Reviews of Portland Spirit Office & Private Event Dock

It was a great time and the food was great. We went for our anniversary. It is a bit expensive and makes a nice event. It was very cold 🥶 when we went but you can't hold the weather against them. Say a few of the Christmas boats 🚢 and had a nice cruise 🛳 up and down the river. Next time we'll go in the summer. …

We did the Sasquatch boat ride this past weekend and a lunch cruise a few months ago from the other dock. Both were fantastic! The Sasquatch ride was amazing and so fun. Super interactive and interesting and the guide was just an overall nice dude who was excited about life. We will definitely be back again for that one next year and recommend any boat ride from the Portland Spirit!

Originally booked for the Columbia river boat ride but they called and said that boat was not running the week I was visiting. They were able to switch me over to this cruise at no additional cost. I took my girlfriend out for a date while on vacation in Portland. It was a fun experience and there were lots of photo opportunities while cruising along the river.

Portland Spirit has some amazing trips down the Willamette and Columbia! We've eaten dinner on the Portland Spirit traveling the Willamette, brunch on the Columbia on the Sternwheeler, and pictured here, photos from our Big Foot adventure on a jet boat. Every trip is amazing and well worth it. Make a reservation for one of their trips, whatever fits your needs, and have a fantastic time!

Four of us, two couples, did the July 4th cruise in Portland. The food was really good. There was something for everyone to choose from. It was pretty packed and sometimes the service was slow, especially near the end. The cruise itself was good, but I've been on the Gorge one and I highly recommend that one if you're looking for sight-seeing. Going outside for the fireworks was nice, but very packed. There were a few very tipsy guests! It was a bit chaotic, some of the waiters were coming out to track down those who hadn't paid yet. But the view of the fireworks was nice. I recommend it, but if I go back, it'll be the one in the Gorge.

We really enjoyed our day on the lunch cruise. It was so fun and we saw some great sights. The food and drinks were great and we will definitely. E back for the dinner cruise in the future!
Charity Bray
We had such a wonderful experience. The food was delicious. The view was amazing and our waitress was accommodating. We are going back to try the brunch soon and I'm sending my son and his gf on a dinner date in a couple weeks.
Beth Buckley
If you've never gone on the Christmas day cruise then it's a must do for next year! We enjoyed the buffet. My favorite was the prime rib and the parsnips which were cooked to perfection. Tea and coffee are free, other drinks cost extra. There was a pre-boarding photo taken for an additional $15. The trip was so gentle I didn't even know when we left the dock. There was live piano entertainment. We very much enjoyed relaxing and viewing Portland from the water, beautiful! We met the captain who was polite and informative. Overall the cruise was a hit with me and family.

I was in a group of 8 and we enjoyed our time together but we all agree this experience is better as a couple for a romantic evening. Live piano music from start to finish. Salad entre and dessert included on price but they will charge for any single upgrade you want to make like if you want to upgrade the complementary cheesecake to tiramisu is $7 more , you want a window view for 2 is $30. And the list go on. But is recommended because you can watch how people live around the river and the bridge going up as the boat crosses if you walk outside.

Champagne brunch two-hour cruise. Boarding thirty minutes prior to departure. Buffet and table drink service available while docked and continues into the cruise. Live pianist on two levels. Bring your own headset for cruise narration.
Daniel Kraft
Fun trip down the river, nice atmosphere. Live music on board was nice and not too loud. Pretty cute.
The food wasn’t that great, not bad though. You’re paying for the experience.
Jonathan Thompson
Had a great time for my wife's birthday. Food was pretty good and the views were even better. It was fun to walk around the boat and hang out on the outside top deck and see all the lights after the sun goes down. Drinks were a little high priced for us but we still had a great evening. I would definitely recommend.

Omg! I felt like a kid in a candy store. My planned “me time” led me to this website. The idea of dinner on the boat sounded marvelous to me. I was mesmerized by the night lights of Portland City. The beautiful homes that graced the river side. The pictures from this exploration on my social
Media page made friends want to visit Oregon.
Bryant Delvis
Fun boat party! Three levels, 2 inside and a viewing deck with couchs. 2 dance floors and it seemed like plenty of seating. The food was of low quality for this event. Once everyone is on it can take awhile to get a drink.
Lin Z
It was my first time on this boat for a dinner cruise and I would recommend it! The food was fresh and delicious and the cruise up the river and back had beautiful views.
Ted Martinez
We had a company event on the Portland Spirit and it was fantastic! The staff was friendly and the views off the Willamette were spectacular. Definitely recommend to try at least once.
Christine Manongsong Alvarado
We definitely enjoyed our experience with Portland Spirit Cruises. They made us feel very special by sending a greeting as we celebrate our honeymoon and singing a song for us too! We went here for brunch and the serving is buffet style but with a server (for health protocol reasons). The Spirit boat is clean and cozy. Definitely a must-try if you wanna see the beautiful Portland. I think we saw 13 different bridges and got to enjoy the interesting homes there as well. The whole trip was about 2 and a half hour.

We charted the Willamette Spirit for our company's Christmas get together. The staff were very clear and helpful in preparing for the event, so we knew what to expect. On the evening of the event, staff were friendly and helpful. The bartender was great, both personality and at mixing awesome drinks, and the food was excellent. The pianist was very good, too. Everyone had a great time, and even came into work the next day with lingering good spirits. Would definitely recommend!!

My Mother suggested we try this lunch cruise! My daughter never been to west coast before! We had an amazing staff, talented pianist, fun waiter, the chicken was amazing, everyone was super friendly seem to love their job, which is becoming rare these days! Highlight was Captain Todd letting her take the helm for min and really drive the SPIRIT! She loved it they gave her a certificate too! A++++ highly recommend for ALL ages!
Andrea Rostad
Fun afternoon cruise. Our bartender was very nice and catered to my groups needs well. We enjoyed the cheese platters and were so happy to get more bread with them to go with the extra cheese we still had! The crew was great too. I would recommend!

My couple got married on the crystal Dolphin in Portland. The staff was unbelievable and were even kind and courteous to the vendors that came aboard. Highly recommend! For more pictures of this lovely couple’s intimate wedding visit stunningportraitphotography.com

Service was amazing and top notch. All the staff is extremely friendly. Everything was constantly sanitized for safety and all Covid-19 measurements are put in place. Highly recommend this cruise if your looking for a great date!

We did the Cinnamon Bear trip with our toddlers (almost four). Everyone was so friendly, the mood was really fun and festive. Service was great, kids activities were great. The views were awesome. Breakfast was okay, but it wasn’t the main attraction. We will go again next year because the kids had a total blast.

Had an unpleasant neighbor on the boat and relayed this information to a team member because it was my first experience but it was a memorable for not so good reasons.
3 days later I received an unexpected phone call because I never left my information. They asked for me to come back with my family and enjoy a new experience.
I was very thankful for the gesture.
The food was OK! Pre cooked but flavorful and bottomless mimosas! Beautiful scenery!
Melissa Pacheco
The cruise was a lot of fun and the staff was wonderful. The only thing that bothered me was the tipping for our waitress, they wanted us to tip over $100 because that is 20% of what we paid for the entire cruise! She was amazing, but only brought us drinks because we got our own food from the buffet. I even asked if they share the tips with all of the staff on the ship and they said no, only the bussers and waiters. I am always a very generous tipper because I believe they have a hard job and sometimes have to deal with awful people, but this was a little too much.
Mishi
Great staff, food, and drinks! We brought our own karaoke machine and had lots of fun!
Sarahanne Reischauer
Food was delicious and so were the drinks. Best 3 hour company event I’ve had in a while.
Kim Kasch
Wonderful day on the water looking out at Portland, “Bridgecity” Oregon. The food was delicious, the service was quick and friendly. Be ready for bottomless mimosas and more treats than I can mention
Olga Gulyy Cherchenko
The staff was amazing, courteous, helpful. Great table service, friendly waiters and inviting captains. Beautiful views from the Willamette River, we saved some spots on the map to check out. Thank you for the great service!
Samantha Jacks-Gunn
My husband and I planned the dinner cruise at Cascade Locks. It was pretty awesome. We added the admiral package and was taken up stairs to a window seat. They had music playing similar to Frank Sinatra and coincidentally "our song" was playing when we were sat at our table. The food was very good. Portions weren't very big but was very tasty. Our waitress was Ginger and her and the other staff didn't let us go without anything. They were all wonderfuland attentive.
We made our way out to the deck and then to the top of the boat to sit privately. It wasn't very crowded we had the back of the boat to ourselves for quite some time. The captain. Was also great and knowledgeable. The only thing that would have made it better would to have the same music playing indoors quietly playing on the upperdeck.outdoors. There was plenty of room. For a slow dance. We would DEFINITELY do this again.
Alhaj ousmane Ado
We took a dinner cruise on the Multnomah River. Food was excellent, service so friendly and live piano player played so many types of songs, which set the mood nicely. Wasn't too crowded and we got to walk around. From top deck, we could see so much, however, it was dark and only places with lights were visible on the shoreline. Our cruise was in Feb., so a dinner cruise in late spring to fall would have been in the daylight allowing a lot more to see. Had a cute little gift shop where we bought artistic postcards.
Lacey Forster
My boyfriend and I had an amazing experience here on the evening dinner cruise of Portland. Our waitress Maddie was outstanding and super helpful with giving us ideas and suggestions on which drinks and dishes we wanted to try. The views from the front, back, and windows always had something to look at throughout the whole cruise. The food was good and the drinks were great, and strong! We will definitely be coming back to try the brunch cruise.
Subramaniam Madhesu
We had a nice lunch cruise today to celebrate our son's birthday. Absolutely no complaints and my family loved our time here. This is definitely must try if you live around Portland in anytime of the year
Vanessa
July 2021 (Portland Brunch Cruise) - This was an amazing experience from start to finish! It was our very first time and we will definitely do these again sometime. We had family from out of state visiting and they loved it. The service was great, including assisting one of our passengers who had limited mobility. All staff members were friendly and made sure we had everything we could possibly need. The food was good, the AC was a nice touch, the views were fun, it was an overall fantastic experience!
September 2022 (Columbia river site seeing cruise) - We loved it!
Alan Hutson
Nice crew. Food and beverages available. Sound system could be improved.
Rock Davidson
Great experience on the paddle boat floating on the Columbia River. Beatiful sights you may never see driving in the car.

