Melisa is an exceptionally astute professional who had the experience and patience to guide us through six different plans as we prepared a wedding during the pandemic. She was always there to steer us in the right direction and was respectful of family traditions and the likes and dislikes of the bride and groom. Melisa is easy to work with, organized, and detail-oriented -- and she kept us on track with the many, many decisions that had to be made. Melisa also recommended excellent vendors and helped us negotiate for what we wanted and needed. On the night of the wedding, many of our guests told us how pleasant Melisa and her team were and how they helped things run very smoothly. It was a fantastic celebration and Melisa played a critical role. We would highly, highly recommend her.

Melisa, the owner, helped me with every step of the Bar Mitzvah planning process, from selecting vendors for decor, entertainment, food and to ironing out every last detail with them so nothing was overlooked. Melisa is wonderful to work with. She is extremely organized and clearly has a lot of experience planning big events. I was never worried that something was going to be missed or forgotten about, bc Melisa was on top of everything! I was blown away by the end product and will definitely be using her to plan my daughter's BM in a few years!

Melisa helped to plan our son's Bar Mitzvah three years ago, which was perfection. Melisa Imberman planned my daughter’s 2011 Bat Mitzvah and more recently she planned by son’s May 2018 Bar Mitzvah which was featured in last month’s Mitzvah Magazine. I will just highlight the latter event in this review. Melisa’s creative ability guided our journey through the planning process. She took our initial idea of a technology theme to create logo and artwork inspiring the look we desired. Using the logos we selected, the invitation was created to convey the look and feel the party would become. Melisa’s excellent relationships with the venue we wanted and her vast network of vetted professional vendors allowed us to receive the best people at the best prices thus saving us both time and money. These people worked seamlessly for catering, DJ and lighting, décor and entertainment which by everyone’s standards were a great success. What I like most about Melisa is a combination of her creativity and her organization skills keeping us both on time and on budget. Working with experienced creative people who are also professional and organized is rare in this industry where many people are just one or the other. If you have an upcoming event and need the best in the business don’t hesitate to hire Melisa and her company The Event of a Lifetime!

Melisa is the best party planner there is. We have used her for all three of our children’s mitzvahs, the last postponed due to Covid, and she hit it out the park all three times. I have several friends who change party planners after one event and I think it speaks volumes about Melisa that we used her for all 3 of our kids. As the coronavirus pandemic derailed our much anticipated celebration (lockdown occurred 3 weeks prior), she was proactive with alternative arrangements. We used Melissa at the last minute to pull together a wedding in 4 weeks! She was great and so organized. She had venders lined up within 2 days. She bought creative ideas to us that we had never considered. Her ability to embrace the Covid environment and still deliver an incredible wedding experience was extraordinary. Vendors were top notch across the board. She added live musicians to a DJ which made such a difference! The flowers were spectacular and so unique. Even my mother in law commented how beautiful and different they were. She and her assistant Maura were committed to the wedding day and handled all those things that came up. It was great to be able to just enjoy the day with family. Everyone had such fun for a small family wedding. At the end of the weekend the best review was from the bride and groom who said it was a perfect wedding event and they were so happy to have had the wedding!

The Event of a Lifetime helped me plan my son's backyard Bar Mitzvah. COVID changed our plans drastically, and Melissa and her team made our day and night time party truly amazing. From the first call I had with Melissa to the final day of set up, she made everything run as smoothly as possible and made sure I was adhering to all the COVID guidelines. She referred me vendors to use that were reasonably priced and all showed up and did exactly what they said they would. She problem solved a major issue with the tent for me the day before the party and even up to the start of the party, allowing me not to worry! I can only say great things about The Event of A Lifetime. Thank you to Melissa and her team for their guidance and support throughout the party planning!!! I would recommend them to all.

We’ve had Melisa’s help with 2 Bat Mitzvahs, 10 years apart… and we’d want Melisa’s help for every event we host in the future… she’s incredible! 3 things: (1) She’s an amazing organizer, making sure that we’re getting the best service at the best price from all of the vendors, and then coordinating their activity. (2) She’s a magical problem-solver, seeming to have found and implemented solutions before we even realized there was problem. From small hiccups (like, the cake delivery van being rear-ended just before reaching our site) to bigger hurdles (like, NYC inspectors shutting down a site just weeks before the event, or a pandemic requiring constant re-thinking of every aspect of a party)… she handles it all; it’s astounding. (3) As importantly, Melisa really listens to how our daughter and we describe hopes for the day, thinks about what we’re “really” saying (even if we don’t realize), and develops a vision that realizes all of that with so much more creativity than we could possibly bring to this ourselves. She’s essential; having her involved allow us to enjoy the day and the time leading up to it, without the headaches and hassles, with the confidence that any unexpected trouble will be resolved, and with memories of an event that will last a lifetime. We couldn’t be more enthusiastic or grateful.

Melissa, I can’t thank you enough for helping me pull this all together. It was not an easy event and I so appreciated your support and knowledge. We are definitely in a more difficult planning and execution stage than we have ever had to deal with before. Yesterday I had a quiet moment to think and I was so happy how the day turned out. The weather was better than expected. The food was delicious. The tent held up. The bathroom trailer, pizza truck and ice cream cart fit in my backyard.
