Reviews of Utah State Fairpark
Kathy M.
First time visiting the Utah State Fair. Because it is located in downtown Salt Lake, I was concerned parking would be an issue. Instead, there was a dedicated parking lot, close by for a fee, with plenty of parking. Tickets can be purchased online or at the entrance. We purchased ours there, and the line was quick. Once inside, there are many food booths, vendor tents, a large variety of rides and attractions, 4H displays and the animal barns! They have rodeos and concerts as well. The park was clean, and they provide hand washing stations all throughout the park (the stations were also very clean). We went on a Saturday during the day, and it was busy, but not so crowded you couldn’t enjoy everything. It was a very enjoyable visit!

The state fair is literally one of the most fun places. I've gone every year since I was a kid and it's never lost its magic. Went on a Sunday morning this year and it didn't get crowded until around 1. All of the employees are so nice- food service to animal keepers to ride operators, they all seem to care and be having fun and that adds to the magic.
Dani Buntin
The food is great. Try the hot beef sundae, it's really freaking good. The funnel cake was good and so was the elotes. The lines for rides at the fair on the last Friday were pretty long and it made it hard to really get to ride anything but it was still fun.
Carol Tran Slawson
The Utah State Fair was excellent! The facilities at the fair grounds are clean and spacious. The outside grounds have enough trees to provide shade (hint, hint barren death bowl that is Lehi Thanksgiving Point). I enjoyed all the offerings, from 4H projects and livestock showings, to arts and crafts. The food offerings were delicious, the Thomas Bros rides were exhilarating, and the lines were very reasonable. Overall, it was great.

I haven't been to the Fair since I was a little kid and it fully exceeded the expectations I had! We played overpriced games, ate a ton of delicious fatty food and tried our luck on the wheel of death 😅 the venue, with how they had everything placed, seemed organized enough-- although they need some more shaded seating areas to eat! Like why is the smoker section the only place where that's offered?!
Bryan Bassett
We love the fair. Its a great tradition for our family. We see the farm animals, learn about farming, see the art and homemaking crafts. Ride the bug yellow slide and get some fun snacks!!
Rob3rt D3an
I've come here for a lot of events and I'm usually having a good time. The walk/driveways are well maintained and easily walkable just bring some good shoes if your going to be walking a lot. The buildings are well maintained and most have good ac and water stations. Fun place to go for an event.
Crimson Fox
So much fun every year ❣️ they never seems to change much. Always all the same great rides delicious fair foods ❣️ games, art, animals. Fantastic time 😁 Thanks for always being fun❣️ …
R
We went right at 10 on the first day and a lot of the rides didn't start until after noon. We were on a day trip up from Dugway, so it was nice to get out and walk around, but very expensive. We liked the animals the most.
Sione Taukinukufili
State Fair gets busy later in the day. Lines went from a 10 min wait to over 45 on average. Prices on everything went up. A lot more local vendors this year.
A Yancey
We had a fun day at the fair—reliving my childhood memories for sure! We loved the exhibits and the animals. We skipped the rides this time but had fun listening to the live music and there were tons of amazing food options—mostly fried!😂🥳 We would definitely go again. …
Phil Knight
Came for the Ice Cream event only to find out that they only have a fraction of the vendors from years past, and everyone is waiting over 45 minutes duebto a single line that is delayed by the serving of the ice cream.
Could be done a lot more efficiently. MANY upset patrons.
Daris Kody Killian
The food was better this time though I did not patronize the turkey leg outfit that was a terrible disappointment last year.
The concert was great, the stadium wonderful and we are grateful the yellowslide was open. We enjoyed very much the 4h and art buildings and the face painting was a favorite and the lady very pleasant and skilled.
Janal Trutna
Always fun at the fair! Not quite as grand as it was pre pandemic but still lots of fun to be had. Good food and drinks, fun rides for the kids, animals and vendor booths. We like going during off times so the crowds are smaller but either way it's a good time.
Ammara Rashid
We had so much fun at Monster truck show and ride
My Doll Life 8
We had fun at the fair this year although it seemed downsized from my memory. Unless you count all the food venues then you won't be disappointed! It's always fun seeing the animals and the ribbons on all the other entries like art and quilts and food. My daughters enjoyed the face painting and henna tattoos as well as the rides.
Patrick Perrett
The concert setup in the Days of 47 arena was excellent! Amazing show. Ticket office was incredibly slow but otherwise a great visit.
David Larrabee
Utah State Fairpark is incrediblely dirty/sticky. Didn't help it was windy so trash is flying about. Standard fair food if you're into deep fried anything. Unfortunately it's not my jam. AMAZING MONSTER TRUCK SHOW. Went in Sept 2021. The monster trucks, totally worth it. Fair could be fun if you have kids. Others just go for the trucks 🤙
Annette Hansen
We didn't go to the fair we were there for the days if '47 rodeo. The stadium was great. There were a lot of vendors there selling different things. They did have a carnival set up for the kids.
Aoife Neville
It was pretty good. My one issue was that rides that my son could ride last year at 44", he couldn't ride this year at 46". So, he kept begging for his favorite rides that he now can't ride for another 2".
Some of the thrill rides were pretty tame and some cost $10 instead of accepting wristbands. But they had some that were super fun and I enjoyed the overall atmosphere.
Cody Eldridge
So much fun! Great Fair food! So many cool exhibits, animals, rides, and games! The Utah State Fair was awesome and we had a blast! The demolition derby was just the cherry on top! So fun! Can't wait to come back next year!
Haley Takoch
Now that COVID is over it seems the fair is almost back to the way it was before. There are still a lot of vendors missing from this year's event. One of my favorites was Violas chicken. I was hopeful to see them back this year but they weren't. It's still a fun time. All the food, drink, rides and entertainment you could want. There seemed to be far more rides then I ever remember seeing in the past. Go... it will be fun.
Cale Hernandez
Nice activity for families. The food was crazy expensive, a small bowl was $16 and a bottle of water $5.00 ...! But it was fun.
Back 2 You
Great place for the family. We went to the monster truck show this year and it was good. I would say try to go during the week otherwise you will probably only be able to do a few rides, the lines are really long. The wrist band does NOT include all the rides. The food is ok, but not worth the prices.
Kelvin Rosado
This is my third fair for this year. Very different from the others. Not as big, but still have different native options. And that what makes it great. The art and butter sculpture display need better improvement. But overall had a great time as it's fused with Cardinal and vendor exploration.
Samuel Smith
Great facilities for a state fair! Cool looking skate park that we'll go back and try sometime.
Wendi
It's the fair, so it brings out the best and the worst in the state. The booths and food are pretty good, fun to look around at everything, but the carnival part is terrible, all the better (bigger more exciting) rides are now extra $$$, and that's on top of a $30-$35 wristband, so when you go plan to drop about $250 or more if you have a couple kids. Good thing it only happens once a year.
E G
Dusty and overpriced - but the farm animals were nice.
Kenneth Bird
Loved the exhibits (fine art, photography, crafts and quilts)and it was only$8 to get in when we went. It's usually $12. The food vendors prices were higher than previous years. Not as many farm animals that day. We didn't see any type of birds like they had before.
Emery White
Parking is definitely a struggle and the prices are a bit outrageous. Overall however, its a fun experience if you know how to make it one. We parked far away and rode the purchasable scooters there and then back to our cars afterwards. Tickets to get in weren't too crazy, but the food vendors and 'tickets' for the rides are where your wallet starts to cry.
Star Place
Fun time for families or groups! Well done display with cute/fun characters. Everyone in our group loved it. Professional display! Music not "too" traditional or "too" wacky. 😊 …
Veronica “Roni” Pulido
Not too crowded. Good food & so many animals to pet...even puppies!!!❤️
Shay Richins
The family had a blast I wish we would have went sooner. Wow what a great day it was no rain and it was nice day. Lots of great people out there. Thanks for a great time
waynew45
The fair park itself is pretty good, but they really need to improve traffic control coming into the fair, specifically the intersection of 900W and 300N. I strongly believe a traffic officer needs to be working that intersection during the fair. Failing putting a traffic control officer there, block the access to 900W from 300N and traffic can access fair parking only from 900W.
Second, where was security? In the nearly 8 hours we spent at the fair over two days, we never saw any uniformed officer on patrol and the lack of cecurity is disconcerting.
Lastly, the people directing traffic inside the parking lot need to be more organized and visible. Tonight, the last night of the fair, they directed me to the farthest section of the lot (area north of the arena) then all but disappeared. There were no open spots and I had to drive back into incoming traffic and hope to find a spot. There was no one directing parking after they guide me to the farthest corner.
Bottom line is there needs to be serious attention given to controlling and guiding traffic into the parking lot.
Anthony Lang
State fair was great. This was the 1st fair I have seen with multiple Ferris wheels & other rides. Great idea to keep the lines down. Thoroughly enjoyed our fay with our grand children!
Aimee Allen
We went to the World of Illumination over the holiday break. The light show is connected to a radio station so you sit in the car and roll through the set up in the parking lot. It was a fun show for the kids to see and it gave them an activity to enjoy over the break.