Went for our 20th anniversary. The cruise itself was absolutely amazing. The boat was clean, and the weather was perfect.
We did a dinner cruise.
The drinks are a tad watered down, unless you go to the bar and tip the bartender.
The food is well..... yes it's food.
Effectively you're given several options for dinner course (chicken, beef, ect)
Now, keep in mind this is a ship galley, cooking for at least 100 to 200 people. It is a herculean task to make food "perfect" for that many people in a very compressed period of time and is further complicated by the fact that you have limited facilities. So the food was mediocre at best.
I would not hesitate to take another cruise. I WOULD NOT do another meal cruise.
Amanda Couch
Everything about our experience was great! It started off with a nice reminder text with the location and boarding time. I thought it was really helpful. After arriving I was pleased to see they had their own parking lot! very convenient for downtown Portland. The staff greeted us right away and we waited as they took everyone's photo before boarding the boat. Multiple members of the staff greeted us and chatted on our way down to boarding. After entering we were seated at a nice window seat and our server came over immediately with a snack tray and took our drink order. She came back promptly with our mimosas and explained how the menu worked. As it is usually buffet style but due to covid it was platted. We were able to order as much as we wanted and could order just bacon or just crab as well (which I did many times) the presentation of all of the food was great and the flavors were all really good, anytime we wanted more of anything it was very fast to come out. Mindy our server was on top of making sure our drinks were never empty and did an amazing job of checking in often. The bartender also walked over to fill our drinks as well and chatted with us. I was pretty excited and full before the boat even departed! As we took off from the dock they announced that we need to go back to the dock to pick up two late passengers, which I thought was actually pretty nice of them to turn around and go get them. No one else seemed to care either. As we cruised towards the Sellwood area we decided to get up and go check out the different areas of the boat. We went up on the top deck where it was nice to hear they were talking about a few of the sights and where we were. They had some nice seating on the top deck and we were able to snag a seat on their sectionals. It was a lucky day for us and it didnt rain and it wasnt to windy. After coming down from the top deck they had a cute platter of desserts ready for us! I loved having a little sample of everything. Overall I had a great time! I cant wait to come back to do it again!! From the food, staff and experience everything really exceeded my expectations.
AV G
Fabulous lunch cruise. Well worth the cost especially if you book 10+ passengers!
Katie Autry
Absolutely incredible! Went along for a company holiday party.
The staff was exceptional, the crew skilled, and the food was absolutely divine. Best I've eaten in ages.
Mary Traveler
Educational. Nice tour if you find a soft chair! Not as new looking as the picture. But worth the price.

My mom and I had our Mother’s Day 2020 Portland Spirit cruise canceled last year and had to rebook. They offered a gift card with no expiration date, which we took.
I have to mention that my mom is also handicapped with a power chair, and it was one of THE best experiences we’ve had with accommodations.. I mean, they went above and beyond to make me and my mom comfortable as possible. Thanks to the Portland Spirit crew, we absolutely loved it!
James Cleverdon
The Portland Spirit is a paddlewheel ship that was doing holiday dinner runs on the Willamette. Nice ship and fun crew. We had the steelhead and tenderloin dinners. The trout was properly cooked and lightly seasoned. The beef tenderloin came with a peppercorn sauce that was spicy but didn't overwhelm the meat. Add good potatoes and nice rice pilaf for two good dinners. For dessert we paid extra and tried the spiced apple cake and chocolate truffle cake. Both were good.
Steven Jendro
Cruise was amazing. Coming from b out of state, this was an excellent way to see the sights along the river. The crew was incredibly friendly and accommodating. Dinner was amazingly well done. Definitely recommend taking this cruise for anyone that would like a relaxing evening on the river
Johnna Rippetoe
We did the New Years Cruise, a little spendy, especially since a full meal wasn't offered. The appetizers that were, though, were really good. Fun night, beautiful sights, impressed with how far up the willamette we went.
scott shelton
We had a great time with the family.
Excellent customer service on the phone.
Cruise staff was friendly and very helpful.
Food was very good..
We all really enjoyed the trip.
Thank you!!!!
Nancy
The views were beautiful and the staff were professional and nice.
Jenny Tackett
The food was amazing and the Captain's narration of the trip was knowledgeable and fun. We came from Cascade Locks all the way back to Portland, an all day trip, and had a great time the whole trip. Made some great family memories.
Steve W
It was ok. Wife and I had a good time and the food was good. That said, we had some awkward moments with other guests and sight seeing was ok but nothing spectacular. Might do it again but maybe a different boat or tour.
Jenn Adams
The service was subpar. Asked a question and was told they would come back and they didn't come back with the answer, but came back for a different reason. When we pointed out they never came back with an answer they got snotty with us.
Other than that the cruise was lovely and air conditioned on a nice hot day in Portland.
Genevieve Bostick
My hubby and I have celebrated anniversaries & birthday's on the Portland spirit. They always make it a very awesome & special experience. The evening tour on the Spirit, going down and back up the Willamette, and going under all of our beautiful bridges, which you'd never see otherwise. It is really magical, BUT esp in the evenings. (Bring your coats, even in the summer.) Its absolutely astounding. For one trip, we did the Columbia Gorge dinner on the steernwheeler, in it's self is something else also. The views up and down each river, are well worth the money and the memories.
They take pictures, at an additional cost you can get copies, of course. I think its kind of neat, it's the little things. Personally. The food is always.. well everytime -we've- been, is extraordinary. Even the salad, seriously though!! It's top notch and well worth it. Every penny.
Live amazing pianist & great staff (for most part, seems like some were bent out of shape for having to work Christmas eve, idk but I know our tip was worthwhile)
Peter Franzke
Great Easter family cruise. Staff and Captain were very friendly. Kids are allowed to stear the ship when accompanied by a parent. Excellent choice for adults and children. This run as it was on Easter was a family atmosphere and good time.
Rudy Venturi
Nice diversion from the usual grind and a leisurely way to enjoy the Portland riverfront. The crew was extremely nice and welcoming as we boarded, though one was rude and dour as we waited to disembark. She seemed to be frustrated at dealing with an elderly passenger in a wheelchair, which is a pretty good indicator that you need to find another line of work. We didn’t eat on board but the food looked passable and there’s a bar for whose who are inclined. Get there early if sitting outside on the upper deck is important to you, as the seating there is extremely limited.
Douglas Stout
Excellent luncheon cruise! Good selection of well prepared lunch options. Very relaxing trip on the Willamette River, with great views though the windows and even better ones from the observation deck. Very friendly and helpful crew. Altogether a great experience. I will definitely go again!
Jeff Hilbert
Really enjoyed this dinner cruise experience on June 19th. Everyone from the Captain to the wait staff were great. The food wasn't too shabby either.
Trump Supporter Ann
I love the bridges tour. It's a jetboat that goes to the Columbia and covers all the bridges in the city. It's pretty fast, and they give a lot of information. That runs may-sept. The spirit siteseeing cruises are slower paced and run year around. Each cruise is 1.5-2 hours long.
anthony payne
I was very fortunate to attend a company holiday party aboard the Portland Spirit. Had there not been so many people getting obnoxiously drunk it would have been very romantic. The food was next level outstanding. The wait staff was very attentive and professional. If you have have the money to take this 3 hour cruise.... Do it.
Queen B
My companies Christmas party was on the Sternwheel and it was amazing. The staff is fabulous. The food is on point. The atmosphere is great. I had a really good time. I would do it again in a heartbeat.
Vladimir Chavez
My wife took me there for my birthday and I loved it.
Good experience for any kind of celebration 🍾
I recommend this experience 👍🏽 …
Crystal Conklin
This was a great experience! The food was excellent! We want to go again in the daytime. It was expensive but very worthwhile.
Brandon Howe
The food is easily 5 star quality. The service is top notch. Great views from both observation decks. They also have piano music as well.
Christina Newby
Lovely brunch cruise. The food was amazing and I was full all day. Our waiter was friendly and attentive.
Sig's Mom
A great night spent with the boat and staff! Absolutely beautiful scenery and great food!
Christie A
Loved the outing! Learned lots of fun random facts but I won't spoil it for you!
Mrs Chávez
Perfect for my husband's 30th birthday! Brunch was amazing!! Definitely will be back!
Bahadur Karahin
Overall quality was only fair, and the prices for food and drink were anything but. Maybe if you sneak them onboard you could save yourself the unfair prices, but the safe thing would be to eat before you go. Mostly friendly crew, with a salty, bearded old man of the sea type captain as plus on my vessel.
Carissa Campos
I've taken the dinner cruise twice and both times were lovely. The food was excellent and filling. It's a very peaceful way to see part of the city and connect with the company you're in. No media. My first cruise on the Portland Spirit had a pianist on a grand piano, and the second on the Willamette Star I believe was the same talented woman playing keyboard and occasionally accompanying the serving staff who would serenade us. Very entertaining and enjoyable. Room for improvement: the bathroom on the Willamette Star had a horribly strong odor of ammonia from urine that had clearly been there some time. Also this being a rather expensive cruise I would like to be given an option for dessert. I don't eat dairy and if we wanted anything other than cheesecake it cost an additional $7/person. The captain and crew mate were friendly and let my son have his picture taken with them.
Vanessa Valdez
Great trip!! Fun and knowledgeable host that narrates portions of the cruise. Wonderful views of Seattle and the Harbor. Wished it could of been longer because we enjoyed it so much.
Taylor Broussard (Taylor)
The cruise lasted from 7pm to 9:30pm. There was a live pianist, we got a window seat on the ground (idk if that's the right term) floor and the whole ride was beautiful. I would definitely recommend for a date, party, or business gathering!
Dana Campbell
Wonderful cruise on the Paddlewheeler! Nice people and smooth cruise.
Ukrainian Nation
2nd year going with portland spirit. Probably the best place to go on a dinner Cruise/date or any event in portland. I love it here. Romantic, clean, friendly. The food/drinks/sweets were all sooo good. Definitely recommend to book a cruise with portland spirit. They got brunch cruise, lunch, dinner and sightseeing cruises.
Rhonda Dunham
Service was excellent. Dessert was amazing. Captains narrative was great. Recommend for special occasions. Take jacket gets chilly in eve. Overall great experience.

