If you’re looking for an all-inclusive wedding venue, this is your sign to stop searching now and book with the Franklin of Soulard! This was the first venue we toured when we first got engaged and every single venue after that just didn’t compare. The venue is beautiful and historic, and has been updated with new paint, chandeliers, flooring, getting ready suite, etc. The food was delicious! We had so many compliments on it…everyone kept asking who catered it and we were so thrilled to be able to tell everyone it was provided in house! The staff was professional, friendly, and so quick to get things done…we had our room flipped between the ceremony and reception in minutes! All of that would have made for a good wedding, but what truly made it the perfect day was the owners, Christina and Daniel! They are so passionate about what they do and we truly felt like they cared about us and our wedding day. They’re so organized and helped us through every step of the planning process and made sure that our wedding day went exactly to plan. I can’t say enough good things about Christina and Daniel and I cannot wait to see what they continue to do with the Franklin of Soulard!

Where to begin with the Franklin of Soulard?! We held our company's anniversary party at the Franklin and couldn't have had a better experience from start to finish. The room is incredible, the food delicious and the people - oh my gosh, the people who run the events here are THE BEST! We originally chose this venue because of the owners and they only got better through planning and event. They listened to us, were so accommodating, helped us with everything we needed and were completely flexible throughout the experience. The entire staff the night of the event felt like part of the family! They worked so hard and were so fun and supportive of our crazy theme - an '80s Prom! We look forward to our next event at the Franklin of Soulard! If you have an important event coming up - run, don't walk into the Franklin.

Book with the Franklin of Soulard now!!!! In June of 2021 I was the sixth bride to sign with the new venue owners, Christina and Dan, and I was NOT disappointed. Watching them turn The Franklin Room into what stands today was nothing short of "an act of love". They naturals, our wedding was perfect. The service was spectacular and the venue was beautiful! I really was able to have the wedding of my dreams at The Franklin Room and you can too! Congrats on the Knots Wedding Venue of 2022, you truly deserve it!!!!

My fiancee and I recently toured The Franklin of Soulard early in our wedding venue search and they set the bar so high! The space itself is stunning and a great “all in one” venue. It can accommodate medium to large guest counts with plenty of floorspace and personalized layout customization to meet your style and needs - including ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner, and dancing. The bridal suite was one the special touch highlights. The space contains a breathtaking mirror and is comfortable and roomy enough to truly embrace the day with your girls! As if the space itself didn’t make us swoon over the venue, I have never interacted with more genuine and accommodating owners/coordinators. Christina and Daniel personally gave us the venue tour and it was easy to see their passion for their line of work, but never once did it feel like they were trying to sell their space to us, they genuinely want to help couples host the most important day of their lives. Communication was timely and thorough from the very first email. All around, The Franklin of Soulard, is an up and coming St. Louis wedding gem with historical charm and a modern flare all wrapped into one.

Christina and Dan were amazing to work with. My wedding was more beautiful than I could have imagined, and it was because of the effort those two and their team put into the event. The venue looked gorgeous, and everyone was impressed with all the updates they have made since becoming owners. When we toured The Franklin, they had just started the renovation process & we were still blown away because Christina & Daniel made us feel like family right away! We had toured multiple venues after our tour with them & none of them wowed us the way this venue did. From the decor, the staff, the food, the hospitality, to the overall atmosphere, everything was PERFECT!!! All of our guests were raving about the space all night and even now & we got married almost a month ago lol Christina & Daniel were available to answer all of our questions, give us their professional and personal advice to help our big day run smoothly. If you are looking for a space that makes you feel at home, while also passing the vibe check, The Franklin & their team is the right pick for you! Brides, the bridal suite is ABSOLUTELY STUNNING!!! You will get great getting ready pictures! We are super grateful for them & extremely happy that we chose them to be apart of our big day! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ Everything was perfect from the initial tour to the big day! Everything related to the planning and execution of my daughter’s wedding was exceptional. Since we live out of state, it was very reassuring to have Christina working through all of the details with my daughter. She and Danny went above and beyond throughout the planning, preparation, and execution of the event. They were always approachable when we had questions and helped keep things fun when they sensed we were getting overwhelmed by the details. The venue is beautifully renovated and has an awesome vibe. The food was great and service was excellent. Both my daughter and her husband say they had the wedding of their dreams! What more can you ask for? The Franklin of Soulard is the perfect venue for any event! The owners are the kindest, most genuine, most welcoming, and easiest people to work with! They went far above and beyond for our event (a baptism celebration) to make it an absolutely perfect day, getting every detail spot on. They are also amazing communicators which is not always eay to find! Oh and the food- YUM! We still have people raving about it! THE PERFECT VENUE! The Franklin of Soulard has it all – beautiful space, great staff, and delicious food. Christina and Daniel were easy to work with from start to finish – her attention to detail and organization did not go unnoticed. The bar and wait staff were friendly and efficient. Our wedding was absolutely perfect! Working up to the wedding was seamless and stress-free. From the food tasting to the decorating, everything was easy. The girls used the bridal suite to get ready so they were already downtown for pictures and the space was amazing. They really had everything we needed. Finally the reception was... Perfect. It's really the only word I can think of. We got so many compliments on everything -the space, the dance floor, the food (even the vegetarian dishes - which if you've ever gotten subpar vegetarian wedding food you know what's a big deal). Cannot thank Christina and Danny enough! It was everything we could have wanted. Going with the Franklin was one of our best decisions of our wedding.