Leigh Salinas
Big fair and lots to do but expensive. Tons of fair food, games, rides, booths, and animals. Have a rodeo ring where they put on a demo Derby but the crowd management is the worst I've seen for getting everyone in. They wouldn't open the doors until 630 with a show at 7.... With a sold out show of 10,000 people....you're gonna have a bad time.....we barely got to our seats in time to see the start and there were SO many still trying to get their tickets scanned. Also, they just let people gaggle around the doors...no order at all. It's TERRIBLE.
kaye adamson
It is always fun to go to the Utah State Fair. However there are not enough handicap parking spots. The fair opened at 10:00 a.m. and we got there at 10:30 and every single handicap parking spot was taken. Thankfully we found a spot close enough. And of course the food is absolutely wonderful. For barbecue we spent $50 for one meal. Yep pretty freaking expensive and it was pretty good. Never plan on playing the games and winning prizes cuz you just don't. All in all it was fun. Spent $200 at the fair. That's our outing for the year.
Chris Summers
It's very refreshing to hang out at the fair.
qellez smith
My family had a really good time here. Its had been years since I had gone to the fair but this year it was fun. We went on the last night at about 9:00 PM thinking we'd ride a ride or two and grab some food. We ended up staying until just before midnight. The lines were long to pretty much everything even that late on a Sunday night. The food we ate was actually really good and the kids had fun on all of the rides. My younger kids played almost every game there was and my entire trunk area was stuffed full with those little stuffed prizes lol. My only complaint was how disgusting the bathrooms were. Other than that ot was a nice time.
Bridgette Snyder
Had a great time. Grandkids and Niece had a blast riding the rides
Kang Yi
Utah state fair is always a hit with my family!
Barney Family
Made great memories but it was a money pit.
Kevin Coleman
We went as a family and my daughter had a blast between at least 4 rides safe for her at 3 years old and the food and animals. We had a lot of fun
Thanks..
Ariel Rea
That light show they put up is amazing. It's techno meets Christmas and is mind blowing amazing! It's a must see. $ well spent !
D.
Going through the Christmas lights here while listening to the great music was a family memory we won't soon forget. If you haven't been here I highly recommend it.
philip harvey
Just went to the Utah state fair park for the Halloween nights and it was a blast. I didn't know what to expect at first, but it was actually really fun. There was plenty of parking and room to walk around with the number of people there were. The carvings were all really awesome and there was even a live artist there carving away. A must go for anyone looking for family fun. Also went to the Chinese lantern festival. Fun
Informative. Could use more activities though
Lori Brewerton
Wasatch Reptile Expo is great! Beautiful snakes and geckos, the vendors are very friendly. Not just reptiles and amphibians, also insects, preserved specimens of multiple species, some amazing rocks for terrariums or display.
Suzette Nielsen
Friendly, people that helped me accomplish a new driver's license. Thanks, u, you are all very patient and helpful with the testing processes.
Shawnna Lazo
We went to the state fair and went to the Prince Royce concert. I can’t believe how small this fair park feels. We have been to other venues here like the Chinese lantern festival here as well. It also didn’t help that it rained and was so so muddy. I was completely disappointed that it was cheaper to buy beer than a non-alcoholic drink. $7 for a drink everywhere. Some places it was $6 but honestly for a drink. Next time I will bring my own drinks. I honestly only went for the concert and I don’t know if I would ever go back again unless somebody I wanted to see was there. I felt that the tickets were overpriced for what we got. It said he would start at 7:30 he started at 8:45 and ended at 9:45 or 10. We felt like we kind of got taken. We were surprised he didn’t have an opener, even the Davis County Fair has an opener for BYU Vocal Point. It just left a lot to be desired.
Jordan Dickson
It is what it is, a venue. For some reason, the fair park, Lagoon and the zoo occupy a subset of locations that always feel like the surface of the sun temperature-wise, but I don't know if this is necessarily something the owners of any of these places could fix. The Scottish festival is my favorite event of the year, so I will continue to visit the fair park until the Scots change location.
Alex Martinez
Great place with many different activities like the covid test or the salvation army angel tree during this holiday season
Heather McClellan
The carnival rides were a rip off. Paid for the matinee portion ($20) but the rides didn’t even open until 2:00pm. And they wouldn’t give me a receipt to see how much was charged on my cc. Some of the kiddie fun house rides were falling apart. They shouldn’t have allowed kids in it. Three of the main rides weren’t even included in this price, You have to pay extra for them. Overall deceiving. My family had fun but it was really expensive. $12 for a small cup of corn from one of the vendors. WHAT!! Corn is literally the cheapest food in America!
Nathan Day
A typical state fair! Lots of fun rides. Great fried fair food! Good music and other entertainment! Traffic and parking are bad, so save yourself time and effort and take Trax!
Michelle B
We took our grandbabies and daughter on a Saturday. The fair food was plentiful and there were activities galore! Downside, the kiddie rides allow adults to ride but not with littles who don’t meet the height requirements. We had a VERY unhappy 2 year old, who loves fair rides (he is allowed to ride them at our local fair so he was excited & then extremely sad) we paid admission, and extra $30 for tickets for rides, only to find out that the rides for teens/adults didn’t take tickets and cost $10 per individual ride.
The farm experience for littles was darling! I definitely recommend that!
If I were to return with kids? I’d skip buying ride tickets and take them to all the animal exhibits and kids alley.
John Gibson
Awesome venue for skateboarding! Magnificent view and not a bad seat in the house! Person skating there is none other than Tony Hawk him self!
Trevor Hansen
The Utah State Fair Park is always a fun place to visit. They always have interesting things to see, and most likely you'll enjoy your experience.
Be sure to do some research on the types of events as there always seems to be some type of event happening down there.
These photos were of the pumpkin night. The event was overpriced in my opinion, however, the lack of star is from the cleanliness of the park. The staff was great though.
Becca B
We went to the Fair Ground for Pumpkin nights and it was amazing. We saw a live performance from smokehouse.fireco . They had a ton of different food choices including french crepes which were excellent. There were at least 10 different building with a different theme and activity going on. I liked how big and spacious the fair grounds was it seemed we walked for hours and didnt see all of it. Cant wait to go again
Stevie Writes
Chinese Lantern Festival was amazing. Using Groupon, I purchased 3 tickets for $13 each, regularly $18 for adults. Parking was $5.
We showed up for the 6:30 performance of Chinese carnival style acts. Featuring 4 performers in 4 acts. Impressive.
I would recommend going closer to sundown, 8:00 to get a performance seat & check out the lights.
It was beautiful, unique and affordable. See it before it leaves town in May!
Shelly Linford
Dragon Lights at the Utah State Fairpark was fantastic. Go when it’s dark outside, the lights are more spectacular. There is also Entertainment on a stage and fair food available. You do have to pay for parking if you park in their lot.
Tammy Roberts
The state fair is a very fun place for the entire family to be cause no matter what you want there is something for everyone to do, see and ride on.
Matilde Sanchez
A good place to have fun but it was very crowded. Long rows for the rides, everything very expensive.
Kimber Swain
I go every year on my birthday and I just have a good time and I like see all the things and what they have done with the butter though out the years the pic below was this year's 9-14-2021
Reza Keshtbod
Adam The Great was awesome, my wife and I really enjoyed it. He was funny anx magically talented. I definitely will come back to the fair next year if he is here to perform again. 😅😅 …
Ariel Beals
Went to a reception in a building here. The building was huge and perfect to hold a lot of people, but not very pretty inside for a reception in my opinion. Just looked like a big structure. With plain concrete floors and high ceilings where you could see all the metal beams and such holding it together. It was echoey and felt empty. More like a place to play basketball rather than a place to hold a reception. Still had some fun, though. And they had quite the feast!
Sharon Allred
Besides the fun, food, displays and entertainment found there, I always look forward to the awards I win in the arts and crafts competitions they hold every year; especially ever since my first "Best of Show" award I received back in 1980, to my delight. I even enjoy the animals, 4H competition, butter sculpturing display and other special challenge competition they invent and come up with every year, especially the ones geared for children and artists. Their creative surprises always delighted me.
Christy C Sessions
Generally speaking it was clean and orderly considering the amount of people there. They could look into having more water fountain/container refill stations. We will remember next time that we can bring in our own water too.
Chris Edwards
Concert was awesome. Post malone put on a really good show. The only complaint I have of the state fairpark is the parking situation. Needs one or two more exits. That would help the flow of traffic. Other than that the venue was good.
Denise Nunes
Our family really enjoyed the State Fair. We rode rides, played games, and looked at the animals. There were performers, vendors and lots of exhibits. We had a lot of fun!
Rose R
This has been by far the best fair my child has ever been too. We love it, and the wrist band was affordable, and for her height, we were surprised they had so many rides for her.
The leader Of the pack
For a state fair it seemed pretty small. But there were many different food vendors! The livestock barns are fairly small too (about half the size of our county fair) but it has a nice hometown feel about it. The beer selection was minimal, maybe open it up to some micro brews to bend there.
What's Happening With Lisa
Getting to the parking lot was HELL. It was almost 3 hours. There has to be a better way to have traffic move better and the cutting in when trying to leave room for the fire trucks to exit. 3 HOURS. Not cool Utah.
Stephanie Oakden
Well the prices are of coarse ridiculously high and everyone is out trying to make a buck. We also had our own cooler with drinks and ice sitting in the same place all day with constant visits from our party, and then towards the end someone stole it!! I guess they needed it more than us..