Great experience and very friendly staff, hats off to the Captain for running a tight ship. Good food but I probably wouldn't order the fish again.
Liana Fatani
Experience is great ! Food needs improvement, children under two or with disability should be free especially when he can’t eat the food provided.
Kim Critelli
This was a wonderful experience. Beautiful landscape, interesting narration. The crew was friendly and professional. I highly recommend this experience for a fun outing.
Elizabeth Brenneman
Such an enjoyable cruise! The dinner was delicious. Great customer service. Nice bar. Comfortable! Not too packed, good amount of space. Great seating up on the top deck if you choose to go up there.
T. R.
We love their dinner cruises. They are very romantic and the views are gorgeous.
John Dembinski
Extensive park with several walking trails. The pedestrian signage was a little confusing, but the free shuttle helped me navigate the huge park with no problems. Will definitely visit again.
Sharron Orr
Had a wonderful Xmas party on board. Good was great. Dessert was ok. Staff was INCREDIBLE!!!
Daphnie Delorme
My husband and I have dined with Portland spirit cruises a few times. This was our first stop on our honeymoon and we had an amazing experience! They catered to our allergies and had the best atmosphere, service and amazing food and entertainment! We drive from Olympia to get here and it’s so worth the drive we’ll absolutely continue to book with them whenever we need a night away! I’m currently working with Justin as our last cruise we missed due to a car accident on the way and traffic stopped, I knew this would be a long shot but I thought I’d ask if we could reschedule. I got an email the very next morning asking what date works for us. We’re so excited and beyond thankful for their crew. This is a MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE!
launa lowery
I have been on the cruise several time. The buffet was out of this world! The food was fantastic!!!
Michael Buscho
I got to visit the Portland Spirit on a sunny windy day and when It was time for a cruise it was dark and cloudy but the cruise was absolutely phenomenal! they have an amazing staff, and they know exactly what they're talking about and what they're selling you they're not selling you a thing they're selling you an experience. My girl friend and I had an amazing journey on the Columbia and it's one that we will surely remember forever
Charlotte Wise
I have cruised with the Portland Spirit twice. First (2017) pre-pandemic, and just this last weekend "post"-pandemic (2022).
Thank you all for another great experience. We did the Sunday Brunch cruise both visits. The service was attentive and the buffet was great. We had large group reservations both times. Shout out to MORGAN in booking! She is lovely and wonderful to work with!
Thank you for continuing to offer a gem of an experience on the heart of Portland. The kids and us had a great time.
Diane Bogenhagen
We had a wonderful time on the stern wheeler last night.
Veronica Manderjano
The ride was a beautiful one and the hospitality is always superb. I'm not a fan of the seafood platter but it's worth a try at least once if you like seafood.
Robert Renfro
Well what can I say I work here and I actually love my job we have 4 different dinner boats we are very reasonably priced I have worked here 6 years and I plan to retire here. We are family owned and operated and we offer a dining experience like no other. So come check us out and when you do tell them I sent you for the VIP tour.
Halie Crook
Had a fantastic night! Our waitress Sarah was awesome. The food was delicious and the narration was very interesting. Such a beautiful time!
Angelo F.
Very enjoyable to have our office party on this boat. Staff were very professional and accommodating and the meal was great.
Shanique M
My husband and I enjoyed the classy vibe of this cruise. Food was nice & staff were courteous. The only downfall was that we couldn't really see the views at night,so we will try the lunch cruise another time to get a nice view. But overall it was a nice experience for my birthday!
DutchLady Disco
After posting this review I was contacted by the manager who provided excellent customer service. I switched my review to 5 stars and we have another group attending the holiday cruise. The customer service has been excellent. They went above and beyond to address my concerns. I will definitely be spending many holidays and Sundays next year on the Portland Spirit. Thank you to Dennis for responding and great leadership. Thank you to Leticia and all the staff in reservations. They have been superb at helping me. I think many of us are so used to having a bad experience and then having bad customer service when we give feedback. This wasn't the case at all here. They went out of their way to make it right. Thank you again.
Gabriella Midles
We went on the Portland Spirit for one if they are themed cruises. We had so much fun it was a amazing date night to do with other couples. We highly suggest that 80s themed party. We did think the drinks were a little bit expensive so maybe take a couple shots before you head on the boat. The dancing was really fun definitely wear something warm as it can get cold in the evening on the boat when you’re outside.
whitney s
The food was really yummy! The employees were friendly and attentive. We enjoyed the beautiful views and live piano music!
Richard Li
There are parking fees when you park. This company will text you and remind you to pay in advance with a link. This link will charge you ten dollard plus tax. But it cost five w/cruise. Don 't pay in advance.
Alisa Conner
So much fun! The whole family did a Cinnamon Bear cruise on the Portland Spirit and the kids had a blast. Grown ups had a wonderful time too sightseeing on the river.
There was never a moment that the kids weren't interacting with a storybook chracter. They got their photo taken with the Cinnamon Bear, a copy of the photo was included with no additional charge. Queen Melissa sang Christmas carols and read the Cinnamon Bear story. The kids got to meet the Crazy Quilt Dragon and parents were able to take their child's picture. There was a magic show with Presto the magician complete with magic rabbit, they took time after the show to meet with the kids and take pictures. The kids were even welcomed into the wheelhouse of the ship to be made honorary pirates by Captain Taffy. The entire staff was dressed for the event, there were fairies, elves, jack frost, wintergreen witch and candy buccaneers as well as the main cast of characters. I was so impressed with how invested the entire staff was in making sure the kids had a magical time. Towards the end of the 2 hour cruise all the characters gathered to meet with and sign autographs for the kids it was adorable.
The food served was a nice continental breakfast, fresh fruit, delicious scones, cinnamon rolls, croissants, yogurt and granola. There was coffee, tea, orange juice, hot chocolate with or without marshmallows and water. The food was served buffet style on both decks and was included with the boarding price. The bar was open for business for any parents looking for holiday spirits. I glanced at the drink menu and mixed drinks were priced at $10, but no one in our party got a drink from the bar so I can't speak to the service. The bartender was dressed as a swash buckling pirate, which was a nice touch.
The whole experience was wonderful for the kids and very interactive. I would highly recommend this for a family holiday activity.
Ollie
Nice cruise but…the vessel needs a professional window cleaning service; all windows are badly streaked/smudged distorting any photos taken from inside. Request a table in the middle of the deck. The doors at each end (stern/bow) are continually used and make a loud irritable slamming noise. Other than it’s a beautiful cruise up and back the river.
Freddie
It was fun and pretty cool I liked it
Jordon Valenzuela
It was okay, food wasn't great and the cruise it self was nice but you have to be on the top deck as the inside you cannot see anything outside if it's dark and for me it was just too cold. But it was a nice experience with my wife.
Harold Clark
Very cool 😎 enjoyed the time. Thanks to my wife and Terwilliger crew. See y'all next year 👍👍 …