We cannot recommend The Franklin of Soulard enough! Christina and Daniel have totally transformed this venue into such a beautiful, modern, classic space that is perfect for any theme or decor inspiration. They went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed to make our day perfect - and it was! 100% RECOMMEND! This is so hard to write a review, because there is just so much greatness about The Franklin of Soulard and working with Christina and Daniel that I don’t even know if words could fully describe our experience, nor could I share everything that made this day the best. Christina and Daniel went above and beyond to ensure our wedding was Magical and everything was exactly how we wanted. My husband and I had a vision for Disney Inspired wedding and that included a Dole Whip specialty cocktail. No hesitation on their end, they made sure we had it and even helped with obtaining the right machine for this drink. Christina and Daniel were very responsive to all texts, calls and emails. Coordinating between them and our other vendors was smooth and flexible. When my florist left without fixing the head table, Christina and my mother in law stepped in and set up the head table correctly without any hesitations. Not only was it a pleasure working with Christina and Daniel, but their staff were super friendly and made sure our guests had the best time! Cate, their Event and Communications Manager made sure that my husband and myself had everything we needed. She even got us a drink when we were too busy trying to eat our dinner to move onto the next scheduled item. Cate is super sweet and has a pleasure to work with. The food is to die for and during our tasting everything was explained and customizable. During the tasting the sauce for the beef was not what we were expecting, however we voiced our opinions and they listened. During the final details meeting, they made sure the share the new sauce for the beef, which was 1,000% delicious and shared what the Mickey shaped waffles will look and taste like. Leaving that meeting we felt super confident about our big day that was only a few weeks away. Lastly, the venue itself is STUNNING. Christina and Daniel have updated it but still kept its charm. They have a great eye for detail and made this already beautiful venue stand out even more than it originally did. If I can leave this review with any advice to brides and grooms looking for a place, I say BOOK IT! You will not be disappointed.

I can't even begin to put into words how truly amazing our experience with Christina, Danny, & the Franklin of Soulard was! The venue itself is incredibly beautiful and something of dreams. It is so unique and memorable! Christina is such a thoughtful, organized, and kind person to work with. She was incredibly detail-oriented and made sure everything was perfect! She thought of things we would have never imagined to plan and made sure the space was available to us to set it up to our every desire. We honestly felt like we were the only event they were hosting all year, they put THAT much effort into every step of our planning. The food was delicious and Danny & his staff made sure every meal was perfect! The bartenders helped accommodate our crazy signature drink (The Yellowhammer, as I am a Bama grad!) & went above & beyond to make sure no one's cup was empty all night. We absolutely cherished working with this amazing couple & their employees & are sad it's over, but can't wait to cross paths again (hopefully at future events held here!)

A gorgeous and classy venue with a 1920’s-mid century vibe. Very well maintained and run efficiently, the Franklin provides all the facilities needed for an enjoyable event. It was really nice to see owner Christina on the floor, present and actively managing the operation. As a local wedding vendor, I can say this is a favorite STL venue. I hope to be back soon!