Dennis Rowland
Wedding reception! Who would of thought that the Utah State fair could hold a wedding. It was amazing. Great huge space with ability to decorate as you see fit.
Tui Takai
We always go on the first day because of the discounted price. We always enjoy the food & the rides especially my kids. Definitely a fun family outing.
jamie haines
Allways a great time. Mango and Dango and the flying umbrella ship just plain awsome, great with kids and adults. Great food. Awsome exhibits, great venders, fun games, Hamster ball very fun. Great job done every year. If you havent been go see what your missing fun fun fun.
Ashley Irvin
We had a great time at the Utah State Fair. So many fun things to do with the family or date night fun. The only thing is the prices everything is really expensive come prepared with the cash.
Milo Patterson
The state fair is so much fun but you do end up spending a lot of money the food is good the rides are fun you get to see animals and cool photos of things.
Laura Krebs
Be careful about paying cash for parking to one of the walking attendants. The booth attendant accused me of trying to do re-entry even though I had bought the ticket 30 seconds before from one of the staff...just pay at the booth so you don't have the same mood lowering experience I had getting into the parking.
Andromeda
Here at the Utah AIDS foundation having a sweet time 😊 a lot of people dress up for the Venetian carnival silent auction ❤️ cute dresses! They had food and you can get free pictures at a picture booth! They also watched the Oscars as well :D …
scott wright
I have always loved the state fair growing up me and my wife went to go see Mr Jeff Dunham yesterday night. And it was great date night
Sergio Lopez-Peralta
The events here are always awesome! Went to the dragon lights festival recently and it was amazing! The only thing about the fair park is that some of the facilities are poorly kept. Parking and entry is also expensive.
Dee Dutton
I wish it went longer so there wouldn't be so many people. They need places to sit and it where all the food trucks are. More smoking areas. Other than that it was awesome.
Barbara Dixon
So much fun. My 3 year old was in hog heaven. Great rides for little ones and plenty of entertainment for older ones.
Christine Paongo
State fair 2019..great food...kid rides are safe and the kids got to see a free magic show and the local farm animals....byob to save money 1 water bottle was $3
Barbara Nonya
It's so expensive but worth it if you go a little later in the day.
The lines thin out later an hour before they closed we rode all the rides with no waiting. We would get off and get right back in line of our favorites and ride till we had enough.
Good times😄 …
Brooke Rupp
We came here for a bike swap and stayed for the festive decorations for Chinese New Year. There are so many unique and fun events here throughout the year. Also, the building with the bike swap was stunning. I ran around with my kids in the dance floor upstairs. I would have a party or wedding reception here.
Heidi Tom
The fairgrounds are nice. However, it's way too small to enjoy the fair. There were too many people for the space available.
Jordan Morris
A lot cleaner than I expected, including the bathrooms. Whoever was cleaning the bathrooms between the stadium and the permanent food buildings had that place smelling like bleach all day, which is the best thing the mens room could smell like quite frankly.
Dave Watson
We went for the Fair and Demolition Derby. Super fun and a lot of food options to try. Only downside was the parking. The traffic was crazy.
wendy williams
I love the experience now of the fair. The state has made the park amazing. Much different from years ago. I go every year now.
Bonney Snow
Great place to be was fun A lot of people crowded had to walk far to even Park and then walk back in the dark scary but it's great we wouldn't see her bees they were great Wendy cold there's my
Andrea Sorensen
Super fun the food and rides were amazing. Just don't play the games it is a waste of money. You can buy the same toys from the shops for half the price.
Erica Dunyon
Sooo much fun representing USOA
Juan Rodriguez
I've only been to one event here, which was the state fair. I mostly followed the perimeter, so I could see all the animals and the food. Make sure to go to the small pond for free fishing if you have kids.
Janine Decker
The venue is great because you can pretty much have a good for you from anywhere you sit. The app wasn't really easy though to see where you could find a handicap seating. There are some handicap seating at the top of the ramps but the seats are quite narrow. I happen to have brought a camp chair for my dad to rest in as we walked all the way around the building and he had to sit in that. So if you have issues walking make sure you purchase seats on the side where the parking lot is and again you can't tell that from the ticketing website
Uniquely Me
It was fun I had an awesome time we went on rides and eight and walked around and the animals were cool it was just really high priced.
Juan Esquivel
The rides were so long it sucked bought tickets to go on rides and came home with tickets not worth it too expensive but the workers at the games we're really nice
liang sin
Definitely fun and a nice place to go with friends and family but the entrance fee per day is a bit much
Princess Sparkles
World of Illumination was worth every penny! Lots of lights and fun displays, lasted a long time, kids had tons of fun!
Noel Mills Designs
Awesome experience today at the Reptile Expo at Utah State Fairpark! Parking was awesome and the staff was all very welcoming and helpful!
Nabil Makarem
I went there for my road test. DPS office is located inside the park. The person who tested my driving skills was nice and friendly!
Kelli Campbell
The food has gone way downhill and looked and looked for horses...never saw any. Is it a fair without horses? At least they still had cows and pigs. And the Beef Tenderloin was good.
Víctor Jimenez
It was awesome!!! Me and my Son had a great time with Fair
Ronna Gilford
Great place to hang out with friends and family. Also love that there was a dedicated parking space.
Kimberly Navratil
Great facility. We went for the Days of 47 Rodeo. We were sitting facing West- bring ear plugs or sit on the other side.
Adam Radel
The derby was really great!
Dorothy Mcgee
Went to get my ID renewed had an appointment so it went fast
kelly hunsaker
Saw Christmas lights, it was beautiful but a bit trafficky...not their fault, it was popular...
Robert Barela
Went to see the monster trucks it was awesome!!!
Chaden Hite
Fun place to take the family. Kids love the rides, and the rodeo was great too!
Connor See
The fairgrounds are alright, but the parking situation accompanied with the pedestrian channeling is a nightmare. One way in on feet, one way in on wheels. One or two man gates in the fence would make it so much better, but instead they add 1/2 a mile to your walk but putting a fence in your way for no real reason.
Tony W (Yasihiko)
Very cool venue for any events that need the space. Only complaint is that there isn't a washroom on the second floor of the venue.
Excellent air conditioning too in a summer day despite the windows beaming in light all day.
Sprouting The Seed
The food was a bit over priced, but the experience was a lot of fun. We especially loved the 4H displays and the farm to market experience for the kids.
Charles Hambrick
Lumamaze lights were beautiful and fun for kids but its only about an hour or so outing.
Candice Brittain
We had purchased tickets to Lumaze last week. The Christmas light exhibition. We had a blast even amongst the chill.
Ally
Had lots of fun! Quite a few vendors only took cash, and we didn't have cash on us; nonetheless we had a fantastic day.
Agnes Vic
Bring your own drinks especially if you go there with children. The beverages are expensive, oh well after all is at the fair. It's worth it to pay all you can ride instead of the tickets for kids 5 years old and up.
Dennis Cope
I attended a conference here, in the Grand Blg. It was a good venue with plenty of room for vendors on the first floor and general meetings on the second floor.
Erika Petersen
Clean, friendly, and a lot of fun! Cool vendors came with lots of interesting leather products and beaded jewelery. Enjoyed the show about the settlers of Utah at the beginning. The seating was really comfortable too. All the events were a lot of fun to watch and our kids loved the fireworks at the end as well
Kristin Maynes
Had a blast at the 2018 State Fair! I had t been in so many years so it was fun and expensive to go, worth it tho.
vicki fairbourn
Nice to see kids with their parents having a great time after all everyone is going through with Covid and loss of jobs. Everyone appeared to be fine with the restrictions on eating and drinking in a designated area.
Be proud ...if your one of those individuals accepting this situation, caring for the people around you as you'd care for your family, friends and all of us !!
Jason Hadley
The state fair park is conveniently located with adequate parking. We also had a great time at the utah state fair.

Loved the junior portion of the rodeo! Those little kids have lots of heart and determination. The place could use more bathrooms. The new arena looks amazing! Be prepared to pay $3 for bottle of water. The major part of the rodeo was great! Looking forward to going back next year! Only negative was the $10 fee to park in the lot and o ly one gate open to leave when the rodeo was over and there was 1674736 people trying to all get out the same gate.
Easton Harvey
The Utah State Fair is the annual family favorite tradition! The kids love the animals and the shows. Don't forget some extra cash for your favorite fair foods!
_SL33PAPPLE _
Fun outdoor Christmas event full of bright colored lights and live music. Perfect for family photos. Even had interactive swings and teeter-totters for the children.
Kent Madsen
The DMV at the Fairgrounds is very efficient. We were in and out the door in less than twenty minutes.
EXTREME HVAC
When this place is open. It's extremely expensive. Personally I'd rather go to lagoon. My experience, lagoon was cheaper and there's more to do and better rides.
John Fivas
My Son had a blast he faced his fear of heights and he now love's to go on rides thank you UTVA for letting him go with the school.
Peggy Baczuk
I enjoined state fair and spent quite a bit of
money there, however this year I was soured on the display
Of flags that say “let’s go Brandon”, Don’t tread on me”. Keep politics out of the fair! But if you must be fair and out in the other side ie Biden! Change it or loose my 159.00 and many others! Disappointing
Brandon Androes
Was fun! The only thing I wanted to try was the deep fried nutter butters. Not their fault. I'm just still sad about it.