I currently work here so idk how seriously my review will be taken but as a cook I hear all day long from guests about how amazing the food is and I know every server is trained in local history and facts so that they can answer virtually any question a guest could ask as well... and while I'm at it I must say that Portland spirit is one of the best if not the best employer I've ever worked for, this company prides itself in taking care of all of its guests and employees to the highest degree possible... and I'm proud to be part of it

My son hired one of their yachts for a three hour private tour of the Willamette River. It was incredible! For my 70th birthday. Top notch. Fabulous lunch on board. Had the yacht all to ourselves! Great crew/staff.
Gabriel Brownawell
I took my girlfriend on this cruise just a few days ago and it was absolutely wonderful. The staff was kind and courteous, the entertainment was pleasant, and the food was delicious! I will be recommending this dinner cruise to anyone who will listen. My only suggestion is to put heaters on the top deck above the couches (she got really cold 😉). Other than that the time we spent was immaculate.
Jessica pyper
Food was good and our waiter was very attentive. I wish I would have known the top deck is set up like a lounge. Also it's hard to see anything except for darkness. Maybe this time of year the dinner cruise isn't the best. We want to try the bunch cruise next
Samantha Ostrin
Met expectations. Although the piano was nice, i wish the educational component was all through the ship. The experience is not 100% accessible
Shelley R Reed
The food was well prepared. Our service staff were excellent. My only problem was that the temperature of the dining room was very chilly. Many guests kept their coats on for the entire cruise.
Jake Cole
Awesome experience and service! They were super accommodating for vegans and I heard the other food was great as well. The lunch tour was a great way to see the city.
Craig Hanna
Atmosphere and views were good, food was tasty. Service sucked. Forgot our salads, everyone around us was done eating before we got our food (45 minutes later). If you could get a staff members attention, which was hard as they didn't make eye contact, then you might be lucky to get your request in 20 minutes, if they don't forget (had to make multiple requests for a beer and a coffee). Oh, the piano guy had some talent, broad range of music.
Debbie Barber
This is a lovely trip on the Willamette. We had the roast beef loin dinner, which was perfectly prepared. Service was great, too. It's a great celebration evening!
Elizabeth Chandler
This experience was lovely. We had a late breakfast so did not have lunch, (I heard mixed reviews about the food and decided to eat elsewhere). I wanted to be on the top of the boat to see the sights and did not want to eat in the dining area for that very reason. It was relaxing and beautiful. We gave this 2-hour trip to my husband for his Father's Day gift. It was so peaceful and lulling that he actually drifted off to sleep for a while. My daughter and I mostly stayed by the railing to see the scenery, the amazing homes along the shore and to feel the breeze coming off the water. It makes for part of a nice day
Laurine Silver
It was my son's and daughter in-law's anniversary. Everything was very nice. Service was outstanding, food was good, and over-all a pleasurable time. One thing that I did not enjoy was the dirty and streaked windows. With the sun shining on them, all you could see was dirty water streak marks.
It was a good trip.
Shane Allen
My husband and I went for my birthday. Cost was 70.00 each. I feel it was worth it. The food was great. Has an entree and bread included. Choice of 3 or 4 entrees. And, the food was cooked by a chef....on the ship!! The food was really yummy, too.
I am happy w all of it. Experience, sailing on the Willamette River, food, crew, and the view.... Best part!
Patty Piazza
Sunshine, water and the friendliest crew! It doesn't get any better than that. Absolute best way we could have spent our day today. Thank you JJ and all the crew who made our day special.
Trina Sooy
My husband loves bridges and I’m recovering from knee surgery so what better way to spend a few hours than on a boat where we could sit back and relax ?! We took the sightseeing tour on a Saturday. The drinks on board were good and so were the appetizer options. The staff was very friendly and we enjoyed the announcements.
Abigail MacLeod
A beautiful, romantic evening on the Willamette River. Dinner service was very well put together. The food was good, but not great. Excellent cocktails. The staff was wonderful. The pianist played a nice variety of music, providing the perfect ambiance.
Barbara Bradley
The cruise was wonderful. What a beautiful ship. The dinner was incredibly tasty. The atmosphere was so incredible I would definitely do it again. I really feel like I got my moneys worth. ❤️
AJ Simmons
Brunch cruise was fun. Service was awesome. Ship was clean. Staff was friendly and helpful. Ample parking. Ship was comfortable. Food was good. Great way to celebrate special event.
Melissa Calderon
We were looking for a fancy take-out option and came across an ad for Portland Spirit's New Year's Eve dinner special. The price-point was just right for our budget for a special stay at home during Covid New Year's celebration! We didn't have high expectations, but we were blown away with the quality of the food, the taste, even the take-out containers used! The food was scrumptious and was thoughtfully prepared and packaged. All I had to do was pop the tops and line up the containers in my oven when we were ready to dine. I am so happy we took a chance and went with Portland Spirit! I am anxiously awaiting an announcement for a Valentine's Day take-out dinner! Can't hardly wait to see what's on the menu! Good job Portland Spirit!!! You are making celebrations special, easy and delicious! Thank you!! ❤

Get ready to set sail on a magical adventure! The Portland Spirit knows how to treat their guests! Even through the pandemic their accommodations were on point. This tour took place along the river and even with the Oregon rain it was still so magical. They had amazing food, a beautiful atmosphere 😍 and wonderful live music 🎶. The enjoyment goes on and on. They had information not only throughout the cruise ship but also being spoken throughout the tour. There was even a gift shop on board to take home souveniers!! I give them 5 stars 🌟 hands down it was an amazing experience and I will definitely go again.
Ron Cheng
I've gone on various cruises with this company for work and pleasure and
I intend to go again. The Portland Spirit has wonderful customer service that went above and beyond for me (and the organizations I work with). Despite all the challenges we face in a post-pandemic world, the people I've communicated with are polite and go out of their way to accommodate.
Joel López
Fun time, good food, nice pianist, and wonderful servers/bar staff.
Beautiful cruise down the Willamette River to Willamette/Oregon city falls, then all the way back steel bridge.
Could use a bit more theme'ing for better ambience, but overall a good experience.
Definitely bring a warm jacket if you're planning to go during the winter/fall months.
Vargha Hokmran
The quality of food was good. I liked the live piano performance, and overall it was a good experience.
Kate Lewis
We had a wonderful time on or Brunch cruise. The food was amazing and the experience was something I'll treasure for a long time. This is a great thing to do with the family for a special occasion.
Kwpirot Halabjai
Great experience, definitely recommended
Everyone was so respectful, very clean, food was great, views are stunning.
Stacey Talley
Sunday Brunch is the best. The bottomless mimosas, piano player and leisurely jaunt on the river is just what you need to unwind and forget your troubles. I've done this cruise 3 times and am ready for a 4th. Absolutely worth the 3 hr drive from my town to take THIS cruise
Terry Mabry
What an awesome experience! Dinner was fabulous and the sights amazing. Celebrating our wedding anniversary and this cruise was a perfect evening!
Raha aban
Great experience with my family. friendly staffs and quite place. I enjoyed several places on the ferry deck with adorable views. Lunch was good but i wish it was more delicious! in Overall the Portland sprit cruises was great.
Leigha LaFleur
Beautiful views of the river banks as the ship leisurely cruises down (and up) the Willamette. The food is quite good and the staff is very friendly and accommodating. Parking is so much easier now that the ship departs from a dock in SE and there is a huge parking lot. Great for celebrations of any sort, or just as a nice treat for yourself. Check Groupon for some very good deals before booking.
Steven Elkinton
Food was good service was good piano playing was good atmosphere's great great place for a first date really liked it

