Reviews of Town Hall Seattle
Arydanika
Great community venue that host frequent talks on arts, tech, social issues, and more. I've seen some amazing people speak here. They have a nice small bar if you'd like to have a drink during the talk. Get to your event early as the parking is pretty tight in the area. A thought-provoking experience every time I go. Also, get a membership!
Erin K
Nice venue with an upscale agile feel. Perfect for a Sunday afternoon but there are many events to chose from. The acoustics are amazing! We enjoyed our well spent time there with the Seattle Metropolitan chamber Orchestra. Phenomenal!
Alison
We had never been here before which is kind of crazy given we live so close but we finally went for an event and found it to be so lovely! We will certainly check the calendar & return often. The space is completely renovated & modern, with pews (with seat cushions) in a semi-circular configuration so you have great proximity to the stage from nearly everywhere. There was a rack for coats & a small concession window that had 2 wines, a beer, non-alcoholic beverages & some snacks. The employees were warm & welcoming. It was a nice evening.
Aaron Wheeler
Go to something here! There’s hundreds of well-curated events every year at incredible prices. A welcoming and sorely needed community gem. Big thanks to the team and members for sustaining such a great place.
Raney Newman
Classic, newly renovated building and beautiful stained glass. Inexpensive, thought-provoking speakers! Tasty snacks and drinks at downstairs cafe, where you can also read at tables and chairs in the large in-house library. Venue for a host of arts and music events that are more expensive but worth it! Love this place of exciting discussions and making new friends in the process.
MaryAnn Bolte
Completely renovated inside and is beautiful. Attended the Slack Key Guitar festival. The only problem was parking. With so many streets having blocked access for parking, I'd recommend a lot close by if you can find one.
Ashley Williams
What a great location for an event. It felt so intimate even though there wasn't an empty seat! The facilities were nice and parking around the area was super easy. Will be checking out future events here for sure!
Brian Potter
The venue itself is quite nice, and has good acoustics. I would give it four stars but getting there is a major hassle. It's about as far as it could be from the two nearest light rail stations. Driving in from out of town there was no parking withing two blocks, all of the lots Google shows are reserved. We ended up parking in the Convention Center garage, and then walking through a park with people smoking crack, dead rats on the sidewalk, a broken elevator call panel, and very bad lighting. If it weren't for a very helpful park security officer we would have had to walk in a busy road in the dark to find out way back. Sorry, Town Hall Seattle, but I will not be back.
Laura McLeod
Town Hall is an exceptional venue that hosts some of the best arts and literary events available. So often thought provoking, intriguing, and sometimes entertaining, this community supported organization is a force for good in the world.
Jon Pryor
(Not going to say where I parked!) Great venue. The band I saw - Scenes- was in the lounge, not the main auditorium. Incredible show. The staff were outstanding! An all around great night.
Christine Chilaka
Came here for the Death and Music event. A beautiful venue with fantastic acoustics. Seats quite a bit of people but still somehow feels intimate.
Sharon Fisher
Enjoyed a wonderful concert by the Pacific NW Girl Choirs. Parking on the street provided for a good walk!
Winthrop B (Win)
Truly wonderful venue to see a Seattle Arts and Lectures speaker or anyone else for that matter. Wonderful place and experience!
Cliffard Lemieux
Great casual venue for lectures and music. I have been here many times and always have a great time.
Kay Gearllach
Beautiful building acoustics are fantastic. Everyone seemed to be having a great time!
Lyz Kurnitz-Thurlow
Says You was back with a performance for their old Seattle -Area fans!
Beckman Family
Really lovely venue since remodel.
Jeffrey Sherrill
Beautiful venue. Great place for a lecture.
Paul Secord
For the price we paid, a photo op with the author and complimentary book wouldn't be out of line.
Kate McPhail
Great venue! Attended a Grand Slam MOTH event and loved it!
Gi D
Beautifully renovated space. Lovely all gender, large, but private stalled bathroom. Great lighting and sound.
Stacy Frazer
Great venue. Beautiful stained glass windows. Was perfect for seeing Lore podcast live. My only real criticism is pews for seating, very uncomfortable.
Helen Ell Tran
We watched a presenter here and it was a great building and atmosphere.
Fes N.
Wow! The remodel is amazing! The entire venue is even more spectacular than before.
Terry Barksdale
Easily a great experience. This is the small auditorium. Events generally last about an hour and a half or an hour. I could do without the land acknowledgment and I always want to say well if we're on the tribal people's land why don't we give it back. I guess creeping wokeism is just something we have to live with. The spectrum of political opinion is pretty contracted towards the progressive and I wish they would have an actual range of broader allowable opinion and debate. Reasonable pricing to get in. I saw Al Franken there before he got canceled. All in all a great civic institution and the remodel is splendid.