Angelica Torres
Visited for Pumpkin Nights. Decent fair park grounds. Bathrooms could use a little more maintenance. Fun night.
Brytt Blatter
Always a great time going to the fair. Awesome booths, delicious food, and of course beer!
Giovanna Samaha Gonçalves
Every year the state fair gets better! Food was great, they were sanitizing all the rides. Expect to pay $7 for a drink, but only once a year it’s worth it.
Sarah Podwys
Always love going to the state fair. Plenty of options for dinner and the baby animals were adorable.
Scott Nelson
Typical state fair stuff. Quite a bit more cost than expected, but I've hit smaller town fairs before this one. This could be typical for the region. Parking want a headache, just a nice walk. Overall, the circus is what took this from average to above average.
Ale Delacruz
I wish it wasn't so expensive, since it only comes once a year and u wanna go, but they take advantage with food prices
Jaydra Payne
The fair is fun to go every once and a while, but it is a bit pricey to get in and everything else costs money too. If you’re on a tight budget, it’s not the best date. But definitely a fun experience
Rebecca Hahn
I went to get my driver's license. I had an appointment, which really helps. I was in and out before my appointment because I showed up early. They are very helpful, friendly, and I love coming here! It takes longer to get your driver's license by mail now, so if you're going to do it, get it done now!
Chris Folkman
We were here for the SLC Scottish Highland Games. The Park is massive and an awesome venue for so many events. It was kept clean and very well maintained.
Highly recommend going to the Scottish games at the Utah State Fairpark. Was a fun family friendly atmosphere. We were also selling premium Corndogs from the Jailhouse Dogs food tent!
Deanna Garner
I was a little disappointed this year 😢there was far less stuff and everyone was out of pickles 💔 oopsie daisy was a pretty cute act. …
Aenoy Phranasith
I give it 5 star for having a great time but the food is way over priced, I mean I don't mind the price if it has great taste but over price with an ok taste guys I recommend bringing your own food
David Ben Israel
It was really fun. Going there early and taking advantage of the all day ride pass is the way to go. Lines are super long but they go fairly quick considering. The vendors there, well, let's just say, that as there are many (technically all of them) that are just there to take your money, you can go from shop to shop and get better deals. I bought a $24 item that costs $60 one lane over... For the same exact thing. Food was great but the portions were amazingly small in most of the food shops/stands. I don't suggest going there in an empty stomach. Bring enough water! I can't emphasize that enough...
Casey Corless
So much fun watching my nephew and niece see and peg farm animals. I went for the amazing food. My nephew really enjoyed the rides.
Kimberly Hall
Fair was fun and well done. It was more expensive this year....but I guess what isn't?? Bought less but it was still a lot of fun
Ali Z
I went there for my cdl written test. I passed all three tests in one day. The dmv ppl their are friendly.
Jake Wimmer
I went to the Scottish games and it was actually a blast. Who doesn't like big guys throwing heavy rocks? Or men wearing skirts? Or tons of people playing bagpipes? If you've never been, it's a fun experience.
I wish they had more Scottish food options, but the food was still good.
JROD RODRIGUEZ
Fairs are a blast from the past and it's always fun watching the kids smile like there's no tomorrow. You can spend a ton or a little. I always suggest to take with you only the cash amount that you are willing to part with. There are ATM's throughout the grounds and many vendors take debit/credit cards too.
Cliff Felkins
The State Fair was okay . It seems smaller this year. Food was outrageously high priced. I bought two reg. corn dogs and two bottled waters 22.50 crazy.
Travis Brady
I was actually at the division of motor vehicles there but they were nice and friendly and we worked out well really well
Ryan Bissman
Attended days of 47 rodeo. Super helpful staff and place was clean. Stadium offered great views of the mountains. Parking was quick and easy and very organized
Stacie Graves
Had a great time at the fair. It was nice to see things kind of back to "normal." Lots of fun rides, fun fair food and animals to see.
My kids loved the "little hands on the farm" exhibit! They could have stayed all day!
Michael R
First time going. Took the little ones. They even enjoyed the art exhibits.
Barry Eisenman
Always a great place and good fun. From all the fair entries and animals to the rodeo!
Lose Akauola
Took my family on the last day and it was packed. We had fun, there were lines everywhere for rides and tickets.
David Strong
I want to the political rally which the website said would have food but they didn't so that was disappointing and security was a little mean but I get it. There were some cool flags and signs and I like the state park buildings.
Rich H
Very good concert venue. Good planning on layout of the grounds for the State Fair.
Stockton Perry
Great place to go, went here Saturday. Lots of cool food and animals ,and diferent art... We didn't try the food but we will be going back before it ends on the 19th because I "won" some more tickets. Kinda disappointed there were only 5 chickens and a handful of baby chicks and not more like when I was younger. The Rodeo was cool too and had a great 9/11 tribute.
Dave Nelson
It was fun. Lots of stuff to look and some things to do. Plenty of fried and other fair/carnival food. Lots of walking to burn off some of those calories. There weren't enough places to sit down in the shade. So go on a cool day and during the week if you want to avoid the crowds.
John safety1
The new colosseum is a wonderful addition for the fairpark. Good food, access to clean bathrooms, and a. Mood of laughter, excitement, and fun penetrate the night air!
Zach Tison
i love the state fair, but it's getting too crowded... and $12 ears of corn are outrageous..
Jamie Moseley Fields
Good times at the State Fair! It's where you see all kinds! Loved it!
Tammy Prawitt
Love going here each year with my family. Lots to see, do and eat!!!
Jocelyn
The state Fair is super fun, esp for kids. Be prepared to pay $10 parking, $8 entrance fee and around $30 dollars per person inside to eat and go on some rides. Some of the food trucks are much more though.
Brannon McQuinn
Came here for the "Pumpkin Nights" autumn event and had a great time with my friends. Most of the pumpkins in display were plastic which was disappointing but made sense. I just wished they made the area smell a bit more like pumpkins because it just smelled like fog machines. Other than that, no complaints.
Jeffrey Seeber
I recall going to the fair as a child. This far back, they used to have animals, beautiful award winning hogs, ponies and rabbits. People would bring giant vegetables, skilled artists of all mediums would bring their goods to show and peddle, it was magical.
That time has passed. I expect to pay high prices on food, but the quality of food should match the price. The folks that would setup food stands, had amazing and unique foods, most were local and prideful.
That time has passed. The food has no passion, it's all owned and ran by two or three companies and you can taste it.
The fair used to be somewhere you could support local artists buy purchasing their work. Now it's the same vendor every 10 feet, the products are cheap Chinese make a bucks. It's no longer special. That sucks, it used to be an amazing almost enchanted place, or maybe that's just the magic of childhood...
GyrlSmylee “GyrlSmylee Sonflower” Ireland
The best place to come to ride rides, play games, eat food, listen to music, and see animals!!
Eric Treloar
Pizza place is absolutely disgusting. Kids went to get pizza, unfortunately.... I didn't see it until they starting eating. Sitting out way too long. We be watching for food borne illness..... 6 bucks for each overly greasey stale frightenly not hot soggy cardboard with cheese and two pepperonis.... Blahhh
Dizzy B
Had so much fun at the fair! Fun entertainment and lots to look at. Some really great booths! There was one where you could pick an oyster and get the pearl from inside in a cute piece of jewelry. Get jewelry engraved with whatever you want right in front of you. Cute clothes and toys. We got to see some fantastic animals. And enough bathrooms so we didn't spend half of our time searching for one with the kids. It is absolutely going to become an every year event for us.
Sue Hardy
Visited the new rodeo arena at the fair grounds and it is awesome. I am Excited for mire rodeos!
Jared Elder
The venue wasn't great this year, but I still had a great time. The food they had was great
Sheri Riddle
Had a BLAST at the SLC Scottish Festival! We tried to visit all the booths, but especially our own clan!! Scotch Eggs are a MUST!! Kids Highland games, watching the bands, just the whole day, amazing!!
Logan Ross
Always fun every year. The fair grounds look nicer than ever.
Tyler Stern
Lots of fun fair activities and good food! Don’t skip the Hawaiian and Asian foods, they’re better than the normal fair fare. Lots of fun rides for relatively cheap. We saw a magician who was pretty funny although he didn’t have much of an audience.
J Aaron Hales
Anyways a great time at the Utah State Fair. Tons to see. Lots of fried goodies. A circus. Rodeo. And people watching galore!
Esther Robinson
Went to see the reptile show with 3 year old grandson who was totally fascinated with the snakes and all the criters.
Thomas Pyles
Friendly staff, the staff member that assisted me was awesome! She Helped me with my DOT card for my class A CDL.
Bret Hess
We took 8 grandkids from ages 4 to 14 to the state fair, and had a great time during the 3 hours we were there (4-7 pm). To give the kids a more old fashioned fair experience, we skipped rides, games and shopping. We saw three good half hour shows: A clean comedy show, wild animal show (python, sloth, etc), and a 3-man stunt show with pole climbing, motorcycle stunts, etc. We also enjoyed the crafts and farm animals exhibits. I was surprised that the group of kids that were all boys but one liked seeing the home crafts exhibit: quilts, needlework, jam and baked goods, etc...some of it was very good art. There was a great "petting zoo" like building with baby farm animals. We also walked through the cattle and hogs barns. Why not 5 stars? We got dinner food at a grill that served awful fried food with prices for $14 for a large hot dog and $17 for a hamburger. Yuk. That's the problem with state fair food...they don't care what people think of it or them, just so it looks appealing. We should set up review sites for each food vendor!