We were in Portland for a couple of nights to celebrate my 70th birthday and decided to make reservations even though the weather was iffy (Oregon-typical !) Captain Richard cheerfully greets the passengers at dock side before "we walk the plank''. Fair warning -ramp to the ship is very steep! High-heeled boots not advised. We had a great table -but any table next to the large windows is great. Cieci (l'm sure I am misspelling her name) arrived at our tableside with `'champagne" and OJ at the ready. She was very attentive and just happened to be my birthday "twin"!) We confess to being wine snobs and the bubbles being poured were not up to my birthday celebration palate...we ordered the Argyle sparkling -a local winery that produces excellent vino. The Cruise Manager,
Travis, was kind enough to rescue our Argyle for which we had impatiently waited - and kindly accommodated our request to take our pic. We found all the staff to be friendly, attentive without being intrusive, allowing the passengers to enjoy the ride. The narration and the views are fantastic -looking at Portland from the Willamette was truly interesting.
Normally these types of cruises are not about the food -and often the fare is mediocre at best. However, we had the Steelhead and, being the salmon fanatics we are, were pleasantly surprised at how perfectly
the fish was prepared. The veg was asparagus and perfectly done, the heirloom salad delish...no mediocrity here. They work on a buffet principal -which means you can order anything else and as much as like from the menu. We had the crepes with berry mascarpone as our dessert, and when a mini-dessert plate appeared, and we made oinking noises as we demolished that! There were several other passengers celebrating October birthdays as well as anniversaries, etc. which were announced from the stage, where some lovely piano music emanated from.
The Beverage Manager, Cory, who visited our table as we docked, was cordial and enthusiastic about his job. He and hubby had a lively convo about alcoholic beverages (hubby's in the biz). All around terrific time and I
give it 5 stars-definitely recommend this attraction for a Sunday diversion - rain or shine!
Heidi Young
I booked a lunch cruise since our 10 anniversary was canceled due to covid last year. We invited my 9 yr old, since he had never been on a boat before. It was amazing. My son didn't so much care for the food, but over the bread. I was a great relaxing time.
robert dickinson
Nice boat, food was very good. The only problem was fruit flies were very bad that evening and made eating or drinking very difficult, only made it part way through entree before flies got to it. Server was apologetic. Still expensive few bites. Enjoyed piano throughout dinner.
Marcia Figueroa
This was a nice leisurely cruise. Beautiful sights. I liked the facilities, and staff.
My experience would've been better with less talking from the conductor. He talked the ENTIRE TIME!! I could barely think my own thoughts. I appreciate the facts, and history of Oregon. This was OVERKILL tho.
John Weaver
Very exciting and very awesome 😁😁 …
Roni Heyman
This is an absolute must if you’re visiting Portland or locals looking for a great anniversary or birthday dinner. Every time I’ve been has been a magical experience! The food is great, prompt, and the atmosphere is unmatched. (Pro tip, go up to the viewing deck while you’re waiting on desert)
Marc Castro
The food could have been better but the service was very good. The drink called the life jacket lemonade saved the night, will be coming back just because of the drink. Just wish they had a singer that sounds like a nasal congestion. The view was spectacular and Valentine’s Day was very memorable.
J B
Nice cruise, excellent customer service, food okay.
Hovan Matthews
It was a beautiful view of area enjoyable ride, but the spirit can use some decorations inside and outside of the ship was to plain no color, no pictures, no flower or lights on the dining table there nothing to meaningful what to remember about the ship or romantic if people would use as their first date out it would be boring and the service and waitress uniforms can be suitable specially waitress uniforms. I understand it just a scenery cruise 🛳, but it can be a memory's moment for couple 💑 that want to spent a romatic day or night outing with their love 💘❤💕💖💙💗 one's
Lisa Darrow Bradford
Was so pleasantly surprised by the lunch cruise. Everyone was incredibly friendly, from the moment you walk on the ship, and went out of their way to be helpful, friendly, and professional. The food was surprisingly good--I had the steelhead with a mango salsa. Usually cruises are a bit too noisy and crowded for my son (and me); this one was neither. There is pleasant music playing in the background and the captain (Todd with the great voice:) relays some interesting historical and local details. I can't say enough about what a wonderful, enjoyable afternoon we all had. We are already making plans for a dinner cruise (just for the grownups this time). Thanks, Captain Todd and all the crew!
Bobby Cresswell
We had an incredible time on the Sunday brunch cruise! Gorgeous views for hours. Our waitress Lorelai was an absolute dream!! Very attentive to everyone and beyond friendly! She even sang!! Lorelai really made it a great experience. We will be back for sure!
Bharat Verma
Okay, this place is great to sit with your family and friends and enjoy the views of Portland area. But when it comes to food, it's not that great. I got lunch cruise, celebration pack and also paid extra for unlimited drinks. But food itself, the appetizer bread was stiff and chewey. The pasta (veg) entree was good. But desert especially the chocolate mousse cake was not good at all. In my opinion you can just get mormal package lunch or dinner but don't overspend $450 for not great food. The service was good. But no livve piano as mentioned in the package. Overall go for it. But don't overspend on it. Just go for views that's it.
Marty Harger
What a great way to spend a few hours on a Sunny day. It was really fun to take a look at things from the Is Columbia river and to see all of the people enjoying their water sports
Leonard heiselt
I had the privilege of enjoying a wonderful diner cruise on Dec 3rd, 2018. The folks operating this vessel are friendly and genuinely concerned about our dining/cruise experience. The food was warm and enjoyable. The ambience was inviting and cozy. I would definitely recommend this dinner cruise to family and friends.
When I initially signed up for this cruise, my partner became sick the day before our outing and had to cancel our reservation. The staff allowed me to transfer my dinner date for a later date. incurred a small fee of $25.

I booked a brunch cruise during our honeymoon and it was incredible! The food was great (served buffet style, lots of options), and the staff’s song about how they love to make a fuss was totally accurate. None of my beverages were empty for very long, no one seemed to be having a bad time, the piano player was amazing. If you’re on the fence about booking this because of price, just know that it’s an amazing value! What an experience!
Tisha Horn
Really good food! Fun cruise, friendly staff but music was a little loud and we had to yell to our wait staff and each other to be heard. Maybe the masks didn't help but I'll do the cruise again for sure.
Zoe Xava
An another lovely evening on the Portland Spirit. The Thanksgiving dinner was delicious and special. Better than I was expecting with a wide variety of seafood in addition to the obligatory turkey. Could become a new Thanksgiving tradition for us.
Candice Robben
Wonderful post COVID adventure for the family. The brunch food was delicious and the safety precautions were on point. We felt very safe and even on a rainy day it was lovely to spend two hours coasting the beautiful Willamette and catching up in person with those we haven’t seen enough of!
Nacoste Farm Oregon grown
Great place to have dinner just with the menu was expanded a little bit more than it was but the over all experience couldn't have been better by a long shot tho
Dinner on a boat with a singer/waitress was great and a live pianist playing on both decks plus the full bar was behind us which I LOVED 😍
David Harper
We took the brunch cruise on a Sunday. Leaves the docks at 12 PM and gets back at 2 PM. With brunch it is $50 per person which is a good deal for the brunch and boat trip. They put food out as soon as you board at 11:30 AM and keep it there throughout the cruise. Server we had was great and kept the drinks flowing and kept the table clean. The food is great and has a nice variety. Only downside was that the staff seemed to loose interest in mid cruise and stopped putting out fresh food (some of the food ran out including bacon - OH MY!). We decided to put off really eating until later in the cruise since they told us they would keep food fresh on the entire cruise. I had to ask about putting more fruit and bacon out and was a bit put off when the first kitchen staff member told me there was no more bacon. I told our server that I was a bit unhappy about this and he told me he would check and they put fresh bacon out after about 10 minutes. The cruise itself is very nice and a great way to spend a pleasant day.

I booked a rather last minute corporate Holiday Luncheon on the Crystal Dolphin and it was a fantastic event! Leticia Croswell, Sales Manager & Event Planner was wonderful to work with, she had great insight and suggestions. The crew was so helpful and hospitable. The food was amazing and it was a gorgeous SUNNY day in mid-November! I highly recommend!!
Candice Altman
It is absolutely a lot of fun, it’s just something you definitely have to budget for. So we don’t do it very often.
Inga Walter
Loved the experience but the meal was mediocre for the price. Next time I will only pay for the ride
Leah Murray
Birthday celebration. Lovely overall. Our server was fantastic!
Diane Braley
Loved this special dinner with my hubby ❤. Wonderful 6th anniversary.
Dave keckes-chartrey
The Portland Spirit Cruise and Event cruise was quite an event. I mean, I was expecting ghosts doing a song and dance number carrying bottles of hard alcohol. But no. Mrs. KC and I got to enjoy a slow and leisurely cruise on a big boat up the Willamette River and then through downtown Portland. While we were eating, the really nice wait staff brought us a delicious brunch to enjoy while pretty scenery slipped by.
And then, much to my surprise, they gave us a list of hard alcohol drinks. So it really is the Portland Spirit! But no ghosts. But if you like Islay scotch, there were a couple of excellent choices.
It, surprisingly, is a tourist thing. So you can expect a photo, and a store and various other add-ons. But - good news - they'll take your card. So you can buy it all! We didn't. But perhaps the store is where they had the ghosts. Maybe we missed out? If you see the ghosts, let us know.

Outstanding food, and staff! Very fun dinner cruise
ARACELY BARAJAS
ENJOY COMING HERE FOR EVENTS AND GETTING AWAY FOR A BIT WHILE ENJOYING THE VIEW, FRIENDS, FOOD AND DRINKS. STAFF IS AVAILABLE THROUGHOUT THE NIGHT FOR QUESTIONS. VERY FUN/RELAXED ATMOSPHERE.
Alita Hawksworth
Wore mask whenever I wasn't at the table.
Food was delicious.
Unlimited coffee, apple cider, and mimosas.
Staff were friendly.
Piano playing during the 2 hours.
Easy ride on the river.