Not only is this a gorgeous venue, Michele and Doug are so friendly and flexible. Knowing how easy they were to work with and that they would make our wedding day special was one of the main reasons we decided on the Franklin Room. The food at our reception was even better than we could have expected! We had roast beef and chicken picatta and both were delicious. When selecting beer they had really good local beer options which we loved. Be sure to ask Michele about what decor you can rent from them. LOVED MY WEDDING RECEPTION! I absolutely LOVED working with Christina and the Franklin Room. It was the perfect classy city wedding that I wanted!!! This is truly a hidden gem, especially since they renovated. They have parking/catering/full bar/complimentary champagne toast, ALL for an affordable price. Also, Christina and Danny aren't like other reception hall providers who up-charge for the most minute details. Wish I could relive the day!!!

I recently hosted an anniversary celebration for my company at The Franklin Room and cannot recommend the team and this venue enough. Our event was unique - 80s prom themed - so we had lots of ideas for how to bring this to life for an unforgettable night. The team there was so helpful throughout the whole planning process. As the mother of the bride , I really wish I could give this review 10 stars. I don’t want to write a book (which I could) but I don’t want to leave anything out either so I will try and make it straight to the point. We are a very particular family and we had very particular ideas in mind. Seven months before the wedding we actually switched from a venue we had booked in Clayton to this newly renovated, classy, Franklin of Soulard and that switch could not have been a bigger blessing. If you want a venue that has history, character and charm… If you want your venue to be uniquely different from a barn, hotel, or hall… If you want a venue that you can make as intimate or as grandiose as you would like… If you want a venue who’s owners (Christina & Danny) go above and beyond to make your day special…. If you want a venue who’s owners are EXPERIENCED and ORGANIZED…. 🙌🏼 If you want a venue where you do not need to rush and decorate only hours before your big day…. If you want a venue where the food is actually Deeelicious… If you want a venue that can literally serve all of your needs from the rehearsal dinner to the ceremony, the cocktail hour to the dinner and reception and want to be confident that everything will come off without a hitch so that you can enjoy one of the biggest days of your life THIS IS YOUR VENUE!!! Whatever your dreams are (and your budget) I guarantee Christina and Danny will do whatever is in their power to help make them come true and then you also will become on a first name basis with them. This place was a blessing to our family, indeed!

She was insanely responsive and collaborative through the whole process. We had our wedding reception here. The food and desserts were fantastic (we opted for the buffet), and the owners were super nice. The room looked classy with 25 tables and blue uplighting, and had a big big dance floor to accommodate lots of fun. Many guests specifically commented to us on the tasty dinner and desserts! Plus the price of the reception was just right, not exorbitant like many other St. Louis wedding venues. We used the recommended DJ, TKO, who was pretty much exactly what you would want in a DJ. Highly recommended for wedding receptions.

I have had the opportunity to work with Michele and Doug Swaney over the last several years on many weddings and events. They are genuinely the nicest people in the wedding and event industry. The Franklin Room is a true historic piece of St. Louis History. The event staff is courteous, well groomed, and go above and beyond at every event. Doug also brings his strong experience of culinary delight to every wedding. The food is absolutely amazing at every event. Price - I honestly think they do not charge enough. Yep I said it! (Dont raise the prices until after I get married Michele!!) My husband and I had our wedding reception here in May of 2013 and it was absolutely perfect. Michele and Doug went above and beyond to make everything wonderful. The atmosphere was classy and beautiful and we got so many compliments from our guests on the room, food, service and the entire evening. It's also important to note, that any negative reviews you may find online were most likely of the previous ownership. Also, don't be scared off by the older website. If you are looking for a fun, beautiful and very fairly-priced wedding venue, look no further. We got married at St. Peter and Paul Catholic church across the street and I can't say enough about that wonderful parish. We had a beautiful ceremony led by Fr. Bruce Forman and some of our guests said it was the most intimate and enjoyable wedding ceremony they've ever been to. Our friends really appreciate the reception being right in Soulard so they could enjoy the area in between the ceremony and reception. After pictures, we went to Molly's to meet everyone and just walked over when the reception began. I highly recommend this place to any future bride who is looking for a very helpful and supportive staff at the venue. Michele was amazing the entire week before and was there for anything I needed. She also had great ideas for decorating. The room is so impressive itself that you hardly need much to make it shine, but it looks particularly gorgeous with some soft lighting. We just celebrated our year anniversary and wanted to send Michele and Doug our best wishes for continued success!