KARMA CHADWICK
The fair is always fun, but heavy on the wallet. The art is nice to look at, but they allow professional art in the same category as amature, it is obvious by the $200 framing. Animals were cute. Way, way, way overpriced!!
Jennessa Kapp
Drove through the Christmas lights show and it was awesome!
Amit Sathe
Enjoyed the utah state fair at the fairpark.
Rodeo was awesome.
Tried the funnel cake for the first time and loved it..
Adrya Ch
Everything is too expensive, including the entrance... I like to go shopping there but with the high prices I did not get what I like 🤷🏽♀️ …
Atziry Leyva
This place is so fun that I already went like a lot of times and the rides and games are so fun
Greg Miller
The Cole Swindell concert was Really good, if you weren't there, you missed out.
Sarah Shunn
Super fun events happen here! Central stage for live music is cool. The beer festival was great!
Jaycey Ward
I LOVE going to events at the state park! I've gone to the state fair nearly every year as an adult and I'll continue that tradition as long as I can. I love the food, the booths, the games, the vendors, and of course, the butter sculpture.
We went to the Christmas light display in 2020 and I was blown away! So many large displays that you could get up close and interact with! Great photo ops and a wonderful way to get into the holiday spirit: D
Marcelo Figuera
Went on pumpkin night, great for children. Not so much for adults.
Uamga
The Utah State FairPark great place to take your family, friends, and love ones as well. But also I had to stop by that place because of the DMV too.
Amy Leyba
So much fun, but food was way too expensive.
Chris Brussow
Hasn't changed much in 20 years, other than the new awesome stadium.
Scotlyn McAtee
Such a great year at the fair.
Randy Peterson
I work security there and I have been treated great and the parking is plentiful and safe
tiev dukes
There weren't any seats I noticed. It used to have those blue bus stop benches randomly placed throughout.
chris e
FANTABULOUS TIME w/mY MOM!! GREAT NAUGHTY FOODS, & ENTERTAINMENT was AWESOMENESS TOO.
Megan Mair Utah Hairstylist
A fun tradition for the whole family. This was the first time we have been to the State Fair in a really long time it did not disappoint. It reminded me of my childhood and I was excited to take my daughter there. She loved all the rides and she can't wait to go back she said LOL. Until next year! We will definitely go back.
Cody Bassett
Went for the Reptile Expo. Lots of cool animals and odds and ends to buy!
Brent Allison
We enjoyed the vintage car show.
Alan
My wife have been here twice this year: craft lake city and the state fair. Both times were incredibly fun visits. Lots of interesting booths, food choices and a generally just a great time.
Kiana Barrow
First time at the fair was a blast! Can't wait to go again! Lines and parking weren't nearly as bad as I expected and the food and entertainment was worth going again! Make sure you visit the reptile bus during the 2021 fair, awesome interactive experience!
Misty W
I'm sad that there was a lot less this year, but I do understand. Lots of fair parking for $10 this 2020 season...
Inadequate Kitchen
4 year old and I had a full day of fun! He is finally tall enough for the kid rides ❤ the AG farm was his favorite!!!!
Lots of unique vendors to shop with. Great covered stage, sound was good, walking/roaming entertainment was fun
Jeff Mason
So expensive. I think you're better off to go to lagoon unless you really want to see the animals
Fred Kelly
Haven't been to fair for years but took granddaughter and had great time. But not covid safe super spreader.
Gretchen
Always enjoy seeing the beautiful art submitted, plus eating some fair food, at the State Fair.
Marty
Fair food is always a treat, never disappoints
Jill Burrup
You have to love the State Fair but, in my opinion, the vendor situation has gone a little downhill. I realize we are still in a pandemic and that adversely effects things. There are so many vendors selling the EXACT same things and you never really see anyone buying much from those vendors. The food is great but way overpriced. $21 for a smoked turkey leg! Sheesh!!! $10 for a roasted cob of corn! The children's attractions are amazing, though!
James Ehlers
Parking was a nightmare like always, and security could have used a bit of tightening up, but overall it was a great time. Good food vendors, people keeping the place clean, and lots of live entertainment. Just be prepared to sit on the ground to eat if all the tables are full.
Old Linux Distros
Looks Very Fun And I Has The BEST Rides EVER
Julie Kimbrel
Enjoy and good. Too many sell booths and expensive food to eat.
Danielle “Danny” Case
What can I say!?? Gotta love that fairpark!! I went there and to get my state ID at their DMV office there! And, let me tell you this!! I was in and out in less that 20 minutes!! Great fast service!! Friendly staff!! Clean location! I suggest going to that location if you wanna save a bunch of time. An appointment is required and an online application also!!
Brian Bowles
Nice grounds and facilities. Great fun for the Utah Scottish Festival and Games
Matt Hagen
Everything is to expensive for normal Utahns with big families. It was still fun but couldn't do anything that cost extra money.
Greg Roth
The state really needs to step up and spend a little money updating or moving the fair. Fun family event, but older run down facilities.
J. Gee
Hard to rate. What makes the Utah State Fair stand out compared to other State Fairs? What kind of foods are there that are fun and different? There is very little information, photos or videos. I have been to many different kinds of State Fairs all over the US. I have not gone to Utah’s. There are very little advertisements about it. So my question is what would entice me to go? Went there this year, not a lot to do. It is Family Friendly but nothing that stands out for exciting or really fun things to do especially if you do not have little, little kids. Parking was a nightmare but that is due to all the people moving in from all over. If you do come give yourself ample time to park, say about an hour at least; I do have to say the parks dept was trying their hardest to accommodate people, they just could not keep up. To be fair they really do need a much larger space to spread out, they have just out grown their present location. If the city can build the ridiculously hideous apartments/townhomes then they have the land to build one heck of a nice, large fairgrounds with plenty of parking that’s NOT in the seedy side of Salt Lake (no offense to anyone having to live there) seriously though the city needs to do some serious studies of OTHER cities and how they do it and what draws the crowds in. More things for people who do not have little kids. Things for seniors, teens and older adults. There is potential but Utah you are not jumping on it and losing out.
Cesar Chavez
Went for the state fair and had a blast. Kinda pricey but it usually is.
Curtis B.
Always a great time at the fair. Brings back childhood memories.
Ashee Deal
The fair is always a good time. But we are missing the spiral potatoes fries.
Brent Savage
Traditions fulfilled as we went through the exhibits.
Olga Caruso
It was fun, friendly people from the entrance to the exit gate.
Glenn Edwards
I had a great time visiting the fair
Patti Murphy
We saw the greatest Christmas Illuminary light show
Lynne McCue-Hamilton
I went to Salt City Kraftcity. It cost $7 to park. Was clean and well organized with clean restrooms.
Michelle Baker
Went to monster trucks during the State Fair. The stadium was very nice. Seats were good, vendors walk around offering drinks, toys, food, etc. There is a concession stand as well with all kinds of food choices.
Trevor Blair
We’ve been here before for other events, but recently went to the Christmas lights and it was a blast. Our son loved every second of it. The park is very clean and there is more than enough parking. Great staff and always a good time for residents or those just visiting!
Michael Hunter
Took our 2 year old grandughter for the animals. She knew all the sounds they make, but would not dare touch or pet them. She also had a pony ride and enjoyed that, but again no touching or petting.
ICE CREAM was had, strawberry, more than expected for the price.
Make sure you take a lot of cash or have a lot on your debit card. Because if you buy anything to eat or drink, you will need to take out a small loan.
Going on a weekday was nice, the crowds were minimal compared to the weekend and it made it much more worthwhile and tolerable
Carson Evans
Usually a lot of people love to come year round, high means bigger crowds and longer wait times for vendors and food. Overall a great experience! I would recommend to all family’s for a fun night/day out.
Graham Oxborrow
A really nice venue at the new Days of 47 rodeo arena. Seating had sufficient leg room and a variety of concessions options was available.
Kori Rogers
I love going to the fair every year, great family tradition ❤️
Jesus Maton
Very fun place whan the fair is going is hellaFun
J Jones
I had a good time. Was upset the bull riding machine wasn't ready.
Sarah Blu
It's a fair. The animals are fun but there isn't anything super original.
Thomas Wells
It was a fun experience. The demolition derby was alot of fun to see.
True Crony
Parking cost as much as event ticket. Unless you want to walk a mile. I'm frugal so I walked a mile. They could've opened other pedestrian entrances so we could cut across the parking lot, but no. They could've opened more restrooms instead of port-o-pottys, but no. I like some of the remodeling they did on buildings but I prefer vintage architecture. I worked on the cleaning crew years ago. One thing I'll tell you. Be very careful getting in and out of your car. We found money, wallets, watches, bracelets, rings, hats etc. All in the parking lot. Seems like people would lose more at the Fair parking lot than Walmart. Maybe they just don't see it in the dark and weeds? Finding valuables was the best part of cleaning, we did try to return them but mostly we got to keep it because nobody claimed it. Thank you.