I came here last weekend to celebrate my dad's 70th birthday with my immediate family and his siblings. We were really pleased to see how seriously the Portland Spirit was taking the covid guidelines, since most of our family members are over 70. Everybody raved about what a great time they had, and they were looking forward to taking another trip, this time we will probably check out the gorge location. I also want to mention that Our server, Luis, was very attentive and had a great sense of humor. All the other staff members were friendly and helpful, too. Looking forward to taking another trip soon!
Elizabeth Stelz
Relaxing cruise down and back on the Willamette River with lunch. Lunch only includes bread and entree (which were good) but you can add other items as needed. Nice scenery. Good service.
Onehope Tree Service & Constructions, LLC
very fun a and food is so delicious
Danis Atlacatl
The ride was good. The staff was superbly friendly. The food was bland. However, one thing was awkward about Portland Spirit and Cruise, and that was the billing format. I paid for the ride online, and it was a treat for friends. Once onboard, we ordered some drinks, my friend insisted in paying for it. The drinks’ bill displayed how much I had paid for the ride. A transaction already paid?? I got it, if tips are a big deal for their business, it should be on the customer discretion. No need to make people feel uncomfortable.
Mariel Martin
The crew is friendly and wonderful. Everyone has a good time aboard the cruises! Yes, I offer inspiring Palm Reading for Events. Everyone loves having their Palms or Tarot Cards read. You can see the photos in on my fb. I love being on the River too.
Tiffany Gilly-Forrer
I've wanted to go on the Portland Spirit my entire life (since I was 6 year's old) because as a kid, I'd see this little cruise ship on the waterfront and thought it was so romantic. I am now 29 and my partner took me on the cruise as a birthday surprise.
He blew it out of the water (pun unintended), by buying us tickets on the cruise. Dinner was delicious, but the whole experience was really what made this the best. The staff were all very classy and friendly, they gave us a free picture of us in front of the boat which is terribly cheesy and wonderful (cheesy in the BEST way for me), and the serving staff was absolutely fantastic. They took care of everything with flare and finess. Our specific server, Sarah G. was absolutely wonderful and definitely deserves a bonus.
One of the staff sang "What a Wonderful World" for my birthday, which was delightful.
Something I do wish was available with the price we paid for the event was some sort of complimentary wine or champagne. It was a little disappointing that not just one glass of house wine was available. That is something I suggest for the future, perhaps a house wine that is included in the price of the cruise.
Altogether, it was more than I had hoped it would be with the staff, the picture, the food, the song just for me, and the beautiful evening. Thank you, Portland Spirit! I hope to ride again soon!

Jeff Norwood
Atmosphere was great, food was great, our server, Fiona was absolutely the best. Our fist date night in over a year and Portland Spirit Cruise didn't disappoint. Will definitely do this again.
Sandra Forsyth
The staff very nice. Good customer service. But the Thanksgiving dinner very overpriced. We were seated by the buffet line which took quite a while to get through so that was our view. The food was fair not great. Happy to have had the experience but will save the next trip for a lunch cruise, something to do on an afternoon.
Monet Bush
I had an amazing time! My boyfriend took us on this wonderful cruise during our last trip here. They are so generous with keeping your champagne glass full. The food looks generic, but is so wonderful. The Mac and cheese was divine. The establishment is not as aesthetically pleasing as I had hoped, but still such a great time. We chose the morning brunch so the whole upper deck was empty and we had a lot more privacy then I expected.
Travis Wardlow
This was a great boat trip. Had a company function on board and they were great and had a wonderful time
Caitlin Kazmierczak
We've been on both the lunch cruise and the brunch cruise, and have enjoyed both! Our wait-staff was prompt and attentive both times, and on the brunch cruise our champagne glasses never ran dry of mimosa's. The food was tasty for lunch, and on the brunch cruise the buffet spread was impressive.
It's a fun activity on a nice day (or rainy day if you don't mind) and there's lots of information given on the surrounding sights off the river.
Juan B
It was a great experience. Unlimited mimosas were dope
Tyharra Cozier
Just cruised on the Portland Spirit to celebrate our anniversary. Food was tasty and staff super accommodating. John E. was our server, and was super sweet and swiftly fixed any minor issues we had. The bartender, Jay, was also super knowledgeable and recommended great red wine choices. Awesome time, fully recommend :)
Jules Cooper
The crew and the ride are excellent. The boat needs to be remodeled and updated. I felt like I was in a '70's movie. I'd tear out the insides and make a really delicious burger and beer/wine restaurant. Get rid of the piano playing and play chill out music. The food was horrible and I'd rather not have food than have bad food. The way the place is now, you wouldn't get many repeat visitors. Make it more fun and accessible to regulars. Fill it year round, day and night. Bring the prices down.
Jacqui Russell
Had so much fun with the whole family.
Franchetta Greer
Very quaint and old-school vibes. Food was descent.
Carson S Miller
Big Foot jet boat tour was a lot of fun!
Barbie Wood
This was a wonderful experience! My daughter drove down from Seattle to try out this cruise with me. I made a mistake on the online reservations and signed up for the sight seeing cruise instead of the lunch cruise. The cruise director was more than accommodating to add lunch onto our cruise. The food was excellent, our captain entertained us with the Willamette River history on the upper outside deck, a pianist accompanied by crew members serenaded all passengers and it was a beautiful day! I highly recommend this cruise!
Toni Holloway
Friendly service, great food & drinks & beautiful scenery! The staff was amazing, the captain even let me take a picture of myself steering the boat! Lots of fun!
Desert Rose KSA
We had such a lovely, memorable evening on the Portland Spirit! It was 4th of July weekend. The food was delicious, and the crew were all amazing! The cruise was about 2 hours long. Dinner was served just after we took off. Then we went up on deck to enjoy the views of the Willamette, where the captain let us steer the old girl. Such fun! And then back down just in time for desert. I would definitely recommend this dinner cruise.
Bna Stha
So far I had a great time .. staffs are super cool ..
Simoan Hunter
Secure parking? Love it!
Edit*Should have specified that the private parking really eased any concerns about leaving my car for an extended cruise. 😉 …
Erin Tarver
I took my 4 year old twins on the Cinnamon Bear Cruise today. The staff are amazing! They remembered my kids names. The food was good. The boat was very clean. My kids had a great time!
JILL GARDNER
Celebrating our 22nd wedding anniversary. We were married on this ship
jposensei
Overall good tour. Gave some info during the cruise. We didn't get the food option, just sightseeing. Wish they had more of an option at the snack bar.
David Chait
My family and I took a two hour lunch cruise on the Willamette. Food was very good, the overall experience was excellent. We made some great memories and really enjoyed the scenic views. The crew was universally attentive to our needs, and friendly. Colin was our cruise manager and he's clearly built Ann exceptional team. We will use this company again in three future when entertaining other guests and on other occasions. Totally recommend them.
Susan Taylor
I loved the whole trip. It to me, was well worth the money and I would do it again in the future. Employees were polite, great service. Food was awesome. And the view was very beautiful thank you Lord for the great weather.
Charles Boltas
My girlfriend and I went on a night dinner cruise and loved it. It was definitely pricey, but was a nice atmosphere. The cruise was $70 a person and drinks were $8-$9. (My girlfriend ordered a hot cocoa. Was cold, was $9!) In addition, they have a limited gluten free menu, but still delicious. At the end of the cruise, we went to the upper deck and watched the captain, Captain Guillespe, dock the ship. He was super nice and very informative. It was nice for a date, but the price was steep. I might go again of they have some specials. You definitely have to go once in your lifetime... Save up!
kaimana lobue
Amazing! Best service ever! From making the reservation with Leticia, to being driven in the golf cart by Elijah! All the Amazing servers Roxeanne, Cie Cie, Matty, Brady and our Captain Joey! You are amazing and in the right business. You helped to make my daughter Karissa's 22nd birthday so memorable! Mahalo for everything!
dorothy wayne
Great food, nice boat, but when it's dark out, not much to see! Went in june on the columbia & it was 5 stars because it was light the whole time. Go during the day!!!
Anwar
Had our Christmas party on the spirit, had a blast. Hosts were prompt and polite, bartenders poured well and were pretty fast. Good was pretty good salmon was cooked perfectly but what really stood out was the vegetarian curry. It w a s a true surprise and was great!
Nicolas Cendoya
Such an amazing experience. I took my friend and his fiancé for my buddies birthday. Fun fact - we were late!! Thanks to traffic... I ran and waved the boat down, which usually means they're a goner. Thanks to Mark Lamberson, Captain Cameron, and the cruise manager Sarah, they came back and got me and my friends!!! I wish I could repay them in another way, but I just can't fathom how much they care about every customer. I recommend this company and tour wholeheartedly. It was a beautiful sight and the food was phenomenal. Doesn't get much better than that. Thanks again! I'll always remember you folks.
Dale Gardner
This was a fantastic evening !!
Amazing dinner cruise with appetizer and desert topped off with sparkling cider and amazing service
Tonya P Rogers

Celebrated a 50th birthday on the Crystal Dolphin. Could not have been a more perfect setting. So much fun.
Susan Orlebeke
We went on a 2 hour lunch cruise, food and drinks fabulous! Only thing the dessert was yummy, but a small portion. Next time, order !
Cindy Pendergast
We celebrated our 49 Anniversary aboard the Portland Spirit for a lunch river cruise on the Willamette. Enjoyed the staff, cruise, food, and entertainment! We will definitely return again!!
Salaina Hays
We had a wonderful time. Kelly took our reservation and got us an amazing table. Juliana was our waitress and she was so attentive and very sweet.
My husband and I were spending our 27th wedding anniversary date night aboard. The food was wonderful. The cheese bread was to die for!
Jackie Buchanan
We really enjoyed our experience on this cruise. The staff was very helpful and we were pleasantly surprised by the Fondue Pretzel bowl we ordered! It was flowing with cheese and so delicious!!! Special thanks to Mindy for the awesome service!
Thank you!
Mrs. Julia Rendon Van Scoit
We have taken two cruises and we had an amazing experience! Valentine's day was so romantic!

Excellent time! The cruise is always beautiful and the crew are amazing! Very talented and entertaining, my server John E. was excellent and always on top of things, one of the best servers I have had!
Love this cruise and it has always been top notch!