Let me start by saying that our wedding isn't until August. That said, I feel like I owe it to the Swaney's to post this now. We booked with them in November of 2011, then started reading reviews.... This happened because we were so swept away by the venue and the reasonable price that we didn't want to lose our day. I'm so very glad it happened that way, otherwise we might have not booked with them. (paragraph) There are many negative reviews out there regarding The Franklin Room, but I want to put your mind at ease if you're considering booking. The negative reviews are not in response to the services provided by the current owners Michelle and Doug Swaney, but towards the former owners. (paragraph) We toured 20+ places to find our reception venue - let me tell you a little about The Franklin Room. First, the place is amazing. It's a historical building (world's fair historical), with 30 ft ceilings, completely wooden floors (can you say HUGE dance floor), it has a stage for the DJ, and it's simply beautiful. We actually changed our date, it was that nice. (paragraph) That said, you'd expect the price to be high, especially for the area, right? Wrong! They were far more reasonable than 90% of the places we visited. We're paying for most of this wedding ourselves, so we were looking for a "best bang for your buck" kinda place, we found it, without a doubt. They have several options and price ranges, but their level 1 buffet will please most people, and the price is right (call Bob Barker.. he'll tell you). (paragraph) Now, about the Swaneys. Michelle has been extremely accommodating. There were several "would it be possible to" questions we had, and "yes" has been the answer every time. They were the only proprietors to request we come for dinner, instead of us having to request a tasting. Which, of course, leads me to the food. (paragraph) We just had our tasting, and it was delicious. We tasted roast beef (it was cooked correctly, not surprisingly), chicken with 3 different sauces, several different vegetables, mostaccioli, and a simple salad. I was using this tasting as a two-part decision. First, was the food good... YES! Second, should we upgrade to the level 2 buffet (carved prime rib, etc). No need, even though the price difference is only $4 per person (read as extremely reasonable). If money wasn't an issue we might have, but we agreed it was far better than what we expected for the price. (paragraph) Michelle is extremely responsive, and accommodating. Her husband (the cook) makes food that is impeccable. They've been available everytime we needed something, whether by email or by phone. So far, everything has been extremely stress free when working with them. I'll update this thread once our wedding is over, but I am positive I'll have nothing but good things to say. There's a reason I'm writing this review now, they deserve the business. (paragraph) Best of luck in your search. Make sure you include The Franklin Room in your list of possible venues. I am sure you won't be disappointed. Update: Had the wedding last night. It was an awesome party! Everyone kept mentioning how great everything was. The food, the venue, the food.... We felt Michelle and Doug were great to work with from start to finish. The food was amazing. Definitely one of the nicest weddings we've ever been to, and so glad it was ours! We couldn't have asked for anything more.. really. Thank you again Michelle and Doug!!

The Franklin Room, is in connection with Peter and Paul's. Which is a non-for-profit organization. Which strive to help the homeless, and those in need. Whether it be the case of housing, temporary shelter, food, clothing. Help with utilities are rental assistance. At this location hot meals are served 7 days a week. Every evening from 5 to 6 p.m.. this location serves hot meals every evening from the 1st to the 20th of each month. These are only some of the interesting things that happened at the Franklin Room! I found it very intriguing, anytime I can give back to the community. Volunteers are always welcomed! This is spoused by, different organizations and churches. There are also supermarkets, whom contribute.

My son just had his wedding reception at the Franklin Room. I had not had a chance to visit before the reception so did not know what to expect other than the fact that this room was a piece of St. Louis History. The history and beauty of the room filled my senses as I walked in. Michelle (organizer/co-owner-wife) had taken our decorations and flowers and beautifully placed them around the room, in the restrooms, on the cake table, on the candy table, etc. to create a stunning atmosphere. I was in total awe. Doug (chef/co-owner-husband) prepared and amazing dinner/feast. The staff was very attentive, polite and friendly. They opened doors as you approached, whether entering or exiting, valet park your vehicle, and meet your every need. They also clean up after your affair, repackage your items (saving any boxes/containers) you may have brought them in and have them ready for you when you pick them up. We received so many compliments on the room and the food I can't begin to thank Michell and Doug enough. They make you feel like family. I was able to fully enjoy the special evening I was there for without any worries or concerns about my family or friends. I would highly recommend this venue to anyone. Corporate office had our Holiday luncheon at The Franklin and it was outstanding. Food was delicious with full bar service. Owners and staff are so friendly. Highly recommend for an event!