Vipin Nair
The fair was fun. Enough rides for the kids. Food and parking is overpriced.
jeff Taylor
awsome place went to look at the new skate park inspired by Tony hawk
Alex Baca
A Salt Lake City Landmark since 1967. It is home to the days of 47 Rodeo, the Utah State Fair, as well as many numerous festivals throughout the year. A great place for family, entertainment, and fun.
Macie Petersen
Great experience at the 47 rodeo and carnival. Great time for my one and two year old. For parents hight minimum for rides are 36" I only found two rides with the minimum but my kids still had a great time.
Vance Sorensen
This is where I learned to drive......... Last week
🏎️ I'm definitely going back when I need to renew my license 🪪 …
Robin Robinette
We attended the reptile expo. Fun to walk around.
Ivan Djambov
A great, clean, and safe place for everyone. Kudos to the current leadership!
Vickie Cutler
We did a 5k event here. They were very prepared and organized!
Marcelo
We had a lot of fun there. It is an amazing place with great events. Definitely worth the money!
Scott Tamano
Amazing exhibits, fun rides good food
Scott M. Stringham
Great venue for its intended purpose. My only complaint is the parking, which is far from sufficient. However, there is a Trax line that stops right in front of the park, so I would recommend parking for free at the park-n-ride and taking the Trax to the venue. This will cost less than parking at the venue and save a huge headache.
MILIN Brignole
We had fun time there, very organized.
Guilherme Pegoretti
Went for the reptile expo! It was great! Tons of fun!
Ian Lankford
Fun every year! The kids love it even the teenager!
Peter Gonzalez
The best skatepark in SLC!
Rees W Bandley
Great event! A wonderful blend of Animals, Crops, Rides, Games and tons of food and drink. A fine tradition celebrating the Great State of Utah, with a substantial amount of "lets get it done" and "look to our future!"
Kiara Allen
I love the utah state fair because my cousin work there
Eleonora Karniayenka
Fun for the whole family. And I had a great time going there on a date. They have fun shows at different times of day.
John Michael Duffy
We were there for the pumpkin Nights, and it was magical. Initially looking in, it doesn't look like much, but don't be discouraged because there are tons of cool places to walk through and explore. They have cute places for little photo ops. It was perfect for my 2 year old, and they had activities set up just for someone his size. Easy to find, parking was good, would recommend.
Jayden Armstrong
Been coming to the state fair for as long as I can remember and I always love it, you get to see cute animals, eat delicious fair food, and my personal favorite the big yellow slide, this year saw "Fluffy" and it made my experience even more worth it.
Jessica Grant
We went to Days of 47 with our three year old twins. It was clean and well run. There was no "bad" seats. We had a really nice time there.
L Grayson
There are coupons for the tickets but after fees and taxes it came to $20 for the ticket. No lines to get in and a good amount of bright festive lights set up throughout. There is a present scavenger hunt, interactive themed light sets, a train ride, hot chocolate/beer/drink stations and there is a cute prize at the end of the scavenger hunt!. It was worth going!
John Heenan
Went in couldn't find what we were looking for no signs pointing to anything just had to drive around until we found it. Looked clean and tidy. Bathroom was not very well keep all urinals had pee in them. Should get auto flushers.
Babette Lowe
Love to walk through and pet they bunnies and kittens
Richard Krulisky
Was in and out of the driver license place fast and made my VA Dr appointment
Sam
We visit this park annually in September for the fairpark. We love the Rodeo and the variety of food. People from different ages have lots of fun.
Megan Hamlen
Fun rides awesome entertainment. Will return again
Joe Burchfield
Great fair for the food. All the good stuff lol
Madison Brakey
Fun night with my family! The lights were cool and creative! I wish they were a little closer together so that it felt more full and bright, but overall really fun! One of the best parts was the live music!
Chris Cross Crafts
Always love the state fair but this year the entries were so few.
Claire Sanford
Such a fun atmosphere! We love going to concerts here. They weren’t slow with security. We got there thinking we weren’t going to have lots of time to relax before the show. We were wrong. So nice and great sound quality. Recommend. 👍🏼👍🏼 …
Jeremy Hill
Enjoyed the show, not much of a selection for food and it was expensive
Houstin Anne
It's a great family place, it is super busy as to be excepted.
Josh G
It was alot of fun for my kids! We were there about an hour and a half and were able to do everything we wanted and give our kids plenty of time to play and see santa. There was alot of room to social distance. It even made it seem like it was just us there at times. I would definitely recommend this event to families.
Riley Hoopes
Always a great time at the days of 47 Rodeo, parking is always crazy so plan ahead
Steve Martin
Went to the Utah State Fair park for my daughter's dance competition. The building we were in was nice and big. Dances took place upstairs and the main floor had plenty of room to social distance. Doors were left open for dine extra ventilation.
Erik Bowen
Went to the days of 47 rodeo and the updates to the grounds were awesome. The seating is comfortable the venue is fantastic. We had a wonderful time. The grounds outside the arena were also well maintained, clean and spacious. There were a lot of great activities and attractions. The restrooms were clean, and the prices were cheap. Easy parking as well. Overall an awesome venue.
Heather Bostrom
Came for the Charley Jenkins concert. Stayed for the Rodeo. 💜 …
Jake Baldwin
Fun place to hang out and see animals. Not friendly on your wallet though. $21 a turkey leg is a bit much and everything else was too much also. Not great for large families on a budget
Osten Maestas
Great time at the fair. Historic place of slc.
Joe Mardesich
I love the state fair and have gone for years, but it is unfortunately getting smaller and smaller as the years go by. Fewer exhibitors, fewer animals, fewer attractions and entries in each area.. Sorry to see it diminish and I worry it will become a thing of the past.
Matt Wilson
Over priced like everything else but fun family times
T. K
The food was pricey. Only a couple of venders had fresh food. Most had sat and dried out. The lemonade was watered down. There was hand sanitizing at all the rides and portable wash stations . It is clear the pandemic is still winning although many are trying to move ahead. Stay well to all
Brandy Blackerby
Always fun times at the fair & Monster trucks!
Tyler Larsen
This was a lot of fun. Felt safe the whole time I was there. Bathrooms were clean and food was bussin. It's expensive, but unique and delicious. They have giant turkey 🍗! …
David Tanner
Such a fun, classic state fair vibe here. I would have to say that the cleanliness has never been crazy good when I’ve visited here, but it’s not too bad for a state fair. I’ve loved going to the Utah State Fair since I was a kid, riding the big yellow slide and seeing all the animals and art. It was fun to go back and see it all again this year. Did not disappoint. And they even had a dog trick show, which was really fun.
Amber Oborn
We love to come to the fair every year! I would advise to bring water bottles that you can refill at the water fountains. It is great to see all the local talent! A mix of animals, creative arts, fine arts, and carnival rides. Upper bowl tickets to the rodeo are free today with admission to the fair. There are so many shows! You definitely don't see it all in 1 day!
Virginia Mitchell
How to make an appointment online to renew my driver's license. Went to the fairgrounds, appointment on time courteous nice worker help me took less than 20 minutes. I am very happy😊😊 …
Larry Drake
I visited the Utah State Fairpark for the REO and Styx concert. Afterwards walked around awhile. The people there seem to be keeping the venue clean and the concert was great! I handsome food at "Annie's Crepes and Cakes" and it was very good and reasonably priced.
Matthew Nuuvali
Easy to navigate and enjoy. Parking was simple as well.
Dustin Watts
My first time here every, I have had an absolute blast. All the vendors and staff are friendly, great deals everywhere. The Barnyard Friends attraction was SUPER AWESOME, love all the baby animals. Some pretty awesome food and rides as well. Definitely will be bringing my family back next year.
Marty FitzPatrick
Excellent 4H exhibits and home made organic preserves and tons of fun stuff for kids !!! It was a good time ez parking lots of interesting booths with many different things from hot tubs to rare rocks shirts jewelry etc .. 👍👍 …
mark wayne
I work nearby so it's great to be able to go and see all the cool stuff mingle with the people drink some beer after work, lots of fun!
Alanna Meek
Honestly, I would enjoy this place a heck of a lot more if the parking wasn't such a nightmare. I went on a workday after work to see the rodeo and fair combo and they had closed the main parking, even though there were lots of spaces left. I dont ride the rides but the lines are always long, so I kind of assume that they're good quality rides, for a state fair. The food vendors always have awesome options and I love all the shopping vendors. I also wish the lighting in the walkways was a little better at night. But I end up back there somehow every year, so I guess it cant be all too bad.
Heather Fountaine
We went for Lumaze and really loved it! The music was festive without being obnoxious, the lights were beautiful, and there was plenty for everyone in our group (ages ranging from 3- 70) to enjoy. I highly recommend it!
mark midgley
Events can get very crowded, but the attendees work together well to make it work. Food lines can be long, be prepared. Area is kept clean and inviting.
John Jacob Madsen
Everything was different going in and the booths were the same and then some. Didn't see the animals.
We had our cousin on a scooter and the front tire was flat. Did return it back and grab a different one.
All in all. Everything turned out alright.
Kennedie B. Savage
This was a really fun family activity. There were so many beautiful light displays. It was really festive and a great Christmas activity. They also had live music the whole time we were there which was wonderful!