We had a company Christmas party on the boat. The cruse around Portland was beautiful. The food was excellent. They use Longbottom coffee which is the best coffee. The staff were wonderful. It was a very enjoyable time.
Barbara Pearson
The service was good. I would rate the food very average. Driving to the port to board was not great. Not a nice part of the city.
joanie melville
We had dinner on the Portland Spirit last as part of the Winter Lights Festival. It was such a fun experience to see the art from the river as we cruised by them. The food was spectacular and our server Luis was funny and engaging and took such great care of us. And let's not forget Red Velvet cake for dessert, YUM! We will most certainly be back for another cruise!!
Aditya Kapoor
It was an average experience for me and my friends who were visiting Oregon. While waiting for boarding to finish we got a table but the sun was right in our face where we were sitting and there was no shade on the window and essentially we were really hot by the time the cruise started moving. We felt a window shade would have been nice addition in hot summer cruises.
Also on one of the coffee cup we found a small spider with a spider web floating around, we just gave it to the staff. With such a steep price i would expect a little more cleanliness. The menu choice was very limited and even the appetizers were not included in the ticket price which was a bit surprising. The serving staff appeared a bit confused in taking orders as well.
However the views from the deck area were very good and some of the crew had amazing singing talent, which we thoroughly enjoyed.
Alan Bryers
Amazing experience, our host Maddie was amazing too! Needs heater boards up top for lounge a little chilly. I'd come again and again
Merrily Haas
Took the trip to Astoria from Portland. A great experience. Got to see river focused industries, wildlife and scenery all while enjoying the cruise and historic commentary. Food was excellent. They only do this twice a year, so sign up well in advance as it fills up.
Whitney Rhodes
The whole package!
This was such an amazing experience. The food, the service, and the Christmas boats.
Travis was our server and he went above and beyond with our many requests. Will definitely come back for other special occasions.
Rush Majumder
My fiance and I absolutely loved this cruise and the staff. Things went off without a hitch and the views were lovely. Plus they personally call you to make sure you had a good time which I thought was more touching in the age of robocalls.
Thank you Portland Spirit Cruises!
Steve Kinney
Took an evening cruise on as a work event with one of our distributors. Very comfortable boat and nice cruise. Scenery is relaxing and gently scrolls along as you float by. Professional crew and staff. Overall great experience.
Letty Villalobos
The food was delicious. The entertainment was good. The service was the best, the staff were really kind. We had a wonderful experience. Definitely would go again.
Brian Lantz
We really enjoyed it! Although it was a cold chilly night so we weren't able to be out on the deck much, they let us into the captains room. Pretty neat to see all the controls and how they operate the ship.
Dong Lam
It is a boring 2.5 hours trip. Excellent service but food is just ok. Don't waste your time!!
Updated: got 2nd chance to join the trip and this time is way better than the last time. I could see the management team has taken this business seriously and professionally so I decide I to give other support. Thanks for the service and the food.
Donald Edgar
My friend took me for a brunch cruise for my birthday, so I can't comment on the price, though I'm under the impression that it's a bit spendy. That said, I really enjoyed my time. The food was a lot better than I expected for a travelling attraction, and there's something to be said about coasting down the river and watching the scenery pass you by. On the way back downriver, the captain opens up the wheelhouse and you can go in and see how it's all done. And if you're nice, he'll even let you steer for a bit :)

Sunday Brunch..Portland
Aloha; We enjoyed the boat tour and the people were great. This was our first experience on the Cruz and the bunch was great.
The desert was cheese cake which it would have been nice to have just a little more then just one desert especially when it's in the summer, maybe ice cream or something cold. The upper deck bar was closed so in order to get a drink you would need to walk back down stairs and hopefully someone will serve you a drink then go back upstairs.
Were thinking of during the gorge trip and hope this will be great for our grand kids.
I work as an activities director for years and this would be great experience to inform people of a great thing to do while here on vacation. I now own a storage place and I will let people know about taking a Cruz out to Portland Spirit. Keep up the great work guys.
Nichka Shivy
Love it! Wonderful views, food, stuff!
Enjoyed it for sure!
Thank you 😊 …
Warren Haight
Enjoyed a free promo evening cruise with free buffet and open bar in August of 2018 on the Portland Spirit sister ship, The Crystal Dolphin. Very nice most notably for the price! Would be worth the price of the cruise, especially to impress a first date.
Cori Hirashima-Boettger (Blingbling)
Had the best time! Staff was great. Highly recommend doing this. Fun, Fun, Fun!!!!
Barbara Halliday
We took the "Landmarks of the Gorge" cruise on the Sternwheeler on Wed. Sept. 10. Very impressed with the entire cruise--from the efficient booking to the delicious continental breakfast, lunch and dessert buffets. Two in our party had mobility issues and the staff on the "Columbia Gorge" were very helpful in assisting us when necessary. We had no problems moving about the ship or accessing the buffet.
Excellent narration during the cruise which greatly added to the enjoyment of the beautiful scenery. A wonderful way to see the Columbia Gorge!

