Reviews of Memorial House
Kortnie Aldous
This is a charming, classic venue! We were so happy we chose to have the wedding reception here. It feels so secluded and exclusive. I loved that there was indoor and outdoor space. The staff was great to work with and included all of our requests. I also feel like this is more unique than most venues and I love that it's a historic building. Highly recommend.

It was a really great venue for my wedding! Everything was perfect. I didn’t know about the history of this place. I sent my brother a photo of us and he pointed out that there was a figure in the background. There was a female ghost at the wedding. I searched it up if this has happened before and there is a tragic back story of a bride to be that passed that will show up. We had purple lights for my event which apparently attracts the female ghost. The ghost was seen coming out of the bride room. Which was only used by me. No one else. SO COOL! I’ll include pics!

I love that I'm right downtown but you would never know it surrounded by trees, gardens, water features, bridges, monuments, all in a gully looking up at the capital building and its a very clean park. Private events and community events are hosted in the venue, accessible, available, active. My favorite place~

Lindsi and her team did an amazing job helping us plan and set up for our wedding. They were attentive to any changes we needed to make or questions we had.
The venue is absolutely beautiful! The main hall is spacious while also cozy enough to make any event feel comfortable. If we could get married again, we'd go back to Memorial House!

We had our wedding here in December and it was absolutely magical! The Memorial House is cozy and quaint and the Christmas decorations are beautiful. Ellie was attentive and always ready to answer our questions. She went above and beyond to make our dream day a reality. If you are considering the Memorial House for your wedding, do it!

I am a local wedding DJ (uNiteLife DJ Services) and I performed for a wedding here in 2018. The venue and location is absolutely gorgeous! The ceremony was held at the 'Meditation Chapel' just across from the main building. It is surrounded by beautiful trees and scenery that really added to the atmosphere. Inside, a beautiful reception hall along with rooms for the entire bridal party to get ready. The entire staff was on point with everything they did, especially the cocktail and dinner hour. Management was delightful to work with and they made sure every detail was taken care of for both the newlyweds and myself as a vendor. All in all, I loved working here as a wedding DJ and I look forward to serving more of their future event clients! If you have an event or wedding coming up, definitely check them out!

The venue was beautiful and was the perfect size to accommodate my guests. The staff was so friendly and easy to work with. They went the extra mile to ensure that my day would be everything that I wanted. The grounds and building were so photogenic and were the perfect backdrop for our event. Would highly recommend this venue to anyone needing a picturesque location for an event.

My wife and I had such an amazing experince with the team at Memorial House! We saw right away they are such a safe space for all kinds of couples looking to plan their special day. The team was so responsive and receptive to our needs. Dawn was able to explain everything to us clearly, in a timely manner and help us achieve all of our dreams for our special day. She helped us pull it all off in just 14 days. The venue was beautiful and the team keeps the inside and out in such great condition. The flowers, stone, and house were a great backdrop; there is no bad angle for photograpy in the house. We will be forever grateful for the memories we can keep coming back to for years to come.

Went for a meeting (though we did have out wedding reception here 27 years ago). Well maintained over the years. Great location for meeting breaks or wedding guests.

I planned my sister's intimate ceremony at Memorial House and they were so great to work with! Dawn was very helpful with all my questions and the support staff at the ceremony helped it run smoothly. It is a gorgeous place for any event.

Outstanding service and location! I performed in the space for a corporate holiday party and it was beautiful. Great venue for weddings and business events for sure!
Sarah LeNoir
Perfect private event space! Lindsi is amazing to work with and the space was perfect for a corporate lunch we hosted for 120ish people. Would absolutely rebook if we go back to SLC!
Catherine Lay
Memorial House hosted our Corporate Christmas Party this year and it was beautiful. This was my first event that I had done for my company, so renting a venue like this was new to me.
They had the place 'decked-out' with beautiful and classy holiday decor. Lindsi, our coordinator was a great help and walked me through the process nothing fell through the cracks. Very friendly and professional! Easy to work with and very communicative! Our event was a great success!

Nearly everyone that showed up for my wedding, including vendors and the wedding party had a hard time getting through the gate.
During our private last dance, 15 minutes before we were scheduled to start cleaning up we had everyone go out so we could be alone. In our videos the lady from the venue was cleaning the reception hall.
Aside from that everything was beautiful and we had a lovely party.
Sheri Vaughan
Nice place for a leisurely walk and to view a little history of those who have served and gave their lives for us. Dirt trails are behind the park and follow up City Creek.
Brady Emmett-Hulet
We held our wedding celebration here, a year after it was delayed due to Covid-19. We held the ceremony down the path from the White Monument, in a nice clearing by the fountain. The area was intimate and delightful. Our reception was held at the Memorial House itself, and it was a beautiful venue with lots of indoor and outdoor space. We and our guests had a blast.

We just finished hosting our daughter’s wedding and reception at the Memorial House. The building and outside access was perfect for a late Spring wedding with unpredictable weather—we happened to luck out and have beautiful temperatures. We also had the piece of mind that we could enjoy the space inside if the weather had been rainy. The staff was helpful in planning and executing with rearranging the room (after the ceremony) —we appreciated their pleasant responsive help. The whole experience ended up being stress free—which meant we could focus on the people celebrating with us that day! It’s perfect to have a venue where guests can park right in front!