Cindi Griswold
Amazing experience! Making Pumpkin Nights a family tradition.
Will Nielsen
Went to the Old Dominion concert on 09/12/19 at the Utah State Fair it's a good sized venue with a great atmosphere. I did enjoy some State Fair food. But didn't have time to explore the other things going on at the Fair. But it was busy with lots to see and do. I've been here several times for the Fair and we always have fun. A great place to make memories
rochelle dickson
Great experience didn't ride the rides because it's was 20-25$ to get in. Thought it was included with the initial entry fee. Would love to ride the rides next year. The animals, vendors and food was all wonderful. The people who worked there were all really kind. They had so many different exhibits. Would go again and would recommend to a friend.
Troy Wilkinson
Went to the Dickens Festival here, the people dressed up (Scrooge, the Queen, etc.) were very fun and engaging! Plenty of entertainment.
Rudy Mestaz
It was great. So much to do. Only 4 stars because the vendors and food are a little pricey. $200( not counting admittance) was enough for a family of 4 to enjoy a few hours.
Rowdy Hall
My family and I were here for the pumpkin walk last October. We parked on the street because we're frugal and don't like to pay to park if there is a $0 alternative. The walk in wasn't terrible. The place was great. It seemed really clean and well maintained. I'd easily go back.
Baylee Hill
Super fun! Games are expensive & the carni's try to rip you off. But, the rides are so much fun, the food is great, but the lines for the rides are insane. But, worth the wait! 🙏🏻 …
John Acquisto
I enjoyed the fair a lot this year. It was very nice. My only complaint was food prices. I know the fair has expensive food prices but this year seemed more than normal. I had a cherry limeade near the concert area that was a good value of $5 (for fair prices). Most lemonade was $7 or more. I saw a bacon wrapped hot dog for $16 (I thought that was high). Expect an average fair food meal to be $25 to $30. Many entrees were $25 plus. Prices aside the food and drink I had was very good. If $50-$60 for dinner for a couple is out of your price range plan to eat out side of the fair grounds. My wife enjoyed the shopping, the sewing, cooking and quilting building and my wife makes me go to the 4-h building to remember her glorious 4h days. We enjoyed the music and even people watching. Admission is $10 adult and $8 seniors. Or you can go to Smith's and get regular admittance for $8, sorry no senior discount at Smith's. So seniors you'll pay the same at the gate as at Smith's. Admission was a good value. Weather on Thursday was great as it will The rides looked like a lot of fun. My wife's back does not allow her to ride so you'll need to find someone else to review them for you. be for the rest of the weekend. So budget for the food (maybe take out a second mortgage) or eat else where but fair food is hard to resist. Have fun but don't miss the fair!
Tony D
Right now they are seeing people by appointment only. When I booked my appointment on their website they only had slots available two weeks out. You can print and fill out the forms before you go in. Once you have the appointment check-in is easy. The staff have very good COVID-19 precautions. The lobby is setup for social distancing and the staff were wiping down after every customer. Roxanne was a very professional and friendly person to work with!
Linds
The pumpkin harvest was so much fun!
Trenton Hills
I like the fair. It has a great fare to get in. It is very fair.
Janine Chaney
The weather was perfect, the rides were fun...
Paul Qualls
Food is always good love seeing the farm animals. But the reason why I gave them a four star and not a five is because of what Gabriel Iglesias said about the vaccine. He said that if you people don't want to get the vaccine you don't have too it's your choice. Problem is until everyone gets the vaccine businesses will close down we'll have to go back to wearing mask and hospital's will continue to over filled. Because of anti-vaxxers and theirs people that need more serious help. Yes I'm happy that he got his vaccine but not happy with what he said.
Ruth Wolfe
Not a nice part of town but at least the wait at the DLD wasn't long
Joan Petersen Rond
The state fair is fun and the venue is perfect.
Connie Marsing
Lots to see and do. Great way to spend the day with family and friends
Hollie Pryor
Super fun for kids of all ages😁 …
Suzette Thomas
Such a beautiful fairground. Good for family picnics
Russ Payne
Fun time at the State Fair, not very crowded like in years past, but that's because of covid-19 still keeping people away from public places. If you keep a mask on and keep a 6ft distance from others you can still enjoy going out for some fun‼️😀 …
Brandon Garner
Our family loves to go to the fair each year. We like to see the animals and go to the circus. It's expensive but we like to make the activity special and get dinner and share a huge fry bread. Memories my family made when I was a kid and now I get to make those memories with my own kids. Our kids especially love to go through the kid farm experience every time!
Tracey Smithee
We went to the sheep dog trials at Soldier Mountain in Midway, UT. This is an annual event and takes place at the same time as Swiss Days. From the time that we parked, this was a fun and memorable event! The parking was $5 but immediately there were golf carts and pleasant drivers to take us to ticketing and admissions. The admission was only $13 per person at the gate. If you buy your admission before the event, you can save $2 and the tickets go on sale in May each year! We had a tremendous time! For newcomers be sure to bring water, sunscreen, and an umbrella to keep the sun off of you! Well worth the trip from Boise.
aspen hopkins
Tons of rides and booths but way too crowded and parking was a mess. There were so many people there that moving through the crowd with a stroller was almost impossible and bathroom lines were insane no matter which one you went to. In the evening, there was only 1 exit for the fairgrounds parking lot so people sat in line for up to an hour just to leave the fair.
I would say could have been managed better but my kiddo had a great time.
L Peterson
The State Fair is always a blast. This year we went to the demolition derby after looking at some exhibits. We had a fantastic time. Layer we ate at Peaches and Cream. Best idea ever!! Fresh peaches with cream or ice-cream. I hope they aren't only open during the fair. I haven't researched other locations.
Julie Larson
Fun rides, good food, lots of animals.
Dennis Hardy
I've been going to the Fair park for about 40 years now. I've seen how it has changed in that time. The parking is good. The new rodeo arena is great, the sound system is nice. Really enjoy all of the facilities, of which many have been refurbished. There have been so many improvements that its really impressive. We attend the state fair every year. We also attend a lot of events here. It's just a great place.
Tod Susaeta
Looks like a good place to learn about computers and various other stuff always have a great variety for the public to learn,!!and if you don't want to learn about computers they offer many more choices.so check it out!
Adam Zwahlen
Always a fun place to take my kid
Vicki Rupert
The fair was great.....lots of great food, lots of carnival rides. Easy to get around. Make sure you go in each exhibit building to see all of the crafts and home arts. Make sure you go see the display on all of the reptile. If you have children there is a kids play area that your kids could play in all day long....great fair!!!
Stephen Whitchurch
It was as good as any year we have gone.
Bryan A. Haley
It was a great experience. It has been years since I’ve been able to go out into a venue of this magnitude without a major anxiety attack from my PTSD. Really enjoyed myself.
Thad Van Ry
Went to the State Fair for the demolition derby. The only reason for the one star deduction is gates were supposed to open at 6:00 PM and they didn't open the arena gates until well after 6:30 PM. The arena facilities are very nice. Nice restrooms and all around a great arena. I've also attended the Days of 47 rodeo here and had a good experience. Of note, on site parking is always full during State Fair time.
Adrieanna Perez
It was fun but cold
SANDRA D FREGOSO
It was fun, to brought my kids
The bracelet cost 30 they can ride
But you still have to give 1 ticket.
Some of the rides requires to pay between 7 and 10 dolls per ride.
Yep. The food was expensive 😩
Kenneth Tupea
This place is an excellent venue for the Utah State Fair! There is plenty of restrooms, free water, and food establishments. The place was clean, felt secure, and we'll organized! The fair itself was great this year! The circus was enjoyable, various exhibits about reptiles, farming, etc was fun for our 9 year old daughter. Although the food prices are elevated, you are allowed to bring in outside food and there are many options if you decide to eat here!
Nery Aleman
Food was expensive... overall it was fun for the family!!!
Nathanael Wright
Great place to go for various events! I've primarily come here for the Scottish Festival the past few years and I've thoroughly enjoyed myself. The facilities are in good shape especially on the insides. In the events that I attended: The Highland Games are held in June every year and the past few have been here. I recommend getting a meat pie and getting in touch with your Scottish culture by finding your Clan.
Oriana Lunceford
Fun place for all sorts of events!
Thomas Kent WGU
As far as State Fair Parts go. This one is quite nice. The people who work there are all very friendly and helpful. . The grounds themselves are usually as clean as can be. When you consider all the high number of people who are going in and out on the time. . And the rides are not part of the State Fair Park itself. We're good and safe. And so I feel that whoever is running that aspect of things at the Utah State Fair has done good and making sure to pick safe and reputable ride. Operators
LouAnn Newton
It was okay it's just less than I thought it would be not very many animals I always go for the animals and the main thoroughfare it was okay just kind of disappointed this year I usually am so excited to go and this year was just so different.
Tracy Rogers
It was another fun-filled year of excitement make sure we don't miss any everything was great animals people concessions rides concerts Rodeo loved it all
Eric Whittaker
We went to the rodeo. The new arena is nice, clean, and organized. The drinks were easy to get. The weather wasn't too hot. Pricing was fine. The only need that I have with the experience is the volume of the PA and music. My ears hurt by the time we left, we couldn't hear each other and it detracted from the rodeo. Other around us thought the same. Overall it was fun, though.