Kristi Robison
Beautiful venue. Great Hall has church pew seating curved around the stage. Great sound and beautiful stained glass windows and skylight.
V Hilby
The space is lovely and the sound carries pretty well (for music, I imagine for speakers as well). There are a variety of seating options available. The only downside to this is that the current location has some construction going on, so things are a bit messy looking on the outside.
Kuni Alki
Recent remodel kept the beautiful historical look yet improved structural stability as well. Will always look forward to events here.
Lisa Johnson
Beautiful building, close to parking. The acoustics are great, the Puget Sound Symphony and Orchestra concerts we attend here are amazing!
Ellany Kayce
Great place for community events. All-gender bathrooms, good sound system, and set-up with drinks.
Terri Smith
Great acoustics. Nice venue.
Barbara Peete
Wonderful event 👏 ❤️
Tribute to Ernestine Anderson …
Chad Bramwell
Newly renovated, had a great experience listening to the Puget Sound Symphony Orchestra! Small concession stand. Lots of single person private bathrooms.
Gary Samson
I've been to Town Hall Seattle for many events now and since they re-opened after the remodel, it is even better. As an event space, this beautiful old building is unique and amazing. The seating is very pew like with new, comfortable cushions. The fresh paint and vintage stained glass windows and atrium are equally beautiful. The sound system is more than adequate too.
nancy tuksaudom
A positively gorgeous venue for entertainment and thought-provoking lectures, etc. A real treasure for Seattle‼️
Donna Rollen
Recently renovated, disappointed with access to parking. Duke Ellington Sacred Heart music concert was outstanding with SJRO and fabulous Dee Daniels
Michelle Crumpler
Love this venue and that live music has returned.
Susan Carlisle
This is a great venue, not too large and very nice acoustics. The only thing I'm not crazy about are the pews.
Bruce Warshaw
The newly renovated hall is beautiful. The acoustics are quite good. We just attended the Puget Sound Symphony Orchestra's first concert in the reopened Town Hall. They were great.
Emi H
Clean facility with ample seating, and easy to see the stage from the back row.
John Wall
Excellent auditorium for live music.
Jeremy G
I've been to a couple of book signing events here. The recent remodel makes the space feel clean and cozy and the staff do an excellent job of directing people and keeping lines moving. Love attending events here!
Steve Shaiman
Great acoustics. Great sight lines
Sarah LaCombe
lovely venue with a variety of educational events from across disciplines. I love the "feel" of it, with it's wooden church pews and well let stage, which fits perfectly with any of these events. typically beer wine coffee and snacks are available for a reasonable price
Cheyenne Gillooly
The remodel looks amazing from the outside ! Can’t wait to attend the new events.
Jaclyn Reynolds
Gorgeous building. Came here for a Jeffrey Robinson talk... Rows are cozy (the pews are padded, so they get upgraded from "cramped" because they're nice to sit on for 2 hrs) and the architecture is beautiful. Seattle Rotary has a nice setup .
Nigel Lawrence
Attended a Storytelling event here. The program was lovely. Our event was downstairs in the smaller venue. We followed the signs to the back of the building. Staff was friendly and helped us find our way. Everything was great.
Yield to the King Ministry
I love the Town Hall. Beautiful and spacious facility. Comfortable seating. Clean bathrooms.
Alison Holcomb
Town Hall offers high quality, affordable education and entertainment opportunities across a wide range of local, national, and global arts, culture, politics, and current events. It has been beautifully restored, and the open space with bench seating maintains the feeling of an typical town hall venue. Town Hall is centrally located just across I-5 from dowtown.
MIchael (The Mikes)
We are fortunate to have such an organization for the airing of ideas. It provides for an intimate encounter with prominent thinkers.
Amanda O
Beautiful restoration of Town Hall's historic building. Excellent acoustics for speakers and musicians. Very comfortable seating orientation. A great venue overall.
Cynthia Dunn
Parking was a pain
Josie and company were great
Nik Jensen
Not a bad start in the house. Good acoustics. Inexpensive. They bring in the people you want to hear speak! Nice large part to park lot next door too.
Chris Overdorf, ASLA PLA
One of Seattle's great treasures that is almost finished with a major renovation. Got a tour today and the upgrades are substantial (new bathrooms, new HVAC systems, new A/V, elevator, and other performance areas). Yet, the history of structure was preserved with great care. Looking forward to the many events this gem will hold in the future.