Great venue and a great price (they even included a set amount of linens as part of the package.) The venue was perfect for my wedding of 170 guests, and the park made for some incredible pictures. On top of that they were very accommodating with whatever I needed for my big day. Elizabeth was quick to reply to every question and solutions to every problem. She even handled my chaotic family with finesse. Highly recommend this venue.

Memorial House in Memory Grove ended up being the dream venue we didn’t know we wanted or needed. It was perfection! It has all the charm you would want with a more vintage styled venue with the natural scenery of Memory Grove as the backdrop. Dawn was a dream to work with in getting all the details nailed down perfectly! We were filled with continual questions and requests and Dawn handled each quickly and thoroughly. The venue included a lot more for a smaller price tag than most venues and it didn’t come at the expense of quality or execution. Staff was on hand the day of our wedding and made the extra touches absolutely perfect! We can’t say enough about how happy we are with the way our wedding went at this amazing venue! We also want to say the staff and venue overall were amazingly inclusive and supportive of our LGBTQ+ community. It was an honor to have our wedding at a venue that made our day feel special just like any other wedding! Thank you for being inclusive!!

We had our wedding in July at memorial house on the south lawn. Dawn and all of the staff were so flexible and helpful! We had to change our wedding date 3 times due to covid and they were so wonderful! Everything turned out beautifully! They were very aware of keeping everyone safe with covid precautions and also very kind!
Izolde Rhodes
We hosted our wedding dinner at the Memorial House last week and were absolutely blown away by how beautiful everything was! The staff was marvelous, flexible, and accommodating and we could not be happier with how our event turned out, right down to the last detail! Our event was comfortable and cozy, and the space and set up were perfect!
Maquelle Goettman
I had my reception here in May and it was perfect in every way. It was everything I had hoped for for my special day. The venue is beautiful and we got some great photos there as well as out in the park. I highly recommend this venue. My husband and I got married in the Salt Lake Temple and it took us maybe 5 minutes to drive to the Memorial House from the temple. It's a great quiet location in downtown Salt Lake, you don't even feel like you are in the city. We chose Elizabeth's catering from the list we were given and were very pleased with them. Everyone loved the food and it was presented so well. The Memorial House was just my style and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet quaint reception venue in a quiet grove of Salt Lake City! Jada helped us and she was great.
M Giebitz
Pleasant historical venue situated in a beautiful park.
Natasha Asmus
A beautiful location for events, parties or wedding receptions. Located in Memory Grove, there is no parking in area (it is gated, with an attendant there to let only authorized vehicles in), so you would need to park down the street or above the venue on the hill by the State Capitol Building and walk down. The venue would be better in the summer, there are really pretty french doors that open up to the patio which can have additional seating. I attending a wedding here and it was especially nice so the kids could play across the street in the park!
Rick Magness
First of all, this is the perfect venue in a perfect setting. From the time we first met the staff, they were very accommodating and nice. Everything worked out great and speaking as a "Father of the Bride", this was perfect for my daughter and new "son-in-law"! I recommend anyone considering this venue to book early. It will make a beautiful lifetime memory!

Our initial meeting with Memorial House was as easy as could be but then halfway through the year of our engagement they changed their manager. After Katie was no longer handling our wedding, everything was disorganized, uniformed, and gave me genuine concerns on our wedding day. The first impression we got of the new manager was an informal email asking us for money. Following that email was even more frustration due to lack of communication on their part. The rehearsal lunch we had planned had been double booked and we had to rearrange multiple things due to their oversite. The venue itself was beautiful and it was still a lovely day but the new manager as of late 2018 was very impersonable and short with my family and friends trying to help clean up, and didn't seem to enjoy her job. She did not make me feel confident in the venues abilities to provide exactly what I needed.
Russell Kloepfer
Went here for a beautiful wedding and reception. Beautiful location, nestled on the hill. There's parking along the street that worked great for the whole crowd of 100. I don't know if it always would... But if you come, know that the road does continue up for quite a way for parking (if you're there for an event).

I've been to several events at the Memorial House... a work party and a wedding reception. The pros are: it's a nice place, historic and in a beautiful setting. I'd say the biggest drawbacks are the parking situation, the setup for good sound is bad and the parking situation is deplorable. Street parking all the way down the block... difficult to access up narrow streets...
Loren Teryl Green
My best friend had his wedding at this venue. The secured parking was nice and the open space really lent itself to a great dance party as the night went on. I highly recommend it for social gatherings.
Cambrie Kida
Great staff to work with. Dawn was very accommodating and was helped us get everything planned. Anna and Emma were fantastic hosts and were a great help the night of the event.
Jeremiah Zolman-Nacey
I love, love, love coming here with my dog. It is absolutely my favorite dog park in the valley. It is technically not off leash, but that has really not stopped anyone. The dogs are mostly good, and the people are generally good. I have no major things to say about this at all. I love it and I love the culture.
Bethany Rubio
Beautiful place to have your wedding. Staff are great to work with. Very knowledgeable about weddings and walk you through the process. My son was just married there and it was amazing.

A nice venue for receptions with a small crowd. There is a separate area for food, a bride's room, and outdoor seating.
Reagan Wing
Parking is a nightmare if you aren’t visiting for a specific event but my wife and I really enjoy walking though/spending time here. It’s a quaint escape from the hustle and bustle of the city.
TJ Riddle
Beautiful area just under the Capitol. Great for bringing dogs, and a short hike up to the Capitol provides a beautiful view of the valley.