Troy Anderson
Great day at the Scottish Festival. I encourage everyone to bring your own chair as seating is limited.
Kira Wagner
The state fair was amazing and the Rodeo is lots of fun for both adults and kids.
Elizabeth Clark
Really fun! Loved the circus and the extreme dog show! The rides were very fun and nostalgic. The art show was well displayed. The food is overpriced but to be expected. Also the beer garden is just a beer booth.
Brien Arnold
Great family place. Year round events. Fun for kids. The state fair in September is just one of the many things to do here. There is also a reptile fest where you can get free pets. I found a $25 pet store python had a rare trait and her babies would be worth $500 each!
Brooklyn Wild
I had never been to the Utah State Fair before so I didn't know what to expect. But this was such a good experience!! It was clean, had nice bathrooms, great food, lots of activities for every age, well organized and just all around a super good time!! The cute animals were by far my favorite part! I'm glad they let us interact with the animals too. I wish we could've stayed for the actual rodeo.
Pam Carson
Great fun for families. There is so much to see and do and taste! We begin by seeing the home arts with jams and quilts, then the fine arts building, the crafts building with the giant butter sculptures, then work our way to the animals and the giant slide. After a snack we continue to the midway and other events.
Barbara Wolf
It was way scaled back this year because of Covid. No street performers, a lot less booths and not as many activities. Nice that it wasn't super crowded because of the limiting of people. Attended the rodeo and loved that people were spaced out.
Cynthia Moeller
The state fair goes all out, the rides are impressive. The food is everything you’d hope for. I recommend wearing comfy shoes, you’ll be waiting in lines most of the time. But worth the day at the state fair. I also recommend getting the kids all day wristbands cause the tickets will go fast.
Lisa Marie Garrett [Burgess]
Love the events held here every part of the year! We frequent the Monster truck and Motocross rallies in the stadium. So much fun. The Utah State Fair is exceptionally fun and though super overpriced, as all fairs go,... Still worth the trip and investment.
Nikole Hong
Such a fun fairground. Easy access and easy to find parking.
Gayle Rider
It is what it is. They did a great job for being in the middle of Covid. There is 1 food item that was missing, the Navajo tacos. My birthday is during the fair and I always look forward to having one. For a pared down fair it was great.
James Tipton
I went here for the Reptile Expo.. it was fantastic there were lots of venues there with lots of different critters including invertebrates such as tarantulas and scorpions the only issue thatni had there is the truck there that had food ran out of food.. its hard to give a review on a place where so much goes on throughout the year. However as far as the cleanliness of the grounds it was definitely beyond clean for a fairground. There could have been better access to restrooms but i was only at a small section of the fairgrounds so there could be better access to the actual grounds itself when more events go on later this year
Tasha Hoelscher
This is a great place for events. I always love to go for the State Fair every year! They always have lots of entertainment and food options. It is a bit pricey though and you will usually need to pay for parking which was CASH ONLY.
rachel erickson
This was our first time taking our kids to the fair. It was ok..not the most fun thing I've ever done. I guess that could be because we didn't ride the rides. The food is, of course, ridiculously expensive, just like you would expect it to be at a fair. The crowds are worse then Disneyland crowds so I guess lots of other people love going to the fair.
Kevin Greenlese
Not as many venues as last year. The carnival is good but I like looking at the art exhibits. 4-H is great yet they are smaller due to less counties participating this year.
Dale Fowles
Prices versus what you get was outrageous. Turkey drums 22.00 buck each. A lot of vendors not present as they used to be. Hopefully it will be better next year.
Jamie Hirschi
We were here for the scottish festive. It was well set up. I wish the grounds had more shade.
SnomaN- “Snoman”
Came out for Pumpkin nights. Was such a great time. Perfect for the family and kids. They serve beer, an array of food trucks and fair snacks. Very unique experience with even a fire show.
Kieron Sinnette
Great location for any type of event. Large, beautiful, well ventilated, and we'll maintained.
Cherie Clark
The Utah State Fair was a great get away as always
Laura White
A lot of fun!! The shows were good &the circus was worth the whole visit. I felt like the things we watched, (including the pewter booth) during the entire fair were quality, well done.
Adapt Construction & Consulting
We head out to the Fair Park at least once a year for one of the festivals. This year it was Dragon Lights Festival. When you go plan anywhere between 1 to 3 hours to browse the attraction, the craft booths, and the food offerings. It's a good date night. It's also a very nice place to take small children.
Nicole Kline
It was much smaller than expected, definitely not the best state fair that I have ever been to, but it was fun. The food was way overpriced, I do expect prices to be higher at a fair, but that was a bit much.
Miranda Stumph
We went to Pumpkin nights, it was a pleasant surprise. We really had a great time as a family on that "adventure" and seeing the amazing displays! We took advantage of the night owl discount pricing, as it is just so expensive to go during the earlier times. Even after going, it seems that the regular ticket pricing is just a bit too pricey.
Syndie Vernieuw
I took my grandson and we had so much fun the entire day!!
I would like to recommend to every grandparent out there, if you want a fun bonding experience with your grandchildren spend a day at the fair with them. You can make some great memories!! We ended the day with the demolition derby. I'm so blessed!!!
Julie Kuse
Pig races were exciting. Lots of food. Building exhibits were good, photography was awesome. BUT, some of the carnival rides seemed old and needing a facelift. Missing the excitement of a state fair. I've seen better county fairs.
Jill Baeder
Incredibly easy to find the Driver's license division. Very large parking lot. Now that they have a reservation system you can be in and out in 5-10 minutes.
Angie
I love going to concerts here. It's a nice outdoor venue. Lots of food and drink vendors to choose from to bring into the stadium to enjoy before and during intermission between bands. Seating is good. Fun to come early before the concert and stroll thru the fairgrounds. That way you can pick up new sunglasses, various style hats and even a new outfit at some of the stalls. Make a day of it during Utah state fair in September each year. Great family or date activity.
Joseph Steele
Hive music festival was amazing a few groups cancelled last minute like the suicide boys and they never even let the venue know (not cool) fans had to find out on their Instagram, but Post Malone, Flatbush Zombies, Fetty wap and the rest of the performers that made the effort to not only show up but give some mind blowing performances, that has been long over due since Covid shut everything down for the last 18 months. Had a blast can't wait for next year. Big shout out to Select Sound for putting this all together 🙌 🙌 👏👏
Louisa A
Went here for covid testing. Great service and fast! AND our car battery died and they pushed us out of the barn and jump started our car for us. 😂❤️ Kudos to the nurse who pushed us out. He-Man!
2020 is such a great year. 😂 …
Su Boddie
I've never actually been to the Fair. I usually go to the venue because there's a Department of Motor Vehicles on the property and it's always in-and-out for renewing my driver license. Then someone brought the dinosaurs! I had to go see that. It was okay. The main result of my visit is that I'd like to go again when the exhibit is in a much larger space. It's rather like the Ringling Brother's Barnum and Bailey Circus from my youth - they have different set-ups to accommodate the available space and one had never seen the Circus until one saw it at Madison Square Garden where there was also room for the menagerie. Yes, yes, I know but this was 55 years ago, when we should have known better but didn't. But I digress. The dinosaur exhibit was interesting, I learned some new things which I wouldn't have thought possible. Smile. Maybe I'll hear about it being set up someplace bigger. I hope so. I'd like to go. The Fairpark itself is easily accessible, has lots of parking and can be reached by light rail and bus. Perhaps I'll actually go to the fair some day. I'll let you know.
Matt VanWagoner
I dunno man, it was fun and all but the carnies seemed kempt and not a single one offered me a drink from their flask of mystery. I had fun and all but it was just missing that cherry on top
Santiago Gutierrez
I love the venue! Been going since I was a kid. The fair is always great! It was beyond busy on the last Saturday evening and night but still fun. Gotta love fair food, too!
maria tello
We were there for pumpkin nights in October and it was awesome. The pumpkins look cool, there is a mix of artificial and real pumpkins. I had no clue what to expect since it was the first time they had it in Utah. It was over all a fun experience and parking was cheap, restrooms were clean and the staff was helpful :)
Katie Blodgett
Nice new arena for bigger events. Rodeo was there, complete with a carnival, and a week later I was back for a 5K - grounds are nice but nothing spectacular, so if you're not in the arena it's not terribly impressive. $10 for parking, but harder to find on the street, plus you never know about leaving your car in that neighborhood (maybe it's fine and I'm just paranoid) so you feel obligated to pay to park.
Danyon Greymoon
I went here for the State Fair and it wasn't anything special. Maybe I'm a little biased towards my hometown because we put a lot of effort into our fares, and I was expecting more from Salt Lake. However the fairgrounds were very well organized and not too dirty. I just wouldn't say the experience there I had was good.
David Allart
Warning: the exhibits close down around 9:00 p.m. while the food, rides and vendor's run till midnight. The onslaught of vendors diverted our extended family enough that by evening time we had only seen half the exhibits and the rest were closed.
Great options: there were golf carts, motorized wheelchairs, scooters and regular wheelchairs and little red flyer wagons for rent per hour or half our all day.
My wife has knee and foot problems so it was awesome to have a scooter for half a day.