I loved every second of it! Good food and beautiful views. I wish we went in the summer so we could see more but thats okay.
Sam Carr
Great boat ride with wonderful views of the city at night. Food was Ok but the service was outstanding. Fiona was very helpful. Less passengers and very clean. Would do it again.
Jamie Tippner
A beautiful cruise and delicious food. A must- do if you are visiting Portland! This was a great way for us to see the city while having a short time to visit.
Jeff Lewis
Incredible Experience! Highly Recommended for hosting private events on with this great team! Top notch professionals and one of the most unique ways to share Portland with a group of friends and guests.
We will definitely be hosting more events with the Portland Spirits team in the future!
Fam5
Wonderful experience. Boat ride was smooth , servers were attentive, constantly serving food and taking drink orders, they did an excellent job! We were fortunate to have wonderful weather too.
Don Leming
Nice cruise. Narrative was pretty sparse. Drinks were good.
Chris Maurer
Girlfriend and I did the two hour throwback dance party a few weeks ago. Lots of fun, good 80's and 90's music. $8 for a whiskey and Coke.
Less one star, for the two hour cruise being a one hour cruise and one hour stationed to the dock. 1/2 hour before leaving while still boarding..but after the "start time" that we didn't realize was part of the "cruise" (we thought we had two hours cruising the Willamette. I mean, they call it a two hour dance cruise, I suppose it's my fault for assuming that meant two hours of dance cruise, not two hours on a boat) And 1/2 hour after a one hour loop of the River.
Erik Price
We had a great time and the dinner was good. We took someone for their 50th birthday and they really enjoyed it. It was a very nice cruise even though the weather was terrible. I would recommend and I will probably do it again some day.
Savannah
For fantastically traversing the Willamette river, there is no better option. That being said any food/desserts one orders, you must keep in mind it is prepared off the boat. Naturally some temperature and freshness concerns are normal. I ask you to consider these logistics however. For what it is, it is amazing.
Katherine Quinby
Cruise got cancelled in 2020 and I called and booked Mother's day cruise. The gentleman answered all my questions and got to use my gift card from cancelled cruise.
K Hart
Despite the low review scoring, I decided to take my wife on the Gorge Dinner Cruise. Much to my delight, it was marvelous! The customer service to my requests was great, the food (especially the steelhead) was very very good, the captain was informative and kindly. It was so refreshing to go up on deck and view the gorge from the middle of the river. Feeling the wind was so invigorating. Loved it very much and will do it again. Thanks to the staff!
Justin
Went on the Boo Cruise for Halloween and it was alright. The boat was supposed to depart at 11 and return at 1am. The boat loaded at 10:30 and didn't depart until 11:30 but the made up for it by returning to the dock 15 mins early at 12:45. The bar line was very long and you could only get one drink no doubles. Glad I did it but not worth a second trip.
Joe Brookhouse
It's difficult to imagine a better way to be introduced to our beautiful city. I've had a number of occasions to cruise on the various boats including company parties, sight-seeing tours, and dinner cruises.
Most similar operations contract with an outside catering company for the food, but the Spirit operates full galleys with actual chefs preparing the food, so instead of bland, warmed-over fare, you get quality you'd expect from a good, land-based restaurant.
Check it out for a special occasion or as a gift to friends when they are visiting from out of town.
Tom Coatar
A lovely cruise. Quiet and beautiful down the Willamette river. Minimal commentary. Lunch is available but pricey. Full bar and great staff.
Michele Hervol
This is a very small boat in the group down by the water front, probably holds about 30 people, but unlike the larger ones I've been on, you're eye level with the Christmas boat parade 👍. They served cookies and hot chocolate and cruised around for about 90 minutes - fun experience! …
Barbara Lasswell
Christmas Day brunch cruise was great. We especially enjoyed our server, Luis Tzec, who took care of our every need. The entire staff and crew were helpful, professional, friendly and we appreciated that they were willing to work on Christmas day!
Patty Petty
Enjoyed everything about it.
Annette Wesolowski
Such a quiet, lovely evening. Good food and service.
Garrett Massey
I attended a wedding on one of the steamliners. It was one of the best and most memorable experiences of my life and I will cherish those moments with my close friends forever. The staff made everything exquisite and the actual river tour was a unique way to sightsee.
Adonica Simpson
Very nice cruise, food and service were pleasant and the scenery beautiful, great way to celebrate special occasions or just enjoy Portland. We will go again!
Mia Roberts
This was pretty neat. The ship could use some updates but for what it is ( a venue to host events on a ship that goes back and forth on the Willamette)- it's kept and nice. The food was definitely the best part. There were so many horderves that were circulated one after the other by a pleasant staff. The ones I remember were a tuna tartar on a chip, shrimp embrochette, and stuffed mushrooms. The desert tray was also delicious. We went to spread ashes for a relative's relative and the views were nice- lucky no rain. There are 3 levels on this ship. The lower is the dining hall/speech area, the middle is the bar, and the top is the open deck for viewing.
Dakota Grain
Absolutely the best time. We got to watch the Christmas Ships Parade from the deck. This will be a tradition for our family from now on
Jim Walsh
Awesome. We had our wedding on the Willamette star. We looked at the Portland Spirit but the size of the Willamette Star made it affordable to charter the entire yacht. We had 50 plus guests and complete run of the ship. We hired a great Photagrapher that was associated with the cruise line (Cambrea is her name). Smoking guests were accomodated on the open air upper deck and the atmosphere with the river and the city at dusk was very classy. A full dinner is catered and a choice of menus and appizers can be selected. Dinner cruises can be booked for the 3 hour trip so you can check it all out a head of time. Tip the Piano player!!
Salina Stovall
We had a great time. The scenery was amazing. The food was good. Our server Anne was good at recommending wine. She was friendly and accomodating. Fun thing to do for out of town visitors.
Katie Whittier
I booked a wedding with Portland Spirit and cannot overstate how absolutely wonderful it was to work with their team! The weather complicated our ceremony plans in a very big way and Portland Spirit literally saved the day. Their flexibility and hospitality exceeded expectations across the board. What a fantastic experience!
Gary Kabala
Nice paddle wheel cruise up and down Columbia river
Evolving Gardener
In any dance event, the dance music is key. My friends and I were there for the 80s music. I understand that they also have to cater to the younger crowd, but I wish the DJ played more of the more popular 80s. There are so many great ones that we didnt hear.
Anthony Johnson
I had a good time and enjoyed the beautiful scenery!
Cory Gibbs
Great dinner, be sure to get the upgrade for the appetizers, the bread with the cheese is really good. The observation deck after dinner was amazing.
English Team
What a great way to cruise the river! Highly recommend!
Josh C
They didn't bring us bread and there was no dressing on my salad. We had to repeat requests multiple times, before they would bring us cream for our coffee, and a booster for my daughter.
The views were nice, but the service wasn't that great.
Tandem Property Management, Inc. Apartments
We hosted our annual Employee Appreciation Party aboard the Portland Spirit and it was a huge hit! Mindy, our Cruise Manager, helped make the party the success that it was. Her attention to detail, anticipation, thoughtfulness and genuine care about our group was absolutely amazing and appreciated!
Dhananjay Raghunathan
Very well organized and choreographed. The whole family had fun. Lots of things happening inside the ship, but you can also look outside for a unique perspective of Portland and the neighborhood area.
Anthony Alvior
What better way to tour the Portland downtown river area than on a river cruise? On top of that, you get to do it 90s or 80s style! The Portland Spirit offers these cruises on the weekend nights and it's pretty much a themed party on a boat as you float up and down the river taking in a night time view of the city as well as visiting all of the unique bridges that Portland is known for. There is a DJ on board as well as a dance floor where you can dance to your favorite 80s or 90s jams, or you can take in the night air and still listen to the music on the deck. There is also food and alcoholic beverages aboard for purchase, though a little on the expensive side, but that's expected. The cruises last about 2 hours which seems to go by quick especially when you're enjoying yourself. But for the price you pay, it's totally worth it.
Andrew Smeby
Great crew and staff!
Totally worth the experience.
Food is a little average for Portland standards, but it doesn't make the experience any less worthwhile
Kai Lynn
Very nice everyone was super friendly and the view was superb can't wait to come and enjoy again.
Dave Sakewitz
Family cruised the Columbia to celebrate a birthday. Wow! Lived here 50 years and driven both sides of the river hundreds of times, but to cruise it was fabulous. Captain and crew are good people, knowledgeable on the historics too!
You gotta give this a try!!!
Mike Hernandez
Great food and amazing host, had a great time and enjoyed cruising the water...
Andrew
Spent $400 for me & wife anniversary last night, views was okay, the drinks are good and strong, but the service was lacking, and the food/salads/desserts was horrible felt like it was from a school cafeteria or pre cooked heat and eat food, for that price I could've got 5 star service and food from El gaucho, ringside grill etc
Dustin Shidler BS-RT-R-CT
December 6, 2018 for the Christmas ships!!! The single most memorable night of my life. I was too after dinner get down on one knee and propose to the woman of my dreams. Prior to our cruise I spoke with several crewmembers and planned this night accordingly. The single most amazing person on the cruise was Luis T. Luis was our server who treated us amazingly, he knew about the engagement and made my fiancé feel like the most special person that she is. Others like the general manager, captain, customer relations, where all fantastic in the scheduling of this most memorable night. The individual who takes the pictures as you board the ship also was able to capture the moment I was on one knee asking the most amazing woman to be my wife. Not only did they capture this moment in time and let us see the most sincere reaction on my fiancé‘s face, they also gave us complementary photo as we boarded the Portland Spirit prior to me asking her to be my wife. The ambience, the scenery the meal,The Christmas inspired drink was all perfect. This was definitely a night to remember and Luis T (server) made it all happen and was very very good at what he did. Many kudos and thanks for the Portland Spirit for helping bring a smile to my fiancé’s face and many many memories to last a lifetime.
Jaimeson Pascua

Wade Valesano
We enjoyed the Gorge Explorer trip so much last year, we took it again this year as well. Informative guide. Beautiful scenery in the Gorge. Fascinating going through the Cascade Locks. Highly recommended.
C Me
We have taken the Portland Spirit for dinner cruises brunch cruises and just about every trip they do. The food is always top notch and so is the service and entertainment.
Before people talk about seamanship they might want to look into what Maritime/Admiralty Law actually looks like. "Anchoring in a position that obstructs a passageway ordinarily used by other boats is against the law." The law is pretty clear
Ali Salman
It was awesome charming views, great music good food.. perfect timing you don't get board ,staff is great.. they singing smiling welcoming and serving ..we took great pictures .. thank you John E for your service
Sarah Hermanson
We had our company holiday party here and I left pleasantly surprised. Dinner was really delicious. The ship was beautiful. And our server John E. was on top of it!

Amazing night. Very relaxing and classy with beautiful views of the Portland area.
Service was great and singing was a lot of fun. Great service from Matilda too!
Rashad Myers
Great food. Beautiful scenery. All inclusive tickets are well worth it
Ralph Paquette
We were at wrong dock and Captain of the Spirit started the trip then came back to dock and picked us up at Carruthers street dock. He did not have to do this.
This shows courtesy on there part and saved me $500.00 from being thrown away.
Thank you Portland Spirit Cruises
August Becerra
Went there for my friend's wedding. The entire event was great, the cruise, the staff, the food, the tour, everything was top notch and I would book this for myself for a special event.

Jeep Lady
I was on the wrong side of the river and they sent the boat to get me. They offered to take me back to the wrong side if I needed to get my car. GREAT staff. The tour guide was knowledgeable and friendly. They even recommended a restaurant for dinner.
Kathleen
Great dinner cruise! Tasty food. Lovely experience, from start to finish. The walk down to the boat is a bit steep. They did have a good cart to assist our older folks on the way back up.
Thad O'Dell
It was a fun relaxing way to sit and visit. Fun to see Portland from the water side. They were too up tight about masks though.
Anna Winham
So fun to have a drink on the river and enjoy a night out with my love. I highly recommend for a date night or holiday party ❤️

We did a brunch cruise, it was a really nice time. I think it was a bit overpriced, but we got to take alot of pics down the willamette river. The food was ok and the experience was enjoyable. If it was more reasonably priced I would do it again.
Priscilla Ricci
Lovely afternoon on the water. Special treat for family birthday's. Portland Spirit is always a fun adventure.
Vicki Lapeyre
Sternwheeler cruise is a great way to experience the mighty Columbia and the gorge. The Captain has an ongoing dialogue of the history and geology of the area.
Augustin Padilla
One of those things you take your parents on when they are in town. You go up the river and back. Not the most exciting things in the world but on a nice day, you get good views for a couple hours while on the water. The food is very tasty and they serve cocktails for an extra cost.
Beki Safar
Was pleasantly surprised by the food and drink. The staff was amazing. Would highly recommend.
Selena Pratt

Beatifull views all the way back to Portland, but this is not my thing because I was panicking. My friend and other people were very happy to watching views and enjoying, but not for me. Most people were grandparents. Feel weird.
Connie Love Sychowski
We went on the Valentine's dinner cruise. The food was great. Small portions. Staff was very friendly. Enjoyable.

Wonderful way to see the river. If you are looking for food and a good value, try going during the week at lunch. If you go during winter, wait for the Christmas season, it is great to see the wonderful Christmas displays along the river.
