times that I have been to Los Altos golf course has always been welcoming friendly staff, nice greens, great accommodations and most importantly affordable . I especially love the location just Wright off the freeway of I-40 and Eubank great side of town it has always had a great energy there I would Highly encourage and recommend the public and you beginner players to go visit LosAltos golf course, and support the sport of golf and especially the local golf course of this great city in Albuquerque New Mexico , it's a HOle in OnE... ⛳
Bob was very helpful squeezing in while a JR day was going on also the ball scooper guy on the driving range pulls up close so kids can hit the caged golf cart ball picker upper! Los Altos is a mint golf course
Challenging course.
Excellent to go play golf and have a good time