Mary Williams (Ms. N'drstnd)
Fabulous night with Ijioma Oluwo at Town Hall. Unity event put on by rhe Office of Civil Rights. Awards for 3 community leaders. Super chill event, wonderful appetizers before performances by Josephine Howell and others. Super chill inclusive and welcoming environment...and it was noticeably different as I have been to many events there. Remodel looks great too. Still ongoing construction on the outside so parking was a bit of a challenge.
S Bee
Accessibility is great except for uneven lighting and heavy doors. It's got a chair lift for interior stairs. Scheduling interpreters for an event was a breeze. Coffee counter is wheelchair accessible.
Alan Kahn
A great place to experience Democracy or see a show. Despite its size, it feels intimate.
Andrew Kritovich
Good place to be on top of nowadays situations in the community or choose your are of interest from many presentations and event they have there. Parking may be an issue as anywhere else in Seattle. Arrive earlier if the event is scheduled during the busy hours.
Keith Beesley
In the Great Hall (upstairs), great acoustics for music or spoken-word, but hard benches. Bring your own own cushion or pillow if you have any back pain, or just don't like hard seats.
Khalid Shirzai
Arts & Culture. Town Hall's Arts & Culture series elevates the voices of local artists while bringing world-renowned cultural icons to Seattle audiences.
Manuel Perez Bolivar
I attended a standup act last night and could verify that the renovations are coming along very nicely. The venue has great sound and stage lights.
Kent Schluter
This place after a nearly complete renovation is a treasure for Seattle. Amazing work performed by RAFN Co. Seattle will have a 1st Class small events center! Beautiful Building!
Tim Dawes
Gorgeous decor. Big open seating. But benches instead of seats so it's a bit hard to tell how many you can get in a row or whether there's still any seating left.
Noah Wang
Attended Northeastern's graduation ceremony at Town Hall, love this place.
CJ Livingston
The talks are usually author talks, so the speaker has deeply researched specific subjects. Interesting, inexpensive, located near a light-rail station, restaurants, and a unique park. What's not to love?
Jesús S
I hope with all the changes in Seattle this place stays the way it is. The talks and performances here are some of the most interesting, most affordable program in all of Seattle. This city needs a place like this more than ever and I hope it will be around for a long time.
Ryan Kitchen
800+ seats but feels intimate. Church-like ambiance. Very tech savvy and helpful staff. I've attended NSAW and talks here, if you are in the way back it may be tough to see.
Mary Adams
A friend and myself viewed a documentary on Maria Tallchief a Native American ballerina to be a prima ballerina. It was a full house. You can see some videos of her on youtube. The producers are trying to educate the public on well known female Native American women other than Pocahantas and Sacajawea, which are told inaccurately. This facility allowed this film to be shown there.
Kent S Godfrey
I called to ask if I could return one of the two tickets that I had bought for an event. The person on the phone told me that someone would call me back later. The next day I got a message saying that both of my tickets had been refunded. When I called back they gave me a ticket for free. So, I came away pretty happy.
Sarah Cooley
Great place to listen to interesting speakers. They also added a mini bar with tea coffee wine beer and some other refreshments recently.
Dennis SHULAR
No accommodations for charter bus parking. Typical big city planning.
Carrie Campbell
The new renovation is beautiful. Town Hall staff are terrific hosts and the opportunities there are imperative and a high value to Seattle.
Theresa Thomas

Chelsea Palmer
Not that Town Hall was bad before, but with the remodel it’s absolutely gorgeous. Town Hall also has a killer season this year that everyone should check out.
Warren Johnson
Great setup and content. Bar could be better, but is brand new. Nice if they did simple meals
Phyllis Moore-Shelby
Was here for a concert. Wonderful location. Large venue, yet it felt intimate. Didnt see parking.
Anna Van Brookhoven
Used to be an old Christian science church. It's a bit stodgy but the talks are interesting. Plus it's cheap- $5 per person. They also serve alcohol and snacks but it's a cash bar only.
Bridget Quigg
For $5 you can get your mind blown by smart-smart people almost any night of the week. Seattle, this is a gem beyond any other. We are so lucky to have Town Hall.
Art B
Great venue for topical presentations.

The Town Hall which was originally called The Fourth Church of Christ, Scientist opened in 1916 and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2013.
Matthieu Bourgois
Beautiful space. Great acoustics. Intimate performances
Will Scott
Good space. 2-3 stars on free events, because the audience will ask inane questions, a much better experience for paid talks, which will draw a more focused crowd.
R Campeau
Great lineup of very affordable talks, interviews and concerts in the newly remodeled space with improved sound system.
Stanley Brooks
Great venue and newly remodeled. Parking is a bit dicey so it pays to carpool and go early.
